Sunday, February 20, 2000 Check out the stylish CYBERCAP[tm], which they say are "Sunglasses for your brain"(tm). There's also the FARADAY CANOPY "Low E-Field Enclosure." Finally, a "Faraday Cage" type enclosure to completely shield yourself from E-field radiation so you can sleep peacefully at night. No need to worry about hidden power lines emitting electric fields from walls, ceilings, or floors--you're surrounded by protection! At last! Surely $300 is a small price to pay for such shielding power. Saturday, February 19, 2000 Particularly enjoyable are Batman and this pear-headed child. There's also this one, which looks like a heart-shaped Peter Gabriel next to a heart-shaped villian from those old movies where bad guys tie women to train tracks. Monday, February 14, 2000 I found this image of the band Blink 182 on Yahoo. It probably has something to do with the fact that I'm not a disaffected skater punk or a Top 40 enthusiast teenage girl, but I find this band utterly awful and hilarious to watch. One of their videos is a parody of videos for "boy bands" like Backstreet Boys and N'Sync--it's rather sad that the band and its fans don't realize that the punk-lite that Blink 182 churns out is much closer to Backstreet than real punk acts like Bad Religion or Black Flag. Just look at the image and try not to laugh. Monday, February 14, 2000 Monday, February 14, 2000 Wednesday, February 9, 2000 This is a Japanese parasitology website. In addition to the fact that it's inherently creepy in the way that a lot of Japanese things are, there's some really odd and funny stuff here. Check out Decmber 1996's "Parasite of the Month," Strongyloidiasis. There's also a "Parasite of the Month" archive. Perhaps the strangest part of the site is the "tour" of the Meguro Parasitological Museum in Tokyo. Be sure to click through the entire tour, it's quite worth it. One page that's especially hilarious is the Diphyllobothorium nihonkaiense, which they claim to be the "most famous parasite in this museum." This worm is 8-m long. You can really imagine the worm length by using the string which is the same size as the worm. There are so many lovers to take a pecture in front of the worm for their memory. For some reason, it doesn't shock me that Japanese people would do this. Tuesday, February 8, 2000 |
