:: COLD play. :: Wednesday, December 6, 2006

I have found one more item to add to my current wishlist.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Who is kind enough to get me this 'Close and Secure' sleeper?
I want. I want. I want.

My wishful thinking aside, I just purchased this seven pack of supremely soft (I hope!) bodysuits online for my sweetie S minutes ago!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Online baby shopping is pure ecstasy, I tell you.

What I like most about my purchase is the actuality that there is one bodysuit for every day of the week, with a different animal on each like "Sunny Sunday" with a lion and "Silly Saturday" with a monkey.
How cute can they get, you tell me?

And before I end my entry, this I must "complain". See, I have a date with Nura and Nyla somewhere this week. But this Nura demands that I do not do two things. One, I am not allowed to tie up my hair. Two, I am not allowed to wear my butterfly top. Very the Maria J, this Nura J.

'_'

Hurray, I am down with a terrible cold.

This calls for a celebration, tau!

:: Have a seat! :: Tuesday, December 5, 2006

We had spent the last two days searching for a new carseat. Initially, we were very disenchanted when we were told by a staff at the Hyperstore that the colour that we wanted was no longer available and that the new stock would only come somewhere in February next year. Obviously we couldn't wait that long. We then tried calling Kids' Mall, Mothercare and The First Few Years to check whether the colour we wanted was available, but to no avail.

We then spent about half a day mulling over our hard luck, not quite resigned to fate as yet. Believe it or not, we did not have the mood for anything else. I knew somehow or rather we would get that carseat. I did not want to give up. I persisted.

So yesterday, I tried calling the Hyperstore again, and checked with a more reliable staff this time round as to whether they had stock and in this case, the colour we wanted.

Minutes later?

Tada!

Moral of the story, kids?

Never, ever give up.

:: Yet another party. :: Friday, December 1, 2006

I have just finished marinating ten fat slices of boneless chicken breast for tonight's big celebration. Someone has turned 50 today, and we all think she is worthy of a BIG celebration to well, celebrate her BIG day. Indeed, indeed!

This is certainly my first time trying out grilled chicken teriyaki chop. I am now like the pressure cooker as the pressure is now all on me. See, I was the one who came up with the menu for tonight. I was also the one who came with that recipe.
Me and my 'clever' ideas!!

You there. Please don't just read my blog; wish me luck!!

If you must know, I am like the head-prefect at home. I am always the one in-charge of all the preparations for all the celebrations at home. I can't help it lah most of the time. Its innate, this meticulousness in me. I cannot help but to ensure that everything is well-taken care of all the time. If the preparations were left in the 'good' hands of either one of my siblings, I dare not imagine the end-result! For all you know, there might not even be a celebration to begin with!
(I always look forward to my birthday though. That's when I can practically see everyone panicking like mad and losing their nerves preparing for my birthday celebration. Ho ho ho.)

Take today, for instance.

The cake has yet to be bought till now, and so I assigned Tatek to be in charge of the buying of the cake. Emicakes for our Mak, no less.

The food has yet to be prepared, and so I assigned Nurul and Ili to meet me in the kitchen at 7.30 pm sharp so that we could get started with the food preparation. They are soo going to be treated like slaves later! :)

And thankfully, the card has already been made by me four days prior to Mak's birthday. I guess everyone is just lucky that I am having my break now and have nothing to do at home anyway. I am proud of the card I made this time round, though! See this time, I tried making a pop-up birthday card for Mak. Not easy to make I tell you, but it was definitely worth the effort. Come, let me show you.

And yes, everyone is expected to write in the card. It is a house rule. Everyone includes Khairul Ikmal, Ili's current beau, and Ju, our ever so emotional maid.
Kwa kwa kwa.

I trust Mak to NOT read my blog now for she has yet to see her birthday card, hokay?!!

:: Great Etrangle Sale! :: Thursday, November 30, 2006

I want to sell off my brand new Mothercare infant carseat which can be used from birth right up till the child is 12-15 months old.

I bought it at $350.
I am now intending to sell it at $200.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Why am I selling it, you ask? Well, had it been compatible with my Buzz stroller, I wouldnt even think of selling it. I am so in love with it, hokay? But what to do, they are not fated to be together.

Please do consider buying it. Help me out! I am desperate. I'll do anything. I'll wrap up the carseat in a very nice hot pink wrapping paper, complete with a very big gold ribbon on top of it! I 'll even deliver the carseat right up to your doorstep. :(

Interested buyers, please email me at diahm@hotmail.com.

Thank you. :)

:: Confessions of a mother-to-be. :: Tuesday, November 28, 2006

I would like to express my deep and most sincere condolescences to Nurul for the loss of her beloved Sony K800i.

My friend, what's gone is gone. What's here is mine.
So don't you even dare eye my K800i! '-'

On a serious note, maybe I should already start working on my group project, and that is to come up with a starter's kit for beginning teachers. I should also start working on the unit plans and resources for next year. I should. I should. I should. But the thing is, I am simply too rigid to even start on any of them. I would rather blog one whole day. I would rather surf baby online stores. I would rather do my readings. Anything, just anything to keep myself from sleeping BUT work-related tasks.

Let's do hope though I do not keep dragging my big feet till I deliver. By then, it would be almost impossible to set some time for my projects, don't you think?

Speaking of which, I am so fearful of giving birth that I keep having nightmares that wake me up in the middle of the night, leaving me either crying or perspiring. No kidding, man. Its bad enough that I am experiencing diffculties sleeping at night nowadays, hokay?

Although I've been getting a lot of encouragement and comforting words or stories from various superwomen who have been there and done that, I still am not convinced. And my dissatisfaction is further strengthened by fear-provoking birth stories from some. Stories that are laced with unresolved fear, panic and pain.
Scary, hokay?!

Perhaps that is also the reason why I've been buying a lot of baby stuff - to serve as beautiful distractions just so that this whole giving birth process would be a beautiful and worthwhile one.

Perhaps only when I see my Little S (not ass) would all my fears then go.

Insya'allah. Do offer me your prayers, hokay?!

Special thanks to you, my husband, for always being there to rescue me, fully equipped with your comforting words and gestures.
You are the best action-hero lah, Tatek!

Yet another update on Tatek's 27th Birthday. That's how much he means to me. Hope you don't mind.

The preparations and the private party for the birthday boy.

The birthday boy with people who care. Sadly, Ian couldn't join us for the celebration due to work. And yes, laugh all you want but that's how big my tummy is now! Thanks to this picture, I couldn't have looked worst than worst, what with my very big bump and my very bad posture. Nurul looks like a midget next to me, but not for long ok?
So enjoy being a midget while you can, Nurul darling.
Diamonds are forever, but definitely not you and your midget status.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Time to go off tangent a bit now. I was bored today, so I decided to see for myself how I would look like pushing a baby in a stroller. And what better model to use than Ili's very scary looking TKGS doll to well, pose as the baby. That doll is so grosteque I practically dumped it inside the stroller. But grosteque or not, I wanted to badly see whether I have the makings of a mother. Insya'allah.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
So what do you think?
And please, I am not asking you for your opinions on that doll, okay!?
Spare me.

Finally, a big congrats to my very good friend, Siti Hasenahnisah and her partner. You are a wife finally!

I couldn't be happier for you, sweetie. :)

:: What a GR8 birthday!! :: Sunday, November 26, 2006

Yesterday was Tatek's birthday, as we all know. And when I say we, I do refer to only those people who read my blog, and not all the people in the blogging world. Must make myself clear here just in case some people start labeling me and Tatek as the egotistical ones. We are not, ok? We are never careless of the feelings of others. We are careful. Very careful. (Right.)

So where was I?

Oh yes, yesterday was Tatek's birthday, and guess where we ended up in? And while you are at it, also guess what we, or rather Tatek, ended up buying.

A Gr8x baby traveler diaper bag!

Not for the birthday boy. But for the Little S.

We had initially decided to just ditch the idea of purchasing a diaper bag as we thought we could just make do with a normal bag. Then Oni tempted me to get this really gorgeous white Fleurville Mothership diaper bag. Then Azlifah tempted me to just get a Gr8x diaper wallet.

But today, when we were at 'The First Few Years' babystore, my dear Tatek fell in love with a Gr8x traveler diaper bag. To be exact, he fell in love with the handphone pouch attached to the diaper bag, rather than the diaper bag itself! But after scrutinizing the diaper bag, we fell in love with it too. See, this diaper bag is different from any diaper bag because it is an all-in-one diaper bag as well as a change mat.

Very the best, right? We bought the same one but in black.

So to curtail my longwindedness, thanks to the cheap sale, we ended up buying the diaper bag. I am sorry, let me correct myself. TATEK ended up buying the diaper bag. What was I there for then, you ask? Well, I was there supporting his every decision, just like the typical filial wife. (Right.)

Happy belated birthday, Tatek love! I hope you love the gift you have bought for Little S!

Today will be yet another birthday celebration for you, this time with everyone around.

P.S: Nura, Tatek says thank you for the birthday wish! We are so lame, we could have just grabbed that phone of ours and SMS each other right? Either way, Nyla is still the cutest, lor!
