Yesterday, on what I'm sure will have been the last nice day for the rest of this year, I went down with my family to Redwing, Minnesota. Redwing's sort of a tourist trap town, famed for it's pottery, antique barns, and it's lovely autumn scenery. These are things I usually have very little interest in, except for times when I'm just so sick of my computer that I need to get away from it for awhile and do something pointless and non-demanding. Like walking through an antique mall filled with turn-of-the-century car batteries. It doesn't get much more pointless and non-demanding than that. Actually, I did have fun and, aside from some overpriced-yet-extremely-delicious-although-not-quite-delicious- enough-to-warrant-my-paying-12-dollars-a-pound-for-it-chocolate, I got away without having to spend any money.

And that's important, seeing as how I'm visiting my dentist later this month. Thanks to my weakness for overpriced chocolate (and to a prank-minded creator who saw fit to give me chalk-covered chiclets instead of actual honest to god TEETH,) I expect my dental bill will be pretty high this time around. I've been selling a few items on ebay to raise the necessary funds. (Well, selling isn't really the correct word. I've been posting items for sale, getting people to bid high prices on them, and then having said people vanish off the face of the earth without paying for them. That's not the same as "selling". Not by a longshot.)

Kevin sent me a couple more scenes from his Xenogears Thumnail Theatre and I've posted them. (We're also working on posting a Grandia 2 TT as well. As soon as I can finish transcribing the script. What I've already gotten down has been posted here if you're interested.

Welp, I hope you all have a nice rest of the week. (And if you owe me money, PAY ME, DAMMIT!!!)

I dunno what's up with ebay these days. What with all their technical glitches and their constant attempts to "improve" the website (which only serve to make it less intuitive and user-friendly by the day.) And now they've gone and cancelled the auction I posted for my Fuuma Shuriken Prop, saying it violates their weapons policies. I understand their concern to keep dangerous weaponry out of the hands of the young and the irresponsible (although how a plastic shuriken could be considered any more dangerous than the thousands of REAL WEAPONS with ACTUAL REAL SHARP EDGES that ebay sellers peddle everyday to anyone old enough to convince their parents to let them use their ebay accounts is beyond my capacity to understand.) For the record, I'm not the only person selling fake shuriken on ebay, but I seem to be the only one they've singled out for banishment. Lucky me.

In any case, I've gone back and rewritten my item description, downplaying the weapon's realism and coolness, making the pictures smaller, and plastering the text with all sorts of warnings about personal safety and responsiblity. (And with phrases like "THIS IS A FAKE PROP. FAAAAKE. AS IN, NOT REAL. IT HAS NO SHARP EDGES. IT IS NOT DANGEROUS. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE THROWN OR USED IN ANY SORT OF COMBAT SITUATIONS. IF YOU DO TRY TO USE IT UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS, THEN YOU DESERVE TO DIE YOU PANCAKE-BRAINED MORAN.") I've reposted the auction here. I can only hope ebay doesn't look at this as a vindictive attempt to circumvent their policies and cancel my account with them altogether. (One never knows in this age of corporate ass-covering. Bunch of morans....)

Oh, and I've just posted a couple more chapters of Why Me: A Vinnie Yuffie Fanfic along with their respective chapter illustrations. This is Chris' latest fanfic endeavor. He's hoping the momentum from this project will be enough to swing him back towards a Shards of Chaos update. (I'm sure a show of support for his latest project should help in tipping the balance that way. At least, I hope it will...)

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I can't wait for winter to arrive around here. Because then maybe they'd stop some of this damn road construction and I could get from point A to Point B without having to detour 80 miles. I understand the streets around here are in desperate need of repair and re-routing, but I would think whoever's in charge of the whole deal could come up with a better strategy than "Let's simultaneously close every street in town rendering it completely inaccessible from the outside and it's residents completely unable to escape." That's not a sound town-planning strategy, folks, that's the setup for a horror movie.

Okay, I'm done whining for the day. I'm pleased to announce the birth of a brand new webfeature: a fanfic penned by the mighty Dust Traveller named: Why Me?: A Love Story for Manic -Depressives. Yes, I know I have another fic on my website from the same author which hasn't seen an update in ages. (No, I don't know when he's going to update it. No, I don't know if he's going to finish the fic he's currently working on. Life's full of uncertainty. Deal.) I hope you enjoy it.

I should also mention that I have a number of ebay auctions going on including some of the costumes I took to AnimeIowa. (Not the Sakura one, though. I'm a-keepin' that one. Izzo cuuuuuuuuute <3....
