It took several hours of drilling, linking chains and re-wiring, but Dad and I finally got my new Chinese lantern installed in my bedroom. (Actually, it's not a new lantern; for the last twenty years it's been hanging in Tom Moy's Chinese Restaurant- up until they moved to a new location, and had to sell off most of their decor items. I managed, (through one of those rare good turns of fate that comes my way every so often --just often enough to keep me from killing myself) to pick up the lantern for a mere ten bucks. Oh sure it needed re-wiring and a heavy scrub to remove the twenty years worth of cigarette tar, dust and MSG clinging to its surface, but for ten bucks.... C'mon, what have YOU ever gotten (of a non-food, non-sexual-favor nature) that was THIS cool for ten bucks?

Oh yeah?..Well...did it have big-ass shiny plastic DRAGONS?...Ha...I didn't think so....
