Am back from AnimeIowa. (And back in one piece.) I have lots of things to report about this convention, but I may not get to describing them in detail until later on in the week, on account of the supervisors at my new job failing to comprehend my desire to work for them part-time and (contrary to my implied wishes,) slapping me with almost a FULL-TIME work schedule this next week.

Did I mention I'm still on unemployment and I don't get to SPEND any of this money I'm making on account of my having to report it to the government so they can dock it from my unemployment check? (So what this amounts to is that I'll be basically working my ass off this next week for nothing. Plus I'll have virtually no time to look for a job or to tend to any of my projects.)

God, I can tell I'm going to really LOVE this new job and my new thoughtful, caring, compassionate supervisors...

Okay, enough bitterness and bile. I actually have GOOD news to report. One of my artworks took Best in Show at the AI 2003 Art Show and one of my costumes (Ifurita) was awarded Best Hall Costume for Friday. Fansview.com has already posted pictures from the convention right here at this website. (See if you can tell who I am and what I'm dressed up as.)

Welp, I'm heading off to Anime Iowa tomorrow, if all goes as planned (and PLEASE GOD, LET IT FOR ONCE!!!!)

Ahem... I wasn't able to work on any new Hamlet pages as I've been busy these past few days with preparing for the convention and with my new job (which I hate already, which should come as no surprise.) If anyone comes up to me and bitches about my not updating my comics, I'll simply vaporize them with the Eye of God. (Yes, I'm planning on bringing my Ifurita costume along.)

If all goes well, I should be back by Sunday.

Yeah, I'm still alive. Just.

Been busy, though, making costumes for other people and trying to get my own costumes in order for Anime Iowa which I hope to be attending next week. I was thinking I ought to spend some time this week updating Hamlet so when I get to the con, I don't get bombarded with angry complaints from fans who think I've abandoned it. I only hope I can find the time to do so.

Time is short these days. I just started my new job at the fabric store. As I've already mentioned (about 6000 times), it doesn't pay much. But it DOES get me out of the house, (and when I'm there I'm so busy, I don't really have time to think about how much my life sucks.) And it forces me to interact with people, (which is good because during the past 6 months, my conversational skills have eroded to the point where I'm now simply grunting to express myself. Basically the only people who can understand me now are my cats and it's not like they CARE about anything I have to say.)

I've got a lot of e-mail I have to sort through and answer. I'll try to get that finished sometime this week if I can. But for now, am hungry. Am leaving. Must go eat. Ungh.
