Interesting story of the day:
Ok so I'm sitting here cleaning/packing up my room so that I can move on thursday and I remember that I lost my pencil a few days ago. Yes sadly my beloved mechanical pencil was discovered missing on saturday and I have yet to get a new one. So I decided to take a trip to the bookstore to replace it. While I'm at it I may as well return my one text book that I am absolutely sure I want to get rid of. I figure great, I can return the book and hopefully get enough to replace my pencil. (OK, how sad of a thought is that. "Maybe I can return this book in exchange for a pencil"?) Anyways I get to the bookstore and give them my book (I say give because it's more like a transaction where you give them the book and they say "thanks for the book, here's a quarter for your troubles." Very little money is actually involved). And how much do I get for this wonderful *cough* book? . That's not even enough to buy the cheapest mechanical pencil they have. I can't even buy a package of regular pencils for that. So sadly I have not replaced my pencil and I walked all the way to the bookstore for a measly . At least they could have given me a bill, that would have been something.

On a similar note, I happened to run into Paul on my way back from the bookstore. I relayed my lack of pencilage based on the fact that I couldn't get enough money by selling a book back to them to get it. The reason I bring this up, in case you're wondering, is because of the amusing dialogue that ensued from him during this conversation:

"Hi, I'd like to exchange this book for this pack of gum.
I'm sorry sir, the book isn't worth as much as the gum."

To say the least I was amused. Anyways off I go to continue packing.

Interesting quandry of the day. Ok so I'm supposed to burn this CD for my ECS presentation with Erica today. So I put all the files from our presentation onto a blank cd and suddenly these two random file appear. One was the theme from Gummi Bears in mp3 format and the other was an elevation of Corvallis from fall term. How on earth did this happen? The funny thing is that Erica has the Gummi Bears theme on her computer. Although we have no idea where the Corvallis elevation came from.
After pondering this for a long while we finally realized that the cd Jesika had given me was in fact not completely blank. Now why there would be an elevation of Corvallis and the Gummi Bears theme on the cd I'll never know.

So that was my excitement of the day. Not much else going on at the moment. I'm sick, which sucks. I have to get my stuff packed to move out of both stuido and my dorm room on thursday. I should probably do laundry in there somewhere too. So my next few days are going to be filled with washing and packing. Then there's the job thing. I have to find a job too. Ick.

Hi everyone. I know I said I probably wasn't going to blog until dead week, but right now I'm building a model in my studio and instead of watching glue dry (a very exciting process I must say) I decided to blog instead. So I thought I would share my adventures in Escape Velocity. What is Escape Velocity you ask? Well it's quite simple. Escape Velocity is this spiffy little game where you fly around in a space ship and blow things up and take over planets. (Well there are a few story lines too. But that isn't as much fun as taking over the galaxy and making lots o' money). Unfortunately/Fortunately for me it can only be played on a Macintosh. Which basically means that I can't play it unless I'm using Alex's computer.

So to begin my story (although I warn you it's rather short). I started off by telling this planet (or rather demanded) that it should pay me, the soon to be Emperor of the galaxy, tribute. Well obviously that didn't go over too well.

As you can see the planet sent out a fleet of huge ships to come after me. What you can't see is me in the center of all that orbiting the planet cloaked. If you'll notice on the radar up in the right hand corner there is a HUGE amount of red dots (them) and only a few green dots (my small fleet) on the outskirts. What was I to do? Well attack of course.

However that didn't go over well either.

Note that I have been destroyed and am in the process of blowing up.

At this point in time my ship (and small fleet) has been completely destroyed and the enemy's fleet is out searching for more people to destroy. The whole process took about 1.2 seconds, leaving me absolutely no time what-so-ever to even get a shot off.
The moral of the story: Don't uncloak in the midst of a mass of enemy ships unless you're darn certain that you can destroy them in less than a second.

This ends Dini's Story Hour. Come back again next week when we bring you Watching Glue: The Fun Thing to Do.

Bleh, haven't blogged. Don't have much going on. I now have a Cactuar plush. That's exciting. I'm debating on briefly putting my "Running of the Cactaurs" layout up in honor of my new cactuar. However seeing as how I have waaay too much to do till the end of dead week, I won't be doing much in blogland. End of dead week I'll catch up on bloggs and blog myself and such.

Ok, so because of a running joke that Alex, Nate, and I have had, I bring you this new card for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.

Basically we were joking about the fact that every Admiral in the Empire dies eventually at the hands of Darth Vader and he just promots the next person in line. It all lead up to him promoting Stormtroopers and such and eventually getting down to just having only the mouse droid left to promote. Hence "Admiral Mouse Droid."
We were a tad bit sad (but greatly amused) when we discovered that someone had gotten the idea before us. Check out the September 20, 1994 comic.

Ok so I know I haven't blogged in forever, but I have architecture work to do so I've been busy. I've also been busy trying to find a place to stay. So far things are looking like they'll be ok (well, hopefully). I'm planning on living in a quad next year with Sam (again), Jesika (one of my fellow arch students), and our friend Paul (he's a cool guy, and he has a tendency to call Sam WOMAN. It's amusing). Beyond that not much is going on.

Well ok so I lied, I'm getting a digital camera this weekend. I'm very excited about this because it means I can actually start working on a online portfolio of my architecture stuff. And digital cameras are just fun anyways because you can put the pics directly into your computer. Saves on the need for a scanner (that I dont' have).

My best friend AJ got a blog. It's definately an interesting setupn for a blog. Then again she didn't do it, it's just the standard blog program that she set herself up with. One of these days I'll have to teach her html so that she can make spiffy blog layouts too.

Sleep? What's that?

As stolen from the All Benevolent Dictator:

take the death quiz.
and go to mewing.net. laura = great.

Ok I can think of quite a few better ways to kill myself than that. Well maybe poison could be ok, but it depends on the poison. I think I'll just avoid the whole death thing a little longer anyways.

Hee hee I remember the first two quotes.

Tsua-sa~n, ne, get well soon.

I know not where Castro Vally is. I shant be back for summer as it is, but I do want to come back for a week or so, maybe I can go see you.
On another note, since I know you like Existenz you should really check out Avalon by Oshii Mamoru. It's actually a live action Oshii film, but it is very good.

Sucky on the chant thing. Lucky me gets to take that class next year. Although I did find that Yookoso parody funny.

I think that is all for now. I have gotten to the end of my social blogginess. So I shall go now. I can't really procrastinate on my arch homework for much longer if I want to get it done.
