I've not had a drunken entry in soooo long. Let me tell you. Dave came out to see us tonight. So fucking awesome. It was amazig. Meet him at the Tstop. The "Go Sox" lighting was up at the Pru. Got a pic on my cell phone. We went to Jullian's. Packed. Went to Kings. Mostly-packed. Drank. Watched Sox paly. Bowled. Watched Sox lose, horriabley. Went home. Fucking awesome amazing fabulous to see dave. Awe, sobering up.

On the way back from blockbuster ::shivers:: Skuld and I were meditating on the Ninja Turtles and slash. Anyway, we're doing this movie series this year. We switch off everyother week to educate the other on really great movies. I'm focusing on the classics, she's got the more hip, edgy stuff. Great combo. I still have to grab Chris for the Ten Commandments.

Good taste in movies. Likes: Godzilla (gojira), Dr. Strange Love, and Metropolous. (big points for saying he hated Last Samurai the first day of class).

Throws out random Japanese words in class.
Throws out awesome stories about influentual people he's met.
Knows what I'm thinking by my stupid-ass facial expressions. He was going on about labor problems and I had a smirk and he confessed, "I know, I know too much abou this." A very personable guy.

I love learning. Why do I always seem to put this shit off? Once I get going, I love it. fuck.

I stopped a robbery the other week. A guy was walking down the street and just snagged a pumpkin from a florist. I said, "Hey! That's not yours. Put it back." And he did. Go me!

It was Umair's and my dad's b-days. gotta get them something.

alex and I had a fight, but it got better. silly fight anyway. just some hurt feelings.

Had first DimSum. Saw Jeanine at LotR. that was awesome. That saturday night sucked though, nothing in boston is under 21 after 8pm. even bowling allies. damn. Sean, Skuld and I should've dumped the kids. Don't get me wrong. Asian Mike and the gal were nice. as was the college asian. but the highschooler was... odd. and they made Kakashi-sensei drive them around at 10pm picking and dropping people off. He got home at 1. tsk. We love you for your not ride, kakashi!

Got to have lunch with Matt Chan today. someone I've not seen for... a long time. since I left for japan. and not much that year. I seem to remember Jazmine being against me on general principal. grr. anyway, awesome to see the boy again.

I just realized that the Saturday law school fare directly coensides with dimsum and tLotR. I might have to skive off dimsum, which makes me super unhappy seeing as how ive not been to dimsum yet this year. :o(

today was very scary. Last night, Alex was sleeping over and the poor thing was sick and kept coughing all night. The by-product of this is that he kept waking me up. At one point during the night, my computer did that wrrrrrr thing it does with its fan every once and a while. It was loud. I was scared that it would wake up Skuld, who'd been up really late and needed her sleep. So I rushed/stumbled/fell out of bed and just did the button turn off to turn it off quickly. I blame my out-of-it-ness for this. The non-shutting-down-properly fucked up a windows file so it wouldn't boot. I was scared. and cranky a good chunck of the day. thank god for dining hall food. it saved my mood.

but yay, Skuld. Between us, mostly her, we got my windows boot disk and replaced the file by coding in dos. yay dos! it got fixed, we rock, the end.

Episode 13 of Samurai 7 out. Also, PS2 still broken. no japanese dating sims to 'practice' my japanese on. :o( Skuld's going through even worse withdrawl.

LSATs.... BROKEN!

Damn shibby. They're done. What now? Apply to LAW SCHOOLS!!!!

Big thanks to everyone for their support and prayers. Alex was awesome. All the folks back home for their prayers. My roomie was supportive and annoying with the "GRE" cracks. This is the coolest thing that I got. Rosy SO knows what destresses me, and it's the best present I can get. Post-LSAT smut. <3 I love you, Rosy! ::feels loved:: Y'all were great, thanks for stickin by me.

Saturday night was a blast. Went to Alex's high school reunion. 6 year. Got to meet and schmooze with his peps. Josh and Jacob were perticularly entertaining. Alex needs to rope Josh into coming to Anime Boston with us.

Later, we moved onto Sunset for a lovely dinner with Skuld, Alex, Will, and MacAle and gal. Good times and pumpkin brew.

Next day was ug morning, but a lovely dinner date with Alex. And the Sims2~! yay! Kind slow on my computer though. ;__; And playing Japanese dating sims is amazing for kikitori and yomitori. yay self-gratifying learning!

Today was fucking biiii-say. Classes. pop-quiz in japanese. that's just wrong. homework outcome here. Yay first flash! skipped CS class to go to the JET info meeting. Ah, salerymen. REAL ones. from japan. natsukashii. Hilary and I chatted, then played frisbee. Decided that our frisbee was too light, and butted in on these guys' game. More chatting. hw. Bumped into Stef and Matt at Lollicup. Pre-Law society meeting. ran into umair on streets. Walked home with a freshmen from the pre-law soc. Name's Anne, happened to be from St. Louis. Ate dinner at Myles, chatted with alex on phone. Poor baby's still at work. Prob will be till 11pm. :o( Chatted with grandma on phone on way home. home now. phew!

In a follow-up, Amberlee apparently did write Lawrence slash. Well written at that! ::applauds:: not that any of her stuff isn't well written, but ya know.

Busy day running all around campus. Called mom this morning for law school admissions addies. Showed the fire inspector around. chatted awkwardly with my japanese sensei. classes. dining meal hectics. several hours spent on that. filled out and turned in law stuff. more classes. food. chatted on phone. reading. bought a book. searched for a helmet and a bike lock. didn't find one. swipped into a BU dorm for hte first time in a year and a half. destressed by drawing a panel of our comic. You need to get on straitening out our Spoonish.net Did house chores and work week. Throught sore. I blame alex and skuld. probibly shouldn't have eatten that easy mac of hers. some homework and im ready for bed.

Much studiage. Listening to the distant cheers coming from Fenway. It's a Yankee/Sox game today, which means much yelling and honking of horns if we win, sullen blessed silence if we lose. Listen to me, I'm talking we here. But as Skuld put it, it's hard to not be swept up in the Boston fever. It's very similar to St. Louis in a way. Easy to fall into that habit of saying, "How'd we do today?"

Much studiage for the LSATs. I'm kinda hyperfocused on them now. 5 points. I can do it! had another prac test today. bleah. I'm tired and sick and i wanna sleep.

Yesterday saw the ever elusive Mel, back from Japan for a bit. Yay leather pants! And got to see the even more elusive bf.

Rants follow. Avoid unless you want to read my whining:
I've had some rough points in the past couple weeks with two of my close friends. One I hurt, one I was hurt by. Lori, in a statement half ment for me, stated quite clearly that she felt neglected. Solution? Talk more! Call me too, Lori!
Also Umair. He said somethings on IM the other day the infuriated the fuck out of me. Nothing but desparaging remarks aimed at me come from him. And while I realize that our relationship is built on teasing, I'd like some sign of respect and friendship. Secondly, he just hasn't shown an interest in seeing me. I know he comes to see me every summer at Otakon, and that's good, but... I mentioned that we should get lunch together and his reply was "why should I waste my free day on Ashley?" obviously teasing, but it built up. Plus, the only time he's seen me is when he came over to use my fucking scanner. The final and most hurtful straw was when he called me greedy, or was it glutionous? I do respect the man's spiritualism and I asked why. The responce? He'll not tell me and let me think upon my actions. That he thought of himself as a mentor first and a friend to me second. WTF? You just cannot assign yourself mentor status. Are my actions and thoughts immature and inferiour to your own? Do you not value me as a friend? If I want your guidence, I'll fucking ask for it. I still havn't talked to him about it. Not quite sure how to.

Ah. I realize that there are so many great things that I could write, and it's often the negitive that gets focused on and bitched about, so let me take this time to thank God for all my friends and family who are awesome people and make my life that much better by their presence.

Basically all I'm doing nowadays is reviewing for the LSATs. I work on it at least an hour or three everynight. ::sighs:: I'm still hovering around 160. 5 more points. Dammit.

I promised I'd start bloggin, and here I am.

Summer's over. It was a long one. Semi busy. Took LSAT classes, those LSATs are looming nearer, and nearer. Worked at a pizza place. And kinda got part of my life in order. It was nice. It was also a lonely summer. I had the companty of my Mom, Patrick, and Frances and Lori. Sadly, no one else. Though I did strike up my friendship with Chuck again. He's a good guy.

Work week's over, and school has begun. September is gonna be busy shit. Ever present in my life is Alex. A heavy school work load. Studying and taking the LSATs, which are KEY to me getting into a good law school. Preperation, paperwork, and actual applying to law schools. Skuld and I are starting a web comic. (Domain forthcoming) So I'm pretty much booked for September. Bleah.

And this weekend, the 11th, Alex is throwing a party at his house. All KCJSers are welcome!

Sumou is amazing! Yesterday, we took a wild ride down to Osaka with MacDougall-sensei, Dave, Chris (Dave's state bud), Denman, John, Ben, and Dillion. hot shit. many grappling and bring downs. and when we left the arena there was a man playing a drum 6 stories up. this was followed by all you could eat sushi. Dave and Ben had a little compition. the highest number was 36 plates eatten. They made it to 21. I was proud at my 11 plate number. then we wondered around osaka and played at some arcades.

today is an exciting day spent at the center doing homework. joy. I'm eagerly awaiting my Windows XP cd for my computer is offically trashed. damn Windows ME. I'm surprised it lasted this long. Thanks, hon.

Today was fun! I didn't think it would happen, but it did! One of the things that I had to do before I left Japan was buy a wall scroll. the nice painted ones. It was an errand that turned out fun. I knew that you could get old ones at the bi-monthly festivel by Jeanine's place. So after school, Linlin and I headed up there. took an hour by bus. was worth it. I got my wall scroll of calligraphy. bargined in japanese. then the fun begain. it was a festival so I got candy. and i did the fish game with the paper loop. I got 27 on my first try! soooo fun. linlin was inpressed. much eating of food followed with me and linlin reflecting that it was like us reclaiming our japanese childhood, not that we ever had one to reclaim, but still. I wanted to buy a mask but they were 800. takai! so we wondered into the shrine and the sakura are starting to bloom there. and because it was a festival, and it was dusk, all of the stone lanterns were lit. Neither linlin nor I had ever seen a stone lantern lit. it was awesome! I prayed at the shrine which is for scholarly pursuit. BIG bell. fun to ring. all in all a nice afternoon.

now I just have to study for 2 kanji quizes, prepare a powerpoint for my final happyou, memorize that happyou, meet my sensei tomorrow, write that final paper, make my cube, take all my finals, turn in hw, and catch up in my reading. phew. all in the next 2 weeks. social life? I better still have one. It's my last couple weeks with these guys.

what's this? Ashley's updating? well it's almost 6am. still jetlagged obviously. oh yeah. I went skiing in whister canada with my host mom and dad. good times. had a head cold the first day, that sucked. weather was always sucky, visiblity bad. but still fun skiing. and there were a shit load of japanese there. big japanese tourist trap.

and before that, Im sure you all know that Alex flew out to see me. <3 started off not so fun, but I think he had a blast near the end. took him to an onsen for v-day. he ate dinner with my parents. we saw the new one piece movie. etc.

and now finals are fast approaching. i need to figure out where i'm living this summer. I talked with the morrison fisser guy. looks like I could get that internship in tokyo. but it's a pretty shitty paying one. like, not even minimum wage shitty. and they don't pay for housing. I need advice. you know that that means. Quick! to the mom phone!

Ok, so I read the new drift for Sakura and Snow. Wow. whew. had to spend some time in the shower for that one. it kinda dragged at the end, but DAMN what a drag.

today, i got my mid-term back. let's just say that I passed. barely. I TOTALLY fucked up. I dont know what happened to my kanji, cause I studied for three days for it but i still managed to almost flunk that section. damn.

suffice to say that it's not been the best day. not much sleep. presentation today. got my mid-term back. got left out again from Ben's outting (LotR). low on money. fucking dog's barking. I've a mid-term and a 12 page paper to do this weekend. so no going out for me. this bites. Shut up, dog! fuck.

I've degraded. ok. I know and you know that I enjoy reading about two boys falling in love, relationships, kissing, yadda yadda yadda, right? It's a well established fact. Well, now I find I'm reading FMA slash and I don't even like it; I can't see it in the show. I can't see Roy and Ed going off somewhere and boinking. I think Hayes is addorable with his wife and daughter. There's not even the attractive evil vilin to pair up against anyone. So why am I readying Roy/Ed? Cause I'm in a rut. Someone point me to some GOOD fanfition! and quick!

Aside from that, I was wondering this just the other day, then Leareth poised just the same question. Where did I get her from? I usually am good at remembering sources and links in the fandom community and it's bothering me that I don't remember how I ran across her. Was she a YnH bud? I don't think so. Perhaps linked to Sakura and Snow's author Firecat (WHO FINALLY UPDATED SAKURA AND SNOW! THANK YOU!). Or through tv.aphixia? I'd ask Skuld, my fandom bud from way back, but I recced Leareth to her, and Val's not in this fandom. Anyone else out there know?

life here is life. I had my oral section of my mid-term. you know you're not doing well when the teacher starts slowing down her speach patterns for you. ::wilts:: damn. stupid kikitori. Sometimes I get so frustrated with Japanese it kills me. Fucking listening. the only thing I'm decent at is writing. Then I can take my time, and write around the speach and grammer that I dont' know. When I'm listening to someone, they use full-fledged all out causual grammer and shit I dont know. ::kick Japanese:: why couldn't by obsession be Latin based?!

I had ment to have a new layout up now, but i got distracted by computer games all day. and I mean all day.

Kyo, we watched this cute movie in japanese class called the twilight samurai. a little romance in the dieing age of the samurai. I fell in love with the main character. he was so down to earth. kinda dirty, but down to earth.

and then we had a 5 hour long arcitecture field trip. we have these every other week. it's killing us. mostly cause we have to walk around in a drafty japanese temple or tea house for four hours with only our socks on. It's the middle of Feburary! It's coooool.

damn you Jeanine for getting me hooked on FMA. Though I got her started on One Piece. We fully plan to be there opening night to the next movie. oooh yeah fangirls! and our final project will be interviewing japanese girls about yaoi. good times in nihongo.

I loooove my boyfriend. The boy sent me (via Rosy and Dave) roses and candy. He sent the package to a friend at Stanford and then had it sent to Rosy so that I wouldn't see a package from Boston to Rosy and get suspicious. how cool is that?! Thank you all of you guys. :o* Also, on other v-day notes, Dave dressed up as a giant bunny to present Rosy with flowers and a present. it was awesome walking to Heian jingu with him to get soft cream.

That was Friday the 13th. Dun dun duuuuun. the day that I had TWO mid-terms. Nihongo and bungaku. not pretty. i fucked up both. way to go me.

and that's why ive not been around the internet. midterms and a paper and hw and quizes all in one week shot me in the head. bleah. but its over and Im free!... expcept for that 12 page paper due tomorrow. meh.

so, friday was catch a nap then drink heavily night at @bar. crashed at rosie's. next day up with a BLEAH hangover to get to a joint session of D&D. Im a male Ranger from the Ambou bloodline that has a horse and a bow. And I have flowers in my hair. and i'm very gay. But still a rough and tough ranger.... with flowers in his hair. ^^ after D&D it was to John's for his Bday dinner wtih his family. They're awesome people with a HUGE house. I still need to get him is bday gift... and Dave his Xmas gift. oops.

today is lounge around the house and read and play vidgames. its unwind time for ashley.

[major major rant.]

uh, yeah. about this update thing...

gomen any and all who actually read this, i can think of 4 people, for the lack luster updating. just not inclined to. updating now is kinda like christianity. followed with guilt. ok, i dont mean that about christianity, but its true for some.

I was following a wonderful discussion on Jade's mailing list the other day. note my sarcasim that you cant read. the ml spent several days going over the different meanings of cum and come. while not a bad choice to begin with, i cringe at the face that over half of the ml is under 13. tsk. i wasnt even thinking about penises then, much less philosophing on them. makes me feel an old 20. and also realize that ive been in the fan buiness for... over 7 years now.

Matt Chan and I had a nice catch up discussion. it was awesome. id almost forgotten that we had first meet at orientation and we split a chicken pita the first night. then later on we bumped into each other on the Hojos roof. i really feel like im drifting away from my boston crew, and it hurts. i tried talking with phil and got nothing but one word answers out of him. i just have no chance to talk with them, different hours and all that. and as alex can attest to, im a sucky emailer. ::sighs:: only to remind me that i need to email Wei. Sorry wei! even though you arnt one of the 4 who read this.

mope mope mope. boo spelling. i had a long chat with my mom. trying to break the news to her that i want to stay here over the summer. she was a bit upset. naturally she wants me to come home for the summer, but im here, and there are not many oppertunities to intern with a japanese company in the US. if im here, i should make use of oppertunities. I think a lot stems from the fact that i hate to feel left behind. I was always the go out and do her own thing gal. I went to a new high school. i went to a far away college. i went to japan. lots of people are staying here over the summer and not only do i feel like id be missing an awesome carrier oppertunity, and a last chance to hang out with my KCJS buds, and with skuld in japan, but also i feel like im missing a great chance that everyone else is seasing. and of course there's the money issue. how am i going to support myself. mom made it clear it would be out of my own pocket. and how am i going to pay for law school, if i even want to go to law school anymore. and what about LSATs and how am i going to fit the JET program in?

and lets not forget that ive a very long and deep relationsthip waiting for me in boston. mom told me she an i think very differently. i think she'd put more importance on the relationship. not that it isnt super imporant, but i cant stop my life for it. as shown in my actions when i came here for a year. i had many disscussions with friends, KCJSers, and my mom over the summer about whether to stick with alex, and i got so many varying answers and advice. But I think the best came from my mom when she said that if we're ment to be together then it would work out.

in the end my mom was less than enthusiastic about me staying in Japan for the summer. its really put me in a funk. thinking about the future and what not. questioning myself. i guess i just didnt realize how important my moms opinion is to me. i still see myself as increadibly independent, but when my mom, who's always supported my actions showed doubt, it really shook me up. Partially, i think she just needs to get used to one of her kids really growing up and moving out, but i really hope she comes around.

phew! ah, catharsis. on a lighter note, yesterday i ate a huge orange as big as my head, bigger even! seriously, this thing was a mutant japanese orange. stayed at the center yesterday cause ive a paper due tuesday. and two midterms thursday. OY! Mira-sensei never learns.

and i never even mentioned my trip to hiroshima. missed the shinkansen, at okonomiyaki, went to the butt-ass-depressing atomic bomb museum, when to some island with an ocean tori gate, stayed at a ryokan, two onsen bathes with the girls, got drunk, played stip poker, naked nannagins, bought a ooki oogi (a wall fan), went to Okayama castle with rosy, dave, john, jeanine, and denmen, on to himeiji castle where we rushed the gates and spelled YATTA! afterwards, then home for homework. that was our trip. the past week has been spent catching up in liturature reading and building D&D characters. that's right, Ashley has moved on to D&D. it was bound to happen sometime. we're playing hte oriental adventures. ::snickers:: look at me! proud wandering ranger of the Amubo bloodline. dododo DOOOO!

so i havn:t updated in a while, i know. i went to tokyo anime expo. and that was good times. but i thought an update was worthy of being hit by a car while riding my bike. i'm ok! don't you freak then ask if i was wearning a helmet. I wasn't. but Im ok. I was going down a hill when this car took a left onto a crossing street. he hit the breaks, me too. i bounced off him as he hit me. a few bruises and a broken bike, but im cool. just a waky time here in japan.

after an intense matrix discussion, we've come up with a better solution to the movie, but it still sucked.

i'm here at home and i'm really pissed because i havn't been able to access my email for over a week. some dickhead sent me a spam with a long subject full of japanese or chinese characters and it crashes my email server everytime i try to access my inbox. FUCK!

but it's flurring, so that makes me feel better. really nothing better to do today but play video games, read manga, and take a niiiiice long bath. I've the house to myself today, which im glad for. I love begingings of semesters. much much more mellow than the rest of the semester.

Friday was @bar and good times. saw my mom off. still havnt updated her trip. she seemed to have a good time, and she pretty much saw all the highlights here in kyoto. my hostparents and I were impressed with the amount of walking they did. i really was amazing. my tousan said no wonder im so tough to bike that mountain everyday, look at my mom.

after the matrix rant is some solid quality updating and news. i swear.

ok,�@so the last Matrix movie SUCKED MY GREAT AUNT'S BALLS. My LORD was that movie bad. horrible plot. way too obvious annologies. cliquees out the wazoo, and don't even get me started on the acting. hoooo boy, the acting.

So what? the machines just suddenly decide to commit volentary suicide by giving up their power-source? cause if im not mistaken, that was the main reason the they were fighting. it would stand to reason though that in the hundreds of years of wars that they would've developed an alternative power-source.

and they never explained the smith dying thing. just too many ifs and HUH?'s in the movie. geahd, not worth the i dropped on it. but let me tell you what is: the new One Piece movie that is coming out. gonna go see that. :oP skuld. I looks awesome! cool fight scenes with all our favorite pirates. Im not up to date with the series, but you generally dont have to be for anime movies. I need to do a rant on the Last Samurai, but probibly wont get around to it.

SO yeah. Im going to Anime Expo: Tokyo! OOOOOOO-yeah, japanese anime conventions. and I didnt bring my Haku-outfit! and i dont think i have anytime to make a new one. QUICK! people help me think up a costume that i can make in a week! cheap is good too.

and I am now hopelessly addicted to FF:tactics advance. I was playing it on the way to school with my lap top and my book bag and a trash bag. i hurt my back playing video games. what a dork!

Well, thatll teach me not to jinx myself. I totally fucked up my oral.
we had two parts. we were to pick situations from an envolope, and use them in the situations. I had the diologues memorized and the parts understood, but I totally put the wrong situation with the wrong diologue. halfway through, sensei was like: huh? and i was like FUCK. ok. no crying in front of sensei, i get flustered during oral tests. I knew Hotta sensei would be kind and let me redo it, shes always always kind. but i was still pissed at myself. boo me!

I saw a pregnent woman for the first time in japan today. I dont mean that i meet her, just that i saw one. tells you something about japan's birthrate. that's right. it's NOTHING.

and im very bothered by sephiroth's nose in the movie. playing the game, in the CG, yes he has a sharper nose. but as Rosy put it well: "Sephiroth's supposed to be hot enought to melt the panties off a nun at 50 meters". today was a day. had my baito. tomorrow is my noh presentation and my nihongo jousei no fashion happio. itll be interesting. the nihongo ive kinda memorized, ill do more of that once i get off of here. and the Noh presentation is kinda all winging it. ill run through it once tonight, and again tomorrow morning, but theres really not much to plan. its just a tutorial on how to carve a noh mask. and some theries behind it. ::shrugs::

must remember the flowers for Ojozusama tomorrow. and to check on those hotels. and to look for my plane tickets. and to ask people what they charge their english students.

OH! and i found the best place EVER. its across from rosy's and my favorite hangover food shot. I got in my mask-sensei's pants!
so last night was the best noh mask class ever. i biked there for a half an hour in the poring rain. showed up soaking wet. carved for an hour shivering. then my sensei's wife gave me a pair of sensei's un-hemmed pants to wear (he's about 5'4 and the pants were long on me). it was awesome. so for the rest of the night i was sitting around in sensei's pants. hot shit.

Im really starting to enjoy my hostfamily. i mean they've always been polite and kind. but now i think that weve been around each other enought that we can start to joke around and tease each other. I had a really enjoyable day with them Monday.

now, doing a bunraku review, a kanji test at lunch, and another quiz hopefully at lunch.

as i type, we're watching tLotR:TT extended version. 4 hours of tLotR goodness. only problem is that i'm not drunk. the first movie, whenever i watched the extended version, i was either drunk, or getting there. yay tLotR drinking games!
I absolutely love the Boromir/Faramir scene. It sooo makes Boromir's actions, and some of Faramir's�@actions/visions, make sense. and of course there was some more comic relief scenes, which i enjoy cause it makes the characters more human... or elf... or drawf. you know what I mean. also, Gandolf came off a whole bunch less mysterious just cause last time he had so few lines to so many miraculaous magic-type things. In the movie version he was a bit more god-like. and in the extended edition he smiles and explains things to Aragorn. more human once again. ah, dorky rants.

and i got to see the matrix before anyone in the states. XP what with the international dateline thing and all... that is if i had actually gone and seen it. still havnt. waiting till after school stops raping me. speaking of raping me, upcoming week is DEATH week. no emails. no calls. no blog entries... ok, a few of all of those, but be warned, i'll be scarce.

oh yeah. and a chotto byouki. nothing some sleep wont cure. I called my english teaching person today. she's so abrupt on the phone. sheesh. anyway, i wasnt sure if i was teaching them today, the nijyuu ichi, or next kinyoubi, the nijyuu hatachi. so i felt stupid cause i had to call her in japanese and say essentially: yeah, im your teacher, but im too irrisponsible to remember what day im teaching you. turns out its next week the same day as the thanksgiving day dinner. yar.

this morning was death. I woke up, took the train home, puked, jumped on my bike and went to mask class.

so last night was fun, as you can see from the morning after. had to go to a Noh play. 11-5. Sarugaku and Tenko. apparently the play inbetween that we skipped featered my mask sensei as the ai-kyougen. ::pouts:: and i missed it. anyway. went strait to taiko for our last lesson. rosie and i were going to ask taiko-sensei out for drinks afterward, but he had a class. its probibly as well seeing as how we dont even know the mans name.

finally found melissah, the creater of Noh DDR. and went and drank. a lot. at a bar. rob dave and john showed up. moved onto another bar. then we all crashed at robs place. my third foursome since coming to japan!

friday was a nice dinner at BigMac's. Christina mad a wonderful spread. sooooo goood. fine food and fine wine made ashley sleepy. there til 11 or so.

um, yesterday was another mask class. its going slow. the guy next to me is carving the same mask and its almost done. but he says that its the 4th month of working on it. also chatted with one of the ladies ill be teaching. i start next friday. this friday is dinner at BigMac's house. talking politics with the sensei oooh yeah.

Yesterday I was rockin' up the Osaka International Japan Immigration Immposium. With those cool simotanious traslator headsets and everything. BigMac was helping put together this imposium and invited our politics class to it. there was a whole panel of experts from Japan, Germany, France, and Canada. oh yeah. and America. very omoshiroi. the lawyer who represents korean workers in japan was the most passionate. the most interesting was the one japanese government worker who thought that Japan should go the "small japan" route, and let the smaller birth rate happen. since japan is in its matured state, one should just let the population level off rather than overcrowd and whittle down the land with more people. of course this would stagnate the economy and would slow down progress in all feilds, but hey! according to him, japan was good where it was. let the world move on without japan.

Today was my first Noh mask making class. it was cool! i sat in a room with 10 old people in silence and worked my art. it really was heaven. I shouldve gone to art school. tsk. because i wore my kimono today over my jeans i had to take it off cause one can hardly carve with long sleves on. well, i was wearing my low loose cut tank top on underneith. and i was leaning over carving the entire class. I gave everyone a free show! gee, i wonder why the guys across the room were working slower than the ones to my right and left? hmmm.... but really. it rocked. carved out the basic mask shape today. going back tomorrow. good thing it's really close.

and I'm taking up an english teaching job. this'll be interesting cause i dont speak japanese well, and my english is american english, which means we don't know WHY we say the shit we do, we just say what sounds right. and I can't tell japanese housewives that. but the job was really close to my house, so i took it up.

every time i go to honky tonk, i have a good time. last n ight was good times too. my soccer game was cancelled (bummer) on an account that one of our players went to the hospital. so i was fully free to enjoy a nice night at the japanese cowboy bar. gabe, rosy, dave, rob, marisa, and hilary were there. I was gabe's tanjoubi and the band, Dallas, bought us a bottle of champain. I lost my glasses in an enthousiastic electric slide, and i got to dance with a 14 year old boy. poor guy didn:t know where to put his hands. and he watched his feet the entire time. on the train ride home us four girls got to chat with some Nova teachers from england.

and today is rainy and all i want to do it cuddle up with a book on my bed and read.... but homework beccons. perhaps i could read school work. there's a novel idea.

here's a long one cause my weekend both sucked and rocked.

started off on friday. friday rocked. we took a field trip to an old old japanese style house. we got to see an awesome house and have tea with friends instead of going to class. then a group of us went shopping and eating. i got a HOT yaoi manga. must be one of my favs up to date. good stuff. went home. slept. played in the shower. went to a Kodo taiko preformance. that fucking rocked. omg. they looked like they were having so much fun up there on stage. taiko men are ripped. our taiko sensei was in the audience too. then on to Abar to drink. a lot. and to play Never Have I Ever with japanese people. that was interesting. closed down the bar. went to club Isn't it. danced a lot. closed that down. had food til 5. woke up Richard at 6 to crash there. which I feel aweful for now. then at 8am wake up to catch a train to Osaka.

the trip to osaka was interesting. but I got horribly sick on the train ride down. hot, rocking trains are NOT good for stilldrunken hangovers. spent half of osaka trying not to be sick on the ground infront of Tmac. saw the braku community here. saw a korean market in osaka, the human rights musium, and the day laboror's section. the day labobor's section was most impressive. surounded on 3 sides by raised train tracks. many not rich people. all single older men.

then on a train strait to taiko class. rosy was in a similar state of stillhungoverness. we went out to eat afterward. went home. slept.

next morning was the community gathering with my host mom and dad. it was good times. I participated in relay races for my neighborhood. bonded with a little girl. i've pics. though i look like shit, so y'all won't ever see them. got majorly sick that night, so I didn't get any of the big amount of work that I had to do done.

the next day I stayed home from school. felt really shitty. really really shitty. so i slept. did a bunch of work that evening. my dad said it was probibly an ulcur. that's JUST what I fucking need. but yeah. behind now in work. got shit to do. I need 0 to do my final project for Noh/Kyogen class. ug, more money.

so today was today. i've got so much work to do. i don't wanna do it.
