// A reason to still smile at 28. // Monday, November 26, 2007
And so you turned 28 finally!
These people in the video rehearsed several times, trying to get the perfect tune for their marching item before the surprise birthday party. Yes, they actually marched in one straight row with the exact same tune as their background music! Sharleez and I were supposed to only bring dearest husband to the location once they were ready with the surprise party and performance. And the best thing was, my dearest husband did not even notice them when we arrived. But when he did notice them eventually, he thought they were just a bunch of fools seeking attention. The result of that? My husband tried to avoid them. He could not recognize them still even though they were just three metres away from us! That's how perfect my husband's eyesight is.
Lol.
Happiest Birthday, dearest husband.
You know we all love you.
P.S: Thank you Mama Aan, Dada, Nana, Papa Ian, Mama Ili, Papa Fiq and Bibik Ju for planning my daddy's birthday party! However, I am in a daze still. I cannot yet understand what a birthday celebration is, why people need to sing at the top of their voices the silly birthday song and yes, painstakingly light up the candles only to blow them candles eventually. I was cranky during the whole celebration yesterday. Mummy said she is going to sing the birthday song to me everyday before my birthday party so that I would not end up cranky on that day too.
Oh well, I have only got this to say. It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

I am just so dead beat.
I have been waking up as early as 5.30 a.m for the past few days just to get myself ready for school. Tomorrow, I will have to wake up half an hour earlier than that. See, the one thing I really, Really, REALLY, hate to do is to leave house at the crack of dawn when my girl is still fast asleep, only to wake herself up and realize that her mummy is not beside her. The feeling just sucks, let me tell you. And the one thing that I really, Really, REALLY, look forward to every morning is to wake up next to my girl and smell her. Babies just smell so good. Too good.
Aiyah.
It is bad enough that I have not been able to spend my weekday afternoons with her. To go to work and leave her so early in the morning? That is a bit too much for me to handle. I did not give birth to her in the first place only to have my mother, and a stranger called THE MAID to take care of her, you know? :(
Yes, I am sort of grumbling because I do not feel like I have been spending enough time with my family. I love my work, but I love my family more. Work is important, but family is most important. No?
My greatest wish in life, you ask me?
To be a stay-at-home mother.
Forget them school holidays.
Forget them bonuses.
Forget even the connect plan. Mummy I wanna go home!
Oh, and they say wishes rarely come true.
But I'll linger, dear.
And hope.
Meanwhile, back to reality. I know I'll get through this somehow.
:)

My fingers are just aching to type this entry. Aching so badly. I have to blog about this now.
Have you heard?
This year's top PSLE score is 294.
The highest ever in Singapore Education history in 17 years.
Have you heard?
This year's top PSLE pupil is a Malay girl.
Definitely the first few Malay pupils to have accomplished that high a level in Singapore Education history.
And, have you heard?
This year's top PSLE pupil is none other than my little cousin, Natasha Nabila. Now do you understand why my fingers were aching? Now do you understand why I could not wait even a second more to blog about this?
It is REALLY a big deal, lor!
Natasha, we are just so proud of you and your whole family. Congratulations Natasha, Pak Nasir, Cik Arah and of course, you too, Little Natalia!
Who knows, you might just be the next Malay pupil to create history for us. If your big sister can do it, so can you! :)
And so can Sharleez!
Insya'allah!

What?
I've been honestly busy, you know? So you cannot blame me for abandoning this white black space of mine for a while. There are so many equally important upcoming events to prepare for. My husband's birthday. My mother's birthday. My brother's birthday. My best friend's wedding. My brother's wedding. My wedding anniversary.
And of course, Sharleez's first birthday party!!! Ignore the very fact that she is not even aware of the not-so-big birthday bash we are planning for her. Ignore the fact that the mother is more excited than the daughter about the not-so-big birthday bash. Ignore the fact also that the mother has been spending almost her entire pay for the not-so-big birthday bash.
So what, lor!
So what!
What's the theme, you ask?
Hmmm.
As silly as this may sound, it's a SECRET. :)
Now, now, who shall we invite to the not-so-big birthday bash?
