Tuesday, September 25, 2001 Warning: Incomming Babble
Well so far today has been kinda interesting. I've got a 1 to 2 hour break inbetween each of my 4 classes today. It's rather annoying cuz I don't really have very many places I can go except come back to my room during those periods. At least once I get my studio computer moved into Lawrence I'll have something to do in that area and I won't have to keep leaving and comming back. Right now I'm on break until 6pm when my last class of the day is. So I figured I would do a quick blog while I was here with nothing to do.
It actually rained today, which was actually kinda nice. I didn't get a whole lot of rain last year and I kinda miss it. The only thing that sucks is that back home in California they had a lightning storm last night. I want to see a lightning storm. I love lightning and the last time there was actually a substantial lightning storm in Stockton was at least 5 years ago. I want lightning dangit!
The only interesting thing that came with the rain today was a flood outside my dorm. The street that runs past my hall is flooded right now. It's too bad that there is a lot of traffic on that street cuz street floods can be fun. I remember one on my street in Stockton a looooong time ago. It was kinda a freak rain storm that pourd for about a half hour and then the sun came out and it was really nice outside. A whole bunch of us in the surrounding area flocked to the flood to play in it. It was loads of fun. We later found out that the street flooded cuz one of the orange cones we used when playing steet hocky got stuck down in the sewer (we lost many a ball down there. Every now and then we'd send someone down there to retrieve it depending on how many we had to play with. Needless to say it was hard to get a volunteer but we'd eventually push someone down the drain). So that was the cause of that flood, I have no idea why the street here is flooded. I don't think anyone else could figure it out either cuz they were out earlier checking it out.
Moving on to something else to talk about. So far my arch classes are a mixed bag, some of them seem like they are going to be really boring, like my Spacial Composition class. I'm not particularly thrilled by that class, although I do like how one of the professors teaches it. The other one I can pass on. But I think I leared more history in that class than stuff about architecture. Or at least the history part of it was more exciting. They were using examples from certain things in history and so we got a brief background on what was going on at the time so that we would understand the example better.
ECS (Environmental Control Systems) actually seems like a good class. I think I'll actually enjoy that one. Granted I have no idea why I would enjoy it, but something about it fascinates me so it's actually kinda interesting and fun to learn. The only problem is that my lab is on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm (hence the class I have in 2 hours). My first assignment is to measure my dorm room and figure out how much power I'm using compared to it's size. (So Sam if you see me pull out a tape measure later in the week and start measuring, that's what I'm doing).
Alrighty that should take care of the excitement in my life for now. . . No, wait I had one more thing to say. AJ (I know you read this) it has been brought to my attention that you should get a blog, *nods head* yes that would be a good idea. Then you can join our wonderful community of bloggers. I can even help you set something up if you want. Email me or something, either that or leave a message on AIM, I'll get it eventually.

Well I started classes today. I had Japanese and studio (ick). I hate the first day of studio, it's always the longest and most boring one the entire term. We basically arranged the desks and talked for 3 hours. The thing that really sucks is that I have the freaky studio room this year. It's right across the hall from my old studio (so we have crappy desks again) and it's painted light blue and bright yellow. It's absolutely hideous . . . well ok, maybe not absolutely, but I'd rather have the white personally. Oh well at least I got my drawing board set up (arigato Sammie).
The only other thing we did was talk about what we were going to do in Corvalace. Yes we are taking a trip to Crovalace because our next project involves downtown.
Ok so once the term gets going Sam and I are never going to see each other but that's ok. I'm still on food patrol so I will make sure she eats at least once a day, even if I have to drive to Carl's Jr at midnight to pick up a small order of fries she will eat.

Ok well my day started out really sucky today. For starters I HATE WINDOWS 2000. For some reason it suddenly decided that it had a password to log in. I did not set a friggin password to log in. It's really annoying cuz I can't get into my studio computer at all. There is absolutely no way that I could bypass the stupid password. The guy that came to check it out didn't have a clue as to what he was doing I swear. We ended up trying to reinstall Windows 2000 but that didn't work so now I have no programs left on that computer and I can't get into it. This sucks!
Hee hee, so you're going for a job a Sears Shawn. Have fun, I tried for one of those during summer and they kinda ignored me. Maybe you'll have more luck.
Sadness, ;_; Powerpuff layout is going to dissapear. Out with the old, in with the new I guess.
Saria those have got to be some of the strangest search engin queries I've heard in a while. How on earth would those link to you're blog?
Ok I kinda like this layout. Then again I'm on a black/red phase right now with layouts and such.
Ok well thats the most exciting thing in my life right now. Other than that I'm basically waiting for school to start. However right now I'm having problems typing cuz I'm getting cold and my brain has stopped working. This is cauzing me typing problems at the moment cuz I keep massivly mutilating words and having to retype them in order to make the readable. I should probably ask Sam to close the window, but knowing me I'll just grin a bear it and put on a sweatshirt or something. I think I'm going to go read my book now anyways. I've been wanting to start the 9th book in the Wheel of Time series for a while now and haven't gotten around to it yet. I should put up my "Beware of Attack Gecko" sign up first though now that I'm thinking about it . . . again. Alright now I'm really off. No, no, really, I mean it this time. Wait, I should change my quotes at Land of Given first. They've been there for months without change. Ok so plan of attack is: change quotes, put up Gecko sign, put on sweatshirt, and read book. I may do the sweatshirt thing before the sign thing though. It depends on how cold I get between now and then.

Finally made it up to Oregon, yay! I arrived on Wednesday after a very long drive and just kinda crashed. Would have blogged yesterday but having only one connection between 2 people makes that kinda hard and I was being kinda lazy anyways. I kinda like my new room, I like the whole 1st floor thing. I also like the fact that my bed is movable to several different levels, it's kinda nice. Unfortunately there isn't much to do yet since school hasn't started yet. So I've got 3 days of mostly nothing to do.
Ended up with a bunch of free stuff when I got here (thanks to Sam's mom. I now have another couple of action figures, Dark Forces (which I've always wanted but never bought), loads more architecture scales, some glow-in-the-dark Star Wars stickers (yay!), and a few various other things.
ne, Chris I'll have to wait a while to continue working on you're layout. My studio computer won't be up and running until sometime after Monday so until then I'm kinda out of luck with working on it. I'll have to transfer the files to this computer once I get them so that I can work on them here.
Ok well that takes care of the interesting stuff in my life (pretty boring huh?) Got an interestin search query though: Where can I find people who play the Star Wars RPG in Stockton California. That has got to be one of the longest search queries I've ever seen. Too much stuff for it to pick up on. Granted I was playing Star Wars RPG in Stockton but you're not going to pick that up from my blog.

Well I washed and waxed my car today, so now it's all set up to get dirty again tomorrow. I really hate driving 8 hours to get up to Oregon with bugs splattering all over my car, but I don't have much of a choice.
Man, is it time for school already? I should probably start packing here soon, I'vee been putting it off for a while now. Me thinks I need to start. On the plus side I finally have my 19" tv and stand to put it on all ready and finished so at least that's ready to go. Now all I have to so is sort through all of my stuffs that's been sitting in my living room all summer and figure out what to bring to school with me.
Ok well I should probably get started on that stuff. Next time I blog I shall be in Oregon. Ta ta for now.

Hee hee, I'm glad youguys liked my layout. I was wondering how many people would figure out where the map came from ^_^ Saria I think your new layout is very spiffy too.
Speaking of new layouts Kimmie that is definately strange, but also kinda cool.

Interesting search query: "Winamp skin"+Star Wars+Wookie
Actually had an interesting weekend, was very busy though. First we went to my grandparents house to see my Aunt Carol and cousin Katy (who I hadn't seen in a while) one last time before I go back to Oregon. My Uncle Rob and family showed up too (which kinda surprised me). It was strange though cuz we ran into my Aunt Carol and Katy on the highway (they were coming from Oregon) and pulled into my grandparents house at the same time. Not a minute later my Uncle showed up as we were getting out of the cars. Very strange.
Today we left and drove to Vacaville to go to the Renissance Fair (something I've wanted to do for a long time). It was fun. Too much cool stuff that I want though. I ended up with a really cool pewter dragon statue. I love dragons and so I was very happy to add it to my collection. We also got to visit my Nana and Granddad since they live in Vacaville and it's been a long time since I've seen them. It was nice to visit since I don't think my Granddad is going to last much longer ;_; At least I got to see him again.
All in all it was a fun weekend. Unfortunately I have to spend the next two days packing to head back to school. Back to life in Oregon, fun, fun.

Finally got around to changing my layout. Hee hee, bet you never saw that one comming ^_^; It's something I've been planning for weeks and have been working on for weeks a little at a time. One thing I will say about the place I work at, it gives you a lot of time to think. It was kinda nice though while this layout was in production cuz I managed to get all of the quirks out of it before I put them in to begin with.

Well not much exciting going on today, went through my usual routeen. Which means not much happened, played video games, watched another tape of KKJ, surfed the internet, did a few other things, nothing exciting really so I haven't had a reason to blog. Today was a tad more interesting at least.
Got my computer fixed, yay! Turns out it was a combination of bad eithernet cards (two of them that didn't work, one of which was brand new too) and some confusion with the drivers in the thing. Fortunately I managed to find this guy (who normally doesn't do walk-ins) who allowed me to bring my computer in. An hour later it was fixed and I didn't really have to pay an extremely high price for the fix, which was nice. Will have to remember to call him again if I have another problem (provided I'm in Stockton at the time).
Other project for the day, staining the nightstand my mom bought for the tv for my dorm room. It's a process that I saw a lot at work (cuz I did a lot of it) so I kinda know what I'm doing in certain areas. Unfortunately it also means that I don't have access to a chair at the moment so I have to type knealing on the floor. Oh well, at least this should be done soon. Hopefully before the weekend cuz we were planning on visiting my grandparents this weekend. My Aunt Carol and cousin Katy were going to stop by on the way to our families cabin near Yosemite. However plans might change cuz of recient incidents.
This brings me to what happened to my cousin Erin (sister to Katy). Ok well for one thing Erin is a Hypocondriac when it comes to traveling. She can't go anywhere without getting sick or feeling bad in some way. As it turns out (unbeknownst to us) she was visiting her friend in New York (who happens to work across from the World Trade Center) and was leaving on a flight to get back here Tuesday morning. Needless to say her flight went down far from it's destination and she's now stuck in Chacago. Fortunately for her my Aunt Carol has a friend there who's taking care of her. Erin is also very lucky that she ignored the advice of her friend who told her to fly out of Dulles cuz she would have ended up on the flight that crashed outside of Pittsburg leaving me with one less cousin. So thankfully all is still ok family wise except for Erin who is still in shock and trying to find a way back here.
So there goes all the excitement in my life. I'll be going Lazer Tagging tomorrow . . . hmmm . . . come to think of it tomorrow is Chris's birthday. I'll have to do something about that.

Ok this has got to be the oddest search query I've ever gotten:
If I can not dance, I want no part in your revolution shirt

Well another successful LAN party. Well sort of successful, my computer fried 2 ethernet cards so we couldn't use it. Now we have to find someplace to figure out what's wrong with it and how we can fix it. That was the only thing that really sucked the entire time. Which was nice since we usually have a lot more problems with LAN parties.
Hee hee, I found this kinda funny. If you've ever seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail then you'll like this.
I have come to the conclusion that 15" televisions do not exist. So that just means that I have to get a 19" one instead. As it turns out a 19" one will fit the stand I was going to get for it perfectly so I'll be all set for college in that respect.
Thursday, September 6, 2001 If you can't find anything don't worry about it. There are nightstands that we manufacture that would probably work for the tv. My mom and I are going to go out this weekend to look at tvs and get a relative size of one to see if it'll work. I get an employee discount on anything I buy so it won't be all that expensive. If you want to see what it'll look like check out this website and look under the bedroom section. Just about every collection has a nightstand or small table that would work. Check it out and let me know what you want to do.

Yay!!! I got my new memory today. Now my old computer can run as fast as my new one (hee hee). I also got Worms World Party today too. I'll have to check that out before I go to bed tonight.
Got some more cards yesterday (what a surprise), so now I have another 61 to add to my total. I like collecting cards.

Hmmm . . . I forgot to tell you peoples what the name of my new Homie is. I've named him Stoned Homie. I figured it goes along with Homie D (short for Drunk Homie), Pimp Homie, Homie Ain't Got no Pants, and Big Fat Homie. He's tall and skinny and has the word "LURCH" on his shirt. He also reminds me of a guy who used to live a few houses down from me who got into trouble because he was doing drugs. So after all that I decided to name him Stoned Homie, he looks like he's stoned anyways.

Hmmmm . . . you know it's really getting to the point where I really hope she doesn't kill me while I'm rooming with her. *<-- is very afraid*
Oh and by the way the JAR moved to here. I finally got around to searching Google for it and found it. I was going to mention it earlier but forgot.
One other thing I want to ask you Sam I figure I'll pick up a 15" tv for our room, I can also get some small piece of furniture to put it on too unless you have something better? Or a better idea? Give me some feedback here. If I pick up something it'll have storage space in it to so we can store stuffs.
