Card Captor Whoah!

Ok, just wanted to rant a bit. I've started reading the American Translation of Card Captor Sakura, and it's the MIXX version so they've kept all the original names and the hints at same-sex relationships. That doesn't bother me.

What does bother me? Thanks for asking...anyway, in the 2nd book, Sakura and Tomoyo ask their friend to help pick out a gift for Yuki cause this friend is dating a mysterious older man. Turns out the man is their TEACHER!!! And this TEACHER gives this 11-12 year old GIRL a promise ring!!!

Ok, it's supposed to be really sweet, but it really freaked me out. At youngest, their teacher is 23-24. What the F**K is a 24 year old man doing interested in a 12-year-old?

Is this some cultural thing I don't get, or is it CLAMP? I mean, Subaru was at least 16 in Tokyo Babylon, and I thought that was stretching it. (and besides, there was nothing remotely sweet about that relationship.

Ok, thanks for reading:) Gots to go to class. (SOB! DON'T WANNA GO!)

randomness

First off, a belated b-day to Audrey (sorry, I didn't know!) And I hate to sound like such an old Lady, but I loved the Vampire Chronicles when I was in high school too. Haven't read past Armand though, didn't even know there was a new one. Of course, I kinda got mad at Ms. Rice for having her lawyers go out and hunt down fanfic writers, but I digress.

Ok, I made one website change. Put the comics page here instead of at Geocities, cause of the bandwidth limit. Although if the sysadmin at school catches me... GULP!

Waves Randomly to everyone else. As soon as I see Harry Potter on Fri, I'll probably have much more to say.

Now I gotta go drag a cooler full of ice and cans of soda down to the student lounge. Fun. Fun. Fun.

HARRY POTTER!!!!

I bought tickets in advance. I'm going to see the movie on opening night!

Yeah, so like, I've forgotten how to blog or something. First Pitas was down, then I was feeling all down about Lucasfilm cranking down on slash sites, and then I had to compile boring statistics on my hometown (which is due Friday and still not finished! Can't make heads or tails out of census.gov grrr)

And Lika the simple answer is that God is love, and s/he won't turn someone away for loving, no matter the gender.

And on that note, g'night folks:)

over quota???

I'm so glad people like my new layout! (Waves to Lika and Keri:)

It's apparently so popular that Geocities is giving me the same trouble it's been giving DoS. Or, at least they've been sending me messages about it. I think they just want me to cough up the 10 bucks a month for my own domain name.

Gotta teach in 1.5 hours. Nervous already, stomach feels icky. I don't know why I do this to myself. Oh, thought I'd mention, I'm doing library instruction courses. Waves to the other two library people out there! (that I know of who read this;)

And Lika, forgive my interjecting into this debate, but I'd thought I'd put my two cents in (about homosexuality and Christianity). First off, let's take the Roman Catholic view, which states that being a homosexual is NOT a sin. The RC church believe the act is, and calls all homosexual members to a life of celibacy. (Now, the RC church also thinks that women shouldn't use birth control or get divorces, all things I disagree with.) BUT, notice a key thing here, it all goes back to the LOVE the sinner, hate the sin thing.

This whole God hates homosexuals disturbs me greatly. I mean, the whole point of Jesus dying for humanity was to show us how much God loved us! Not specific types of persons! Remember how he hung out with tax collectors, prostitutes, heck, ordinary women even. These were the dregs of society, the outcasts, the lost and lonely.

If being a Christian means following the example of the life of Jesus, then one cannot hate homosexuals. They can mourn the sin, but should reach out with compassion and friendship! Not hatred and recrimination.

Boy, I hope I don't get flamed for this.

I wish all my readers love and peace (does little Trigun peace symbol thing).

Look! It's Red!

My new Subaru Layout is up! And it works in both Netscape and IE! (Well, it did here, at the Library, where nothing works.) If you guys have any trouble with it, please let me know so I can make up an alternate page. This was my first foray into a kinda ritzy layout. Did I mention that I love Dreamweaver? And Dreamweaver 3, not that sissy Dreamweaver 4 that messed up my Pitas Page.

Anyway, Ammie Halloween is more than that. It's the pagan/Celtic New Year, and the reason death got associated with it is that the Celts were interested in between times. Like how twilight is neither day nor night. So All Hallows Eve is the ultimate time, between one year and another. And Midnight, aka the witching hour, would be the time when the fabric between the two worlds (death and living) would be the weakest, allowing glimpses of spirits and such.

How do I know this? I was Pagan for like a year. I read a LOT about Celts and modern versions of the Old Religion. Um, and a lot of Marion Zimmer Bradley:)

And Kerianne, I do like your new layout, but I can never view the text in Netscape.

So, how about I write a cute S/K fic for Alisan-san for her birthday? (which is when exactly, DoS'ers? I've been itching to write one anyway, I just need the incentive.

Have a good November, everyone!

Stuff - oh well now that's clear

Ah-hem, ok, stuff:) Updated my fanfics page, loaded the new Subaru layout, although that won't be viewable until after October 31st.

And Lika, there is Buffy in this. (BTW, girl, hang in there:).

Finished the next chapter of "Game of You" although nobody will see it until Shinri approves it:)

I've been thinking about whether or not I'm an S/Ser or an S/Ker. I certainly write more S/S but I do like the idea of a happy ending for Subaru, i.e. one that involved a loving relationship, aka with Kamui. I guess I swing both ways when it comes to Subaru ;)

And yes I'm secretly screaming "Don't take the Eye!"

Oh, and I do think Keichi is hot. :)

My Dog

Yes, I have a dog, Ammie. Here he is

Just discovered this I'm seriously considering trying it out, just to see if I can.

SIMS obsession

When I have tons of work to do, why am I sitting here playing the SIMS? Is it because I created little Subaru and Seishirou SIMS and am trying to get them to fall in love? Note: They just moved in together, but there is no hint of romance from Seishirou. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon SIMS were easier to get together.

Kerianne I'm sorry I didn't link you sooner, and thanks for saying you liked my fics! (blushes) Now I'll have to go and finish some of the WIPs on my computer.

Lika, I'm sorry you lost your fic:( I lost a poem I wrote once and it really pissed me off. I hope you get your midterms out of the way soon.

Ok, going to go eat and see what trouble the dog has gotten himself into now.

Darkness Emerging

Ok, I went nuts. I changed the Dark index page, and FINALLY added a Links page! It's all part of the Realm of Cinc, Version 3.0, which should be available in November.

If you're bored, check out my newest thing and if you do, be sure to tell me what you think!

I have been reading BLOGS, honest, I have! And now I FINALLY know what this whole Octupus Tie thing is about. That'll teach me not to look at all the pics first...

And as for the recent pairing debate, why not go for an alternate pairing? How about Subaru and Obi-Wan? Both taste great with milk.
