What a fabulous weekend in San Francisco! We stayed with friends of the bride and groom, Danielle & Jeff. They were, as usual, the best hosts anyone could hope for. They even let us bring Emmett! Who behaved very well, I might add...
I sang at the Wedding Mass, and also with a big band orchestra at the reception for the couple's first dance:

James got to dance his VERY versatile "hamster dance":

The reception was at the Golden Gate Club, in the Presidio and the view was gorgeous! Out this window to the left was the Golden Gate Bridge:

I got to meet up with lots of old friends! Here is Woodencracker and Gabbie. That is his charming date, Diana, to the right:

...and some friends from old Newman days:

All in all, a really lovely event. Thanks so much for making me a part of it, Gabbie & Frank!
Big Weekend Ahead

Well, we have a big weekend ahead of us! Gabbie and Frank get married in SF this weekend! We'll be taking Emmett with us, which will be a huge load off my mind. No one could take care of him this weekend, and I just don't feel comfortable leaving him at a kennel. That would mean 3 nights there, as we would not be able to pick him up until Monday. Gabbie's friend, Danielle, graciously invited James, Emmett and I to stay at their home for the weekend. We are really looking forward to it! James has not been to SF so Sunday we will have to be touristy. :)
Gabbie told me today that she has us seated at the reception next to an old friend I haven't spoken to in over a year. This should be interesting! LOL Maybe we'll be able to mend fences a bit. I hope so! I have missed his friendship tremendously. I am in charge of all the music for the wedding Mass, and will be singing, as well. I also get to sing a song with a 12 piece orchestra at the reception! I am so looking forward to this!!!
Scary!!

Okay THAT was scary, huh? A tsunami warning??? OMG! I actually grabbed Emmett, and drove to SLO to get away from the coast. What's worse, Heidi moved up north THIS weekend very near to the coast of the epicenter! I was so scared for her. I called her and she didn't even know when it happened. LOL! Here I was all panicked...sheesh! I'm glad we're all safe and we did not have a tsunami. You know, I have lived at the coast most of my life and this is the first tsunami warning I have ever experienced. It's so weird... Anyway, we're all alright. Emmett just thought we were going for a car ride to visit Daddy in town! :)
I visit this website periodically. It's very informative:

Gripe!

Okay here is my gripe for the day...Why is it that every time I seem to find a really great product they decide to change the formula on me? I remember years ago laughing at my mother for this. They changed the formula on the hairspray she had been using for years, so she went out and stocked up on all the old product she could find. She must have had a whole cupboard full of VO5 hairspray.
My first personal experience with this phenomenon of people messing up a PERFECT product was with Checkup Toothpaste several years ago. This stuff was fantastic! I mean, after using that toothpaste for a week it seemed like you had just had a cleaning at the dentist ALL the time! One day...whoosh! Gone! No explanation. My own personal theory is that the dentists of the world made sure it was taken off the market because it worked so well! Gosh, I miss my Checkup Toothpaste...
Today's issue? My hair product. Six years ago, my hair suddenly turned curly. I had no idea what to do with curly hair, what product to buy. Those of you with curly hair know what I'm talking about. One day I was sharing my frustration with my hairdresser. I told her I didn't like how the curly hair products out there made my hair crispy and/or wet looking. I just want a nice, natural curl and control for frizz. She introduced me to the Curly Sexy Hair line products. OMG the spray mousse was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Soon, I tried the shampoo and conditioner, too. I even use the Big Sexy Hair hairspray!
Well, a while back they decided to change the formulas on the whole line. The conditioner no longer detangles my curly hair and the new formula for the Curl Enhancer (spray mousse) now makes my hair stiff, wet looking and dries it out! Just what I didn't want. :( A couple of weeks ago I was in store and saw that they had the Curl Enhancer on special...and they had a couple of bottles of the OLD formula! I bought both of them, and then found myself going to two other of the same stores in the immediate area to buy old formula Curl Enhancer! I was successful at obtaining 6 bottles of it. That's all my checkbook would allow, actually. (I swear Mom I will NEVER make fun of you again!)
This morning, after struggling to comb my hair out and unsuccessfully detangling it, I decided to call the customer service department of Michael O'Rourke's Sexy Hair line. I told them I was calling to complain about their new formulas. They listened, then informed me that they would "not be changing back to the old formulas ever again." I said, "Thank you for your time. You have just lost a very important customer." After all, I have recommended the product to several people, including hairstylists. Word of mouth is business, Sexy Hair people...and mine just started hunting for a new product line...
Obsessive-Compulsive Dog

Have I ever mentioned how obsessive Emmett can be? Once he is fixated on something, it goes on and on and on and on...
Today it is a fly. An intruder found it's way into our home, and our dachshund is on the hunt! It keeps flying around in circles over the coffee table. What is it about flys and them always flying around the MIDDLE of a room? It's so annoying! Well, apparently it is annoying Emmie as well, and he has been hunting/stalking/chasing this fly for over an HOUR now! LOL Round and round the coffee table he goes, barking, tongue hanging out, stopping occasionally to survey and whine at it...paused, one side of his lip tucked under, and one paw poised up. I took a few pictures to share:
