Something terribly sad has happened. Y'all remember how I moved down to North Carolina for a few weeks. (What's that you say? You didn't even notice I was gone? *Sigh.*) Okay. Sometime back in March, I went down to North Carolina to live with a nice lady, her family, and several thousand of her pets. One of these pets was a white rag-doll kitten named Posieden. He was a cute little charmer (as kittens are wont to be) and he was doubly affectionate, on account of his breed. Well, I learned yesterday that this cat had just died unexpectedly of FIP. (Which is like AIDS, for cats, except it's caused by a different kind of virus, and it can be spread by non-sexual contact.) I was reading up on this disease and what I read turned my blood cold. Did you know the virus can linger on surfaces the cat has touched (like human clothing) for weeks? I wish I had known that fact a few weeks ago. For all I know, I could have had this virus all over me, spreading it around to every cat I've come in contact with like some dim-witted, cat-loving Typhoid Mary. I only hope to God I haven't infected my parent's cats with this gunk, because I know for certain that my parents don't take kindly to having Feline Alien Death Viruses living in their home (and they take even LESS kindly to the unthinking morons who bring it into the house and infect their cats with it.)
Anyway, I dunno what I'm going to do. I can only hope this all blows over without any serious consequences. I'm hoping that this, like most other sources of worry in my life, is just something which I'm blowing entirely out of proportion simply because I like to put myself through as much unnecessary suffering as possible. (We'll see, I guess. *Sigh*)
Hard to segway into a sales pitch from that last paragraph, but here I go: Ahem. I've got some more prop and costume items up for sale on ebay. Have a look at them and if you see anything which strikes your fancy, (or if you just want to cheer me the hell up fer crissakes,) bid on it.
Welp, back to my *yaaaaawnnnn* exciting Job Hunt.....
