Today, I posted
this. I'm hoping it will be of use to at least SOME of you cosplayers out there. (Specifically, those of you cosplayers who like to create costumes with a maddening amount of detail. Costumes for which the amount of time you'll spend making them to the amount of time you'll spend wearing them is at a ratio of at least 1000 to 1.) I hope you enjoy it, and may God have mercy on your souls...

Argh! This is the last time I trust a video game walktrough I download from the internet. Sure, it told me about the secret passage in the castle in the middle of town, but what it failed to mention was that said secret passage was chock full of basass enemies capable of killing my entire party of puny Level 11 adventurers with just a single swipe of their sharp, polyagonal claws and that, if I wanted to avoid hanging myself with the Playstation 2 power cord in despair after being killed off, that I'd better damn well save the hour's worth of gameplay I just finished BEFORE heading into the town with the castle. (Geez, who the HELL puts a monster-filled dungeon in the middle of a damn TOWN, anyway?)

Uhh.. So.. I suppose there were those of you who were expecting me to do something useful today instead of blowing all my precious free time on a pasttime which requires zero creative input from me whatsoever... Yeah..well.. All I can say is... get used to disappointment. (At least for the next couple of days...)

Today I really couldn't bring myself to accomplish much, thanks to my aching joints and to the general feeling of malaise I've been having lately. I DID however, manage to dig up enough ambition to spiff up my Bored of the Rings Fansite, making the columns on the Exceprts Pages narrower and easier to read and posting a new drawing to the Fanart page. Oh, and adding a self-pluggity little linkie to the bottom of said fanpage, hoping (perhaps vainly) that it would lure viewers to the rest of my website. Will this shameless little bit of self-promotion prove fruitful in the end? Only time will tell.)
You're probably all wondering why I haven't done anything manga-related for such a long while. Well, I suppose much of it has to do with the fact that I'm all "manga'ed out", thanks to the intensive-almost-to-the-point-of-psychologically-damaging-myself effort I put forth in creating my entry for the Tokyopop manga contest. An entry which I, quite frankly, was not satisfied with, as I only had three months to scrape up a story and draw the comic. I personally feel that, to create a decent comic, an artist needs at least FOUR months to half a year to come up with the story scenario, character designs, and all that little techie shit which needs to be developed before a manga pen can even touch the paper. Yeah, yeah...I know my current ramblings have something of a "sour-grapes" nature to them. I guess I'm just trying to justify all that time I spent on a manga which I feel (or rather, fear) really isn't going to do all that well. But who knows?...
Damn. I still haven't written a weekly rant for Elder Star. Shit. I haven't even sent wallpaper to the latest person who made a donation To Elder Star.. Gaahhh! I HATE Depression....
