The other day I was having a shower (a pretty normal occurance), listening to a cd (also normal) and it was a cd I listen to often and a song came on that I've listened to lots of times and thought was a good song, nice message...never thought anymore about it. But this particular time I heard it and I froze. I couldnt help it! THIS time God was speaking to me. (Those of you who aren't Christians and who dont know God's love have no idea what I"m talking about and may or may not be thinking I'm crazy, but those of you who do know God's love KNOW what I'm talking about and what its like when God speaks to YOU) Anyway, this song is kindof in the form of God saying this stuff to the listener type idea. And its basically, yeah I could have made you stay with me and not given you the choice to leave and pursue other things, but it wouldn't be love that way. And just the whole song made me literally cry for joy! (and some of you know that crying, no matter the context, is NOT a normal occurance for me) I just realized that God loves us so much, so so much and He let us go out with FREE WILL to come or go as we please. He let us go KNOWING that some would never come back to Him, KNOWING that some would turn against Him, and yet He would not force us into anything. One line of the song goes "what was I supposed to do? I would not put chains on you" and that line in particular hit me so much! When I think about my God, and how much He loves me, and loves all of us, no matter what and all He wants is for us to love Him in return. How could you NOT love one that loves you so increadibly much? So much in fact that He lets us go when we need it instead of keeping us close like He would probably would like. So much that He sent His only Son to the Cross to pay for our sins so that we COULD come back! Jesus suffered for the entire world on that Cross, it wasn't one mans pain, it was 6 billion men, women, and children, past, present, and future. How can you NOT LOVE the one who loves YOU THAT MUCH! If you want I will happily bring the cd somewhere so others can hear this song and hopefully God will speak to other peoples hearts too. I gotta say, everytime I hear it now I am just so overwhelmed by God's love, its truly amazing. Some of the lines: "you have always been free, and always a part of me" "sure you could go, but just so you know, you are all I've ever wanted, you are all I've ever known" "I've been lost all these years till you came home" "My beautiful one come, winters over and the rain is done" "I see you now my lovely one, singing season has begun" I hope that all of you can experience God's love in your lives because I know from personal experience that there is nothing more amazing!
Teachers blah
Yeah so I'm not pleased with my teacher or my computer today. First my files corrupted and I lost quite a few projects that I needed for today and so I had to redo them or whatever and mr. miranda kept acting like I was making excuses! He has no reason to believe I would do that and every reason to believe that I would tell the truth or just not say anything at all! So that was bad, however mr. stairs gave me an extension so that earned him so points. Tonight is my I'm-not-doing-anymore-hmwk-than-absolutly-necessary night! So I"m gonna go read! Love yas!
Fatal Thanksgiving
I got some bad news today...um...a good friend of my cousins and an aquantance of mine was killed friday night on his was home from a party. um......he was away at first year college this year, to become a police officer, and this weekend was his first time home this year and ah, he was walking home from this party around 1:30am on Friday night (sat morn) and a car hit him and killed him. The car drove away, but I guess the car right behind him stopped and called the ambulance. THe funeral is tuesday morning. Also on the way to laserquest with tim and family (loads of fun) we saw an accident on that deadly strech of highway and a big truck t-boned a pickup with a trailer (and bikes) The pickup wasn't visable anymore and the cab of the big truck was decimated. Aparently there have been a few huge ones on the 401 already too. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.
Good times
Well, things are pretty good for me right now. School is going well, I"m getting caught up on hmwk (sorta, this weekend should get the last of it). Tim is a totally awsome boyfriend! He's much better at the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing this time around and he's making me very happy, I hope I'm doing the same for him! Work was great today (finished my work right at 6 and I wasn't rushed at all) Tho the screw ups from sat are phenominal! I didn't know one person could screw up that badly! ah well. My service stuff is going great, so far everything is scheduling well which makes me quite happy! I need to learn how to use microsoft access tho........DAD.....;) What else? um.....home life is interesting (glad I"m not here much) but not bad. God is really revealing a lot to me right now and I'm so excited to be learning all that I am. I hope things are going tolerably at the very least for everyone else! I really hope that everyone is great, but judging by some of the pita entries that isn't the case! I hope you guys will feel comfy coming to me to talk or whatever cause I'm in a great place right now so am able to carry more of other people's burdens. I love you all!
GO, DO, CHANGE
We are the future. We, the punk brats who no one respects or listens to are the future, WE will soon be taking over this world from the Jean Cretiens, George Bush's, and Bin Ladens of the older generation. So if we're tomorrow what are we doing about today? because we all know that what happens today will affect us tomorrow. So what are you going to do about it? what are you already doing??? if you're not doing anything about it, why not? WE ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW, so why dont we start acting like it today??? There are so many opportunities for us to DO something about our world! WE can make it a better place, WE can help people, WE can change people's minds about youth, WE CAN DO SOMETHING!!!!! We are not five years old, we are eighteen! THINK ABOUT IT!!!! YOU are an ADULT! (sorry to those who aren't quite there yet) Yes, we are YOUNG adults but that just means that we have ENERGY, ENTHOUSIASM and most of all we are NOT CYNICAL! We believe in a world where WE can change things, where WE can make things better and WE CAN!!!!!!!!!! This generation has been described as idealistic, and yes we are, but we CAN do SOMETHING! Maybe we cannot achieve world peace, but we CAN concievably achieve national peace! heck, Canada's already well on its way! We can do more with God, but even those who do not believe can do great things! Look at President Clinton, or if you're anti-american look at Prime minister Truedea (sp is WAY off on that one). They did great things and I'm not sure that either had faith, maybe they did, I dont know, but my point is ANYONE can be doing something! Help out at school, help in the community, help in the church, it doesn't matter where, just get out there and HELP! Be a leader, be supportive, be whatever! Use your gifts! If you're good at art USE it for the betterment of society, if you're good at music for pete's sake USE IT! Nothing will reach the youth of today so well as music! Heck, even things like MATH can be used! You could use simple mathematics that anyone who has ever stepped into a high school math class can do to find ways to feed every single person in this world b/c people, there IS enough food out there for 6 billion people. The reason that people are starving to death is that the food is unevenly distributed......so figure out who can spare and GIVE it!!!!!!!!!! We do NOT NEED twinkies, where we are just stuffing ourselves that little bit more we could fill an empty stomach! Thats off my point tho..........the point is we can do something now, we are NOT too young, we are NOT a minority, we have the most consumer power in the western world! we now have a say (and a BIG one at that) in government! I KNOW that some of my friends are going to be going places in life! Tim might shake up the mathematical world someday, Jo is gonna try to change the academic world, Tee may introduce the food of tomorrow, and me? well, I might do something about the large agnostic population or maybe the corruption in the Church! WHO KNOWS???????? WE CAN DO SOMETHING! all of us can! and WE CAN START NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm involved in youth ministry already, Tim's been showing me all sorts of math stuff, including things I didn't understand about infinity, but he was really excited about it.........Jo, she's got gifts and she's started to use them with projects like the Real Joe and yearbook. Tee was creating some new rice dish the other day. SOME people are already doing stuff, EVERYONE should be. Guys, I know I sound like some sort of motivational speaker (tho not a good one) its just that right now I am SO impassioned about this! I want to go out there and do EVERYTHNG! but my gifts arent in everything, where I am lacking there are others who have what I dont! Just like I have what someone else doesnt! We need to work together, compliment each others gifts with our own! Together we CAN change the world, alone we can change a nation. In other words, UNITED WE STAND, ALONE WE SIT, but we will never, NEVER fall. So my message, my ENCOURAGEMENT to all of you is to GO out and DO something to CHANGE the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUWAH!
Authoritarian teachers on a power trip
Yeah so as the title suggests I've not had a good day with teachers today! In fact I met a couple who were on major power trips and ended up getting in major trouble twice in the library alone! not to mention some of my other classes! Arg, it would seem I'm a 'trouble making punk' now. stupid. Work was good, I got a great deal of hmwk done today between spare and work and hopefully I'll be able to get the rest done tonight! I'm listening to some of my church music and its making me feel better. I also have to write a letter back to Laura. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! teacher or historian??? I would actually love to be a proff, but I dont have the grades for that! but I DO have the grades to be a high school teacher (and a damn good one at that!) the question is if i want to put up with all the b/s involved with teaching???? I dont know. I just dont know!! ah well, I have all month to decide! Its crunch time! At least I know I'm taking a year off next year to work and travel! Anyway I should get going on that hmwk now so I"m gonna go! TTYL maybe
