The New York Times carried a story about the peace pins some folks, including Chris Cooper, wore at the Oscars which are now being auctioned on E-bay. He donated his to help raise money for charity. As of this post, bidding had reached $1,000.
In other news... here's an adorable bit from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette about Chris Cooper joking around in the press room following his Oscar win.
E-Online finally switched out the pic on Mr. Cooper's bio page for one that shows off his sexy million-mega watt smile. Oh yeah, they updated all of the pages related to him, as well, including additional biographical info. (He's just so damned CUTE! Sorry. I just had to. You'll understand when you see the picture.)

I feel rather behind on the site so let's start catching up! I've many links to add thoughout the day and more pics but here's the sweetest link for the day, from Mr. Cooper's hometown newspaper in Massachusetts.

Hold on to your cowboy hats, ya'll. The documentary will air on ESPN at least seven times before the July 25, 2003 premiere of the film. Read all about it in Thoroughbred Times.

The servers return
IT e-mailed me at 11:26 am CST to say the problem is fixed and the servers are a-ok again. I'll make those updates I promised on my lunch break.
Still Wednesday, 1:04 pm
Okay, lunch is over and every page is updated! The site now has a guestbook. Please sign it and say hi! I also added new links to the 'Interviews,' 'Articles,' and 'Related Links' pages. In fact, 'Related Links' now has two new categories on it. Happy surfing.
Still Wednesday, 2:23 pm
Duh at me. I forgot to mention the new photo gallery I added. I swear I'm suffering from "sometimers" today. Here's a direct link but the regular link resides on the 'Photos' front page.

This just in... you can buy the industry ads promoting Mr. Cooper's Oscar nomination at Hyena Productions. They've already sold out of one of them but there are two left to choose from. These are oversized, glossy ads with great photos!

Server Crash!
The server most of this site resides on crashed this morning. Since this news page is hosted by an outside source, as is the guestbook, they will be the only two areas available for a bit. I will update this page as soon as our IT department repairs the problem. Thank you for your patience. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Not that I really want the bidding competition but just to be nice... fans of Mr. Cooper really ought to head over to e-bay because it is chock full of awesome treats! In the last few days I've won two hard to find magazines and (so far) a couple of industry ads for his Oscar consideration. And of course, as soon as they hit my front porch, I'll put them here for your perusal. The bottom line is - get over to e-bay!

Chris Cooper featured in "Vanity Fair"
If you haven't yet seen the April issue of "Vanity Fair," it is a must. Mr. Cooper is featured in a two page spread and looks absolutely delicious. If you'd like to see a preview before dashing out to buy the glossy article, I've scanned a copy for you.
Elsewhere in the press, you can read an USA Today article that discusses Mr. Cooper's Oscar prospects. They also spoke with him for an article on Mrs. Meryl Streep. Links to all three pieces also appear on the 'Articles' page.
Friday, March 7, 2003, 09:18 a.m.
It's been too quiet lately so I've been doing some updates. There's a new pic on the filmography page, new links to more articles on "Trumbo" on the articles page, and links to the official site for "The 24 Hour Woman" and "Interstate 60" which are both Redeemable Features productions. Whew!
Also, I've a new page in mind. (Tell me what you think.) A page on the "other" Chris Coopers. There are quite a few... a U.S. football player, a physicist, a science writer, a governor's publicist. It's funny what you learn in Google searches.
I hope ya'll have an amazing weekend! Love ya'.

I've added links to two new interviews and three new articles on those respective pages (see links to the left). The article from the University of Missouri alumni magazine, @Mizzou, is full of details and accompanied by an amazing photo! Check it out.
Thursday, February 20, 2003, 03:29 p.m.
Hi again,
Welcome to more new updates. I've removed the 'Article' and 'Interviews' sections from the "Related Links" page and created stand alone pages for each. You'll find links to them in the left-hand menu bar.
Also, if you like that Entertainment Weekly link from yesterday, the Oscar double issue is on the newstands now. (I bought mine last night.) The picture on the EW Web site is a glorious full page glossy in the magazine.
Oops, I almost forgot to mention... each new page has its own pic of Mr. Cooper so check them all out. There are loads more hot pics now. *smiles* And many more to come.
Wednesday, February 19, 2003, 01:50 p.m.
Hi ya'll,
I added a recent NPR story and an interview from 1999 to the 'Related Links' page. Also, check out the pics on each of those new pages. I love that new one from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly - very artsy and very sexy. Thanks to Loree of the "chriscooper" Yahoo Group for posting the link.

Happy Valentine's Day!
My friend Michelle gave me a terrific surprise today. She scanned the January "Premiere" article for me. If you'll visit the 'Related Links' page and look under the 'Interviews' heading, you'll find a link to a full color, full page scan of the article (267 kb). It prints beautifully. Thanks again, Mich.
I hope ya'll have an awesome day and plenty of sweet things come your way.

FYI: Weekend Server Outage Planned
Hi all,
I wanted to let you know, in advance, that most of this site will be intermittently unavailable this weekend, Feb. 7-9, 2003. The news page (the page you're on now) and its archives will not be affected though because that section is hosted on a different server. I received the following e-mail from my IT department today:
Information Technology has scheduled a systems outage beginning Friday, February 7th at 5:30 pm and ending Sunday, February 9th at 11:59 pm. While we have reserved the entire weekend, systems will only be intermittently unavailable. The systems affected include: faculty, staff,
student, and departmental web pages; www.ou.edu; authentication for some library services, online payment, news and lists. We will be updating these systems to improve their availability and reliability.
We apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this outage may cause. Thank you for your time and consideration. If you have any questions,
comments or concerns, please e-mail askit@ou.edu.

Howdy, and welcome to my lunchtime updates. I've added new links to the Filmography and Related Links pages. I've *finally* finished the Biography page. I wrote an original biography for it. It bugged me that every one I read left out this or that and details are important! I hope you enjoy the updates.
Monday, February 3, 2003, 05:13 p.m.
Site updates are here! I've archived the January 2003 news. The link is below. I've added new links to the Filmography and the Related Links pages. See the left side menu to view them. I hope you like how things are growing. Please, e-mail me suggestions at chriscooperfan@indiesounds.net. I'd love to hear from fellow Chris Cooper fans.
