I'm bored and I'm poor. And that's not a fun combination. So, to pass the time (and to keep me from hitting my head against the wall as a means of stress relief,) I went and added a few more costumes to my Studio Onyx Art and Cosplay Gallery. I'm also trying to deal with the massive e-mail backlog which is currently clogging my inbox (albeit not very successfully thus far.)

Besides being bored and poor, another reason I'm bummed out is because a couple of people I was hoping would come with me to Anime Iowa have decided not to go. Money problems have been cited, but I think it's more a general lack of interest on their part. Which is fine, I guess. I just wish I hadn't gone through all the trouble to make one of these friends an elaborate costume for the event. Under normal circumstances, I probably wouldn't let myself get bent out of shape about it, but this is the 5th time I've bust my butt to create a lovely convention costume for someone who seemed enthusiastic about it at first but who wound up not wearing it. I know it's mostly my fault this kind of thing happens, as I seem to have more interest in cosplaying than all the rest of my friends put together. (Which is sad.) So in the future, the next time a buddy of mine wants me to make them a costume, I'm going to have an iron-clad legal agreement drawn up stating that they agree to wear said costume for X period of time at X convention. And if they don't, I have a legal right to go over to their house and help myself to all their worldly possessions. Sounds good, don't it?
