TVparty!
This site is freakishly detailed when it comes to TV of the past, especially of the 60's and 70's.

Here's the super cool 1988 Saturday morning cartoon schedule. I remember just about all of these shows, as '88 was probably the peak of my Saturday morning cartoon watching period. This was a golden age! Just look at some of what was on over the course of five or so hours: "Pee-Wee's Playhouse," "Kissyfur," the "Alf" cartoon, the new "Chipmunks," "The Real Ghostbusters," "The Gummi Bears," "Garfield," and the king of them all, "Muppet Babies." Damn, I wish that my parents wouldn't have taped over all of those cartoons I taped on our BetaMax VCR all those years ago. I guess it really doesn't matter since they've since thrown away the VCR. I had a factory copy of the "Voltron" pilot for Beta!

There's also this picture of Bozo the Clown with what appears to be his 'posse.'

Attorney at Law - Michael T. Rengel
This man has stolen my name! Granted, the middle intial is different, but it's still weird and kind of annoying.

Telenovelas and politics
I found this site via a Yahoo search for Brazilian TV. It's a discussion of how what takes place in the telenovelas (soap operas) can influence what happens in actual politics.

Here's a picture of Jose Inocęncio, the main character of the telenovela "Renascer" (Revival, Rede Globo, 1993). He looks rather disapproving, perhaps of the Congress, of which he said: "The best solution is not to close the Congress, but to clean it, to get rid of all the crooks and throw them into jail". This statement of the telenovela's character was later on included in the political advertisement of a political party.

Brazilian B9 Online
This site's description on Yahoo says "offers the Ovomaltine Brazilian B9 Robot toy." What's Ovalmaltine? It sounds like Homer Simpson saying "Ovaltine." According to the site, it's the Brazilian version of Ovaltine. And in the late 1960's, they produced a crappy version of the robot from "Lost in Space."

"It's a good thing they had a robot like this around for protection. You should too."

"Manufactured in 1968 with the period technology, this rustic toy was designated to Ovomaltine's advertising."

Mark Linn-Baker fact sheet
Today I happened across an Episode of "Full House" where Mark Linn-Baker (best known as Larry on the wonderful sitcom "Perfect Strangers") plays a cousin of somebody or another. That got me wondering what he was up to lately, it seemed like he just dropped off the face of the Earth after "Perfect Strangers" ended. So I found this really short bio on him. It turns out he was born in St. Louis (my hometown area) and I didn't even know it. I still don't know what he's up to currently.

There's also this Australian "Perfect Strangers" webpage.
Make sure to check out the totally groovy theme song.

More fun can be found at the Larry Quotes page.

Emus!
I'm in hog heaven! Thanks to my friend Sam, I found this brilliant site full of video game emulators and ROMS. Now I can use the SNES emu to play "F-Zero" for the first time in years, and I can relive my freshman year of uni by getting "NBA Live '96" for the Genesis. Woo-hoo!

Tom the Dancing Bug
I have no idea what the title of this comic has to do with anything, but it's still a great read. This week, author Ruben Bolling does one of his trademark "comics page" strips. Just go and check it out to see what I'm talking about.
