Oooh...ph34r the gothic layout ^^. My first pita layout is in honor of "Brimstone," one of the few shows on television that wasn't complete crap...and that didn't make it through the first season. Here's Zeke Stone, an ex-cop who was imprisoned in Hell for fifteen years, yet who can still can one-up the devil when it comes to witty banter.

Photos taken from here and manipulated by me...yeah, I gave 'im bitchin' Tyrael wings...what's it to you? ^^

Today was actually really good and I'll get back to that later tonight (assuming I don't play Xenosaga into the wee hours of the morning), but at the moment, let me just state that a Friday without PlanetFargo and Penny-Arcade is like a Friday without sunshine. *looks out window at pleasant spring day* Stupid sun.

Up your capacitance, bitch

Need to go back to finishing up physics/calc homework, but I wanted to post. First off, on Thursday, our orchestra kicked ass at UIL (all 1s), and we sounded awesome, it's just that the recording they did of us sucked some royal ass. >_>. They obviously had no idea what they were doing.

But, the good news is I got my new page of Over Easy, which is like Christmas every month ^^. I know I'm always plugging P-A, but it's 'cuz they're that cool! And I'm not sharing either, since you need to support them too...oh, just for kicks and giggles, take a wild guess what my current wallpaper is of ^o^.

And I must say, it felt really nice to receive all those compliments about my Snake vs Auron fight. Honestly, if I'd known gaining love and affection from people was that easy, I'd write more often ^^***. And you should know that shaithis is my hero. That is the level of bitter cynicism and ego-crushing cruelty I aspire to ^^. Wish they'd get better grudge matches though...

Oh, and since a promise is a promise, this is for you. Snake, you pansy n00b ^o^. Now, I must really get back to finishing up those assignments so Harper'll curve my test tomorrow.

Can't find my Calc binder....>_>

Okay...John DiMaggio is Futurama's Bender is the Scotsman from Samurai Jack is Wakka AND Kimahari from FFX is Odie (Gregg Berger who did Jecht also did Odie, coincidentally). And Phil Lamarr is Samurai Jack himself is MGS2's Vamp is Green Lantern is the guy from Pulp Fiction who got his brains blown out accidentally by John Travolta (I think). And finally Billy West is both Fry and Zapp Branigan from Futurama is Stimpy from Ren and Stimpy is Zim from the pilot episode of Invader Zim is Doug from Doug is the Dog part of Catdog is the red M&M?!

I think John DiMaggio's roles mess with my mind the most...does this mean I have to like Wakka more? ;_; Billy West's roles just amuse me ^^. To me at least, while Japanese seiyuu are fun to look up, the roles of English voice actors will mess with your mind. I dunno, maybe that's just the white, imperialist, Anglo-Saxon-centric dog inside of me talking ^^. Er...I'm technically white, right?

Why can't we be friends?

Oh, by the way, the previous entry was to settle any disputes about who would win in a fight...obviously me ^_~. Anyway, today was good. I got a pumpkin roll from Amanda *o*! And, and, my mom cooked spargel, which is German white asparagus, and is really, really good =9. Mmmm...butter...

Oh, and yes, Kaga's wardrobe is the shit ^^. His costumes are great for inspiration. And I am so not going to get involved. Grudges over food are a terrible thing ^^.

And finally, here's a bit of silliness from Xenosaga, which I'm not going to rant about, since Cy-kun and I already bored everyone at school with our discussions ^^. Also, I kinda want to either finish this one or do another like it with the same general idea...Kabuto is pretty cool. He really hasn't been in either 13 or 14, so I'm curious what his role is going to be, considering Kishimoto-Sensei has just barely touched on his past. And Kakashi...don't get me started! Just have a figgin' flashback already! Stop with the single-frame tantalizing bits of past ;_;. They mock my pain...

Time to finish up Latin...Aeneas is a fucking ass. If I were Dido, I'd bloody well cut off the dipshit's balls, shove them down his two-timing throat and send him on his way to Italy as Achates' bitch. Afterall, Ascanius can still reproduce and be the ancestor of the Roman race...Aeneas isn't necessary. *carefully rereads above paragraph*. Hmm, this may explain why I don't have a boyfriend...who's up for a movie?! XD~~~

The Decisive Battle

Two me stand motionless facing each other. One holds a SOCOM pistol with a silencer and laser sight, the other wields a long, pointy piece of metal, nearly as big as he is, that could conceivably be called a "sword." Beyond all reason and laws of physics, the wind is blowing from behind both of them

Snake: Nice shades. Are you blind or just trying real hard to look badass?
Auron: Hn. I only need one eye to see that your hair looks like it was cut in a dark room by a seven year old epileptic.
Snake: I cut my own hair!
Auron: Exactly.
Snake: (glares) Did you know I can snap a man's neck in seventeen different ways, only nine of which involve using my hands?
Auron: (glaring back) Did you know I can summon a black hole on the astral plane capable of tearing apart anything and everything limb from limb?

Snake raises his gun; Auron shifts his stance.

Snake: (grins) Heh. Nostalgia. Too bad I can shoot an entire round off before you can push the X button.
Auron: (grins) Hn. (gestures to blade) 'First Strike.'

Auron runs at Snake. With surprising speed, Auron swings his blade down upon Snake. The soldier manages to roll out of the way of the blow, but loses his pistol in the process. Auron, meanwhile, jams his sword into the ground with such force, that he doesn't have time to wrench it out before Snake comes at him, preparing to finish the dispute in hand to hand combat.

Vimes: (stepping between the two men)That's enough of this!

Vimes gives Auron an Ankh-Morpork Special, known as the "Friendly Handshake," that leaves him semi-conscious on the ground. Snake fares a little better when Vimes knees him in the groin.

Snake: (staggering back) That might have been painful if I hadn't been wearing this standard Fox Hound-issued cup.

Vimes, grabbing him by the mullet, demostrates an Agony Aunt's favorite.

Snake: Oh...that did it..(falls to the ground).

Two hours later...Snake and Auron sit in a cell, charged with "disturbing the peace" and "making me bloody mad." They are on opposite sides of the cell, exchanging nothing but death glares and the occasional impolite hand gesture. Both men are tempted to make snide remarks about the other's presence (yet again) in a prison cell, but both prudently keep quiet.

Vimes: (entering) All right. You've wasted enough of my time...and tax-payer's money...and other stuff like that. Someone's paid off your bail. You're free to go.
Auron: (rising) Obviously my sect has come to let me out. Probably have to save Spira.
Snake: (rising) Obviously the colonel needs me to pick up his shit again. Probably another terrorist kidnapping.
Auron: Why would they need you? They've got that little girl, Raiden, to do your job.
Snake: Hey, at least I didn't fail, where a pansy Blitzball player with a father complex succeeded.
Auron: (glares) I drink two flasks of sake a day. That obviously makes me more badass and angsty.
Snake: Yeah, well, I used to be an alcoholic and I currently smoke five packs a day. I've got way more issues than you!
Auron: Liver failure is much cooler than lung cancer!
Snake: Oh yeah, well at least Konami doesn't --
Vimes: Will you two shut up? The same person payed for both of you, so both of you can leave now.
Auron and Snake: (confused but with a foreboding sense of dread) The same person...?

A small...thing with a braid and a fin appears behind Vimes. Sparkling, it regards both men with a Not Pleasant grin.

Sharky: Nawahahahaha....I guess that means both of you owe me...*heart*
Auron and Snake: Oh shit...

I'm the wind! *woooosh*!!!

I shouldn't even be looking at this site, since it's pure speculation at this point and I haven't even touched Xenosaga yet (;_; four hours with no schedule is all I ask...even three >_<), so why am I even thinking about the Chrono Trigger universe, but...Chrono Break...how cool is that? All series should come in threes, and Radical Dreamers doesn't count, since it never came over to the US ;P. This may even redeem Square for pulling this FFX-2 bullshit...maybe not for buying Enix, but definitely the FFX-2.

Geesh, that's it...I'm gonna play the opening 30 minutes of Xenosaga, not worry about saving, then do my Calc homework. I can't take it any more! Farewell cruel world~~!!!

I don't get it...o.@

Weird...I've been playing with a potential new layout for my pita, and, at first, I was having trouble getting Netscape to read the HTML properly. I kinda gave up on it, and changed the image source for the purpose of uploading, and next thing I know the table fixes itself. I'm not sure whether to be happy or disturbed...In any case expect a (vaguely) new layout sometime in the near future. But I'm still quite fond of this one ^^.

Anyway! I have to go to this Destination Imagination crap later today, which won't be precisely fun, but it probably won't be too bad. It's more the principle of doing work on a weekend that gets to me. But at least yesterday was great...and taught me a valuable life lesson. Don't be stupid. Don't do stupid things. Don't say stupid things. I've decided people being stupid is the root of all problems in this world, so I'm gonna try not to be stupid anymore ^^. Easier said than done, I know :P.

And I luff you for all eternity, even Naruto volume 15 aside...although it doesn't hurt XD. But isn't Iron Chef kinda addictive in a way? It's like a bad soap opera with good food. How can you go wrong? ^^ Oh, and do share Haunted Junction manga when you come back, ne? We likes the Mephistopheles brothers. ^^

Start this off, with too many words...

Work for Idle Hands has moved. And there's a promised Hellsing gallery soon, which should make you happy, since not only is she an amazing artist, but also Integra is listed under favorite characters ^_~. Of course, I seem to remember her being very sloooooow to update, but it's gonna be worth it in the end ^^.

Bwah. Before I go to appease the Almighty Providers of Food and Shelter by doing my homework, I'm going to mention that j00 got skillz for finding nice art pages ^o^, and that I had a really great day yesterday. Everything just went so well...er...except for the parts that didn't, but I've already mostly forgotten those XD. I got to see some old geezers at lunch (<3 ^_~), and people liked my art and Calculus didn't seem like a time warp, where five minutes takes as long as an hour, and I remembered why exactly Soul Caliber II is the best 3-D fighter ever ('cuz it's fucking fuuuuuuuunnnnnnn~~~~!!!!!), and how much I suck at Guilty Gear (luff Chipp ;_;), and, and other stuff too. Yeah...good times ^^.

Oh, and Tokyo Pop announced the winners of the manga contest...my name is conspicuously absent...I demand a recount! ^_~. Yanno, I'm so not upset about this, I almost wonder if I'm in a state of shock or denial or something. Because, believe it or not, I have a very high opinion of myself and my art. Sometimes I wonder why people don't get mad at me for being egotistical. I run a webpage putting my art, some good, some not so good, on the web for anyone and everyone to see. If that's not egotistical, I don't know what is. The only reason I get so self conscious about giving gifts is that my mind always plays through the worst-case scenario, which is "awkward pause as recipient doesn't actually like gift but needs to say something polite as a matter of social form."

But anyway, my point is that I was (and am) extremely proud of the piece I submitted and, now that the contest is over, I'm gonna check the guidelines carefully to see if TokyoPop has any rights to the comic whatsoever, so that maybe I can post it on the web (since obviously all of you should read it too ^^).

Hmmmm....this seems to be a sufficient amount of procrastination....onward to homework!

Can't....title...>_o

Mwah, since periods were 36 minutes long, we didn't do anything productive today. In physics, for example, we played with the vandegraaff, which is basically an electrostatic generator. It was so great. Harper's hair was literally standing on end and we got some good pictures with his palm pilot/camera (apparently, Harper's a sys-admin outside of school, so he can afford lots of nifty toys ^^). And then we made Human Chains of Death that went into the hall as we waited for random passerbys to shock ^o^. I eventually got bored and settled for shocking my classmates XD.

Other good stuff happened besides physics (I feel so loved ^_~), and I think the orchestra concert went pretty well. Everyone seemed impressed, but I'll wait till I hear the recording before I say definitively.

Anyway! I have art! w00t! The first one is entirely not my fault. We swears it! And the second, of 71-hour Ahmed, was kinda to practice a more "realistic" style (but looking more closely, it looks exactly like everything else I do -_-). And it's dedicated to you for coming to the Dark Side of the Followers of Vimes XD *waves flag*. Jingo is one of my all time favorite Discworld books and Ahmed my favorite one-shot character. He's badass like Vimes only more smirky ^^***.

On another note, I like how the coloration turned out...so yeah, it's cool. I'm not depressed ^^. Although...*eyes PS2*...yeeeesssss my preeeeeciousssss...we loveses you...yeesssss...we will playssss youuu...Zohaaaaarr 00000wwwnnnZZZ j0000, yeeeeesss it doesssss.

Kos-Mos *____*

I have a funny story to tell...actually, it's more sad than funny, but you can at least laugh at me, if not just near me. So I wake up and check the district site and find that school's been canceled. So Drasnor and I head up to the EB in the mall to pick up a copy of Xenosaga around 11ish. Turns out the Fed-Ex truck was in Austin, but no word since. So we hung out for a while, I played the beginning of the new Breath of Fire game. Since I never played the others, can't compare it. The battle system could have been a wee bit more intuitive (as in I died early on 'cuz I couldn't figure out how to access items o.@), but it's a refreshing change from purely turn-based "push X" fighting.

Anyway! One thing lead to another and pretty soon it was 3 in the afternoon. Five fucking hours and still no Xenosaga. The Ups man came with X-box stuff and Xenosaga strategy guides around 2 (which made me cry), before we left ;_;. Dras needed sleep (he's got a virus ;.;) and I needed food, so we went home. It was very sad. I've never waited that long for a game...I've reached a new low. Everyone can now laugh at me >_<;;;

Anyway, I decided to be social so I called up Tomo and we watched the first half of Gravi (with a brief interlude back to the mall to pick up Xenosaga, which I now own and which now calls to me, even from here *.*). The first episode had me a bit leery. Schuuichi acts like a little girl and Yuuki was such a rat bastard, but then Schuuichi becomes cooler, and Yuuki a lot nicer. And so, yeah, they're cute ^^. And the other characters are cool too. So I like.

Gah...I need to social blog...but I don't feel like it o.@. All I'll say is that Q 0wnX0rs borg b0x0rs any day ^.~. And thanks to all that have taken an interest in satisfying my curiousity about the coconut song....*singing* big ones! Small ones! Some as big as your....*hangs head and edges away*

School's starting late, but I still probably should get some sleep...so I can finish up homework in the morning o.@.

So before I go, I'll just say I want to draw/color like this. Guwahh o.@. Actually, I don't. I want my own art style and coloring technique, but I want it to be comparatively that good. See what I mean? Geez, want, want, want. Maybe if I had half a spine, I'd go out and work for it, but it's so futile...just like life...*slowly watches thoughts in gentle spiral downwards crash into jagged Cliffs of Teen Angst and burst into flame* Yeah, I'm going to shut up now.

Random crap

There was a snow day today, which was rather nice, although I successfully avoided accomplishing anything productive. Hn. Don't feel like writing a post.

But I do have something to ponder on. Who invented the peanut butter and jelly sandwich? When you think about it, it's not that obvious of a combination. Jelly on a sandwhich? And why peanut butter? It's not particularly logical when you get right down to it.

Not like, say, peanut butter and chocolate. Who ever came up with that combination deserves a Nobel Prize in...er...Foodology. Truly life would not be worth living without peanut butter and chocolate.

And just a random question. Does anyone know if that song that goes "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" is that just in "The Lion King" or is it originally from somewhere else. How does it end?! Damn you Scar for never letting me know how the rest of the verses go!

I hate myself and want to die

Heh. I've always wanted to start an entry like that, but I figured people would get pissed at me for being such a drama-queen. And no, just for the record, I don't want to die. It's just a fun way to title an entry ^^***.

Anyway, don't worry, I kinda suck at rock skipping...I just kept doing it till I got one more than you XD. And, I must say, Tomo has an excellent creek (pronounced "crick" for y'all yankees ^^). If I paintballed, I'd say it'd be great for that, but I don't so I won't o_@.

Today I realized, even if I got Xenosaga on Wednesday (which I will if it's in stock, since if I don't, the partitioned "Xenosaga-fund" money will mysteriously vanish and I'll end up buying the game when it gets a green stripe and costs 25 bucks ^^***), I wouldn't be able to play until Spring Break...and then I'm expected to socialize *shuffles feet*. Dammit. ^^. Why yes, I love my friends...

Also today is my "catch up in Calculus" day so no piccies...yeah, today would officially suck except I can sleep in an extra hour tomorrow since there's testing for the underclassmen. Ha! I mock thee! When you become a senior, you have my permission to mock the underclassmen as well ^_~.

On another note, weather in the hill country is like a woman with permanent PMS. You never know what you'll get day to day, but you can be sure that sooner or later she'll rack you a fierce one. I mean, c'mon! Raining for three days, sunny and pleasant for two and then a sleet storm?! Make up your mind, woman! *coughs* Right. I actually don't mind, but remember people, don't brake on curves in ice. This friendly advice ironically brought to you by the one who doesn't drive, but it's still true.

Blah...I can't decide if I want to be manic or depressed...I know! Let's be both! Yay! Everything sucks! The world's going to hell! Woohoo! ^_~. Kidding.

And thus monsoon season ends...for now

Right. Yesterday. Our team got placed 1 out of 1, baby! XD Actually, before you scoff at this, keep in mind, we weren't the only team to sign up for this problem. However, we were the only ones to have the complete lack of sanity tenacity and persistence to make it to regionals. And we did in fact solve the problem within our time limit with a pretty good score of 190 out of 225. So there!

And we r0x0rd in Spontaneous. I almost wish we had competition so we could have fucking p0wnd their asses into next week XD (we usually bomb Spontaneous horribly, so that's why I'm so excited ^^**). We also got a "da Vinci award," given to teams showing outstanding merit or creativity, and that's the highest award they give at DI, so excuse me while I preen. (Still curious as to why we received a "da Vinci award," but it's good for one's ego ^^).

What this really boils down to is that, since we're going to state, now we have to actually work and make our device and presentation good, which means my weekends are still not going to be free through March >_>. Oh well, that's life for you.

Anyway, after getting home from the awards ceremony and a quasi-celebration at a Chinese restaurant, I intended to check my mail, practice mecha-drawing on my tablet and get a reasonable amount of sleep for church...but then I logged on AIM and ended up RPing with Abe 'till, like, I dunno...3ish o.@. Febuary 26 and March 5

d00d, I knew Chaos' voice sounded familiar. He's voiced by Hoshi Souichirou, who I'm sure you can appreciate ^^. I wonder about his English voice. I've heard Shion's, Kosmos' and some evil dude with a scar.

I think the quality's going to be decent but not outstanding. Kinda like FFX, though I hesitate to compare any game I have high hopes for to FFX...unless Auron's in Xenosaga. That would be acceptable ^_~.

Anyway, everyone needs to go now and watch Gamespot's one unlocked MGS: Substance trailer. I don't care if you don't play that game/don't play any games/don't have a decent internet connection. No excuses. Go now. Dave, in all his mullet-clad glory, wears a tux, which makes me so very happy. You have no idea...actually, you may, but still! Snaaaaaakkkkkkeeeee~~~~!!!! Test your might...

T-minus 36 hours to competition. We'll definitely finish at this point; I'm just hoping we have time for a dress rehearsal, maybe make sure our device can preform both tasks o.@. But I will admit today was a lot of fun. I so rarely hang out with my teammates these days; it's so great working, joking and cussing together. I gets me a foul mouth when I'm around John ^^;;;. But it's good times.

The DI meeting ended just in time for me to get home for Futurama, which means Calc can fucking wait ;P. It's Thursday night and the end of the first six weeks. Screw it.

Anyway, I ended up taking the physics test at lunch, which meant twenty minutes of studying during orchestra and asking Harper a question or two before the moment of truth. Still, I think I may pull off an A, considering Harper's mad grading skillz. Seriously. Harper is the coolest man alive. I wanna grow up to be just like him ^o^. I wanna eat chalk and raise chickens at school and make the valedictorian teach the class...and despite all this, still be able to get people to learn the material. I don't get it. It's physics magic or something o.@.

Nice layout. A little dark for my tastes, but it's still aesthetic. And Zell's a cutie ^^. Oh, and I laugh at your soap opera drama of solo and ensemble. It makes me feel so calm and sensible...as opposed to being lazy and...er...lazy O_O;;;.

Maa...I need to learn Unix top to bottom, instead of half-assing it. >_o. It's sad when you have trouble unmounting your cdrom drive >_<;;;;.

Think I'm just happy...

So I didn't have nearly as much homework as I suspected since not only am I completely clueless about Calc (I'm gonna ask for an extension since I missed Friday's lesson o.@), but I left my physics binder at school. I know the end of the six weeks is coming up, but hopefully Harper will kinda forget to make me take the makeup test >_<.

I know I'm absolutely screwed, so I figured I might as well enjoy today as much as possible. That said, ZoE is quite fun. It handles a lot more like any standard action game than a mech one, but that has its advantages (as in it's not frigging hard to master). And Viola is such an arrogant, cruel, self-serving heinous bitch. She's so cooool!!! XD. I absolutely love her ^^;;;;. Seriously, there aren't enough badass bitches in games/anime.

Speaking of badasses, here's Snake in a tux with an Otacon-penguin. Don't ask...it was kinda late when I drew it o.o. Also, here's my theory on MGS3 (which you know is coming).

Anyway, yeah, I figured you'd guess my opinion on Hisoka ^^. I'm rather predictable that way, methinks. And the rule of aging in anime/movies/media in general is that it's okay to get older so long as you stay pritty (and Tsuzuki is still quite pritty *.*). So he doesn't age per say; rather he...ripens...O.O. Why do I suddenly feel so dirty? ^_^

Now for more social blogging! Isn't highschool great? I think it's a wonderful reminder of why people should graduate and go to college. So they can get away from fucking morons. No, I'm not bitter ^^...although I can't seem to find my "In Utero" album, which sucks. Been listening to "Live from New York" all evening. You have yet to drag me into J-Rock, but at least we agree on US bands ^^.

I'm glad you listen to me on occasion. The only reason I nag you like some creepy old lady is because you do stupid shit. Really stupid shit. *glares* Sometimes, watching you is like watching a kid jab a fork in an electrical socket. Yeah, it's pretty damn funny, but you can't help but feel some pangs of conscience.

...Blah, I wanna do more scifi/realism than fantasy, but that means I need lots of reference material, which slows down the drawing process a lot -_-. I also want to change, in no particular order, my drawing style, hair style, blog layout and my inability to say anything without it dripping sarcasm and repressed bitterness at the world. Hey, I think I have what j00 got. Yanno, tickly feeling in throat, dry cough etc? Yeah, sux0rs...make sure to drink plenty of water! Oh, and, for the record, I think I prefer TatsumixTsuzuki to HisokaxTsuzuki, simply because Hisoka kinda scares me. I mean, geez, could he be any more effeminate? I figure, if you're gonna have a male character, they might as well be a little masculine. So there's my bias ^^. Yes, it's shallow reasoning, but there you go.

And you. Mwah. By the time you get through Jingo, you'll be a full-fledged follower of Vimes. Talk about badasses *o*. At least now you understand why I rave about him like some sort of crazed fangirl. See, I have good taste in 2-D men; much less so in the 3-D kind, but with the fictitious ones I'm dead on ^_~.

Anyway, besides my throat hurting, my thumb is still sore from today's fencing where a dude friggin' whacked it ;_;. That'll teach me to get lazy about hand position >o<. I'm very much tempted to whine about it, and the fact that today kinda sucked, but some very good things did happen. Good things such as partially deflated balloon-hearts from friends that have cards saying "No mercy! <3 Auron" XD. And reading the latest PlanetFargo, which never fails to amuse, and coming to the realization that Harper has a mullet (or it's "mulletoid" as he puts it), and conversations with my orchestra director that follow thus:

Mr. Ed: I got a new baton just for you guys. And Sarah got a new pair of shoes.
Class: Yay!
Me: Heh. You wish (shows him shoes)
Mr. Ed: Well, she got a new layer of duct tape.
Class: Yay!

I figure I have enough know-how in shoe repairs that I could easily get a job in an Indonesian Nike shoe factory working for 3 cents a week. So if college falls through...third world countries, here I come!

Oh man, I lovelovelove having such a crappy memory. There's like a filter on it or something that makes me forget all the bad things that have happened, so even though I remember the day sucking, I can't remember why. Good times, good times ^^. Oh, and at the moment I'm trying to figure out how to draw mecha/weaponry so no piccies for you. I sux0r something fierce x_X. God, this is when I wish I were male, since we all know testosterone gives you an inherent sense of how Things That Cause Big Ass Explosions are supposed to look ^_~. Try to deny it, I dare you.

Howdy-Ho...

JOs went well; I'm certainly glad I went. The venue had the worst possible location. The fencers were in three separate rooms (one of which was in another building entirely), which meant my couch had to run back and forth between Melissa's bouts and my own. Thank God Philip was only doing cadet epee, or else Ray would have had to go between three bouts.

I did semi-decent in pools with 4 wins and 2 losses, putting me at 45th (out of 150ish). In direct eliminations, my first bout was kinda shaky, but I pulled through (damn circle six! Damn it!). The second bout (to get into top 32), involved me getting tr0wned at 8 to 15, yaowch! However, while I was still semi-hysterical from the sheer ass-rapage of it all, the other girl's couch came over and said, not only did I show good spirit by never giving up, I also forced her to raise her game, which is the biggest compliment someone could ever give me, fencing-wise. When you're out-classed by someone with that much more experience than you (she was ranked 15th), that's all you can ask for.

Anyway, enough about me, let's talk ZoE2. Holy shit, I considered myself a mecha-purist-bitch until I played that demo (never played ZoE). The controls were simple enough that, unlike Armored Core (or even BattleCry to a certain extent), you can dive right in and, well, blow a fucking lot of shit up in very cool, very sweet looking waves of explosions XDXDXDXDXDXD. I'm such a hypocrite! I used to always sneer at GW and things of that ilk for the swords, but in ZoE, it's just plain fun. Let's not forget the grab feature. Dear God, the grab feature *o*. And since it's Kojima we're talking about, the plot will no doubt be very intricate/Japanese. But yeah, sorry Shadowcat, sorry Marauder, these mecha look fucking sweet. I'm such a traitor ;_;.

Oh, and finally, here's Kid from Chrono Cross. <3<3<3<3 Kid ^^. Even setting aside the fact that she's actually *spoiler*, she's such a badass XD. C'mon! You were so sobbing during the orphanage flashback...oh...you weren't...? Um, neither was I...obviously...Anyway, I may or may not add a background and stick it on my fanart page. I put in enough time to make it not quite "junk", but there are enough mistakes that I hesitate to "officially" post it as is.

Hey! You're posting semi-regularly! Now I can stalk you..er...eavesdrop...er...talk to you more easily...riiiight...hey look! Integra's over there! Yoink! *runs away*

Trouble ahead...trouble behind _o_

Waaah...yesterday I was showing Drasnor, who came over to help diagnose my computer (with Aaron tagging along) my bitchin' cool Elly skin and also some Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross ones I'd collected, when Aaron managed to delete my whole collection as he fiddled around with my tablet. I checked various caches for backups in vain ;.;. I was (and am) more amused than pissed, since, truly, anything Aaron touches will be destroyed.

Drasnor was nice enough to download 5 meg of skins, and quite a few of them were ones I have...er...had, but unfortunately, I don't know what his ftp account is so I can't find them ;_;. So basically, to make a long story short, never let Aaron within three feet of anything of the technological nature, and I'm a skin huntin'. Hurray for downloading everything in site ^^. This place rocks my world.

Anyway, no new piccies, just some old stuff I found while rumaging through my folders looking for Emrus stuff to no avail (Ricky, I found only miscellaneous piccies, but would you like them anyway?). I did however find a concept sketch from Lazarus Child, a very early Sven and Samurai Penguin, which is property Sean or 'ric or somebody not me ^^. Still very kickass. And, I found what is probably my first fanart ever.

It's also from Donkey Kong Country II, which is just plain sad ^^. But I loved Squitter and Rattly. I wish they'd brought back Expresso...but Squitter! My brother always claimed the Rambi levels, and I claimed the Squitter ones, so you can imagine the problems we had in the multiple-animal levels ^^. Weee....nostalgia...

Hookay, I am disturbed. I mean, really! I'm all about slutty-ass guys, but there's a point where it's just not cool. We're talking some serious 'ho-bag action...and on a different note, Sanzou has no right to look that frickin' cute o.@.

Sigh, I leave Thursday for Junior Olympics, which would be fun if I weren't completely stressed about Destination Imagination, since we're kinda preforming in one week but have almost nothing done x_X...speaking of, I need to finish up the script...-_-...

Not healthy behavior

Wow, I realize I was kinda incoherent ^^. But htmling all of Westlakean issue 9 will do that --. Anyway, although it's my policy to never draw people from series I haven't seen/games I haven't played, Shion in the promotional poster I snagged from EB was mocking me with her badass red gear and mind-blowing 3D rendering *head explodes* Why, God, why?! Oh, and Alucard from Hellsing, that actually turned out better than I thought it would...

Er...BraCra is scary o.@. He's like that dude from Detective Conan gone horribly wrong *backs aways slowly*. I wonder what they did to my Schuschu...O.O.

Oh, and about Rob's party ^^. Hee. I finally see what certain people are saying when they talk about disturbing lesbian orgies. I mean, damn! If I didn't have morals, I could exploit my beloved friends for a lot of money on E-bay...wait I don't have morals...Hey, Tomo, Ricky, wanna have a party? *insert maniacal laughter here*.

Oh, and I really like "Goldmember" simply for the frickin' sharks with frickin' lasers on their heads *sparkles*. Kyaaaa~~~!!! They were so cuuuuuuteee~~~!! I just wanted to hug them and squeeze them and feed them large quantities of human flesh *huggles*.

Yeah...I've liked sharkies ever since a third grade marine biology unit where we dissected a dogfish. I decided then and there I was going to be a marine biologist (like every other female does at some point in their life). Then, in highschool, I realized that would require large amounts of chemistry, which I despise with a burning passion. I figure, if I'm an artist in this life and a marine biologist in the next, all my goals will have been fulfilled and then I can reach Nirvana.

Oh, and I need to some how acquire my harem of fictitious males in real life, but that's going to be a little more challenging. Hey, if any of you see a middle aged man with his right eye scarred over and carrying a really big flask of alcohol, tell me, okay? Please? o.o

They're dancing!!! *o*

Wow...today has been...just wow. This has been the best day I've had in, like, well...er...stupid short term memory...but it was still damn good! There was a surprise visit from a strange and disreputable looking person at lunch (stop by more often, ya bum!), and Calc, despite dousing my brain in napalm and throwing it off a cliff, was fun simply because Mrs. Clayton was in a jocular mood. Oh, and a word to the wise, if you have any interest in taking Calculus, do not take trigonometry and geometry for granted, it will bite you in the fucking ass *dies*. But! In multimedia class, we're finally diving into 3D rendering, which is why I took the class in the first place, and despite me sucking, perhaps, one day, my dream of skillz will be fulfilled. Eeek...I've a ways to go before I can do that --.

Still, it's a goal --something to look forward to...unless I lost my left hand. If that happened, I'd probably get suicidally depressed...either that or wear black leather ala Krycek and do cool things like thwart government conspiracies and alien plots...yeah...and I could get lasers for eyes ^o^.

Anyway, back on subject, when I got home, I'd finally recieved my "Shonen Jump" containing my favorite issue of YYH (the tanuki story), "One Piece" badassness, and three panels of Kakashi~~~!!! Weeeee!!! He's so cooooooll~~~!!!

Also Bethel, the college I'm considering going to, has proposed giving me a thousand dollar art scholarship. Holy shi~ite! My mom was really proud too...I'd kinda hinted to her that I was considering a career in art, and while both my parents are supportive of everything I do, I really owe it to them to get a decent paid job so that I can support myself as well as them. Still, it'd be really cool if I could be a commercial artist...or a hermit, but hermits can't play video games.

Now it's time to work and finish up Health, "The Westlakean" and the rest of the stuff I need to do for my next "Blue Waters" update. And I probably should figure out how to do the Calculus shit. Damn secant....damn it to hell..._o_.

Ah....sweet System ^_____^

I did a quick doodle on my tablet of a very effeminate, very messed up Citan. Kinda OOC, but the piccy turned out pretty well considering how quickly I did it (and without a rough sketch). Unfortunately, I'm not very good at blood (or maybe that's a good thing, I dunno). Anyway, "The Highway Song" always reminds me of Citan; probably because of the line "Do you want me to try directing your night?" <3 Hyuga ^^. The song "Thetawaves" reminds me of Guilty Gear XX, simply because it talks about "a midnight ride," which is kinda like "midnight carnival" but not really, but since when has reality ever stopped me from thinking the way I do?

Anyway, hey you, if you really like "Alien" for the hunting-of-humans aspect, may I strongly recommend you see "Predator?" That movie's the shit XD! The stealth suit, the blades, the trendy dread-lock type things...Predators r0x0r! And "Predator 2" wasn't half bad either. No Arnold, but lots of fun with urban-guerilla warfare.

And yes, I know I get way too passionate about things, but I don't argue! I discuss rationally, politely, and with a minimum of cussing and throwing of furniture ^_~. And I can see your point. Like Suuichi already acts like a girl, but how would Yuuki treat him if he were a girl? I have a feeling Sanzou wouldn't do anything different, however ^^. Still, I'm not going to rain on your parade. What it comes down to with any fanfic is how good the writer is and the personal tastes of the reader. So the internet is big enough for everyone to be happy, methinks. ^^

Heaven or Hell?

First off, kinda a piccy of Rydia from FFIV. It really started out as a random anorexic chick, but then I added Leviathan and since FFIV didn't exactly have the most precise sprites, I figured it's close enough ^^.

Now! My opinion on gender switches is neutral to negative. I can appreciate them if they're done well (either fanfic or art-wise), but I really don't see the need. If you're going to change the characters that much, why not write/draw original (ala Arkie)? See, to me, when you take the characters and put them in new situations, that rearranges canon less than changing the characters themselves. But by that same token, I'm also neutral on complete AUs, where the universe itself is altered (ie going from high-tech to modern day), although I wouldn't mind seeing the Five Minutes of Happiness from Eva expanded upon ^_~.

So basically, what it comes down to is that I'm fickle and wishy-washy and don't really read fanfic anymore so why am I on a soap box about it? Perhaps the world will never know...

But, Neko-twin-dearest, might you send that link of the Saiyuuki story my way *nudgenudgewinkwink*? It sounds really cute, even if I'm not very fond of Sanzou and Gokuu. See, you like more twisted relationships than I (please correct me if I'm completely delusional), so I can understand why you'd like it. It's just...convince me, ne? Preferably with lots of nice fanart ^_~.

I like killing zombies....

I stopped by EB during lunch. Guilty Gear XX comes out tomorrow -_-. It's odd how I'm not at all excited. I mean, I should be, but I'm not. Guess I'm just not in a fighter mood.

However, I did play about twenty minutes of DMC2, which is kinda blah. The camera angles can be really tedious and, while the graphics are gorgeous, the environment isn't interactive at all, which is slightly disappointing.

However, I must admit, from the little I played, it's quite fun in a mindless hacking sort of way. I mean, you start whooping down on the swarms of zombies/monsters (draining their souls or whatever) and popping caps in their undead asses amid the swings of your oversized tooth pick and suddenly you can't figure out where the time went.

Woo for mindless violence ^^.

I did the Splinter Cell demo for all of five seconds. That might just be because the X-Box's controls are awkward for me (due to me never playing X-Box ^^), and I wasn't in the mood to take the time to figure them out. Still, since I'm never going to use/own a X-Box, I guess it really doesn't matter.

And you! I'm jealous of you! The dudes from Penny Arcade are going to a convention in Seattle. >_< Not that me meeting them would be much better. I'd probably just stand there, pointing, then collapse in a gibbering heap. Kinda like with Neil Gaiman ^^.

Ruuunn to the eeeennd~~~~!!!

*singing* Broken mirrrrrroorrr~~~!!! A millllllion shades of liiiiiiight~~~!!! Ha! You have your schmoozy love song and I have mine ^_~. And unlike you, I can't sing a lick to save me life. Ha! I defeat you...I think o.@...

Anyway, d00d. I already miss Cliff...he was my h4x0r buddy ;_;. This also makes me sad, because it's Amano and opera and it's 85 fucking bucks _o_. Now if it were Wagnerian opera, I'd have to go rob a bank or something. Alas *pines* ^^

But anyway, I've uploaded the pictures I took at Ushicon. Here are ones I'm sure you can appreciate. First, a very excellent Riku from the secret ending ^^, a Squall 'cuz I couldn't find a Zell, and Locke and Celes!!! *glomp* When I saw that there were FF6 cosplayers I acted like the giddy little school girl I am/was, and, in my haste, when I tried to take a picture, I forgot to take off the lens cap >.>;;;; They probably thought I was not quite right in the head ^^. For Nicole (if you read my blog!) here's a Sizer. I thought I saw a Raiel, but he had a strange wand and no hat, so I didn't take a picture ^^. Oh, and for you here's a Sanzou though no Gokuu (sorry!). There are some more if you care to peak in the directory, but due to a chronic case of laziness, I didn't take many pictures ^^.

In other news, I was beaten again by Melissa ^^;;;. On Sunday's tournament, she knocked me out to get into finals, and today, in a mini-tournament, she won again. Saa...I'm so going to have a complex. But I did get in a beat double deceive touch against her, which made Mike very happy (he'd been trying to get me to do feint disengages all day ^^).

Oh, and here's a piccy of my main man, Auron. He's one of the few reasons I have any interest at all in FFX, and the only reason I finished the game. And yes, I'm quite obsessed with charcoal at the moment, thank you very much ^^. It's fun.

I still talk too much

Waah...A-kon Ushicon was lots of fun. Even if it was much smaller than A-kon (^^), and the dealer's room didn't have half the stuff I wanted (Naruto volume 15 ;o;), they had quite a bit of good anime showing and some badass cosplayers. The game room didn't have Soul Caliber, so obviously it sucked (there was a Halo tournament ;P), but for some reason, it had Metal Slug (that was Metal Slug, right?), which kinda confused me.

At the dealer's room, I got more HunterxHunter and Tokyo Underground. TU has some of the cutest characters, not to mention the hottest bad guys (c'mon! even the stock guards!guards! are cute). And is it just me, or is Pyron Tseng's evil twin? So yeah, I shamelessly like it for kick ass character designs and cute art style ^^.

And I must admit, while I didn't find Naruto 15 or any Get Backers, I'm happy I got more HxH. Yeah, it's a little slow as they wander through the black market, but there are some pretty badass moments, and Gon and Killua are the cutest XD~~. Leorio is still my favorite, because he's got the scruff, but yeah ^^. And is it just me, or does Killua dress really jail baity considering he's, like, twelve years old?

Oh yeah, and I broke down and bought the "Art of Metal Gear Solid 2." Nyah~~~, don't mock me~~~!!! I was sorely tempted by the Xenogears art book, "Perfect Works," but I can get it cheaper if the mood takes me (and I get 50-something bucks ;_;). I love Shinkawa's style --it reminds me a lot of Amano's work, only more masculine/western. And unlike any artbook by Amano, I can actually afford Shinkawa's stuff o.@. Oh, and since obviously all of y'all really care (t3h sarcasm), my other favorite Japanese illustrator/artist is Kaneda. God, how I wish that man had a collection of illustrations _o_.

But anyway! I'm getting distracted! The point of all of this is that I did I piccy inspired by Shinkawa's style (only a lot suckier) of Aoshi-sama from Kenshin. It's charcoal, not brush ink, but, while I'm not terribly proficient at either medium, my charcoal needs the most brushing (har!) up on. And I'm almost positive I ripped off his pose from somewhere. I can't think of where. I'm sorry!

Oh, and I don't usually do online poll-type things, but isn't this odd?

I am heroic couplets; most precise
And fond of order. Planned and structured. Nice.
I know, of course, just what I want; I know,
As well, what I will do to make it so.
This doesn't mean that I attempt to shun
Excitement, entertainment, pleasure, fun;
But they must keep their place, like all the rest;
They might be good, but ordered life is best.
What Poetry Form Are You?

What's odd is that my second form is supposedly blank verse, which is about the exact opposite of heroic couplets (unless I'm completely stupid). See? I'm anal-retentive and easy-going. Weird...although I guess that would explain the schizophrenia....

I wish it were Friday....

Wah...this weeks been so busy, I can hardly believe how much has happened. However, I don't feel like taking the time to type it all down so the most I'm going to say is I went to a peace rally on Tuesday protesting Bush's stupidity impending war, and also that Amanda and I have decided that the best possible ice cream combination is Reese's peanut butter and chocolate ice cream with Reese's peanut butter-chocolate balls with Reese's peanut butter and chocolate shell topping. If we could somehow work in chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough, that would be Nirvana...

Anyway my buddy Cliff brought his ipod to school. d0000000d~~~~!!!!! ipod's are the shit *o*. If I ever have 300 bucks to burn, I'm so buying me one of 'em XD. Yeah right, Sharky, dream on. He played the complete opera house music from FFVI. It's so cool and makes me so nostalgic, and also reminds me why FFVI will always be the peak of the Final Fantasy games. And FFX-2 can blow me...assuming I were a man and had something to blow, but you know what I mean! Oh, and speaking of 01d s|<00l, is this not the most gorgeous picture? Edge looks pimp and Rydia's such a badass vixen, although Kain will always be my main man ^_~. It's all about jump, baby.

Art today consists of my interpretation of Mephistopheles. He's kinda a combination of the one from Goethe's "Faust" and the devil from the tv show "Brimstone" as I just finish "Faust" and have been rewatching my favorite eps of "Brimstone." Although the Mephistopheles from "Haunted Junction" is mighty cute, as you well know ^^. Also there's a doodle of Hel, a summon from the Weisse universe, which I did in my multimedia class when I was really bored. It's almost all filters as I didn't have my tablet and am lacking in the skillz when it comes to mouse drawing.

Oh, and speaking of multimedia class, I was looking up sound bytes from Xenogears for my Flash presentation and stumbled on this. It's the most delightfully inane I've seen all week. "I need his DNA to create my army of talking Scottie dogs." XD. If you haven't noticed, my two current video game interests are Metal Gear Solid and Xenogears since their sequels are coming out in a month ;_;. Oh, and this but that's not coming to console until August ;.; Spawn as a character is so random, not to mention he's got the dorkiest design for the game (it looks like he's wearing red leg warmers >_>), and while Heihachi looks pretty badass he doesn't have a weapon (?!) and I've never been particularly interested in Tekken. And Link...if I say anything bad about Link, certain people will kill me, but he does honestly look the best of the three, even if I have a problem with the pointy ears ^_~.

I suck...

The Buddhist temple we went to was absolutely gorgeous. They spared no expense, importing pictures and wood from Taiwan and hiring the best craftsmen to finish it off. I could really see the Hindu influence in the Buddhas --bright colors and poses of the statues/pictures just gave of this "Indian" vibe, while the architecture and spacing of the rooms was pure Chinese/oriental. It was incredibly beautiful, but I've already said that ^^.

The worship service was interesting, being mostly composed of chanting...have I mentioned I like chanting? And today was kinda special in that they had a guest from South Africa. Since the service was held in Mandarin, we got the translated version, which I'm certain lost a lot of the message. But afterwards, we talked with a student of the temple and a woman who explained the basic premise of Buddhism. It was very informative, not to mention fun. I kinda want to go back for the Chinese New Year celebrations, but I also want to go to Ushicon ^^. Why, yes I'm shallow. ^_~

Saa...on another note, you know what's humiliating? I'm in Latin V...we're reading the Aeneid. Last year we read parts of Ovid and Catullus. I made a five on the AP test. And yet I couldn't figure out the phrase "Eristis sicut Deus, scientes bonum et malum." It means "You are like God, knowing good and evil," but that's not the point. It's so simple vocabulary-wise and grammatically follows the English order, and yet I couldn't fucking figure it out. That's so goddamned sad, I want to beat my head against a wall. One of the few classes I think I'm actually learning something in, and I can't do a 1st year sentence. Normally I'd blame it on the education system, but I'm pretty sure it's just me being an idiot...Fu...

Have you ever seen a twenty dollar bill...on weed??

So I saw "Half Baked" and "The Birdcage" this evening. "Half Baked" was hilarious for what it is --a lowbrow stoner movie. It's kinda like "Trainspotting" without the dark elements meets "Dazed and Confused." I was quite amused ^^.

"The Birdcage" was funny but in a less mindless way. But then I'm kinda a sucker for drag queen movies...Priscilla, anyone? Still, I'd seen part of it when I was younger...a little too young to appreciate it, methinks, so I was pleasantlys surprised when I saw it this time. Nathan Lane plays a mean drag queen, and what's with Robin Williams and gay men? He's more stable than his character in, say, "Death to Smoochy," but that's not saying much. ^^

So yeah, it's good times, and I got a pumpkin roll from Amanda's mom! w00tage! And as an extra w00tage, tomorrow I go visit a Buddhist temple with my church's youth group, so that oughta be fun. Oh, and this is to a certain somebody who may or may not be pissed at me. Look, I'm sorry if I've been ignoring you, or you feel like I'm being a jerk. I'm not trying to blow you off; it's just sometimes I get this feeling that you expect me to pay attention to you 24-7, which makes me feel extremely tired and kinda irritable. So I'm sorry....and if you aren't mad at me, just pretend like this bit 'o conversation never happened, 'kay? ^^

Yeah toast...

Heh, Harper humored me and put on his vest-pants (don't ask) just for me ^^. He had such a look of long suffering, I almost stopped nagging him...almost...but then I did after all buy that great big role of duct tape for him ^^. Have I mentioned Harper's the greatest? After lunch, I'm always mentally gone, because I've already had physics, Latin and orchestra --my three favorite classes with my three favorite teachers.

Anyway, Thursday fencing is always the best. Phyllis is so lazy as the instructor that we always end up just free fencing ^^. It's great. So yeah, the morning started out kinda lousy, but today's been a good day. Thanks for being nice to me XD.

And I have to say thanks to you for letting me poke my nose in. I know it's public domain and all, but I still can't shake the feeling that I'm eavesdropping in a way. Not that I mind dropping eaves by any means ^_~.

About Sayuuki couplings...Gojou and Hakkai have such a sweet relationship. It's not overly sappy or overly protective; it's cute. I'm very fond of the relationship on both a slash and non-slash level. This probably isn't hurt by the fact that Hakkai's my favorite and Gojou's a sexy biznatch *o*. I have problems with Sanzou and Gokuu partially because I'm not fond of Sanzou beyond a purely aesthetic point of view and Gokuu deserves better. Also, if Gokuu weren't so damn chipper and cute, that relationship would fall into a lot of stereotypical yaoi coupling traps. The devoted uke and uncaring, almost cruel seme. It's far to gothic, and I dislike it for the same reasons I dislike most shoujo romances --it's boring and overdone.

And since this kinda leads into another thought of mine; I never disliked Miaka. Considering how much shit she goes through and her circumstances, how can you blame her? I've especially never understood the people that hate Miaka but like Yui. Yui's much more of bitch in my opinion. And Miaka's more typical shoujo heroine than Mary Sue. It's almost an archetype in itself. And, yes, my main complaint with Fushigi Yuugi and the reason I don't like it that much is because there was too much focus on Tamahome and Miaka and the rest of the characters got neglected. But that's the way shoujo works...that's why I like shounen better ^^.

Oh, and sorry, I'll try to get those finished up either today or tomorrow. _o_. Oh, and this is to all me buddies in Austin...anybody going to Ushicon? Lemme know, yo? It'd suck to go alone...

tuning him out with The kids aren't all right, Offspring

I need to shut the hell up...

Gah...my mom's mad at me for playing an hour of video games --. She seems to think that if I'm not studying, I should be fencing. Yeah, the JOs are coming up pretty soon, but still...I get maybe five hours a week of game-time; at that rate, it would take me several lifetimes to finish any decent RPG. Maybe I should get DDR just so then I can claim I'm getting some exercise.

And yeah, I'm out of shape. I admit it. It's just that the two stress relievers in my life are video games and art, and I'm not feeling particularly inspired at the moment _o_. I should finish up "The Westlakean." It's ridiculous how long these last three pages are taking me ;P.

But in other, happier news, I got the pages for Over Easy which is very cool ^^. I love Gabe's art style. It's very bold and colorful, and for some reason, makes my nostalgic. Don't ask why, I couldn't tell you...But anyway! Support Penny Arcade! It's the only comic I read religiously. There is no way you can ever get more badass than Cardboard Tube Samurai. XD.

And, since I feel asinine enough to try to throw in my two cents into a conversation I'm not really part of, it's really hard to identify canon Mary Sues. What do you think? For example, take practically any book written by Anne McCaffrey and the main female character will fit a certain stereotype. She'll be strong-willed, independent, protective, compassionate, blah blah blah. On the other hand, I don't think it's entirely fair to consider this a Mary Sue on McCaffrey's part. Yes, I think McCaffrey's putting a great deal of herself (or perceived self) into the role, but at the same time, the women are not perfect and have non-flattering personality traits. I seem to remember Lessa being quite bitchy on any given day ^^.

I'm not a writer, but I think it's impossible to create a character without putting something of yourself into it. Dorian's hedonist friend (I can't remember his name) from Picture of Dorian Grey is considered to be a reflection of Wilde's own perceptions of himself, and sometimes Milton is noted for his similarities to Satan from "Paradise Lost." Yet I can think of no one who would claim these are so-called "Marty Sues" or that either work has less value in literature.

Maybe I completely missed your point. I wouldn't doubt it. I'm just saying, original works have different standards than fanfiction. Fanfiction has a set canon so one can actually analyze and evaluate a story and quantitatively state how "in character" it is. With original fiction, it's no holds barred. A writer can do whatever the hell he/she wants. It's up to the reader to decide if they like it. Then again, the same can be said about fanfiction, but then I'd just be talking in circles ^^.

So now for something completely different, here's Solid Snake and....a Trojan horse and snake from my translation of Book II of the Aeneid. Hmm, I think this one is gonna be too hard to explain so I'll just leave it at that. Also, I've done Weisse, my original Valkyrie character. She's one of the harder characters for me to draw, because her eyes are supposed to be big, soulful, motherly eyes, and I'm not very good at big eyes. Still, I'm quite fond of her, even if she started off vaguely as fanservice ^^.

Derivations suck

Well, on one hand, because I chose to hang out at Drew's house all day yesterday, I didn't have time to go to Cy-kun's party, except to play through a few hours of Chrono Cross in the morning (I really want him to find out who Harle and Kid are --the look on his face will be priceless ^o^), but on the other hand, I got to see MGS2 in it's entirety...yes, I know it's sad that it's been out so long and I haven't played through it. But, while I enjoyed the first MGS, it wasn't a game I was completely obsessed over, and I'd heard enough bad reviews of the sequel that I didn't want to shell out fifty bucks for it. And me and renting just don't work. You should see the quantity of movies on my "to rent" list. It ain't gonna happen.

But yeah, I was extremely happy. Abe, it's too bad you weren't there when Solidus confronted Pliskin; I would have first given you a crushing glomp then punched out your lights for torturing me like that ^_~. See, Drew was only going to play through the tanker episode, but it takes an extremely sick bastard to leave someone hanging like that ;_;, so I forced him to finish the game. ^^** I luff you, Drew! *pauses* I luff you Snake ^o^! Hee, if Substance allows you to play as Snake through the Plant episode, then that game's gonna be frickin' perfect. And VR. Sweet, sweet VR....

Anyway, the point is, I've got a new, however temporary, fixation, which means, you got it! Fanart! Including Snake, Snake and, well, a Bender 404 message. ^^

That's about it, 'cept I feel really sorry for my orchestra director who's going to have to listen to my chair test. Sadly, when it comes to practicing, I honestly can't find it in me to care. I love the violin, but I'm the first to admit I'm not particularly talented and I'd just as soon listen to it as play. And my bird can chirp really fucking loud. Geez...it's just as loud as my playing in some portions >.> I'm so used to it, I automatically tune it out, but I pray that it won't give Mr. Ed too much of a headache. Hey, I said I didn't care, not that I wanted a low chair ^^.

By and by, you and I...

"Dead Man Walking" was better than I ever hoped for. I found the music absolutely gorgeous, from the opening theme, with is dark foreboding, to the uplifting hymn that was sung a cappella at the end. It was so very powerful and emotionally charged.

The most poignant scenes, the victims' families' accusasions of Sister Helen and the final walk to the chamber, blended surprisingly well with the genuinely funny moments. "I've never given no ticket to a nun before. I gave one to an IRS agent once. My taxes were audited that year....I think I'll just give you a warning"

Being a modern opera, it has more disturbing scenes than I'd expected (such as the rape in the beginning or the frequent use of the "f" word throughout), and to a certain extent, the staging was a little to "nouveau" for my more classical tastes. That however didn't detract from the over all feel, and I can honestly say this is one of the best operas I've seen; certainly the best modern one.

So yeah, I'm quite pleased. And on another note, Manji is a badass, and I'm glad I spent the sixteen bucks on the "Blade of the Immortal" graphic novel ^^.

Don't want to title...

Decided to archive just for kicks and giggles. Anyway, the Physics test was...dare I say...easy??? This is bad; it's never good when Physics seems easy --that's a definite sign I'm going to fail. But then again, there's that Calc test on Tuesday; maybe I'll just fail that ^^. Ah, school. I'm going to get caught up this weekend, which means it isn't going to be that great. ;_;

On another note, I'm going to see the opera "Dead Man Walking" tomorrow. It's a modern opera, and being the purist bitch I am, I have reservations about modern opera. I did like "Candide," but that's almost more a musical than an opera. The thing about more recent operas is that they seem to lose the melodies and ear-catching tunes and replace them with dissonance and these just plain grating chords. Hell, that's my main complaint with most modern "classical" music. Elgar's about the latest composer I like, and besides that, I prefer movie music and stuff of that ilk. However since I'm so adamant on the issue of capital punishment, I'm sure I'll like "Dead Man Walking" just for that aspect. ^^.
