I'm beginning to think major holidays are dangerous to my health and well-being. First, I get canned on Valentine's Day, then today, on the cusp of Independence Day, I get into a car accident. A fender-bender, mind you, but one which, --and I don't think I'm exagerrating by any measure by my saying this-- is the most ill-timed fender-bender in the whole history of human existence. I still do not have a job and after today's futile session of cold calling and self-deprecation, it does not look as if I will be getting one in the near future.

So it looks as if things are going to become very...inconvenient for me for a while. I don't know what effect this will have on my ongoing creative projects, but seeing as how all my current free-time activity now consists of me standing out in the fields, shaking my fists at the heavens and damning whatever Supreme Being endowed me with the curse called life, I can't imagine it will be very condusive to my artistic output.

Or to my sanity for that matter.

What's the next major holiday? Labor Day? You can bet I'm going to be hiding in a corner of my closet with my trusty .22 by my side when THAT baby rolls around... (At my current holiday-to-disaster-ratio rate, Armageddon will probably set in by Christmas... Although on the upside, this means y'all won't have to waste your money or fry your brain cells deciding what to get each other. You've got me to thank for that.)

You're welcome.

Happy 4th.

I've just posted another pair of Alucard/Hellsing gloves on ebay. I've also got some doujinshi (sent to me by friend and unofficial angel, Linda S.) to post at some point in the near future. Look for it next week.

Look for me to update Elder Star at some point in the next week as well. The reason I can't work on it and post it THIS week is because I'm driving down to the Cities to stay with my parents for the 4th of July weekend (also to make a concerted effort to find a job down there, as there doesn't seem to be a single open job in my chosen career field within a hundred mile radius of where I currently live.) I hope to God I'll have more luck on this front soon because I'm finding it harder to keep my spirits up. Especially when I'm having publishing places send me rejection letters just for sending them my resume. (It seems I can't even GET to the interview stage before being rejected these days.) Oh well, at least they took the trouble to acknowledge my existence. A lot of places I send resumes to won't even do THAT.

Ehh.

Happy 4th of July everybody.
