| Too frickin' long entry
I like ink. I also like Naruto. He's so cool ^o^. And I did the sketch of my D&D character in said medium. Sai, aka Sailaam, is a disgruntled youth half-elf, vegatarian, drum playing, part time Thor-worshipping, wannabe barbarian, chaotic-nuetral fighter. Unfortunately he has above average intelligence because I rolled well enough. Meh. Can't have everything ^^**. Anyway, that's all. Now, lacking season 3, I need to rant about the OZ season two finale, so the rest of the entry is a mixture of spoilerific goodness and cryptic rantings you won't understand if you haven't seen it (which, by the way, I'm going to force upon certain people when I get home). Thus it's more for my pleasure than yours ^_~. First off, this is easily the most gruesome episode since the pilot, if not more so. When people die in OZ, they seem to die in bulk o.@. And it doesn't help that, despite everything, you can't help but feel empathy for the characters. It's bad enough with characters like Ryan and Adebisi, whom I'm nuetral about (although the whole Cyril situation is so sad ;.;), but then there are the characters I like. Miguel's in solitary, probably going insane. Yeah, what he did was horrible, but when all he has is his gang, how is he supposed to refuse Raoul? Poor Father Mukada as well ;o;. He too seems to get nothing but shit. Then there's Beecher, who I don't like persay, but I feel bad for him more than anyone. Watching him spiral into drugs and madness, and then Chris makes it all better, except Chris is a rotten scumbag and I wanna smack him. It also makes me want to smack around Schillinger (what's new there?), but Keller the most. To make someone love you then completely destroy them...grrr...such a bastard >o>. Of course, what Said did was so cool. I love how he's easily the most educated, most collected prisoner in OZ, but he still faces his demons. Then he turns down clemency...kyaa~~~, the look on the governor's face was priceless ^^. The way he's subtly changed over the course of the series is just amazing. The same is true for McManus, who has been far cooler now that he's tempered his idealism with reality. Although he needs to stop hurting Diane's feelings with all his self-righteousness, and just hook up with her. Not to mention replace the neo-Nazi CO with her >o>. Bastard. Oh yeah, and I wanna know what happens to Augustus. I mean, he can't escape or die, because he's the cool narrator dude, but still! The question is how.

| 'Cuz my words get in my way
It's that time of the month...no, not that time...social blogging time ^_~. First, that Michael Shanks interview had me rolling on the floor laughing. Thank you, and I hope you feel better. Next, I'm actually going to have to revise my opinion of frats/sororities/societies because of a conversation I had with Dahlia. While I don't believe they force someone to conform completely, they require the members to have a certain degree of ethical/behavioral standards. This, combined with the limited admission and "sorting" process, puts pressure on applicants to behave and think in a way they normally may not. Sorry that that sounds so heavy-handed and pedantic. To put it colloquially, if you wanna get in, you have to try to be what you think the society wants you to be rather than what you consider "yourself." The problem then is that very few people know "who" they are anyway, so societies then have an incredible amount of power in the shaping of an individual. But then, that's what a society does in the real world, so how is one in college any different or worse? Geesh, sorry for talking in circles. This is why I don't normally blather on about things I haven't figured out ^^**. Oh well. Anyway, I'm going to steal your beanbag chair if you don't watch out ^_~.

| I post....woo....
Yesterday was the big partay on campus, the so-called "Dyke Ball" where scanky is better and men are allowed in only in drag. I was about the only one on my floor who didn't go, but I've never been big on that kind of impersonal, over-sized party. In any case, I ended up chilling at Melissa and Jeana's, watching "Ghost in the Shell" and playing DKC2 (which I lurve ^o^). I may be an incorrigible loser, but I prefer that to doing shit to my body and leaving in an ambulance (which is another story I shan't discuss here >.>). Anyway! I now have three different types of pens, although my absolute favorite is still not working, which means I can't work on actual comic projects >o>. But I have been practicing! I did a quick version of Tsunade, the crazy, badass wench from Naruto. I didn't make her boobs big enough, but there you go XD. Also, there's a practice using Snake, because I always practice with either BoB or Snake ^^**. For some reason, it seems kind of yaoi-style o.@. Maybe it's the face-length or something... Oh, and I think it was you who was saying that people either really like/really hate the third "Naruto" opening? I'm neutral on it. It can't compete with "Haruka Kanata," which is, like, one of my all time favorite anime-songs, but it's not bad. And the ending is...maybe it's just the chibis, but I find it really darn cute ^o^.

Wow, this amuses me so much XD. I don't even particularly like Orland Bloom ^^. Anyway, besides that, all I have to say is I've gotten Kerry addicted to "Red vs Blue" so I'll have to DL season 2 now, rather than being a bum ^_~. And she offered to let me join her D&D game back home (home being about 30 minutes away) and she's a Penny Arcade fan XDXDXD. How have I known her for almost six months and not found out this shit already? I am t3h suck >o>.

Okay, I give up. I'm trying to improve my inking skillz anyway, so I guess avoiding computer art won't be that big of a deal for a while >o>. Speaking of, I managed to ruin two of my pen nibs, which means I ought to buy those expensive little buggers in addition to the ink and pen cleaning fluid I already need _o_. I dunno, I may try a different type of pen and see if those are a little less maintainence-intensive. But anyway! There's a new Inner Cynic which is suspiciously lacking in inner cynic ^^. Fyi, the guest star is my fencing team captain and friend, who's one of the coolest people here ^o^. And once again moving on, on a more personal note, I was feeling kind of overwhelmed this week (most likely due to the three fencing tourny-s in the past week and a half plus having to relearn time management after a month of no school and trying to help friends answer the big, existential questions), but now I feel chill. Meh. Story of my life.

Bah, I'm tired of the oekaki board eating my pictures. Fortunately, I had a bad feeling about it and screencapped the image ^^. In any case, I've decided I'm incompatible with computers...they hate me or something >o>. Anyway, somebody needs to take away my E-Bay privileges, because I'm far too compulsive...five doujinshi. Five _o_. There's a YYH one by Tohru Azumi, a Suikoden III one by Kuchibirukara and three Orphen ones by Akane Ryozuki (who has some serious Mad Skillz *o*). The good news is that the money's coming out of my "AnimeBoston" fund, and the bad news is...the money's coming out of my "AnimeBoston" fund >o>. At least I got them for good prices o.@.

You know, I really love "Naruto." Sometimes I forget how much I love it, but the love is always there ^^. Kind of like, um, cancer, or something. Anyway, despite my best efforts, I not only wasn't antisocial this weekend, but I also got ahead workwise in most of my classes o.@. I still feel exhausted from getting up for the fencing tourn-y >o>. Right. While watching PotC for the five-billionth time, I knitted and drew a picture I've been meaning to draw ever since I played the Splinter Cell demo ^^**. I'll probably finish it eventually if I can decide on a medium _o_. Why am I so tired? x.X

omg theyre making a hellblazer movie and it stars keanu reeves as constantine and for some reason i dont know what i think about it except im really nervous slash excited except maybe not and my brain hurts. BREATHE!! o_@...Okay, so now they've made two of my favorite comics into movies...all that's left is "Swamp Thing" and "Sandman." I'm still not sure about this whole "Keanu as Constantine" thing, but Adriana has kind of converted me to the love of Reeves o.@. Sorry...John Constantine on the big screen...he's on my "Ultimate Badasses" list, 'cuz he's, like, really badass...o.o. Must not pass out, must not pass out.

Wow, they are pretty stupid ^^. I wish I could have seen the spring concert. Is it true Mr. Ed wore 'tails? Anyway, I think I'm going to like my classes. Kara and Irena are both in my Logic class, and while I miss Hodge (the infamous Russian teacher) horribly, Olga seems nice enough, and my CompSci teacher is just so...passionate ^^. He explained how he had a vision of himself coming to class and having all of us cheering like at a rock concert and waving our lighters, because we were so excited to learn XD. When people care so much about something, I want to care about it, just to make them happy. So if I can get into a lab, it'll be definite good times ^^;;. And on a non-school note, I've become a hardcore Naruto pimp. I invite people into my room, show them "Ninjas of the Night" and the first five episodes, and they just keep coming back for more *cackles*. On the other hand, I personally am suffering from Oz withdrawal (damn you BitTorrent!), and am consoling myself with Stargate and Monk ;o;. Hey, I admit I'm a tv junkie. I have to watch as much as possible before I start having real homework assignments >o>.

I have a shameful secret to admit: I'm completely addicted to "Oz" ^^***. I mean, at the end of the first episode, I was just like "Oh, holy shit, I never wanna go to prison," but as the series continues it gets so good. While not really uplifting or optimistic, it has this great message about human nature and the real affects of prison. And the characters are so human that, you may not like them, but you still feel for them. For example, I never thought I'd feel sorry for a neo Nazi played by anyone except Edward Norton ^^;;;. So yeah, good times...or not o.@.

It's a balmy 37 degrees up here, which is good, because my key card had been deactivated over the break and I would not be happy if I had to stand outside banging the door in single digits minus wind-chill >o>. But I'm happy to be back (munniiiiinnnnnnn~~!!!), although I can't leave the dorm until tomorrow ^^**. No worries, I have "Ronin," more "Stargate" to catch up on, and mah PS2, so I am absolutely content XD.

| Mostly art stuff
Well, I leave tomorrow, and I'm filled simultaneously with trepidation about the weather and a desire to see some peeps...and replug in my PS2 ^^**. Having said that, here's some art. Expect a pretty big update for "Blue Waters" once I can access my computer with all the html on it. Anyway! First there's pencil practice with Collin and Sven from Triple Strike and a dragon kid, whose design I rather like. Also there's a practice at inking of Sean Bean's Boromir, which I can't decide whether I like or not, but I am pretty fond of this practice at sitting and ink, and in color. Some pretty glaring errors, but hopefully I'll forget about them and you won't notice ^^***.

I'd just like to point out that, right after I typed the previous entry, I went to the playroom and flipped on the light, which promptly burned out. I, meanwhile, screamed "It's the evil bunny man coming for my soul!" (or something to that affect) and had to have my mom accompany me as I changed the bulb. I admit the idea of "Donnie Darko" was pretty cool, but I'm never watching it again ^_~. There's just something scary about bunnies and clowns ;o;.

Since I was in the hospital with my grandma all day, I actually did something more productive than Suikoden III, watching creepy movies with people in bunny suits and/or werewolves and vampires in lurve or playing hide and seek at 2 o' clock in the morning. Namely I worked on Triple Strike, which is kind of an "oh, yeah, I need to work on that" thing ^^. But I can post this. Yes, I'm a bad person, but puns are like meat to me ^^;;;. And Geddoe...well...he's not up to "favorite character" status, but me likes his design as well as his Auron-complex. I want to huggle him ^o^.

| Sweet gaming goodness *flutters*
Oh hey. Long time, no type o.@. When not spending time with t3h family, I've been playing Suikoden III compulsively. So before I get more into that, here's a new Inner Cynic. All the ICs are founded on real life thoughts/experiences, but this one is practically verbatim. That's my bro substituting for my inner cynic, and irl he's watched me play a good 10 hours of gameplay, while asking my constant questions for the parts he's missed XDXDXD. Ah, sweet irony. Anyway, I can't really compare it to the first two games, since I've not even seen the first, and have only walked around in the second, but 3 is goooood. It takes me to a place of gaming bliss, like only a handful of RPGs (and Mario Kart) have ^^;;;. While no particular character stands out, the way they interact is so...joyous...I suppose. It makes me happy ^o^. And with sparse random encounters, even the side-questy, filler type stuff makes me happy. The battle system(s) are quite well done, and I love the emphasis on skill points and weapons upgrades rather than levels. Quirks include the occasional wacked-out camera angle (but, hey, when do I not bitch about camera angle?) and the really strange battle music (it's so light hearted and bouncy o.@). Still, the intro theme, called "Love Eternal" or something, is all epic and purdy and with 108 characters to collect, it's like Pokemon without the imperialist undertones. Hey, don't try to tell me that enslaving innocent woodland creatures in little balls then forcing them to fight so that you can gain prestige isn't imperialism ^_~.

Graaa...I let a neighbor kid borrow my PS2 memory card, and he still hasn't returned it, so I can't play PS2 games >o>. Not that it really matters, since my brother's been monopolizing the console whenever he's home ;E ;E ;E. In any case, here's a quick sketch of Chipp from the Guilty Gear series 'cuz, well, he's Chipp (mrow =9). And a koma based on Vagrant Story, because, lacking PS2 memory card, that's my current game of choice...and I've been watching far too much "Queer Eye," but we won't get into that ^^;;;. Here's a rather amusing and accurate review of FFX-2 (as far as I can tell from the three-some hours I've seen/played of the game). I know it's kind of late to be jumping on the FFX-2 scene, but the guy uses the word "ass-tastic" which is a sign of a damn good review in my book ^^. In other news, while I didn't get to play TA with Dras and co. (although I did get my ass kicked in single-player mode _o_) because Aaron is a lazy bum, I got to see the beginning of Macross Zero and all of Red vs Blue. So....it's like a puma? XDXDXD I should have seen it sooner, I admit it ^_~.

Our family has postponed Christmas celebrations until my grandma gets out of the hospital. The hope was she'd be out by today, but everyone at the hospital with the authority to discharge her has already left for the holidays. Ah well, the joys of bureaucracy ^^. But the good part is that both she and my dog are still alive, which is more of a Christmas gift than I was expecting. Anyway! I did an inking of Vimes, which I was intending to color with marker, but it kinda sux0rd, so I'm debating whether to finish it on the compy or just give up ^^. I just really like how his right hand turned out, even if it's bordering on yaoi-style size ^^***. If you can tell which book inspired the pic, I'll...er...glomp you ^o^.

| Forgotten and absolved to the earth below
I've packed up the PS2 and tablet, and I've seperated out everything I'm taking back. munnin, as much as I love him, can't come, and already I'm missing him ^^;;;. A few words on RotK, without any spoilers. It's an amazing movie and I enjoyed it tremendously. The third book is, in my opinion, the most dramatic and emotionally moving of the three, and the movie handled that pretty well. Still, I felt they down-played the drama in certain scenes. For example, in some parts of the book, I was crying too hard to read, whereas watching the movie, I just got all teary-eyed ^^;;;. Still, it made me very very happy. If nothing else, Howard Shore rocks my world. XDXDXDXDXD. Wow, I'm looking forward to going home ^^. Puppies!!!

Bwah. I'm so done with this semester, it's not even funny XD. Anyway, the intro to "Devil May Cry" is pretty awful but the hack 'n slash action is a pleasant change from turn-based RP or tactical espionage crap (although I still want to buy a GC just for "Twin Snakes"....okay, and "Double Dash!!"). Although it's not entirely fair to "Vagrant Story," DMC's setup is how VS should have been. In any game consisting of one long dungeon crawl, complete with zombies and creepy/non-existant music, it's only fair to reward people for the number of baddies they off. And....RotK tomorrow ;o;. I'm nervous becase a) I want to see how they handled the adaption and b) because I'm organizing, and I get OCD when I organize >o>. So now I'm all jittery and trying to calm down enough to get ready to leave on Thursday *bounces*.

Two papers and an exam down, one exam to go....oh, and here's a picture of Uriel. So I kinda spent money I don't have on Christmas presents for my family >o>. The local Sam Goody is going out of business, so most things are $10 or less. I bought some Medieval chant and choir music and a Faure cd...and "Devil May Cry" for myself, 'cuz at 10 bucks, I can get that back selling it to EB. I didn't get to play, because Emily had a "Pirates" showing, and they commandeered my PS2...get it?! Har, har...oh fine. At least here, people laugh at my bad puns ;P.

For j00. Supposedly Silent Hill 4 is to be released in late 2004. I think there will be a movie directed by Christophe Gans, who made Brotherhood of the Wolf. There was a hoax back in 2002, but this is more recent so who knows *shrugs*. Also there may be a novelization and anime based on Xenosaga. No surprises there; 'twas all friggin' cut scene anway.

Huzzah! If I can maintain my self-imposed schedual, I will not only finish both my papers, but also have time to study thoroughly for Russian and Bio ^^;;;. Even with all the distractions, I think it's still possible to get all the work done. For example, this evening: Emily: Hey, what'cha doing?
And then I went to the "Aeolus" Slam poetry party, which celebrated the publishing of Wellesley's arts and writing magazine, and lo and behold, both my submissions got in! I figured that they just publish all the submissions they get, but apparently there's a huge weeding out process, which means...people like my stuff ;o;. Anyway, the reason is that Ed has a very fluid style of martial arts. He's fun to draw in motion ^^. If I drew Spike from Cowboy Bebop, I'd be inclined to do the same thing. The game, fyi, comes out around Christmas, and it's on my list of "games I want but won't ever get around to buying" because I seriously doubt it'll make it to the U.S, and I haven't modded my PS2 yet >o>. And I thought the flow within the episodes is awkward, because a lot of the times, it drags out scenes that I think should have ended sooner, or the transition from humorous scene to serious (or vice versa) fails because the humor doesn't quite make it. It's not unfunny; it's just...lacking. I ought to give concrete examples, but I can't think of any off the top of my head ^^. Oh, and I don't ignore you. Admitedly I do skim, but if I see something that intrigues me, I reread then mentally file it away to contemplate. Anyway, I need to get to bed, but I'm so wired from the soy-nuts I've been eating. Bwah.

| Shinyshinyshiny!!
I was discussing a paper with my writing prof, and he made the comment that he was happy that I took his class (as you may or may not know, I had to fight, kicking and screaming to get in). Therefore, I've decided to get A-pluses on the last two papers ^^. I dunno, for me, that sort of compliment is about biggest motivation possible. There's nothing worse than letting down people who respect you. Ne, so if you guys think I'm letting you down in some way, just tell me so I can try to improve o.@. Anyway, I'm so completely infatuated with Nana Kitade's song, Kesanai Tsumi, which is the ending theme of "Full Metal Alchemist." I'm actually not really big on anime music, but her voice is so wonderful, and it's got a really badass base-line and the siren-affect that I lurve ^^. I still like Haruka Kanata best, but this is damn close ^^. Oh, and I still prefer the FMA manga to the anime. Some of the filler is decent, but it doesn't flow as well, and the humor falls flat most of the time. I still want to see more, but I wish the manga were more readily available ^^;;;.

Wow. I remember now why I'm lazy _o_. I'm organizing a "Return of the King" viewing for the 17th, and for a while there, it was exceedingly complicated and confusing, but I think I've sorted everything out. Not only have I got the tickets in my little grubby hands, but I'm almost positive everyone can make it *knocks on wood*. Also, on my sacred quest from movie theatre to movie theatre looking for available tickets, I also discovered this badass art supply store. They have copics *o*. This is the first store in Boston I've seen with copic markers, and they also have Koh-i-noor stuff such as Rapidograph pens and inks *dies*. I was seriously in convultions. In other news...*claws eyes and gnashes teeth*. It was going to be an exceedingly cool pic, but somewhere between vision and execution...I kinda sucked >o>. I may eventually finish the magic swirlies to the point where I like the pic, but for now, I'm posting it because there's precious little FMA fanart as is, and j00 would probably yell at me if I didn't ^^;;;.

| The sun no longer sets me free
Last night was the first real snow. As in 5 or so inches in the night and over a foot by the end of the day. I badly needed to go into town for reasons that are too complicated to explain in my blog, but I guess I'll go tomorrow, if the buses are running by then >o>. In any case, several of my floormates and myself had a blast in the snow. We made a snow deer and played in the snow. Much making of snow angels and snow balls ^^. Definite good times. Besides that, Jack was kind enough to lend me his "1602" issues. The series absolutely rocks, but with a team of Gaiman, Kubert and Isanova how can you go wrong?? *o* Magneto's kinda scary (what's with that Tolstoy beard?!), but Petros is freaking hot =9. Mrow. Other things I really enjoy...Sir Nicholas Fury is the queen's "shield" and head of intelligence, Peter Parquagh (Spidey) is a cute widdle kiddy with several "near misses" at getting bitten, and Captain America is "Rojhaz," a native American XD.

Well, it must be pretty cold outside, because when I go out with my hair still wet, my braid freezes ^^. It's actually pretty fun. Geh. I ought to social blog, but mebbe later _o_. Anyway, all this watching of XS2 trailers has made me try my hand yet again at drawing mechs. The more I look at it, the more craptacular it becomes, but we all have to start somewhere, right?
