Back in Austin. That means less baking, more studying...*sigh*.
And speaking of studying....here's a little sad but true fact:
SilverDragon129: anywho, I'm gonna get off
SilverDragon129: I can't do hw with AIM on
SilverDragon129: I turn into useless jello if I do :-P
anima caelestis: Hah
anima caelestis: I know what you mean
Let the schooling begin.

Spring Break is turning me into Betty Crocker. Or maybe Martha Stewart. Nah, I don't like Martha...I'll stick with Betty. At any rate, first I bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and now I've baked a carrot cake. And that turned out well too! W00t!! This has been a good baking week for me. Hell, it's just been a good week, period. Spring break rocks. ^_^

*Sob*....I'm so proud of myself. First I fix my own computer, and now I've just baked a heavenly batch of chocolate chip cookies. I've been wanting to bake cookies for a while, and now that I've fulfilled that urge, I can honestly say that this is the best batch I've ever baked. Soft, golden brown at the edges, and with melted chocolate chips....and it's all thanks to this recipe. Sure, they're called "Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies", but I was skeptical. Now I bow down to whoever came up with this recipe. At any rate, I'm about to head off to Deran's, along with a few cookies for the road. ^_^

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!
Ahahahaha, oh yes....my laptop has been revived. Just when I thought I'd have to send it back to KDS Computers, I came out as the victor. When I couldn't reach tech support this morning, I called my other tech support: Alvin in LA. After much speculating, he finally concluded that it might just be a loose hard drive. I didn't want to leave my laptop for 2 weeks just so some bozo in a factory can nudge my hard drive a bit, so I took matters into my own hands. I whipped out the screwdrivers and took my computer apart. After pulling the keyboard off and finding the hard drive, I screwed it in a little more tightly, and replaced the keyboard. I plugged in the power, pressed the power switch, and crossed my fingers. My heart leaped with joy when I saw the Windows XP welcome screen. That's right, KDS Computers, I own you. Screw your tech support....I've got my screwdrivers. Bwahahaha, my nerd points have been doubled.

@#$%^#&$!!!!!
Oy vey....so I cheerfully walk through the door after a safe trip to Houston from Austin, and I proceed up the stairs to plug in my laptop. I turn it on....and Windows won't load. I keep on getting a whole bunch of text running down a black screen...and then it stops. No welcome screen. Nil. Nada. I felt my heart stop. So now I'm using my cursed home computer. It's not using the home computer that's sending me into a frenzy of panic....it's more the thought that if my computer isn't working by the time I get back to school next week, my life will be over. OVER, I tell you!!! My laptop is pretty much my lifeline while I'm at school.....it's sad but true.
*Stares at broken laptop*....PLEASE WORK!!!! *sob*

Whoa....I just had a strange encounter. I'm sitting around in Deran's room, surfing the internet on his computer, while his roommate Joe is watching Tom and Jerry on Cartoon Network. Deran leaves to take a shower, we acknowledge his temporary absence, and continue with our activities. About 5 minutes later, we hear the door open. I was about to say something along the lines of "Whoa....that was a really fast shower", but I look over, and I don't see Deran, but some blond guy wearing nothing but blue boxers. He comes in, locks the door behind him, and said something like "Did Jerney come by?" Joe and I just kind of stare at him for a while.
Joe: Ummm....who?
Guy: "Jerney"...did he stop by?
Joe: Umm....no, he didn't
Then the guy turns around to open the door. Then he realizes that he can't open the door because he freakin' locked it when he walked in. He unlocks the door, and exits. Joe and I blink in disbelief at the closed door.
Either that guy was drunk/high, or we've got some STRANGE people here at UT.

Music: Greenday - Redundant
This week has been painfully slow. I feel like someone's locked me in a room with nothing but a chair and an unbreakable window. And I'm forced to watch a monkey move a pile of rice from one place to another by moving it grain by grain with a pair of chopsticks. And I can't leave the room until the freakin' ape moves the whole freakin' pile. And while I'm watching I'm tempted to grab the pile and cook some fried rice.
At any rate, spring break couldn't come sooner.

<-- This would be me when it's time to study for exams. I want to bake cookies. I've got two exams ready to throw me down and smack me in the face in 2 days, and yet my mind is geared towards the oven. I'm fully convinced that my brain likes to play sick jokes on me. When I'm not pressed to study for exams, I could walk around campus and I'd start thinking about the xylem and phloem in the trunks of the trees that I pass. Or I'll randomly think about how you could boil water at its freezing point. But when it's time to study, what do I think about? Cookies. If I had a kitchen, I'd be happily cracking eggs and stirring in load of sugar and flour. Oh, and don't forget the chocolate chips. Gotta have the chocolate chips. Maybe it's a blessing that I don't have a kitchen here in the dorms...otherwise I'd look like Jabba the Hut in less than 2 months.

Alrighty, looks like people like the mood icons. Therefore, they stay. ^_^
I went to play ping pong today. It's a rarity that you'll see me play ANY kind of sport. I've been hit by almost every ball possible. Since then, anything that requires me to remove ass from chair is a big no-no.
But I miraculously enjoyed ping pong today.
I'm not sure why I enjoyed it, but I think the fact that a ping pong ball won't bend my glasses if it hit me in the face had a lot to do with it.

Bwahahahaha, much w00t-age this week:
Tuesday: No school - no explanation needed.
Thursday: No chem lab - that means classes end at 12:30 for me
Friday: No history class - that means classes don't begin until 3 pm
Let's just say that sleep has been a much-appreciated luxury this week. *big grin*

I groggily woke up for class this morning, and I did my usual habit of turning on my computer and checking my e-mail. The following message made me very happy:
Bwahahaha, needless to say, I hopped back into bed. I've done nothing today but eat out and play in the cold weather. And the greatest part about it all is that there really isn't much outside....just a lot of ice. I'm sure all of you Northerners and Canadians are enraged....I remember back when I lived in New York, we wouldn't get a day off unless there was a TON of snow....as in we couldn't get out of our houses without burrowing through the snow/ice. But I'm not going to complain about this. *big grin*
I've really come to like Evanescence. They're like a cross between Tori Amos and Linkin Park. Either way, it's kickass music. It just pisses me off when almost ALL of my Evanescence mp3's have beeps and scratches in them. If anyone out there has any good copies of Evanescence songs, please send them my way.

Music: Norah Jones - Don't Know Why
I can't feel my hands, feet, or ears.
And I didn't get any amputations. So what's the source of this lack of feeling? White stuff. Masses of white stuff. In short, there was a MASSIVE snowball fight outside. It was well worth giving up physics homework to go outside to play in the snow. ^_^ I've come to find that snow attracts college students like moths to a flame. There were huge crowds of people outside throwing snowballs and making snowmen. Others were sledding down slopes on lunch trays, garbage can tops, anything they could find...one guy had the guts to go down in NOTHING BUT A JOCKSTRAP. Yes, this man had the courage to slide down on a lunch tray, in front of masses of people, wearing nothing but a penis protection device. Talk about having no shame. :P I haven't been out to play in the snow since I moved from Buffalo, New York in sixth grade, so this was a huge rush for me. We definitely need more snow here in Austin. ^_^
I can almost feel my right ring finger.
