I got home from AnimeIowa only to find myself laid up for a couple of days with a con-virus (and a general feeling of malaise and exhaustion caused by having to move my body around a lot more than I'm used to.) I did manage to get some actual content uploaded to this site. (I'm not the one who wrote it, of course. It's the widely anticipated next chapter of the Xenogears Thumbnail Theatre) Rejoice.

It is AnimeIowa. I am here. And I have a roomie with a laptop and an internet connection. Hence the reason I am able to present you with these pictures of AI's Friday Cosplay:

I'm wearing the BT and Sakura from Naruto costumes. Lots of good costumes here, I've noticed, and I expect to see lots more tomorrow. All in all, I'm happy with how the con is unfolding, although if I had my way, I'd hold it in a hotel that was a little airier. The Hotel Fort Des Moines is beautiful architecturally, but it seems to be lacking in those nice wide open spaces which are ideal for mass photoshoots. That and all the events of the con are spread amongst tiny rooms throughout the hotel, and travel between floors is difficult, thanks to the hotel's ancient and very temperamental elevators (and equally ancient and dangerous stairwells. I hear a bunch of people are putting together a Resident Evil cosplay photoshoot for next year's convention, which is also slated to occur in this hotel. The stairwells certainly seem a suitable environment for it).

Anyway, I've all sorts of things to report, but I'm too tires to think up ...witty.....stuff....I'll also have to turn in early if I'm to make it to the hall costume contest on time tomorrow. So good night and stay tuned...

Three more days until AnimeIowa 2004. Until then, I'll be sitting around, waiting with bated breath as every minute ticks by, waiting for something to go horribly wrong and for my plans to all fall through. But if, by some miracle, I DO wind up going, I've got some artwork I'm planning to auction off. And if, by another miracle, I can get my BT, Sakura and Ashe costumes to the con unstained and intact, I'll be wearing those all weekend. (I don't think I'm going to drag my Sun Shang Xiang costume along. For one thing, AI's weapon's policy is very strict, and the problem of trying to figure out how to peacebond a pair of deadly-assed oversized chakram is more than my brain can handle at this point. Also, I'm already carrying enough costumes and props down there to supply a small theatre company, so I'd better just leave them behind and go with the simpler stuff.)

Busy week for me. I'll try to answer my e-mail on a timely basis, but if I don't, know that --in the case of most of you-- it's not because I hate you with every fiber of my being. And it's not because I am an antisocial deviant who'd just as soon bathe in acid as communicate with my fellow human beings. (Well, I AM an antisocial deviant who'd just as soon bathe in acid as communicate with my fellow human beings, but that's not the reason I'll be ignoring my e-mail THIS week, 'swhat I'm trying to say...)

Ciao.
