Boring Same Ole Thing
(Thursday, December 11, 2003, 02:36 p.m.)

Dear ppl,

The reason my posting has been so... sial(crappy) lately is because the internet connection at the office has been mostly off then on. So usually as soon as I get online I will rush to Warblogging. This blog is good cause it gives me a different perspective view than the typical media. Plus it has lots of links so that I don't have to run around to search for information.

Secondly, because the 4th Quarter is ending. It means piles and piles of report to compile. Then there are the secretaries to calls. Thankfully, today I talked to only one battle-axe and the rest of the ladies are perfect angels:) They say all CEO secretay is like that (the battle-axe), but you never know. Some are really nice. Finally, my report was sent back from the ED and he says the report is too long. I have to toy with the whole report to somehow make it concise but not abrupt. Hm....

Just finished the performance evaluation informal discussion in my office. Everyone decided to camp in this small room and discuss how to say things in a politically correct way:) Have to prepare evaluation soon. Yuck!

Detail work pains me. Making sure that people send in the correct information is a pain. At least I have the 80% compliance rate. There's several companies that still hee-haws*picture a donkey whining* the whole prosess. I wait for the Big boss to sound his wrath at the meetings:) Evil but I can't wait.

After 1 week of calling companies I can say, one thing for sure, you companies sure are creative. I hear the tinkling sound of carousel, classical music, sexy male voice whispering advertisment, product advertisment, pop songs (cool) and even nasyid(religious songs). Holding the line, I constantly laugh at the strangeness of the whole thing. I of course liked the sexy male voice after getting over the creepyness of the whole thing^_^V

That's it, I want to read the rest of my daily blogs, news etc. BTW did anyone try to access the BBC news hard talk that I linked to my blog a week (or two) ago. The video is still unaccessable online. Dunno why??

GTG, later....!

Love,
Julie.

Mean mean witch!
(Wednesday, December 10, 2003, 11:57 a.m.)

Dear ppl,

I know I have a lot of company to call today but the calls I made this morning is enough to send my blood pressure to the roof. Lets start the rant so I can calm down and call the rest.

As you know, currently I'm calling up CEO secretary to find out about the details of the form that they were suppose to send in on the 5th December. Yesterday, I finished all the phone calls quite late and I was so tired, I decided to vet through the rest of the forms the next day. Today, I went through the forms and found >10 companies sent in the form with error.

The first secretary I called was very nice enough to fax everything over again, except I still couldn't figure what on earth did she scribbled in the colums. If you can't type up the form, could you at least write in block letters. As it is Alexander became Alexacder. Milberg became Micgerg. Scrawl some more, I'll use exacatly what I decipher and let your CEO blow his top.

Then there are secretary who said, "I'd get back to you." Again I wouldn't hold my breath. I suggest you wait for the letter from the Association. Bah! Then the CEO's name will be mention in the meetings and your a$$ will get a good kicking after this. Why? Why is it so hard to make up your mind about preferences. It'e either attach the file to e-mail or get the subject listing.

Then one secretary reverted my call to someone totally not related to the system. What is wrong with this woman? The form was signed by the CEO thus she was the person that faxed the form back to us. Why god why???

The worse part was that since I'd be dealing with them again in the future, I cannot quite piss them off. No sarcasm at all. I have to behave myself or else be barred from the CEO the next time I call.

I still cannot understand why the secretary cannot understand the CEO's style of working by now. Unless the CEO constantly change secretaries (due to incompetance/age/what ever else), don't you think that you should know how that man operates? I worked with my current boss for 5 months and at least, I understand some of his work pattern.

Some really good secretaries just answered my question and better still called up before the deadline for clarification before filling out the form.

I'm beginning to act like one of the mean people who like to think that secretaries are nothing but a decorated ball of fluf without any brains. So evil of me. There are some really good secretary that knows the ins and outs of their boss mind. I guess the mergers jumbled their brains. I should give them a chance I know. *sigh* I feel sorry for them now. It is quarter ending, but that's not their job, right? That's the executive's headache. Forget it. Let's keep on calling.

Later...

Love,
Julie.

Shoot Her, She's A Secretary
(Tuesday, December 9, 2003, 05:24 p.m.)

Dear ppl,

Start ranting!

I had to call about 20+ CEO's secretary pertaining to some registration form that was sent to them, due last Friday. The result?? Let' see:

2 CEO has gone on a holiday trip. The Vice-CEO (if such thing exist) is gone on a business trip. The secretary wrung their hands and asked for an extension. I gladly gave them the time extension but as soon as I put down the phone, I(figuratively) banged my head on the wall. Why God? Why does the powerful CEO's, the movers and the shakers, choose such twits for their assistant?

More than 5 secretary *forgot* to fax the form to the company. The say, "Woops..., my bad. I'll fax them now." Lets see, its 5.30p.m. and I haven't seen the head nor the tail of the fax. I called them at 3p.m.

Next are the people who said, "Oh, we just received the hard copy today." Lady, my boss e-mailed the whole thing to the CEO in November. Tell your CEO to jump into a ravine. Luckily they agreed to send in by this Friday.

Finally, one CEO answered the phone. Eh??? He said that he'd get back to me but somehow I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't really like talking to CEO. They tend say things like, "I'd get back to you." Then nothing happens.

Well GTG, work ends. Later!!!

End of rant

Love,
Julie.

Dear ppl,

Green

You are a very calm and contemplative person. Others are drawn to your peaceful, nurturing nature.

Find out your color at Quiz Me!

I find the result to be very ironic since I'm such a fire eater:) Wow!! Who says that the quizzes are accurate:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!

Sorry I forgot to put up notice yesterday:)
No sulking. BTW I lost count of your age. Let's say that you are 21 and counting:)

Love,
Julie.

Time warp
(Monday, December 8, 2003, 04:39 p.m.)

Dear ppl,

I feel a tad lost since I seem to have lost track of time. My mind says that today was suppose to be the 15th of December. Very strange but I was so convinced:( I'm losing my mind. Plus have been swamp with work so I don't think I'd be blogging untill much later.

I have a new system installation where I'm suppose to run stress test and compliance test. Had an emergency meeting with vendors last Friday and had a report due on the same day. No wonder I feel so scattered. I'm still waiting for a word from BIG boss about the report. It's very negative of me but I seem to be waiting to be kicked up side down over it since it's not edited by my boss.

After the very technical meeting, I had a towering headache when I tried to assimilate the time line of the project, the design, system installations and input from other members invited to the meeting. Assistant Manager and IT Senior Executive was a pain since they decided that everything was going smoothly. Argh!!! I didn't even get to see the system properly to prepare a report. I want screen shots, damm you!!! Something I could ponder and scribble on.

BTW boss is gone for 1 week. I'm happy cause I get to work over other back logged work but unhappy cause I answer directly to the Big boss:( Don't like that man much. Gah, I'm being whiny. Have to get back to work. Later!!! B4 I forget.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Love,
Julie.
