Life trudges on. Yesterday my Dad rented a truck and we set about the grim task of collecting everything I've accumulated over the past few years, driving it all down (in a blinding snowstorm) to my parent's house and then trying to cram it all into their tiny, mason-jar-sized basement. Needless to say, it wasn't fun. And I still have the final cleaning of the apartment left to do yet. Busy busy busy me. I'll spare you from hearing me natter on about the long list of health problems and tribulations I'm currently facing (cause I'm sure you're tired of hearing me whine about such things) and just say that if you've left me a comment or have e-mailed asking me advice about anything, don't expect an answer for awhile. A long while.

Oh and Happy Halloween.

I've been silent this past week, which is surprising because a bunch of shit has happened. First off, some kid in the high school down the block got tired of being picked on by his peers because of his acne, so he decided to take a gun and blow away two of his fellow classmates. One died and the other's still clinging to life in the hospital. It was big news around here, especially since things like that aren't supposed to actually happen in a close-knit, inbred, podunk town like this. (They're supposed to just simmer underneath the surface lending a dark, seamy, sordid air of hypocrisy to our small town, like they do to every other small town in existence.) But happen it did, and it's a really sad state of affairs around here. (To make matters worse, since I live right next to the town cemetery , so I could see the funeral for the kid that died going on right outside my window. The entire town was there. It was a pretty sobering sight.) It was an event which certainly put my own comparitively small problems into perspective, (although said problems still continue to plague me and make my life a living hell.)

One of these problems: Employers who show a great deal of interest in me and who seem hell-bent on interviewing me. Only when it comes time to do the actual HIRING, they've got lead in their shoes. "Oh, we've got a lot to do this week, we'll decide on who to hire NEXT week." Sure. You said that LAST WEEK, lady. Go ahead, take your time. It's not like I'm in a fucking HURRY here. It's not like I have bills to pay or am about to destroy my own credit or get thrown out of my own apartment or anything. Hey, maybe you guys wouldn't have so much work to do if you actually HIRED someone from time to time instead of just interviewing them and stringing them along for months at a time. Sheesh...

I'm really sorry I haven't been able to keep up with my e-mail or page updates. My internet connection here is very slow (when I get the chance to use the internet AT ALL.) So you'll just have to bear with me while my life is in limbo. I really haven't been able to accomplish much these past few weeks anyway, although I did get a chance to go to the Renaissance Festival a couple of times (thanks to generous friends offering free rides and free tickets.) I managed to post a few pictures too:

Yeah, that's me in the red wig and the saucy wench wear. Although if I had it to do over again, I'd have worn something different, as it was HORRIBLY COLD that day (as if that fact weren't glaringly evident from some of the pictures... ^_^;)

G'bye for now. I've got to go eat lunch, make some more fruitless job-search-related phone calls and beat up my little brother, (not necessarily in that order...)
