I've just finished playing the adventure game Dreamfall, the longest journey It wasn't all peaches, the overal game wasn't perfect. But the story, Oh the story! It was one heck of a journey, an emotional one at that. I must also praise their use of music, both instrumental aswell as the use of songs. It blended in perfectly.

Went to the Chronicles of Narnia today, I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. Really lovely soundtrack too! Ah I do love fantasy movies, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy -and younger somehow.

I've been thinking about New years resolutions and I thought up a few, mostly to do with my health, both of mind and body. I want to be healthier, have more energy. Live is only so short. I shouldn't sit around and do nothing while I could do something usefull and/or fun. I even promised to go to the park and do some old fashioned jogging. I hope that won't result in a complete embarrassing failure. Either way I should view it as a win-win situation, because it means I have tried. I won't be giving up either!

Other resolutions include doing more with afterhorizon.com. Let's see if I can make something that will be usefull to people that are not me ;)

Where do I start? At the middle I suppose. As some of you may not know, I'm following the study Art and Technology. I can't say I'm really happy with this study. Esspecially not since my marks have been inadequate in a number of occasions (All having to do with not finishing certain subjects) Things were just heaping and clogging up. I couldn't (and still hardly can) see where one project started and another one ended. On top of that my financial status wasn't helping at all. I'm currently in the 3rd year of this 4 year study. And still subjects from 1st and 2nd year are haunting me. Pesky little ghosts whining while i'm trying to sleep here! I finally lost it gave in and sought some in-school help and landed in the lap of the school psychologist.

Which leaves me at this point, trying to make things in order once more and actually being at college every single day into eternity! (okay..not eternity, but long enough)

Who would have ever thought that the Korean RPG Magna Carta Would come to the PS2? (I should have paid more attention to E3 2005) Who can resist those character designs? Okay, so most of the girls are gravity defying big breasted and scantily clad to boot! But there seem to be cute guys, so I can live with it.

In other old news Poor guy, I heard he's now having a fruitfull career in acting.

Not everything went as we (staff) planned it. There were a few third parties who did not make my day (er..weeekend) Yes, I mean you, catering service, you lying arses! Sukiyaki is not made with chicken.

Today I did something new.

I went to the gym. Yes! The gym. That place people use when they (try) to get in shape, lose those few extra pounds or basically make a fool out of themselves. Little did I know what would await me beyond the doors of the giant building. Upon entering I was struck by the masses of people lounging ( lounging?!) on couches. 'Hey', I thought. 'This can't be that bad!' Meanwhile, my friend (who convinced me of the whole healthy gym stuff) asked me if I wanted to try the BBB lessons. "BBB?" I asked. "Yes! It's short for bottom, tummy (buik) and legs (benen). I said okay...

I shouldn't have. We followed the masses of women that streamed towards the correct room. A lady (let's call her LL the Lesson-Lady) stood on a raised platform. Loud music was pumping cringe through the stereo.
LL: "Okay ladies! Welcome to the lesson! We are going all out today, so make sure that those waterbottles are filled, yeaaaah!" At that point the only thing I could think about was that I had no waterbottle at all and that one of my fellow BBB practitioners had very tight pants. Very tight.
LL: "Alright everyone let's get started! First, we're going to sidestep, move those arms, make a fist! Keep on making that fist!"
Okay, yeah, I can do this! Oh I rock, I'm so good!
The lesson-lady moved on.
LL: "Just getting started people, now move your knees forward and your hips back step forward and grapefruit!"
"What?! GRAPEFRUIT?"
"No," My friend whispered, "Grapevine!"
"Ow...grapevine, yes. So what does that mean?"
LL: "Okay people pay attention! Keep those arms moving and up and knees to the left and move yourarmstothesideandbackandfrontandgrapefruit!"
At this point things started to get blurry, all I could really follow was my *own* distant reflection in the mirror. Standing there quite lost among all the moving women (the blurry part happened due to my nerves, nerves make me cry)
I turned to my friend and made it clear I wanted to get out of this hellho.. I mean place. We were in and out of the building in less then 15 minutes. The first and last time I will ever visit a gym. In the end we bought Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey and watched a movie.

Hey due to nerves I must have lost 3 pounds! Well whatever...

...gyms suck! Flaunt those booties ladies!

This news slightly scares me, all the possibilties! I'm having visions of a world with only happy, chipper people.

Uhm, yes. We take these ingredients:

- 1 keyboard controller
- 1 trusty softhsynth program
- 2 vst plugins
- watch too much anime

We mix all the ingredients together, add some minor cursing and put it in the oven to bake for 30 min at 180 celcius.

Presto! We end up with a slightly overbaked mp3

Okay I admit, World of Warcraft has been eating up precious time. But I'm enjoying it so far. I am starting to notice that late night gaming isn't really healthy for your state of mind or body (no kidding co). The game I'm actually waiting for is (as always) Dreamfall, the longest journey. I loved the first longest journey, and this new installment is starting to look pretty good! Check out the trailer on the site :) *sighs happilly*

Schoolyear is ending, but it seems I am nowhere near finished, so many loose ends to tie up! The Abunai! convention is coming closer too and there's still so much work that needs to be done.

Adventures of a 'collector'

Every year I get called by the 'Radio Foundation for the sick and eldery'. Every year I say yes, though I immensely loath going around at people's door with a list asking for money. And so today I will be doing just that. I wonder how many people will pretend not to be home, I wonder how many people will look at me with disdain while they shut the door before I've finished talking. I only need your small change people! Just a little bit! I'm not going to rob you of your firstborn!

It seems like good things and bad things often go hand in hand.

Good thing is, An and me found another house, more info at (dutch) Fear it Okay so it isn't all shiny and new, it shows signs of a lot of living. There may even be signs of other things that have lived there that are neither human nor animal. But it's cute and when we can scrape the money together to buy the stuff we need it'll be 'gezellig' (cozy) too!

Poor Frodo the rat died, he was getting old, he wouldn't even bite me anymore (a persistant habit). His last meal a giant cheese slice and a marshmellow. I just came from college and checking up on him, he looked like he had just fallen asleep. I hope he had a good life.

Bad co, bad! Staying up so incredibly late last night/morning till the point of unhealthyness. And also when you have so much to do! And what *do* you do, you go make an oekaki. On a most ungodly time! *cough* I usually don't have the patience for a decent oekaki, okay I still don't have the patience for that, that's why this isn't finished, but I like what I got so far... I think ^_^; I like the nose :D Late night oekakie!

As most of you might not know ;) I have a (second/achter) cousin (one of many on my fathers side) who is a Michael Jackson look-a-like. Imagine my suprise when I heard he was on tv on 'Man bijt hond' For those curious You can see the particular program here. It's the first one from the top, maandag (monday). This is incredibly weird you know ^_^ I usually tell 'the story of my Michael Jackson cousin' to my friends as a joke. *cough*

Little update from me, since my head is pounding like someone is trying to sound a churchbell inside. I've been a little-sick since friday, just your regular cold; and sick since sunday which (among things)involved headaches and a fever. Fever has come down since then, yay for that, but I still feel woozy and weirdly weak. I hope I'll be 'online co' by thursday or friday.

In a spur of the moment I made a crossover rec log, called (very creative co ;) - crossover rec - I guess it is my own answer to late night drowning in bad fic. If it takes you more time to find good fic then it takes you to read it, there must be something wrong. I doubt my log will appeal to everyone, so I will also use it as my own I-read-this-fic-and-I-liked-it log. So I won't forget the good stuff that is out there.

Well, as most of you have noticed 2005 is coming closer by the second ;) A lot of terrible things have happened (and are still happening) during the past year. Most of them had (fortunately) nothing to do with me. I have no new year resolutions. Not because I think all has been going fine so far, but because I've been feeling a bit like doing nothing at all. Esspecially since I have so much to do already! More important is how I get trough old year-new year thing. Should I stay here with my mom. Having a dull and almost painfull change of years. (she's whining already -_-; )Just her and me being bored. Or should I go to my Dad, where family is and the good food. Where people are smiling and welcoming. The answer seems so simple. But it is complicated. I could break it down to this: Do I choose me or my mom? I've always chosen my mom, I don't want to make her feel alone or left. But then again, what would she choose?

Merry Christmas dear fellow humans :) I just managed to put up the (small) christmas tree, yeah it's late but It'll probably stay there till march or something ;) I'm now coughing and itching because I'm allergic to the damn thing, but it's so shiney and 'gezellig'.

Chances of moving out of Almelo are rising! (animecon-sleepovers will not be in danger ;) For the dutchies Fearit! But it has pictures for the non dutchies soo... It's a report of our search of a house and later it'll be showing our 'struggles' trying to cope with daily life and how to (not) dip teabags in the tea. Whether An or me makes a mess of it. And whether we actually get the house to do that house warming party. For all we know it could be held together with bricks and saliva XD

I want to see Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle. I really want to see it! No, I desperatly want to see it! I guess I'll have to settle for House of flying Daggers for now. It may not be much story wise (So I've been told) but it has Takeshi Kaneshiro (hot stuff ;) wrapped up in a pretty colourful movie package. I can't say no to that! Since I'm on the topic of colourful. How about the Live Action Cutie Honey movie. Hello Bright Colors! This movie can be nothing other then cheesy, I must see it! Look at that outfit ^_^

I'm sick, I don't think it's the flu since I got my (anti) flu shot. It's more resembling a bad case of the common cold. I'm making piles of used tissue's the size of mount doom. And my head hurts because of the pressure of evil snot. I'm gonna dive back into bed. Don't want to dribble over my keyboard ^_^;

Just came back from a great long weekend which involved Damaparty-ing and a nice relaxing stay at my dad. Have a very sore throat and an itchy nose now but this can't diminish the good time I had!

Abunai convention is over. I had a great time! Even though I was a lot more stressed out then at the one last year (it's the whole being in cosplay-jury thing I think). The visitors were great and it kinda felt like we were all a big family. An helped out a lot with her mad gophering skills and Kees joined us saturday. I could go on and karaoke forever! Singing the Fruits Basket intro song with Kageki was great. Really we both have no shame whatsoever ;)

I'm happy and sad it's over.

My mom is sick and I'm in a paranoid state of mind! Washing my hands more. Not letting her enter my room, not entering her room. Holding my breath when I open the bedroom door to quikly shove bread into her hands. Cringing when she coughs... I don't want to be sick, I haven't had my flu shot yet. In other news, college has decided to take a turn for the multi-purpose technical (media) Arts. I'm not sure if I'm happy with that. Even more programming, object orientated design and all that stuff. Where did the art go? Give me audio ;_; They want us to be multifunctional now. I want to specialize dammit! This means a lot of studying, I can't even subtract properly and logic is a mystery!

Planning to move out and I'm really happy because of it. My mom used to want me out of the house but now (a 180 degrees turn from yesterday) she's screaming that I'm leaving her and that everybody is leaving her and so on and so on. Just for a while longer, then I won't have to deal with her wicked emotional outbursts any longer. I'll finally be able to lead my own life. I'll be doing dishes for other reasons then to ease her coming home from work. I'll be vacuuming for other reasons then because it's thursday and that's always a bad day considering her job. I'll be cleaning my room for other reasons then out of panick because it'll be another thing for her to scream at. I won't have to shut my ears for her constant crying. And won't have to listen to her just now smashing another cup. Free! Free at last.

I've been on a fanfic raid, trying to pick out the good from the bad. Where did all the good stuff go? (besides the stuff I've already read). There must be some stuff left in the fandoms I enjoy. I guess the solution lies in fanfic recommendations. Could start one of them myself, atleast it's a whole lot more productive then those 'fanlistings' *brrr* Those are really starting to annoy me, as if google isn't cluttered up enough. I want content! Not lists of people! If I wasn't against fanlisting I'd start an anti-fanlist fanlist. 490,000 fanlistings are way too much! *ends the rant*

It's a bit more Gladiator then some of you thought ;) While listening to a couple of soundtracks something seemed familiar, very familiar, it tends to happen. To see if I wasn't imagening things I did a tiny little bit of mixing. The scary part is that I didn't need to do a lot of mixing to get this to work, a toddler could have done this.

Here's the story: The original chosen composer was Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Contact, Van Helsing) and the Producer (Noo Jerry noooo! *twack*) fired the guy. Seems that Bruckheimer wanted a Hans Zimmer(y) score instead. But Hans Zimmer being the busy bee that he is had no time, so Klaus Badelt "second-in-command" got the job. Now Klaus Badelt and companions must have spend a lot of time listening to Zimmer's cd's... The most of the stealwork being done in movie scores is composers 'stealing' from themselves (James Horner does it a lot..compare 'A Beautiful mind' with 'Bicentennial Man' and so on...) So technically it's not stealing, call it re-using then. But it's a bit nagging to sit in the cinema and hear a certain theme and then your mind travels to whole other movie. Yeah, the theme is good just the same, but it was supposed to be the cream on the -other- cake! We can't be out of total originality yet! In the end it just leaves me wondering what Alan Silvestri had done with the soundtrack...

Never thought I'd finish reading a Harry Potter crossover fanfic, I'm not that familiar with the whole universe. Since I don't really like the books *avoids the tomatoes*. With books I'm more of a sci-fi nut. Also the first two movies, no not my thing. But since I saw the last movie and I got some jumbled up random facts ánd the writer had written some pretty good stories involving other series ánd it happened to be a sequel I jumped into the pool.

Just made a few icons that go well with my newish Nightmare before Christmas layout. Have to make more icons..promises and all that :3 On a different note, witness the return of the (not so) weekly music thing ;) Only on pitas.

My neighbours have a swimming pool, not a real one, it's made out of plastic. But it's big, big enough to be jealous at. This bucket of water I'm cooling my feet in isn't really cutting it for me.

You can have fun neighbours, just don't make such loud fun. No fun involving cold water please! I can hear the joyful splashing of water. This is no good! ..No..No they are getting out the garden hose now..If it wasn't bad enough!

Well yes, I was planning on going to sleep, but you know the internet, it keeps on dragging you to sites when you shouldn't be online and (murphy's law?) you don't know where to go when there's plenty of time. Ever had one of those stare at the screen moments? When the internet just feels like your own backyard. You know, with all the weeds between the tiles and the same spot you always sit on to keep out of the shadows. Ye ol' shed with all the stuffs you used to go to but now there's just that not-so-funky black fungus on the closet. Ah I'm rambling on!

Leaving window open is not only an invitation to muskito's/musquito/muggen/bloodsucking-creatures-of-the night. But also an invitation of these tiny tiny little flies that like your monitor. I do not like them. Generally speaking I like animals, even the little ones. but these can annoy me so much, they are just 4 pixels wide and the computer screen must seem like some sort of heavenly light, but please, go away! GO AWAY! *squash* oops..
