*now listening to "I Think I Love You" by Keith Partridge, er David Cassidy* (Damn you Janelle! :P )
Heh, we had our ice cream party at work today. Whee, can't refuse free Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream :D~~ This was the result of the Whiteboard Holiday Mural contest we had in the office. The competition was supposed to be 1st floor vs 2nd floor, but the judges liked both, so we "all won" uh huh, yeah sure ^_^ You know our mural on the 2nd floor was better ^^ They gave an award to every department for their artistic endeavors. I work in Engineering, and our award was "Sexiest" picture. Hahahah How often do you hear "Engineering" and "Sexiest" together? Heheh we are such geeks. I also worked on the IGN part of the mural, coloring it in. I was high off of dry-erase marker fumes, I swear. Anyway, that was fun. Alexa: I have had Freetalk linked in my blog ever since I started it ^_^ It was one of the first blogs I started reading. As for Ecchi Pitas, yes, that blog is run by Yuuhi-niichan, who also runs Ayashi.net. He's a good friend. I recently helped to convince some of my friends from #yaoshi to get blogs, and he was one of them who caved :) Others who succumbed to the trend now include Itadakimasu~~~, a blog by Thea, who also runs fushigiyuugi.com. Then there are the blogs by Juri, Tanzy, Puu~~, Kristi, and Michi. They all run domains with lots of spiffy and scary pages, which I am sure you can find through their blogs. I don't think I have the energy to try linking all their domains here at the moment :D But their blogs are interesting! They are genki! They are strange! Hmm I need to do some Christmas shopping. I don't know what to get anyone though ;_;. Yo, SF Gumi! Some hints please! :P Wheee, I think I'll go moderate the IGN Anime Boards some more. La la la lala la la la *now listening to ... um what is this called... Sammi's song from Needing You* I am very excited. I will be visiting my parents in Texas soon. Yay! I like going back to Austin/Round Rock to visit. I'll be there for a week, and will even get in a visit to my old anime club, The Anime Club at the University of Texas at Austin for their final showing of the semester. I used to be the screening schedule czarina for the club, and it has been 3 years since I have been to a meeting. I look forward to seeing everyone though. I know a lot of old friends are there still ^_^
Lets see, last Thursday I was going to go to Kinokuniya. I went there after work and was called by Thea, who I ended up meeting there. We spent much money on manga. Leaving Kino, we ran into Ryan and the people who are in charge of YaoiCon, which is happening here in SF next year. They were about to have a YaoiCon planning meeting. Thea and I tagged along to give what imput we could. We mainly just listened to them discuss con details. Thea bought me dinner, in thanks for helping her move. I had okonomiyaki. YUM! Friday was a very slow day at work. I spent a lot of the day playing Samba de Amigo. We have the game set up on the Dreamcast next to my desk. In case you aren't familiar with it, Samba de Amigo is similar to Dance Dance Revolution in that they play a song, and you have to keep in time to the beats that they specify. Except instead of dancing on a control pad, you have these maracas you have to shake. It is very silly, and a lot of fun ^_^ I am not that good at the game, but I love to play! Saturday I ended up going to Kinokuniya AGAIN. This time it was to the San Jose store. Keiti (hehehe) drove, as I no longer have a car. I spent even more money on manga. EAUUGHH! I am spending too much on manga again! (yeah this is a common complaint of mine >_<) After Kino we had dinner at Max's. I love the desserts there *_* We discussed theories about naked bishounen synchronized swimming in bowles of fantasy torte. Don't ask, you wouldn't understand! ^_^ So, from 2 trips to Kino this week, what all did I get? Hmm the one volume of Kaikan Phrase I was missing, the infamous death issue of Asuka, a Kerochan 365-days CCS desk calendar, the Yukiru Sugisaki NEUTRAL artbook, some scary yaoi manga, the FLCL manga, Trigun manga, HYD vol 27, A couple of shounen things I was looking for (Discommunication vol 2 and Tokyo Underground), and a whole lot of random cute-looking shoujo things :) I think I will write up a summary of "Sanagi to Ousama" for my Random Shoujo Manga Page. It's a really cute manga that manages to have idol singing and teacher student-relaionships at the same time. I love those shoujo manga plot devices, hohohohohohoho! When I wasn't at a Kinokuniya, I was at home having my own personal J-Dorama weekend. I recently received a complete set of the dorama "With Love" subtitled in English. With Love is one of my FAVORITE doramas, and it's even BETTER when I can see what everyone is saying :D I was so warm and fuzzy and genki and sparkly and happy after watching it! (Yes, I went through all 12 episodes of this series this weekend!) Once again, I LOVE this dorama~~~~! It's like that movie "You've Got Mail" but set in Japan, and spanning 12 hours :) It's about a timid bank employee girl who is mistakenly sent via email, a piece of music. The music touches her heart, and she replies, telling the sender how the song made her feel. The person who sent the song by mistake is a introverted, moody, COOL commercial music composer. He meant to send the song to his coworker, but got the email address off by one number. So over a long time the two of them exchange thoughts via email, telling some small lies, not telling the other their true identities. Meanwhile, they do run into each other in person without knowing it. The bank the girl works at is in the same high-rise as the commercial music company, so there are casual meetings. Anyway, this is such a good series! Now I just need a complete set of the drama "Love Vacation" subbed!! Does anyone out there have it? MUST FIND! Wah, excuse me while I run off to go shimmer genkily for a few more hours :) *_*
Oh yeah, I MUST watch SNL next weekend. Music: U2. Host: Val Kilmer. *_* *_* *_* *_*
I watched the third (and final) Key the Metal Idol DVD last night. I never did make it to the end of this series before, and all I can say now is WOW *_* it was so cool. Very sad *sniffle* but cool! I am glad I bought the DVDs! I am SO close now to getting my new computer! At long last, after so many delays! It is almost in my grasp! WOO HOO! I can't wait! Yeah, I'm goin to kinokuniya again today. I'm such a manga ho..... I am sorry to all the people who have emailed me and not received a response yet. I am so bad at replying to email! I will try to reply soon! Awww right, got Flash installed on this computer. Time for fun! Added: Thursday, November 16, 2000 02:30 p.m.
Last Thursday and Friday my work sent me to a 2-day Flash training class. It was so awesome. I love it when my work pays for stuff like that. I learned all the joys of Flash 4 (yes, I know version 5 is out, but I used 4) and can naw make all sorts of nifty animations. The thing is, my home computer is too sucky to handle the flash editing program, so I will have to wait until I get my new computer (*soon soon soon*) before I can dazzle you all with flash intros you all will most likely skip anyway ^_^ Lets see, what else is going on. Well, there is taht whole election business. I voted for Gore. I am kin dof tired of the whole fuss. I think they should just make Florida vote all over again ^^ That would probably be impractical though. But I will stop talking about that subject, as I am sure we are all sick of hearing about it now. I got some new DVDs today! The Slayers Next DVD box set, and the Bebop Vol 6 DVD. I need to write more reviews! I can't wait for the next Slayers DVD set!

Kya-chan: wow, you used my project overload as an example in class? cool ^_^ Glad to be of help! I think the official spelling of 'the' should be changed to 'teh'. Some process in my brain refuses to allow me to type that word correctly. Well ok, I know it is my Typo Oni being evil again. Grrr. All typos and spelling errors are HIS fault! I claim no responsibility.... Oof, I didn't blog all weekend. I just realized that O_o. I was very much a slug this weekend. On Friday, Katie and I went over to Japantown again (yeah, yeah I know, more manga. I'm a manga-ho, I couldn't resist the tractor beam again) and I ended up getting a Kaikan Phrase manga artbook. Heaven help me, I want to make a page about this series. I love it so much! It is so amazingly CHEESY! The manga is all smutty, with not much of a plot, and the anime is all eyecandy. But Damn, I am itching to make a page for it. GAHH! I have too many pages already that I don't do enough updating for! I STILL haven't even opened my clamp-related page! Or my GTO page! WAAAHHHHHHHH! *ahem*. I also picked up a few random things. One shounen manga that was very very violent but pretty badass, and one shoujo manga with very funny art (looks sort of loose and scribbly, and not all that 'manga-ish' in style) that turned out to be very cute. I may get more of that. Katie and I ran into Thea in Kinokuniya (fancy running into her there, what are the odds? hahaha yeah, really high :D) and we all went out to eat (yummy sushi, sukiyaki, tempura, etc, mmmm) and then checked out this new crepe place next to Kinokuniya. It's just like the crepe places I see in anime or manga :) You can get a really big crepe, rolled into a cone and filled with anything from eggs and cheese, to fruit, chocolate, nutella (*_*), whipped cream, etc. Lots of choices. All very very oishiiiiiii! I'll be going back there.... Saturday and Sunday I didn't do much at all. I kept telling myself to work on stuff, but I just couldn't work up the will. My nekotachi were a big distraction (Spike and Vicious have been very very active this week, knocking anything and everything over....). I also received some fansubs in the mail recently, and watched some of them yesterday (in between watching way too many old episodes of Growing Pains. Oh Lord, having cable again is awful! the stuff I watch now O_o) I think one of the reasons I haven't been doing much work on my web pages (besides my sucky computer, and general procrastination) is that my damn computer setup at home is so uncomfortable. My chair is uncomfortable (it's one of those kneeling-posture ones) and the desk I have my computer setup on is small, and my monitor is over to one side, so I have to turn my head to look at it, I think I work better and am more inclined to sit in front of the computer longer if I am looking straight at it. This is why I am in the process of moving my computer over to my drafting table. The drafting table is large, so I will have room for everything. This required the relocation of all the misc. junk I had piled up on it. My apartment is back to messy status >_<. At least this time it is because I am trying to be MORE organized :D
Ok, have some more work to do. ja ne!
I think in between projects today I shall work on my clamp-related page. I have much to do on it still ~_~
Hmm, what to do this weekend. I have been so amazed at having cable again this week (I am really pathetic, I know) that I have been watching so much TV. I have to resist sitting around and watching TV all weekend. I should do something productive. Like spend more money on manga at kinokuniya (no! Must resist! Dammmit! GAH!!!!!). Or get some real work done on all my pages. @_@
anyway, back to work!
Katherine: regarding the changes you go through when you start college, and when you finish- I started the University of Texas at Austin as a Pre-Pharmacy major. I changed to an English Major in my sophomore year, and then switched again to Advertising my Junior year. I graduated with a BS (how appropriate :) in Advertising, and am now working full time as a web designer. Wheee! ^_^
I NEED to get the new U2 cd, I NEED to get the new U2 CD, I NEED to get the new U2 cd.....
Oh oh, I got the Vash the Stampede Trigun figure by McFarlane Toys today. It is so spiffy! I love the attention to detail on it! He looks badass standing on my shelf here at work. I have him next to my large Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanner figure. They are the same height, so right now I have Vash pointing his gun at her :) This vash figure comes with the figure, a stand that is like a piece of western scenery that has been all shot up (complete with bullet casings on the ground), his gun, an extra arm, and the black cat! They included the cat! How cool is thst ^_^ I want McFarlane Toys to make a Spike Spiegel figure! :D
Ok, I have a favor to ask. Juri tells me that when she clicks on the link from niko-niko that goes to my Kaimu Tachibana page surly-genki, that it does freaky things to her browser, namely the page keeps loading itself over and over and over again. This happens when she tries to maximize the browser window after opening the page. I was wondering if anyone else could look at it and tell me if it does teh same thing to you too? I haven't received any complaints about this problem before, so I am wondering if it is just Juri's computer or what ^_^;; Thanks!
Hey Hey, IGN is having a poll on their front page asking if they should open up a new section devoted to anime (as opposed to housing their few anime articles under the scifi section).
Please go there and vote for Anime! They REALLLLLY need to improve their anime coverage! Thank you! :)
Anyway, it's november 1st, and my niko-niko november layout is slightly delayed due to netscape problems. I don't know what is up, it was working fine on both browsers before, but I did something wrong because now it is crashing my netscape. I am working on that problem. I will hopefully have it up sometime tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, I have work to do, ja ne!
