Music: Radiohead - There, There
So umm....here are some lyrics from a song called "Roses" by Outkast:
I know you like to think yo' shit don't stank
But lean a lil bit closer see
Roses really smell like poo poo poo
Yeah, roses really smell like poo poo poo
Poo poo poo. Right. Ummm...what the HELL?!?!
I thought it was already bad enough that "Hey Ya!" was nominated for so many Grammys, but if this goes ANYWHERE near the nomination ballot, I think I'll have to pull a Van Gogh. Blargh.
Anywho, I've got a long week ahead of me...gotta get back to work.

So apparently Texan winters are on a 3 month delay or something. I woke up this morning and it was down to the 30s. Then it started hailing. Nice timing, Momma Nature. :P I thought school was going to be canceled, because by Texan tradition, everything comes to a screeching halt the minute any frozen substance falls from the sky. But...it didn't. Darn you, UT!! Why couldn't you have chickened out at the sight of snow/ice and canceled classes like you did last year?!?! Hmph. Oh well...I've got a hazelnut latte to warm me up, and all's well in the world.
Adventures in Pre-Pharmacy: One Step Up! :)
Sooo...being a pre-pharmacy student means I have to apply to pharmacy school. Booooo. Basically, the admissions process works like this.
1. Student Bob submits an application.
2. School looks over application
3. If School likes Student Bob, School will grant Bob an interview
4. Bob goes to interview, spazzes out afterward about telling the interviewer that he loves to hold long, deep conversations with his pet potato.
5. Bob waits in anxiety until April
6. If School likes Bob even after aforementioned pet potato comment, School will send Bob an acceptance letter.
7. Bob leaps for joy and continues to hold long, deep conversations with his pet potato.
Ok, got all that? Basically, if the school doesn't invite you for an interview, you can pretty much forget about them considering you as a candidate. Right now I'm still around steps 1-2. HOWEVER, I got an e-mail yesterday with the following subject line from the University of Houston's Pharmacy College:

Duh...I'm starting to think that I'm just not made for school. Either that or I get dumber and dumberer every year. Blargh. Oh, and microbio is making me want to shower myself in disinfectant every time I touch a water faucet handle. Eeesh.

Bleh...sorry about the slowdown in updates. School tends to do that to you. :)
Since I get tsunamis of junk mail every day in my regular e-mail inbox, I've got a decoy mailing address at dorkyme129@hotmail.com. Anywho, The Phantom of the Opera is showing in Austin, and I jumped at the opportunity and bought some tickets online, using my decoy e-mail address. I clicked "Submit Payment", getting all giddy over the fact that I'm going to see Phantom again....woohoo! My little period of giddiness fizzled pretty quickly though, because I realized that they deliver the tickets to the billing address listed on your credit card. The problem with that is that my billing address is for my home in the 'burbs of Houston. Yikes. So I called the ticket office to change my order to will call instead of mail order, and the guy at the other end was asking me for my information, so that he could confirm that I was the one who bought the tickets.
Guy: So what's the billing address?
Me: 123 Anystreet, Sugar Land, TX 77479
Guy: Ok, lookin' good...what showing are the tickets for?
Me: Friday the 27th
Guy: Mmhmm...ok, and what's your e-mail address?
Me: dorkyme one two nine at hotmail dot com
Guy: Actually, we don't need that information, I just wanted to hear you say it
Me: HEy....
Guy: *chuckles*...alright ma'am...just on hold a sec, I'll change that to will call right away
Nyargh....punk. It made for a good laugh, though. And now I don't have to worry about my dad getting an envelope with two tickets to see The Phantom of the Opera in Austin. :P

Okay, okay....so I guess last time's 100x100 pixel movie challenge was a little too easy. I shoulda remembered that there aren't many movies that involve pink bars of soap. And for those of you who didn't know what movie last time's 100x100 pixel square was from, the answer would be Fight Club. Anywho, so I've got a new 100x100 pixel square!

It's the end of January, and I'm back to wearing a spaghetti strap tank. *shakes fist at Texan weather*
Anywho...damn those girl scouts and their scrumptious cookies! For 3 dollars, I could be getting a latte or something. But those cookies tempt me like a cute guy with a British accent. *shakes head* Anywho, my roomie Tiff and I went to Wal-Mart last week to do some shopping, and right as we stepped out of the store, there's a little girl sitting at a table of cookies. Little did we know, that little girl had some crazy mind control powers, because before we knew it, we both had our wallets open. If anyone can fill me in on how those girls do it, let me know, because I never had that kind of power when *I* was a girl scout, godammit! Anywho, I was about to reach for my usual favorite, the Thin Mints, but I got curious about those new cookies, the Pinatas. And I'll have to say that I'm not disappointed at all. :) They go great with a cup of tea, and hell, they're just good cookies overall.
In other news, Virgil left a comment on the last post with the following:
"I typed 'Anime Broomball Techtv Games Coffee' (my personal likes)into google and it found only this site from March 2003. Thought it might be amusing to find out that you are the only source for those words on the same page (listed on google anyway)."
Wow. I know I go onto random tangents and stuff in my blog, but that's just crazy. O_o;; I mean, I can understand the words "anime", "techtv", and "games" being on the same page, but where the heck would the "coffee" and "broomball" come from?!?! It almost makes me look like I've got a legion of orangutans to type up this blog, just that it's um....you know...a little more coherent. Or not. I think I'll just shut up before people seriously start thinking that this blog is typed up by an army of apes.

Wow....long time no post, huh? :)
Oh, and the xanga double-posting has been nixed. Since I did allow "last call votes", Miao and joz put in a vote for pitas.com before I typed up this entry....so no xanga double-posting. If you guys need anything, I'll be here at pitas.com. :P
So anywho....on with the...how do you say..."show".
Okay...so after watching Kill Bill, The Last Samurai, and Hero, I've started thinking....screw studying to be a pharmacist...I'm gonna be an ass-kicking sword fighter. Sure, it's a totally impractical occupation for the 21st century, but it's just so friggin' COOL! On the other hand, I'd probably never leave the country because there's no way I could get a sword through customs. And I guess there's that terrible risk of having a small child in the house who will pretend that he's He-Man and then he'll terrorize the town by running around with a long, sharp object. But other than that......okay okay, so being a swordfighter wouldn't work too well. But it's still something I wouldn't mind learning. Nyah. :P
*Sigh*....sooo...school starts tomorrow. It's gonna be a tough semester, but I think as long as I'm armed with a cup of coffee and a LOT of hard work, I'll make it through. And if not...well....let me know if you guys want anything...I'll give you a heads-up if I'm writing my will. :P
