radiohead update from sweet marie:

RADIOHEAD are planning a webcast of new material this evening as a Christmas present to fans, NME.COM has learned.
The group are currently holed up in an Oxford recording studio, putting the finishing touches to their sixth album, due next year.
A page has been constructed on the band's official website, www.radiohead.com with a message from Thom Yorke, requesting fans download Realplayer before 10pm tonight (December 18), hinting songs from the new album will be played for the first time.
The message reads: "Now then. You might want to download Realplayer by 10pm on Wednesday the 18th of December 2002. We think it's a good idea. Unless of course you have something better to do. In which case fair enough. It's just a thought. Nothing may happen. Every day I wake up and wonder whether this is the day it will happen. Make some coffee, turn on the radio and wait. It hasn't happened yet. Happy Christmas. Thom."
Internet rumours suggest the band will premiere the studio version of '2+2=5'. In the 'Kid A' period, the group did a number of webcasts for fans.

monday night, jish was in town... so jenn invited me to tag along and meet some other gta bloggers. it was smokey at pauper's but the crowd was fairly engaging for us web types. spent some time chatting with lizvang and met john too.

Wednesday, December 11, 2002 - 11:28 p.m.

helloooo... it is i, the to-do-list avenger! yes, i am in super checkbox mode, non-stop pre-holiday activity. to be honest, it feels great! it's much easier to ride the wave when you are strong and healthy. over the last year i felt like i was too weak to handle the stress of my daily life and ended up sucking down mouthfuls of sand.

i have been making an agressive effort lately to do the things i need to feel sane: exercise, eat healthy, and sleep. such vital human needs that i so often ignore.

doing my best to focus on being productive, both at work and at home. i've stopped blobbing out in front of the tube in the evening. it makes a world of differnce as to how much you can get done. i was never a huge tv junkie, growing up i was much more likley to get sucked into a book than the couch. TV bores me.. but i fell into the habit while recovering from tb. i rarely had the energy for much else. but i've grown tired of fondling the remote control - i want real action!

tonight was the annual suite 916 gift exchange. it was a laff riot as usual. lots of gift stealing, good food and cheap jokes - even a mystery "santa" came by.

now i am busy writing thank you cards from the engagement party - more fun than a barrel of monkeys. i don't actually mind writing the cards, if only it wasn't en masse, it makes my hand cramp and becomes more challenging to keep it personal.

so what's new with you? i have a cookie gut. sigh.

i have been shirking my writing duties. apologies all around. not really in the mood to write at the moment, but i need to get back in the game so here goes:

updates: i finally bought my own computer after coveting a machine of my own for the past six years.. yet i still end up using the dude's all the time. i need a couple of hours to sit down and move all my stuff over.

in other news, my folks threw us an engagement party - apparently this was in place of the sweet sixteen/bat mitzvah i never had (note: i never wanted any of those things...) the night was success and i had a lot more fun than expected and am looking forward to the big day. the whole wedding idea is still freaky but the party aspect is going to be a blast.

my bro and his gf and my parents are in town this weekend... should be an interesting dinner at my place tonight.
