My physics professor was talking about waves today. But since he has a German accent, he says "vayves" instead. :) The guy can't teach worth crap, but he's probably the only professor I've had so far that seems genuinely interested in both the subject matter and how the students are doing in class. I'm gonna miss Dr. Böhm, German accent and all.

Wheee....it's been a good day. *grin* I went to see Flugtag today...basically it's a contest where people build whatever "flying machines" they can think of, and then they launch it off a ramp over a lake to see how it flies. Points are given for distance, creativity, and showmanship. But most of all, creativity. And let me tell you, none of them flew very far. :P So you can imagine what kinds of interesting stuff they had there. Today I saw lawnmowers, cars, hotdogs, and pigs fly. One team did a Mary Poppins theme. They'd dance around to clips of various songs from the movie, and then they played the clip of Dick Van Dyke's character saying "Good-bye, Mary!" And then this dude dressed as Mary Poppins grabs this GIANT umbrella and runs off the ramp. The umbrella fell apart midair and the dude fell straight into the water, but man that was one good show. Another team built their flying machine to look like Willie Nelson. So it was a "Flying Willie"....nyahaha. XD Some of the "aircrafts" looked pretty damn impressive...until the crew starts pushing it off the ramp. Some start falling apart, and others didn't even go over the ramp. It's funny to see what they do when their machines fall apart, though....most of them just pick it up and haul it over the ramp as hard as they can, hoping that it'll get SOME sort of distance. Either way, you gotta give a hand to all the teams for taking the time to build something that they're just going to push straight into a lake. Great show, great fun....go see it if you can! ^_^

Music: John Mayer - Comfortable

There's a band playing country/cowboy-ish music outside in the sports court. I can hear it loud and clear in my room.

And I live on the NINTH FREAKIN' FLOOR.

Shoot me. -_- If I can hear it this loudly nine floors up, I can't even begin to imagine what kind of hell the people on the floors below me are going through right now.

At any rate....*turns up winamp*...of all the John Mayer songs I've downloaded, I can't believe I missed "Comfortable". Download it and listen...you won't regret it. :)

Good god, I can't pay attention in class worth shit these days. >_< I zoned out through bio, and flat out slept through physics today. I swear if the professors here at the University of Texas would do just two things, everyone would pay attention just a bit more.

1. Speak in a British accent. We're all stupid Americans. Therefore, we think British accents are cool. Hell, we're all in Texas, which is just about as non-British as you can get. I'd say a good 96% of the students here were born and raised in America. We'd gawk if the instructors spoke with cheezy British accents.
2. Wear a hotdog suit. Who's going to ignore a freakin' British hotdog teaching chemistry?

Anywho, homework awaits. Blarghity blargh blargh.

Sometimes I feel like chopping my bed in half. Being a first-year university student, I live in a dinky little dorm. In this dorm, the dinkiest piece of furniture I have is my sad excuse for a desk. I can't even really call it a desk. It's more like a 2x2 square foot slab of imitation wood. My bio textbook alone takes up more than half of that space when it's open...sheesh.

Anywho....since I always sleep curled in fetal position anyway, I only need half the length of my bed. If I could just chop my bed in half and fill in that missing space with more desk space, I'd have an appropriate workcenter. Then I could scatter my papers and books into a frenzy and still have it contained in one place. No more putting papers on the "desk" and textbooks on my bed....it's perfect. I'd get started if I had the tools. Anyone want to donate a chainsaw?

Eeep...I've got a meeting with my advisor tomorrow at 8:30 am. It's a good thing because maybe I'll get an idea of what else I need to do if I still want to carry through with the pharmacy program. The bad part about it is that the meeting's in the morning. I'm as useful as a jar of mayonnaise in the morning. I walk like a zombie, look like a chimpanzee on crack, and speak in unintelligible tones. I've got a feeling that my meeting tomorrow is going to be something like this:

Me: G'morning.
Advisor: *takes a good look at me*....erm...good morning. Now, what courses would you like to take next semester?
Me: Bio, genetics, organic chemistry, and statistics.
Advisor: Erm....did you just say psycho asthmatics, manic tapestries, and ballistics?
Me: Bio, genetics, ochem, and stat.
Advisor: I'm sorry, we don't offer courses like "dough femme" and "splat" here at UT.
Me: Bitch.
Advisor: *takes another look at me*....you do realize that pharmacists need to test for drugs before they enter the workforce, don't you?

Blargh. Anywho, I'd better get some sleep. G'nite.

It's official. You can go ahead and slap a "stupid college kid" label on my forehead now. I went grocery shopping with some friends yesterday. We found a box with those big foam noodles that little kids use in swimming pools. Yi Lin grabs 2 of them and decides to duel with them in the middle of the candy aisle. So we're whacking each other with these giant foam noodles, and then David somehow gets the idea that we should joust with the noodles. We find an empty aisle, and we prepare for our battle. David climbs into a shopping cart, and I climb into Deran's back. At the count of three, Stephen pushes the cart (with Sir David aboard) with all his might while Deran charges towards the shopping cart monster. I can't say who turned out victorious in the battle, but it kinda made me want to buy one of those foam noodles afterward.

Gahhhh....I'm being attacked by yellow puffballs. It's April....flowers bloom, birds chirp, and I wallow in my congested misery. Pollen is like anthrax to me. Make that pollen and dust. I can't breathe through my nose, my eyes get all gunky, and I feel like a doll with too much stuffing in its head. >_< I need to stay away from powdery substances in general. *sniffle*

Random thought: I just realized that I have fat cheeks. I was looking through my photo album, and there's this one picture where it's a shot of the side of my head. Instead of seeing a normal profile, there's this large bulging mass coming out of the side of my head. At first I was thinking "Dear god, what is that?!?!"...then I realized it's one of my cheeks. I feel like a chipmunk.

Anywho....I've been addicted to Gridlock for the past couple of days. You should be too. *evil grin*

Eep....but on the other hand, I've already had a complaint that the addition of the music makes my blog take forever to load. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get to load faster? *shrug*

That's it for now. More bloggage when I feel like it. :P
