Anyways, our band director is a dickhead. I went this morning and I heard that the flag line had to relearn ALL of the drill for first and second movement, because they were "too compact." That's 54 pages. Which totally sucks for them because they already relearned it, so this is like their third time doing it. I saw Mark on his way from the field and I asked him about it. He said he was overstressing and he was about to quit because it was just too much. It may have been just something he said in the moment, but I panicked because I did not want Mark to quit. I saw the band director and asked him why he changed everything for the flag line. He said something about one of the judges saying that they were too close together, and I told him that it's putting a lot of stress on Mark, because he already changed it. Then I asked him if we even had time to do this, and he said: "You're a weapon. This doesn't concern you, so why do you care?" There was this stupid wench standing next to him who later told Mark that I "verbally attacked" him and the band director threatened to drop me off the team if I continued to give him attitude. By this time, I was pissed as hell and yelled "I was /trying/ to be civil to you. I did not try to give you any attitude." and the like until Ingrid dragged me away. So we just stood off on the side, crying and pissed off as hell. Natalie later got reprimanded because she tried to tell him that we weren't trying to 'attack him' and he must have taken that the wrong way because this other guy said: "you shouldn't talk to your band director that way!" I have nothing better to do so I will continue to complain about the injustice of the competition last Saturday. Got to talk to Mark last night and he told us that we got docked on uniforms and props. Apparently the circuit that Rubidoux is in is all about show-y crap, a la sparkles and Big Things™ scattered across the field. Since the wench making our uniforms wasn't finished, we wore all black, which did shit for our general effect score. One of the schools had a dance team in their show. Mark also said that WBA (the circuit we're going to be in next week) is about spinning, and not the props you carry onto the field. We were the only guard at that competition that tossed fives. All the other guards were "angle left, angle right, spin spin spin JUMP!" Yet we placed FOURTH out of FOUR schools. Third place was one point above us, second was .2 above third, first was 2 points higher than us, I think. We're not getting our uniforms until next Wednesday... and we have a football game this Friday so we'll be performing SANS UNIFORMS, AGAIN.

Agh. I fucked up my finger Saturday morning, so it was swollen and bruised the entire day. I still performed that night and did a DAMN GOOD JOB. Caught my five, all of my other tosses (though the one I'm supposed to catch on my knees was upside down. Doesn't matter, I caught it, DAMMIT! >3) The work with the 10 foot flags with the 13 foot silks (those are huge .__.) was gorgeous. The part I could see, anyways. I watched a bit of the show before us, and a bit of the one after us. Their work was slow, boring, and cheesy. (spin spin angle angle carving pattern LOOK AT ME SPPPIIIINNNN) Which is why we were all surprised as hell that we didn't even place. Band took second. Drumline took sweeps. Mr. Trost, our band director, (the announcer called him Mr. Trout XD) kept raving about how proud he was about the band and the drumline, paused, then LEFT. Bastard.
Anyways, I was told that the winner won because well.. they win every time. The circuit we were in (Not WBA, we start WBA next competition. This one has a shitload of letters that I cannot be arsed to remember) I also heard that one of the judges was a band director for something, which is stupid because you're biased that way. Plus, he didn't score us high because he wasn't used to anything with a tempo higher than TWO and he didn't know what the fuck he was judging. I guess we move too fast for him. :3 What I don't understand is that the band did pretty shitty. They even admitted that they fucked up in the music and the visual stuff, and they STILL took second. We were the only guard in all black, because that stupid wench decided to move house right before our first competition, so she didn't have time to work on our uniforms.
My finger is still a nasty purple color. It was twice as nasty and purple last night. At least it's not throbbing anymore. My sister has no faith in me. I can still type!! It just... feels a bit odd, but I got used to it. >F

Woke up today in a state of vertigo. The slightest movement would send the world spinning and I vomiting seemed like the right thing to do. Nice way to start off the weekend.
This week has been. So. Draining. My algebra teacher was just...causing all students undue amounts of stress. I also had to work with my USELESS partners for the Japanese project - a travel brochure. Since the day we got the assignment, they accomplished little. While I diligently took notes on the sand dunes of Tottori and Hiroshima's Peace Park, they talked. We weren't going anywhere so I decided to divide up the work by making everyone work on two prefectures while I worked on one, just because I had already done most of their stuff. One of them [WeezerFan of bio project last year] got information on the wrong region. Twice.

And when we finally got around to writing the brochure, EVERYTHING they "wrote" was just copying and pasting information off of the internet. Some weren't even whole sentences! I wound up re-writing most everything, creating the cover image, printing everything but the cover and assembling the brochure. I was going to publicly humiliate them when it came to presentation by making them answer all the questions, but nothing doing. I still need to tell Suzuki that I did all of the work. Anyways, the project took up a lot of my time and I didn't get to study enough for psychology quizzes. Failed one and barely squeezed by with a C on the other, which brought my overall grade down from a 96% to a low B.
Enough about academics. My grandma came back from the Phillipines this week. She's already settled in with her usual clutter on every surface in the house and I'm back to sleeping in my sister's room with dirty clothes pile and separate junk pile.

I HATE LA MIRADA. I hate the way they plan their stupid xc meets. #1: They don't tell the other team the course ahead of time. #2: Due to that, we can't run in front of them otherwise we'll get lost. #3: There were TWO races going on at the same time and the other people from the other race were wearing the same color as La Mirada. I almost got lost. BUNCH OF CRAP!!! We did SO BAD. I came in first out of all the Cerritos girls (that never happens) and I was SICK. Everyone else was sick, or had some type of injury. One of our girls didn't even make it past the first mile when she started to limp really horribly. The course wasn't 3 miles either. It was .1 mile extra. Also, since we didn't know the course, we didn't know when to speed up, so we all went really slow the whole time -_-. I can't believe they do this EVERYYEAR and they always get away with it.
Now onto the subject of people boycotting the school lunches...
1. There's no point in complaining to the lunch workers. They don't set the goddamn prices.
2. It's not like complaining to the lunch ladies is going to do anything either--the DISTRICT is behind all this -_-.
3. by working in the speedlines doesn't mean we support the high prices. stupid assumption-making bastards.
4. If only a few people at our school boycott, nothing's going to happen. This is all the DISTRICT's doing, not the school's.
5. Sneaking food to other people isn't called boycotting.
6. Boycotting lunches isn't really going to do much--go write a letter to the district or something. It's not like the district comes to the school every now and then and says, "My! There was another lame fight today. I had a good view - it happened five feet away from me. All I saw was some Mexican guy putting his shirt back on and a black guy crying whilst they were taken to the office. There've been fights every day this week! Yesterday, there was some kind of battle between blacks and Mexicans and they were throwing foodstuffs/bottled drinks at each other. There were rumors about someone having a gun or something, but I highly doubt that. A bunch of staff members I've never seen came out to prevent a potential riot and everyone had to leave campus immediately after school.
