Just bouncing along

Taught my first class yesterday and the students looked about as thrilled as a bundle of bricks. Oh well, I can blame it on the scripted lesson plan... You can lead a college student to the library, but you can't make him/her think.

Anthrax scare on campus. Lovely. They don't know yet if it actually was Anthrax. I hope not, this is getting too frightening.

It's hard to get too frightened, when I have so much work to do. One of my more interesting assignments is getting a law, then tracing the origins of the law back through Congree. Only I get the most boring law ever. It's about the Delaware Water Gap. Yay. Well, I can now successfully navigate the United States Code. Um, except for the supplements.

Oh, and Lika, going WAY back on your Blog, talking about the Sin of Pride, I disagree that that's what got Adam and Eve thrown out of that little garden. I think the real sin was lack of responsibility and not owning up that what they did was wrong. Adam shoveled the blame off on Eve, who shoveled it off on the serpent. (and I can make a comment here about men still shoveling responsibility on women, but of course, whenever anyone else interprets this myth, the woman comes off evil. Mind you, the naive woman, considering she wasn't even there when God told Adam to stay away from the tree, and if you follow Jewish apocrypha, was the 3rd wife of Adam, the first, Lillith, being too uppity and independant for her own good. Hey, bring that up to your pastor:))

Happy Birthday me!

It's my birthday! (does a little dance)

I went to Cape May this weekend. Lovely place, down the shore with lots of old (Haunted) Victorian houses. Of course this meant no homework got done, nor did I get much sleep. And don't even ask me about Breezy motels...

I do plan on updating the website soon, just not right now...erg.

Waving

Waves back at Lika.

It's so hard to keep up with so many blogs! So much to read, so little time...

Anyway, on the Church score, I got how everyone was going to burn in Hell (Terrorists included) due to too much pride. Well pride does "cometh before a fall," but I didn't think it was that far down...

Discovered something new and cool in Dreamweaver. My November Layout is going to look so awesome. And be very Tokyo Babylon centered.

Going to bed now.

Halloween Layout

Well, I completely redid my layout. I like the way it came out, however it's really heavy loading. Don't worry, this layout will be coming down in November.

Hopefully in November I can display a beautiful TB layout. I have to test my coding skills.

Sigh

Well, I have a nice updated version of this page, linking all of the wonderful people who linked me.

However, for some reason, Pitas won't upload it. Is it a problem with the CSS? I don't know:(

Thank you all who have linked me, it really is much appreciated!

National Tragedy

I don't think I can be as eloquent as many of the other weblogs out there. I can only write what I feel.

I was on the road AWAY from the NYC area when it happened. I got to work around 9 am, received an email about in on the M-A list and thought 'what the heck...?' Went to teach the class and we still didn't know anything.

I began to list the people I knew in the city and my fear grew.

It really didn't hit me until I stood in the library, listening to a portable radio someone had set up. When I heard that one of the towers COLLAPSED, I gasped.

I couldn't go home that night. I live right next to Newark Airport. All the roads home were closed or traffic congested.

When I finally did get home, my car slowly crept up the hill on route 22, from where I can usually see the New York City Skyline. It looks like someone took a great big hole out of the skyline. A column of white smoke lifted up into the sky, joining with what I had thought were mere clouds.

More soon.

It's here!

It's here! All 7 volumes of Tokyo Babylon!!!!

Shibby.

This calls for a new layout...sometime soon, heheh....and maybe an actual update...

Going to run a 'contest' on my site, whoever's the 1000th visitor, screencap the number and email it to me. Prize is a custom-written fic by me!

Slash everywhere

So I'm reading up on the new Star Trek in the latest issue of TV Guide and guess what, one of the major male characters will find himself surpisingly pregnant.

I suppose the creators MUST have been on the Slash sites. Probably closet slashers. Although he probably won't get pregnant in quite the same way Obi-Wan does:P

I'm actually not too thrilled with the cast. I'm more looking forward to the next movie. Go Picard!

The best thing about New York City...

Well, this weekend I took a trip to that city of sin itself...and I got stuff!

First, I was able to take a tour of the DC Comics offices. Man, that place is so cool. It's like walking through a comic book. You never know if you'll run into a life size Superman or Batman. The pictures will be developed soon.

Then, we got caught in a downpour and got wetter than I've even been in public before. (Um, that doesn't sound quite right...

Then, off to the two-story Kinokuniya Bookstore near Rockerfeller Center. My eyes glazed over at the amount of Manga, which stretched as far as the eye could see. I picked up two volumes of X, 1 of Yami no Matsuei, and the Tokyo Babylon Photograph book. I could have gotten my hands on X Zero, the X artbook, but my pockets didn't go that deep. (Translation, it was EXPENSIVE!).

So what's next? I have some free time, so I might actually make that links page, or even write some new fanfic. Tune in next time True Believers...

Habla Espanol?

Well, I'm not sure quite how I feel about this. I found one of my fanfics Corruption translated into Spanish on this site.

Of course, I'm very flattered that someone thought the fic was good enough to warrant translation and host it on their site. The only concern I have is that I was never asked permission for the fic to be so translated or posted, nor even informed that the fic was posted someplace else.

Ok, so it's a fanfic. I don't have any copyright claims on it, and the translater was nice enough to keep my notes and name intact. I'm not angry about it, or anything. I was just surprised, you know? I mean, if she had emailed me, I would have been able to provide a link to it on my page. As far as I can tell (with my high school Spanish) the translation seems pretty close.

Ok, I'm going to think about this some more. (and ransack the internet looking for more of my fics:)

The Game of You

So I finally finished chapter 3 and it's up. Despite the fact that I spent all of Saturday reading the archives of Boy Meets Boy.

In other exciting news, I will soon be the proud owner of a complete set of Tokyo Babylon Manga. Yay! God I love Ebay.

Photoshop

They should never let me near a computer with photoshop. I do crazy things, like the pic to the left there.

When I saw how Subaru and Obi matched poses, I couldn't help myself. I have much more updating to do, but right now this'll do. It's way to early to think.

Yoda doing standup.

"Into a bar walk, yes, do a Jedi, a Wookie and a droid. mmmmmm.

Hurt it did. yes."

Ewan Obsession

Well, it's gotten worse, all thanks to this website.

I've even adopted my own Ewan. In fact, I've adopted several of these babies and you'll probably be seeing a lot more of him around my website.

What should I be doing? Besides reading for my class? Fanfics. Specifically The Game of You, which isn't even archived yet. GAH.
Only two more weeks before classes are over.

Friday, July 20, 2001 08:28 a.m.

Wow, deepness.

I've been reading these deep blog entries (DoS' and Lika's)about religion and 1. it made me want to put my two cents in and 2. embarrased me by how shallow my blog was.

So being raised Catholic, dappling in goddess worship, I came to a kind of general concensus based on The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

Gee, still nothing profound here. Oh well, back to fanficcing...

Ewan MacGregor
Had a rather interesting Dream involving the Ewan man himself. Also found a great website filled with photos, the Best of Ewan MacGregor.

P.S. I need a new layout.

Saturday, July 14, 2001 11:15 p.m.

Took a personality test on the internet, showed I have a high propensity towards obssessive compulsiveness.

Is an obsessive compulsive librarian anything like an alcoholic bartender?

P.S. Final Fantasy was a good movie.

Strangest Pairing: Aoki and Fuuma

Well, I did it now, wrote an Aoki/Fuuma fic, um sorta. Check it out and enjoy:)

Some news, got my very own copy of a signed Neil Gaiman book. (squeals!) Now I need to work on that shrine.

Well, ficcing first:)

Realm of Cinc
No updates in a week. Wanna know why? I was in CALIFORNIA!!! I had so much fun, even though I was there to attend a conference and missed out on meeting Neil Gaiman in New York. poop.

Anyway, found an interesting DVD, it looked like a sequel to Vision of Escaflowne. It was an import and way over my budget (so sad!)

Anyway, once I get my computer back, I hope to write some stories, maybe Cherry Delight 3, probably the third part of the Romance fic that I haven't archived yet. And then I'll update the site.

Tuesday, June 12, 2001 08:53 p.m.

Sandman Shrine
Ok, added the Sandman shrine and a new quiz! See which of the endless you are like! Planning to add more stuff, like actual content soon, but not for a while since I'll be away. Found a group on yahoo to feed my Moulin Rouge obsession.

Pastel Pages
Finally uploaded the update to Pastel Pages. Started working on my new Sandman shrine, and it's going to be awesome! I hope:)

Pastel Pages
Did a massive overhall of the Pastel Pages, although of course it's not up yet. I hope this page looks a bit better. Saw Moulin Rouge this weekend, really hope it doesn't start a fanfic frenzy, I don't really have time for that:) Anybody else think that it ended the same way as Ewan's last movie? Or that much of the plot was very similar to Shakespeare in Love?

Realm of C. Inc
Ugh, this looks horrible. I have to edit this...Just got the thing today. Started a "let's update the webpage" frenzy, so expect a new look in a few days.
