  • Eeeh, and I thought I was tired last weekend =_=. This week has been very busy, and I have just been too darn busy/tired to blog. My workload has been very high. It slowed down for one whole day on Wednesday, but then yesterday I had a big project dumped on me at work with the deadline of 'tomorrow' (today). Blek. SO I have been really stressing. I have made good progress on the project, and expect to get enough of it done for them to be happy. Don't you hate sudden pressure like that?

    On Wednesday I went to the DMV to apply for a duplicate driver's license. I think my cats made off with my old one. Really! After I got my license I went to a UHAUL place to rent a van. My new computer (Tsubasa!) arrived this week, and I needed the van to get the machine home with, because I have no car or other reliable source of transportation. I also had some errands I wanted to run and shopping to do while I had the van to load things. Unfortunately my luck with the public transportation system here prevented me from getting my van in time to come back to work and pick up the computer. So instead I picked up Tanzy, and we met Steph, Brandon, and Thea in Japantown. Stupid traffic kept us from getting to Japantown until 5 minutes before Kinokuniya closed, so all I could get was the You Higuri artbook I had special ordered, and the issues of Ciel and Wings that were being held for me. No random shoujo manga this time ;_; But wow, this artbook is gorgeous! We all went for dinner at Kushi Tsuru, one of the many restaurants in Japantown. Then, with the van, I took Tanzy and Steph over to Target to do much shopping! There is a lot of stuff I have been needing to get, but because the only target near me is in another city, it is hard to get tehre without a car and get stuff home. So with the van I was able to get a lot of stuff! Yay! Wow, I have a microwave now! How amazing! I have been without one for almost 3 years now, it's scary :D

    I had planned to leave work a little early yesterday so I could return my van on time, but then I was given that big project, so I was stuck here stressing for too long and the truck was returned late. Ugh. AND I was up until about 3am working on this project so I didn't have a chance to unpack my new computer and get it set up. I will do that when I get home. I can't wait! Tsubasa with 1GHz *_* and a DVD drive and CDRW! I need to get some blank CDs. I can finally check out some of the DVD-ROM extras on the DVDs I have! I think I need to get some screencapturing software now too.

    I don't have work next week! Another week of vacation! YAY! It will be nice to cool off the stress form the last 2 weeks. And it is almost Christmas too! I will be going over to Katie's house for Christmas day. That should be fun. I want to oogle her manga collection :D

    I was very tense and tired this morning, but I put on one of my favorite Christmas music CDs,and now I feel a lot better. What CD? It's my John Denver & the Muppets Christmas CD. Seriously! This is a wonderful CD! I loved this album (vinyl!) when I was little, and would listen to it all year round. I don't care what people say, it's possible to like both L'arc~en~ciel AND John Denver! I was very sad when he died in that plane crash a while back. This Christmas CD with the muppets is so much fun! It always puts me in a good mood and has forever changed how I sing '12 days of Christmas'. o/~ FIIIIIVE GOOOOOLLLLDDDDDD RIIIINNNGGGS!!!! Badum bump bump! o/~

    Ahem.

    OOf, I feel like a slug today ^_^;; I have been like peropero from KareKano all weekend, just one sleepy blob that rolls around with no real meaning. Not that this is a bad thing really, but it does make the weekend go by quickly. Last week at work was a very rough week. It is the first time there that I really had way too much to do, and not enough time to get it done. So felt a lot of pressure all week. And I know it will continue into next week. In reaction to last week's stress, I ended up sleeping all weekend. I haven't wanted to think about anything! But all the sleeping makes time go by fast, and it's already almost Monday again. Ah well, maybe next week will be better. Christmas is coming, and I do have the week following Christmas off too, so I can relax again too.

    I have been reading other blogs that talk about the bad weather and snow, etc. I am glad that the weather in SF has been very mild. It has rained a little this week, but the temperatures have been in the 50's, which is just fine. When I visited my parents in Austin, the weather there was much colder. And on my way back here, on my stopover in Utah, it was snowing! Now that was cold. But a lot of fun to sit in the airport waiting lounge watching the snow fall outside. SF doesn't get snow. I like snow and rain, but only if I am inside and warm, and curled up with a good book or something :)

    I finally got niko-niko.net December layout up yesterday. I forgot to blog about it last night. Sorry for the delay. I think the December layout is very plain. I'll try to come up with something more interesting for next month/year! Woah, is it already December?? Making a new layout every month makes the months fly by! Yow!

    I am not making much sense in this blog, I can tell! I'd better go now, and come back when I am more coherent ^_^;

    OOf! Yes, I did make it back to San Francisco! But after spending all Sunday on a plane, I wasn't in a mood to blog (or do much of anything) and when I got to work Monday, I had a lot waiting for me from my missed week. So I have been swamped at work, getting very tired, and feeling generally cranky.However today is my telecommute day, so I got to sleep in a bit later, and that helped me feel better. After work tonight I went to Japantown to meet up with Steph, Tanzy, Thea, Katie, and Vu. We ransacked Kinokuniya, and then had dinner at Izumiya. Oishiii~

    I didn't get to go to Kinokuniya last week, and from my spending today it looks like I was making up for that missed trip ^_^;;;;I picked up the new issues of Cheese, Asuka, and Hana to Yume, along with a pile of new Tankoubon including Penguin Brothers vol 1, Planet Ladder vol 1, HanaKimi volume 13, this collected volume of stories from Nakayoshi from 1976 to 1980, and like 4 other misc. shoujo things taht turned out to be really cute. Ugh, I REALLY need to update the random shoujo manga page...

    All my page updates are on hold (including December Niko-Niko layout) until I get my new computer. I ordered it on Sunday, and According to an email I just got, my machine has shipped, and I can expect it next week! YAY! It os a Micron, 1GHz, DVD-ROM, CDRW, etc. It will be FAST! Woo hoo! I have already named my computer "Tsubasa". Yeah, Tsubasa means "wings". I know you saw that coming ^_^

    Thanks to Tanzy for offering to help out on my comic strip! I have had some good input from Tanzy, Thea, Puu, and other #yaoshi folks. This should be fun! Get started writing, Tanzy! OH HOHOHOHOHO!

    I can't wait to update my Hanazakari no Kimitachi E page! Volume 13 is so adorable! I don't think I have even added volume 12 yet! Shame on me! The ending of the side story in HanaKimi in this week's issue of Hana to Yume is so precious! Umeda-sensei's young shounen ai love, awwww ^_^ Excuse me while I sparkle for a while !

    Yup, I archived again. I didn't have that many entries this time, but the ones I did write were very long O.O

    Well, tomorrow (er later today ;_;) I fly back to San Francisco. I am so sad. I like being here with my parents ^_^ But I have also missed San Francisco and my friends and cats, so I suppose I will be happy when I get home. Perhaps if my apartment wasn't such a tiny hellhole I would look forward to going home more ^_^ Really, my SF apartment is nothing more than a glorified cubicle. I even have that hard, flat office cubicle carpeting. It's awful. I'd look into finding a new place, but I don't think I can afford at least $1500 a month for a 1-bedroom place. I guess I will have to keep dreaming of real carpeting and other luxuries like a garbage disposal and a dishwasher ^_^ It's a sign that I am getting old when I sit here in my parents house and covet their kitchen appliances ^_^;;

    But I will get to see Spike and Vicious again tomorrow! I need to thank Tanzy and Thea for taking care of them for me! Take them out to dinner perhaps? I am sure they enjoyed going through my manga, DVDs, and other assorted smut while I was gone though ^_^

    I finally finished reading all the MegaTokyo archives. They linked to my Mizuiro Jidai page a week or 2 back. It's amazing what one link can do to the traffic on your site! I was looking through the access logs on that page, and during the days that link was open on the MegaTokyo site, the hits on the Mizuiro page skyrocketed ^_^ How amusing :)

    I am still interested in doing my own online manga-style comic. Thanks to some help from some people in #yaoshi, I have an idea for a plot and characters that I want to develop. Maybe I will do this whole thing on my own? I dunno ^_^ I think I will keep my offer open for writing help though! I am looking for someone with a silly/sarcastic/somewhat ecchi sense of humor who can understand the fangirl viewpoint on anime fandom. Male or female writers are cool! I hope my idea hasn't been used already. With my luck it already is. I once had this great idea for a set of characters and the secret organization they worked for, but I never did anything with it. Then a couple years later, the movie Men in Black came out, and I could have died right then. It was remarkably (not totally, but one main part of it) like my idea. So now I am afraid that if I do do my old characters and idea, people will say it is like MIB. *sigh* But my new idea is pretty interesting, so maybe I will give it a shot ^_^

    I guess I should get some sleep soon. Bleh, on an airplane all day tomorrow, but not on any one plane long enough to get an in-flight movie ^_^; maybe I'll read this XML book. Ah well, talk to y'all next when I am back in California!
