It's been something of a difficult week for me. Granted, given the state of the world today, things could be a lot worse for yours truly. Which is why I shall try to keep the usual ubiquitous whining to a minimum this week. Really, about the only thing I have to whine about is the fact that the Vincent Valentine Claw and Foot Armor I had made about a month ago and sold on ebay got lost in the mail en route to it's buyer, (for whom I had to scramble and build another claw and another pair of foot armor in time for said buyer's anime convention this Saturday.) I sent the armor out by express mail the day before yesterday, but there has, as yet, been no word from the buyer as to whether or not Vincent Claw 2.0 was received. I can only assume the buyer's stony silence is a sign that it had been, (seeing how people are more apt to make noise when things go awry than they are when packages finally end up going where they're supposed to.)

Oh, in other news, I've made myself another costume. "The hell you say!" you say. Just why would I do a thing like that? Well, it's because the Japanese students at our local college were putting together a Japan Night Cultural celebration and they invited our school's local anime club to participate. I and some of my fellow otaku showed our solidarity and support for the event by cosplaying as some of our favorite characters. (I confess, The Seras Victoria outfit I put together hadn't been my first choice to wear to the event--I originally wanted to use this opportunity to trot out my Lady Chris from Suikoden 3 costume. Unfortunately, my attempts to style the wig which I had bought for the costume ended in my committing wig-a-cide upon it. So I had to move to another character whose costume I could throw together rather quickly (and who had a relatively simple hairstyle) and so my latest cosplay creation was born. (Although I'm not too happy with the cheapie wig I bought for it. If I ever wear this to a con, a new set of less blazingly-neon tresses is a definite must.)

I just got back from the Japan Night celebration a couple hours ago --a celebration which basically consisted of a bunch of Japanese students putting on Japan-related skits while Japanese food was being served buffet style in Dinner Theatre fashion. The event had some interesting moments, although the entire thing had something of a "3rd graders putting on a Christmas play" feel to it. You kind of wondered if anyone bothered to rehearse for it, or if they all just put on funny hats and trusted their luck. Oh well. At least the food was decent. Once we had finally been allowed to eat it.

Wish I could've taken some home. The fridge is empty again. (Well... empty-ER than it usually is...) Gotta go grocery shopping tomorrow. Yay. Fun.
