quick catchup cuz super busy but now it's 6am (up since 4am-hw) and i have 1.5hrs till i have to catch the bus....so no use in napping for fear i wouldn't wake in time.
kyayaya!! loki so cute! (watched 6-7)
weird dream wed where old lady type doll with long LOTR:FOTR Sauron-like fingers etching words "the sin" into apt's drywall..."the sin" smoked w/weird purple glow....she kept saying "heathen HEATHEN" which irked me a lot cuz for some reason i thought she was talking about fan and i was like, "fan's not a heathen you dumb butt"...anyway, too much LOTR, HP and maybe stressed out too much....
was a nerd and bought 0 MatLab software....might as well...me math major afterall...
might be assigned brigadoon vol. 2 next...not too sure yet considering TP is highly unorganized...
slacking off too much for my own good in japanese...makes me sad...
saw Paul's short film in the "Shorttakes" film festival last night....saw a cute animation called "Chicken Saves the World" made by UCLA animation student....wish i knew him =p also dirk had the same ultraman shirt as me....jerk...i had mine since 1999 though so there *fumes*
saw 2 guys that could totally pass for anime characters....and i'm picky about that stuff so cheers to them for catching my attn...
Mako-chan was raving about Kimeru several times and i got a chance to d/l "change of mind" and now i'm addicted....didn't even set eyes on PoT yet....but soon...muhhahha
need to archive but new june layout soon...so i'll wait

well, time was luckily in the area so i got to go to anime gamers today, but they only had the march issue of newtype....i needed march to may...but oh well, i'll try asahiya nextnext week...
but on our way, we were griping as usu about tokyopop and i was challenged! he told me that around the office, they thought the WISH series i laid out was the best tokyopop ever made....considering it's only 4 vols, it's not a hard feat....so, tim said he was going to "out-do" my WISH with his FLCL...well, i made quite a few consistency mistakes in WISH and i don't care about it, but i kind of felt sad at being threatened....but FLCL is only 2 vols so keeping consistent in 2 vols is easier than say a 18vol series....anyway....feeling threatened but not caring really....i have bigger fish to fry like GRADUATING!!!
anyway, more industry talk....congrats to tim cuz he was called by anime gamers to edit and layout the 2vol digi charat manga so here's the survey:

today was a waste in japanese....we just learned about and watched clips of j-dramas! she didn't have the decency to show a whole episode! i think my sensei is a fangirl inside =p

geh, no fun blogging if you're not here to read it =p...so i guess i'll be on hiatus since my only audience is gone =p...but here's an entry for when you get back:
it's hard looking for a summer job/internship...searching through monster.com only yields full-time positions for companies i cannot possibly obtain, like warner bros, virgin, deloit and touche (they're actually looking for Graphic Artists =p)...looking on craig's list returns freelance for weird people....i'm seriously considering that fetish cartoon/anime style job...no, not really =p...i wonder how desparate i would have to be though =p there ARE quite a few storyboard artists wanted that i thought i might apply for...i learned the rough basics of it in animation 181A...but then i'm a math major so i don't think so =p
I don't think i'm going to AX because i have nowhere to room since no one i know is going...egan is going as press, as usual, so he gets his own room. All i want to see are the AMVs and cosplayers, but i don't want to get a hotel room by myself and renting a car is out of the question cuz commuting to anaheim is too much gas...i asked egan if he knows anyone who would take someone in to relieve some hotel costs, but i don't think that'll work out...i guess i'll wait until miki comes back to see what she and tim are planning...
oh! i found my fanime postcard thingy...i hope i remember to bring it =p

SUX NOT HAVING A CAR!!!!! 4YEARS in this WRETCHED CITY!!!*cries* at least someone is having fun in SoCal...i think though that if i DID have a car, that i would really enjoy it cuz i would go everywhere all the time...bookoff, little tokyo, the huntington, movies, grocery shopping...i also would have more chances at getting a job because i'm not limited to what's in a bussable distance...i could visit elsa and sarah at irvine if i so choose...i could have visited joan at san diego if i wanted to...i could go to DISNEYLAND!I could go to UNIVERSAL for the spiderman experience! i could've worked for dreamworks last year!!!i would TOTALLY!!! drive back home to see mom and dad more often....for someone who loves to drive as much as me, these past few years have been my inferno...i think it actually hindered my studies cuz i dwelled on my isolation so much...ah well, now i'll never know who well i might have performed if i DID have a car...
end rant......now!
yeah well, sorry for that =p anyway, i don't know if i'll have time for a CGed june layout, but i have something sketched that i wanted to use...but i'm too busy to fancify it...we'll see how my numerics project(5/28) and homework(5/30), japanese final(5/29), combinatorics midterm2(5/30) and homework set(5/28) goes...*goes to kitchen to find a sharp knife*~~~STRESS~~~

useless math discussion cuz nothign to talk about....so my TA gave us some fun brain teasers, so try to figure this out...
Banana Problem:
point A and point B are 1000 miles apart. you have 3000 bananas and a truck at point A. You want to get as many bananas as you can to point B. HOWEVER! these are the criteria:
- must consume 1 banana for every mile you travel
- the truck can only take 1000 bananas at a time
- you cannot throw or catapult bananas
- you CAN leave bananas on the side of the road (no one will steal them)<==big hint
i didn't try it yet..perhaps this weekend =p but what do you guys think?

the redo for cardcaptors master of the clow volume 3 reprint is DONE!! if i didn't have school i think i could've finished in 2.5days....but this time it took me since sunday afternoon until now....factoring in school and my other job (7am-5/6pm) plus some R&R time after i get back from campus, i'd say 3 days ain't too bad in total...this particular volume was fun i guess cuz it was more lax (no heavy quark needed) and i got to revisit Li's confession disasters...plus, toya giving his magic to yue was a nice way to end the book....i wanted to post a little panel from the book, but i was rereading the contract and i think i'd get in trouble....plus listen to this:

yo tokki! i might ask egan about AX....me desparate...so i'm about 40% on going if i can share a room with egan's peeps...or if YOU know people who are going and we can split a room....but egan owes me for letting him stay at my apt last minute and also getting him connections to digital manga and tokyopop....and i never asked him for anything from bandai or viz or all the multitudes of connections he has...yet =p.......but then it's all depending on my cash flow...i mean i'm still in LA but that means squat if i'm broke...also, i'll miss gina too much =p it's really no fun w/o her, no offence =p i've never been to a con w/o her come to think of it....geh, i sound pathetic =p
the onlly reason i would want to go to AX is for the cosplayers though....maybe i don't need a ticket for that....these kids seem to be working hard and i TOTALLY!!! want to see the end result!....

while i was doing the CCS3 pages, i griped to my roommate, and then we realized WE could probably do a better job than tokyopop! If i started a company, i could do graphics, she would do translations...and since i've worked for other print type companies like the daily bruin and digital manga, i can totally get quotes on costs to print....and also, since i used to work at Lee's comics, i'm sure they'd sell my product....i could advertise in Giant Robot abd the daily bruin....and also, i can get Miki to translate too and Tim to do graphics and maybe more biz type dealies since he can talk...plus his daddy lawyer can come in handy....and if worse comes to worse, i can ask craig to be the PR type person....
but that's all wishful and unrealistic thinking...i'll end up being tokyopop's whore still...
in other news, i heard that only about 2 people from UCLA got accepted to JET so it's not like we're all that favored apparently....so not encouraging but oh well....
saw daughter of danang in culture's class today....shhhhheeeeesh...that's some good thinking there....lots of opinions generated....go to your local indy movie store and rent it!
japanese debate tomorrow. one topic is: "recently, japanese manga and anime have been released in other countries. Is it "needed" for manga and anime to be international?" i think it's a poorly worded question and does not generate a lot of debate...but oh well....i hate speaking in japanese so the less i talk the better....
what else...i feel like i have a lot to release...perhaps later...i'm itchin to get this quarter over with...

well, i finally started the redo of CCS3....i hope to get 100pgs done....but i'm only on 50something cuz i distracted myslef too much :(...bah
one distraction was buying plane tix for summer/fanime/birthday fun in the BA....it's only from june18-26 though...not much time to fool around...but cheap!....fan, it's going to san jose so make sure dad, or you, familiarize yourself =p
oh yeah! distraction 2: talked to rebecca some more and she wrote for duke's paper, The Chronicle. she's so accomplished! oh and they just moved to SD last summer after her bro grad HS....so it's quite recent! and her bro goes to UCI (freshman) so i said she can visit me since it's all in the same relative area....but not really....but still close! i'm so lonely...=p i need some genuine people in my life again =p congrats to her! yay!
oh, and from rebecca i learned jon might grad berkeley(art) in december....and tyler is still in berk eecs...but i dunno if he's grad this year....so that's the news so far....i'm on a contacting roll =p
congrats of course to lana! she doesn't have to say thanks....maybe i'll doodle a little giftie...if i'm that bored....what series does she like fan?....i'm trying to get rid of this doodling streak =p time to suck up now so she can favor me while JETting in japan =p j/k!!! i kid cuz i love =p

my co-worker, craig, totally pissed on and killed my mood to watch the harry potter double feature today....it's not that he dissed HP, he just was...well...himself =p....he doesn't know that's i'm all that pissed though, since i kinda keep it to myself....but it just really killed my mood beyond the magical powers of potter...but since both are on DVD anyway....i still plan on going tomorrow for the LOTR showings cuz i need my Two Towers fix...it's been a while =p

i woke up at 7am to go to my 9am discussion, for whose midterm i just bombed yesterday...and it was semi-cancelled! i shoulda known! no hw, just had a midterm...so what is there to talk about? NOTHING! hence the early morn blog since i had 2 hrs to kill...
1st hr i went to the intructional media lab to watch the jap drama we're having a kaiwa quiz on today...had to join 2 other ppl cuz there were only 2 vids available....then 4 more ppl joined...all last minute watchers =p...we made fun of the actor's slurred speech...fun =p
when i left, the person at the front desk who had to give me my ID back said, "oh! you have such a pretty name, wow"...me->*blush*...lame to feel that way but oh well....i think though that a lot of people never like their name =p
the rest of my hair is catching up to those 2 "tails" i have so my nickname would be useless soon :(...well, in another maybe 2 yrs? my hair will be back to it's 3.5ft glory =p sucks that i'm not even 5ft tall though *sigh*
i was thinking of envoking a challenge cuz i wanted to get rid of this doodling streak i've been in lately...i was gonna draw anything, anyone, any *pose* people would challenge me to do...but then i thought about what i was saying, so i doffed the idea =p i need to stop drawing though...
Melnitz, the on campus theater, is showing a double feature of Harry Potter 1and2 on friday and Lord of the Rings 1and2 on Saturday! i'm sooo going!! IT'S FREEE!!!!! should i wear my elf cloak? and supposed hogwart's scarf? =p

i signed up a while ago for this online gaming thing called ragnarok online because it was based on the ragnarok korean manga, which tokyopop is releasing...but i didn't start cuz i was too busy...but it seems all these people are addicted on it...i'm afraid to start playing cuz i don't have time to spare, but now i'm so curious about the commotion...tokki, maybe you sould try it since you'll get out of berkeley soon and anyway, you're getting the manga in korea right? they have a korean option for the game too... tell me what you think =p seems like it's more fun if you know people though...maybe you can try it with me....but then you have zelda to keep you occupied =p
In other news...just finished wolf's rain 14....oh my $^$%^*god....and E's 6....anyone else think asuka looks like sakura kinomoto? and maxim looks like a rocked out subaru..i dunno...staring at too much CLAMP i guess...
bombed my 2nd math midterm but otherwise in medium spirits...so you think my boys are sexy and nummy? i think that's the first i've heard =p....my ex roommate said, about my 15sec animation, that my girl had big boobs =p....hmm, maybe i should look into that ecchi cartooning ad i saw posted awhile ago, eh fan?...getting kinda desparate looking for an internship =p...NANTOKANE! math midterm didn't go too shabby, but i may have jinxed myself by saying that =p....so in my semi relief i turned my brain off and did some stupid stuff =p
 i know draco is too skinny, i tend to draw anorexic people =p don't hate me fan =p i know i'm been dirtified by LA....i blame it on the lack of a car....if i'd led a less isolated and more mobile life in LA, i might have actually HAD a life =p...but now i resort to the pleasures of fiction....that pict was "inspired" by a little HP ficlet cassie claire did...i need to get the books =p although i'm still working on TTT....you know, i've been doodling a lot more lately i actually whipped out my 6yr old color pencils =p....i think i'm getting antsy cuz the quarter is 1/2way done...
i saw someone in my class that looks JUST LIKE a young judy garland...uncanny....
i'm getting an annoying urge to find out what the other aragonians are up to....they should all be graduating this year, if they had successful college careers....unlike me =p....i'm so curious...maybe i'll IM them....but then do i REALLY want to resurface? hmm...dilemna =p

yes! it's totally awesome....again, my opening day excursion proved a little irksome cuz as usu all the annoying kids came...but thank god for late showings where there are more adults than people who scream useless "you suck"s =p
but i don't know how much i can divulge w/o spoiling things....once again my 11 year interest in x-men has resurged!!
fun things too look out for though...watch the tv in an early scene, you'll see "Dr. Hank McCoy" (beast) being interviewed....you'll see an obvious plug for "Remy LeBeau" (gambit).....hmmm...there were some others but i forgot...one word spoiler that people who know the x-men's history fairly well so if you don't want to know skip the italics

I really liked it overall....didn't get back until 1:20am and then i just crashed cuz i was up all night doing my paper...woke up at 1:35pm and now i'll do grocery shopping..YAY for oreo mint breyers ice cream! *drool homer style*...wanted to see if i can go somewhere like book off or something (since my roommate said i could use her car) but i think it's too late now =p ah well maybe tomorrow when she comes back =p

oh my !@%#&$ god!!! clamp's taking ANOTHER break for the august issue!!! It was supposed to come BACK in that issue...they had 2 months already!!! It was supposed to come back on my birthday!!! NOW i have to wait until JULY 24th???!!!! you GITS! how can you end on "ore ha..." and stop for 3 months!...*exasperated sigh* ....oh well....and about a week ago they posted in the headline news that the site is going to be redesigned so it'll be under construction from 5/16-5/31....oh well thank god gouhou drug is still going...and i guess dnangel too can tide me over....
i have to get the 5/26 issue of youngs magazine cuz it'll have a 4 page color insert for xxxholic....but i hate the dirty shonen crap they have =(...once again, oh well =p

it's break time again...sitting in the comp lab...serious sleep lackage these past few days....wish i could nap but fear i will not wake in time for class...
fan! i saw jennifer on the bus yesterday and we talked a lot about stuff....she's d/l anime too now! and she has GetBackers!(the one i've been anticipating for when the new season came but i was in the midst of moving so i couldn't d/l it and then when we got dsl it was too far ahead to catch up =p) so she's gonna burn it for me...plus she watches Naruto so i think i'll mooch off her on that....she hasn't seen wolf's rain...she didn't understand the 1st ep but i think i'll push it on her =p I'll call you to tell you more!
Kix has gotten me all excited about fanime now =p...i was kinda apathetic about it but now i wanna see you guys' cosplay that you work so hard on =p I think the best part for me these days is taking picts of cosplayers =p THAT and sadamoto this year teehee if i get a sketch it'd be a good b-day =)
speaking of b-day...fan, what'd you suppose mom and dad'll do for us this year? have you heard anything? eh...probably the usu dinner but last year was unusual =p fun though =)
watching X-Men:United tonight, of course =p i guess this is my matrix, since some people seem to be more excited about that than i am =p...i like matrix still though =p
