Tired..? So what else is new?
(Monday, January 19, 2004, 05:05 p.m.)

Dear ppl,

Today I visited Baghdad Burning and read about the scary reality of a Democratic Iraq. How come when democracy is suppose to be good for the Iraqis it only provide room for the men to repress women. Religious discussions aside, this begins to show the true color of the Arabs (no offence intended). In the Arab countries that repress women, if you read up history you'd notice that they treated their women worse before the religion Islam started. Why? Could it be their culture to act so? If so why is it the Americans so eager to 'free' them from Saddam. I mean, Saddam is a different cattle of fish all together but what I question is the Americans taking this new ruling standing down. The new rule will destroy Iraqis women's rights.

But what do they care. They have a different fish to fry. The Americans are after the other Arab countries. To remake the Middle East I believe. So stupid but that's the truth. You see, the joy of being God is the ability to arrange matters to your whims and fancy. Excuse me if I'm wrong but the last time I checked, the Americans are not Gods. Now that we understand that basic principle of God-likeness, can we stop the American Government from trying to force their will upon others. That's sick and it makes them bullies.

In school what do we do to bullies? The last time I had to deal with one, I ignored them and walked away. When pushed become shove I say very cruel things that makes them turn their tail and run. Whan all fails, I fought. I hope the Americans realise this before they become the victim to the Government policy maker victim. Because when the back lash happens, everyone classified as acomplis will share the pain. Witness the 9/11, some celebrated because they feel that it's time the mighty feel the pain. I lit candles in honor of their memory. When the innocent pay the price of other people's crime. That is so sad.

As I looked at the world, I wondered, "Is this the world I want my children to live in. Where peace is so fragile and there is so much uncertainty." Sure, in my corner of the world, I can live in peace but for how much longer? I wonder, will there be hope for tomorrow or must I bury my head in the ground? Pretending that everyting is alright and that I am assured of my own freedom. Justice is never just a word, it an act. Have you done your part in your corner of the world?

Love,
Julie.
