Well, it looks as if I might finally have a job. A retail job. In a fabric store. It'll be seasonal, at least at first, so...no benefits. 6.50 an hour. Not many hours per week. But at least I'll get a 15 percent discount on fabric. (That alone ought to save me thousands of dollars per year.)
And at least I'll be able to tell people that I'm doing SOMETHING besides sitting on my ass, typing self-pitying weblog entires.
I guess this means that I am now no longer a struggling Graphic Designer. I am officially a washed up Graphic Designer. And my 4-year degree, well... it's become purely a decorative item now. I have to admit, it sure looks pretty sitting on my shelf, and when the sun hits the golden lettering emblazoned across the front of it which reads "Magna cum Laude", well... I just get a warm fuzzy feeling inside. The kind of feeling one can only get when one knows one is the world's smartest loser. Oh well, at least I can rest easy knowing I'm no longer in debt for this $40,000 piece of toilet paper. (A lot of my friends who have degrees and who are who are in the same boat as I am don't even have THAT going for them.)
I'm almost halfway through the final coloring process for the next page of ES. (I know I promised to have it done by today but, you know. That whole job interview thing. Kinda sucked up all my time and energy today. Maybe tomorrow I'll have somethin'.)
Ja!

No, I haven't QUITE gotten back to drawing comics yet. Instead, I spent the entire first half of the day cleaning my closets. Whilst doing so, I came upon the remnants of my Otaku Barbie project (I had made the dolls and taken pictures of them months ago, but hadn't gotten around to posting them online along with the necessary words...)
Until now...

My Final Fantasy X Thumbnail Theater is finally finito. (Which means that yes, I will be back to drawing comics very soon. Thank you for your patience...and for not sending me any more e-mail bombs.)

I was feeling slightly ambitious today. Ambitious enough to finally have my car's oil changed (an act which I feel may have doubled or even tripled its value,) and to finally post a new webfeature which e-buddy and fellow Thumbnail Theater collaborator, Kevin had sent me a looong time ago: Nagare Akatsuki's Guided Tour of Nadesico Fanfiction. Yes folks. More sweet, tasty, Nadesico-y thumbnail theater goodness. Eat it up. Yum.
I would like to point out that the auction for my Hellsing/Alucard Cosplay Gloves is still going on. Has about another day left. (So bid early and bid often, folks. Heh.)
I still plan on making it to AnimeIowa. (I figure I'm not going to spend anything while I'm there. Just show off my costumes. And raid the Free Snacks and Soda Room from time to time.) My buddy Jared and I were planning on forming a Hellsing group. I still can't decide on whether I want to go as Seras or Integra. I have the Seras costume done already, but I don't have the red contacts for it. Plus, for an all-day event like this, I feel Integra would just be a more comfortable costume to wander around in. No chafeing, butt-groping or thigh-high stockings to worry about. Plus I've already got the glasses. (Who knew my nearsightedness would ever prove to be such an advantage? )
I was also planning on forming a Suikoden 3 group with another friend whose name I won't mention, (and whom I went to the trouble of making a costume for. I mean, a really NICE costume for.) Unfortunately, this friend's enthusiasm for the con seems to have fizzled, as he has apparently forgotten completely about it despite my mentioning it to him 37,000 times (and has apparently, all this time, been assuming that what I was working on was his Halloween costume.)
Hunh.
Methinks... I need to have a looong talk with this individual....
Soon...
