Welp, I've finished my latest re-re-re-re-re-re-reformatting and reinstallation of all the programs on my computer-- this latest headache being caused by some evil malware monkeys who thought it would be cool to upload an unstoppable ubervirus to my computer via a pop-up window. As angry as I am at the tiny, shrivelly-penised cyberpimps who wrote the virus, I'm even angrier at myself because I knew better than to use Internet Exploder for my online browsing, and yet I used it anyway. Fool. Fool, I say!

The good weather still continues, although its day-brightening benefits have been somewhat offset by the constant, non-stop construction occuring in this town-- which has rendered most of its residents (including me) unable to leave it. I don't know what the highway people were thinking when they created their work schedule. "Okay, let's shut down every road in town during the 4th of July holiday weekend." "Yeah. It's not like anybody actually has to GO anywhere during that time." Feh. It's a madhouse, I tell you. A maaaadhouse...

I wish we were friends with the people next door. They have a pool. *sigh*

My latest round of ebay auctionsis drawing to a close. Up for bids are some costume items, including a Suikoden 3 cosplay outfit which took me 30 hours to create (and which was worn for only 30 minutes. That's a 600 to 1 construction to display ratio. Pretty dismal... That'll learn me to make costume for people who don't really like to wear them. *sigh.* Again, fool. Fool, I say!)

I've finally got my computer and DSL hookup working, although getting them to work was a Herculean task thanks to Microsoft's penchant for building obsolesence into everything it makes. (At one point, my MSN installer software informed me that my Windows browser was too out of date to work. It then helpfully suggested a website where I could download a newer version. Which would have been useful to me HAD I BEEN ABLE TO GET ON THE DAMN INTERNET AT THAT TIME.) Fortunately, my brother had a newer version of the browser on his computer, but even after copying and uploading it to MY computer, I was still unable to get my connection to work thanks to the dreaded MSN Connection Wizard, which seemed to think I had a dial-up connection and a working 56k modem, (which I did NOT.) God knows how I managed to get connected in the end, but here I am. I'm connected. I'll answer my incoming e-mail as soon as I can. Got tons of job-hunting-type stuff to tend to tomorrow. (After all, I have to figure out a way to PAY for this fancy connection, don't I?)

*sigh*
