sorry to bore you all with political junk but i am currently researching the candidates on the voter ballots and so far my technique for choosing is researching each candidate and creating a list of pros and cons.

well, after researching the candidates for "lieutenant governor" I read that Brad Owen, the current "lieutenant governor", was a small business owner with just a high school diploma before he became lieutenant governor.
Apparently this guy is now the longest current serving Lieutenant Governor. I have never even heard of him before reading his name of the ballot.

Oh and the funny part is since he has been in office he was knighted by the king of Spain for "more than 15 years of working with the Spanish government" and he received a fucking ~HONORARY~ doctorate in letters (Humanities), Walla Walla University, 2002!!!!
1. how does working with the Spanish government help the state of WA. I can only imagine how much of our tax dollars went to his "working" in Spain. Perhaps if he was more involved in our government we wouldn't have so much issues in our state. blah blah blah!
2.WTF! honorary doctorate really pisses me off. Even typing that ish makes me sick. And from Walla Walla University none the less. Is there even a freakin Walla Walla University.

On another note I would like to ask you guys why christine gregoire is constantly preaching to me via the television that WA is not only deficit free but that there is a surplus!?!?!? the seattle pi has headlines that read "Washington budget deficit may call for tax boosts $2.4 billion state shortfall predicted". O RLY? so gregoire blatantly lied to me on her annoying ad. O RLY so thats why we have over crowded schools and schools have to cut programs because of under funding. Well at least I know my tax dollars finally went to fixing the roads. and how convenient that it was close to election time.

in conclusion i would like to share something with you that really... idk i wouldnt say shocked me maybe more disappointed me. I have this friend I'll refer to her as J. so J brought up the election and asked me if i voted yet and i told J that I wanted to research because i didnt want to vote for all republicans or all democrats. J told me that she had voted and with a stupid ass grin on her face said she voted for Obama. The first thing i asked her was WHY? she said "I dont know because i dont want another old white guy to be president". I looked at her and i said " are you serious? thats your criteria for voting?" and then i said why did you really vote for him and she freaking said "because everyone else is voting for him" and that her "favorite celebs are voting for him" OMFG WTF is wrong with this generation?!?!?! She couldnt name ONE policy that she agreed with Obama on!

Which do you guys wanna watch? If we can get our hands on the DVDs, we should have a viewing day! I especially wanna see Saawariya since the trailer looks amazing, but I love the song from Bunty aur Babli, though I haven't seen the rest of it. Your choice, but these are my suggestions, yay!

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na looks good also, and it's a recent (2008) movie, dealing with two friends, a boy and and girl, and according to Wikipedia: "Aditi, quick-tempered and prone to extremities in life, would prefer a strong man, an archetypal 'stud', who'd get into fights to protect her. Jai, on the other hand, is a pacifist, and would rather have a more sweet-tempered girl than Aditi as his better half." So I'm guessing TEH ANTICS must happen before they realise they are perfect for each other. Sounds good!

On We Feel Fine, there's a feature where the site ranks cities based on respondents, like, which cities' citizens said they felt "sad" or "great" the most out of a percentage of total submissions of that city, and B-TOWN, BREMERTON is ranked with the cities that felt the most sick. Probably sick as in OUTTA SIGHT! YEEAAH BOIII!!! Number one sickest city is Townsville (AKA, PPG amirite??)

Then, you should check out twistori, which is a user-based art piece, inspired by we feel fine, except it aggregates all users' twitter posts for specific instances when users said "i love/hate/think/believe/feel/wish." I'm addicted, and you can even download a screensaver for macs, which I strongly recommend.

Examples:

• I LOVE brooklyn and all... but there needs to be more coffeeshops with less hipsters
• Brad hates cats, I HATE dogs, so we might settle on a wiener dog.
• I THINK the amount of Mariah Carey I've listened to this week qualifies me as fabulous.
• I BELIEVE that Palin is no Hilary Clinton. She's much, much better.
• Still reading textbook. I FEEL the pressure on me. Shit.
• Matt's parents are coming today. I WISH my parents would visit.

I swear, I use it as a user-generated news source. I got updates on people's feelings on McCain's choice of Palin, Hurricane Gustav, & that it's Labour Day. Summer Vacation has messed up my sense of time. Also, it's cool when you read something Seattle-specific, like "From hot tub to bumbershoot to hot tub to bumbershoot to hot tub to bumbershoot. I LOVE my life." COOL!

Isn't the Internets AMAZING? Srsly. Get a twitter. You can download an application to your phone so you can update on the go. It's addictive, and all the cool kids are doing it.
