Well, my off-line world has been really busy and hectic! I started my new job Monday and it is going well! It has taken some getting used to because the pace is much slower than I am used to, but I see that as a gift. An actual job that I am not tied to the phone...I can get up and potty when I need to!...and I don't feel like someone beat me from the work load or fast pace at the end of the day, either. :)
We have also been busy planning and getting ready for the church wedding next weekend! I'm so excited about it! So many people are coming and also participating in the Mass! Will post some pictures after the event.
The Wiens (Emmett and Roman) are doing GREAT! Just finished a wienie dog wrestling session, actually. They are so cute! Roman hasn't had any more seizures that I've seen/witnessed. We are holding good thoughts that the one a few weeks ago was a isolated, stress-induced incident.
The Racoons

So the past month Emmett has been going BESERK around 3-4am. There are strange noises out on the back patio, which is just outside our bedroom. At first, we thought Mopsy the rabbit was making lots of noise in her cage. Then we thought maybe there were cats out there. One night there was such a ruckus that James got up to look, and saw a very large racoon climbing the arbor on the patio! Racoons can be mean and there is no way we were going to let Emmett outside regardless of how much we wanted to.
After much deliberation and calling someone I know at animal control, we decided to call the county trapper. It seems our town is FULL of racoons. The trapper brought a trap, and explained that he would be terminating any racoons we caught. Regretfully, we set the trap. A little over a week later, we had a visitor in the trap. We kept hearing this scraaaape, draaaaag outside. James went out to look as Emmett freaked out, barking, and saw two racoons; one in the trap, and the other dragging him around in it, obviously trying to free his friend:

Turns out the trapper doesn't work on the weekend, but it was just as well...this racoon was so CUTE! A local animal expert we know came out to the house and we took it about 3 miles from the house and let it go. :)
Roman Is A Lap Dog

Roman is certainly a lap dog. If you are sitting down, he is on your lap...even if he does not know you! Here are some photos of Roman with his favorite laps:

Long time no blog!

I have so much to blog about and so little time!!!
First of all, my niece and nephew were here for nearly two weeks and as always we had a good time, even cleaning the garage! (lol) We didn't even do that much while they were here...seems like we were home a lot...that was at their request. Funny kids. I mean young adults...they are about to go into their sophmore and junior years in high school. Sheesh, that makes me feel old!
I promise to upload some pictures soon. I have pictures of Roman with everyone. If someone is sitting, he's pretty much glued to them, cuddled up or trying to climb on their laps. He really enjoyed the kids and bonded immediately with them, as well as my dad. My parents absolutely adore Roman as much as Emmett, and they are not what you would call animal people. :)
Other than that, I start my new job on Monday (8/22) and am really excited about that...and we are busy, busy planning and getting ready for our church wedding on 9/3! It's going to be great to spend time so many good friends and family! I dropped my wedding dress at the cleaners yesterday...I mean it's only been, what, a year and 9 months since I wore it last and never got it cleaned??? Wish us luck that it GETS clean, please...
Good Boy!

Roman met family yesterday. My parents brought Tony and Maddie to spend almost two weeks with us. Because Roman can be so unpredictable with people I was a little nervous about how it would go. Silly me! Roman LOVES Grandma, Grandpa, and his cousins! I don't know if Emmett gave him the dish on the family ahead of time, but he didn't even bark at them! I am sooooo proud of Roman! Within minutes he was asking everyone for pets and at some point in the day he was on everyone's lap! :) He is really enjoying the kids already. He even tried to engage in play with Tony and Emmett last night. Roman is settling in very well I would say. He's not fond of the crate, but I am hoping that will change. Because we think he may have epilepsy and because he is having seperation anxiety issues, we are having to crate him when no one is at home. I put the gate up for Emmett, too, so he can see Emmie is confined, not just Roman. Last challenge: teaching a stubborn, adult dachsie that we potty outside, not inside. Wish us luck!!!
