This is the last blog entry for the next two weeks. I'll be in preparation for the final examination session, which begins on Monday. Five examinations (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; Monday, Tuesday)...so my work is cut out for me.

I've disconnected my modem for all intents and purposes, but I'll check my e-mail every so often (probably Friday). I may be online for a very short time; if I'm on for more than 5 minutes, you can try messaging me (if one is so inclined). I'll be tempted otherwise, so better safe than sorry. Thus, if anyone has anything to say to me, e-mail is probably a better choice than message boards, blogs (go ahead and put it there though, I'll read eventually ^^;) or ICQ.

I do want to put one thing on here. My friend drew a chibi of me, which I affectionately call Wandering Biochemist Congly. It does suprisingly look an awful lot like me I think, if you knock the cuteness factor down a couple of notches ^_- As to what I actually look like, well...^_-

I'll forward all comments to the artist no da. Just e-mail me (incidently, my e-mail is down (temporarily I hope) right now ;_;.

See everyone later,

Needless to say, one should be impressed at the three entries today. What was I going to say though? Ah yes, firstly, the infamous log below was updated and corrected, so now, it is as it was...I made a comment on the entry, but I'm dubious that anyone looked at it ^_-.

Secondly, I remembered the major reason that I came up with the why men have it easier than women...it was due to an earlier trip to the spa where I was told in not unclear terms that "men just have to jump in, while women have to prepare" I think there were further comments about the timing...in that the preparations can't be done immediately before due to the Cl- (yes, I'm lazy :P) {cue Stephen's sweatdrop at this point}. S came up with another reason...the stair issue. Running down stairs is more of a bad idea if you're female...(never thought of that one, just like she said that no male ever thinks of it). Perhaps the one place men have it bad is with the condition of the washrooms (yes, I know this point can be easily argued, but I'll just leave it alone). o.o.

What else to say...can't think of anything off hand except to say that WMC and Kourin are bad bad girls ;P (i.e. I looked at the source of the pita log...)

Ooooooh >_<

I was just punching my name through the search engines for a bit, being a bit bored...and saw someone using my Princess Maker 2 FAQ without my permission. I know I'm a bit behind in giving permission out (hopefully, I'll look at the two sites that have requested it...shouldn't be a problem), but this site didn't even ask me >_< I think I may send them an e-mail some time {growl}

In a constant state of flux

07:51 a.m.

My life, or rather my mood, is in a constant state of flux right now. I was in a fairly good mood (although I'm a bit disappointed at the amount of work I got done yesterday) until I got home. There, my mood quickly soured...due to 'ye old parents having another conversation as loud as they can. I grin and bear it for family unity, but it's really really pissing me off now (it's been going on for several years and I'm getting close to snapping). I do give them credit for at least recognising later that they were being too loud.
"Were we making too much noise for you?"
<Stephen nods vigourously>
"Well, why didn't you say something?
S: Because if I did, you'd yell at me.
"Yeah, I suppose I would have."
Just think...only 3 more weeks until I get a long break from this.

As a matter of completeness sake, the lab exam marks are now all turned in. I did very well on the genetics exam...well enough that I don't really have a need to inspect the exam (but not ~that~ well ^_-). Just finals, starting next Monday. o.o; My work is cut out for me already.

My good mood was for something else, that I'll share here in a couple of days...a couple of people know about it though ^^.

A side note though: Yeah...the conversation from two posts ago is a bit cliche (present tense used, as it's written down). What else would you expect? Originality at that time of the day is not really a prize commodity :P.

I wanted to also make two addition comments about my blog style. Firstly, convention says that when I mention someone in the text, I'm supposed to link to their blog. I'm too lazy to do that, so that explains why it doesn't get done (a few of the early entries did though mind you.) Secondly, in reference to Priya & Kourin's comments (or was it just Priya?) about not blogging the minuta, I'm afraid I'm guilty on that regard (i.e. I'll mention the infamous school work, and if I comment on something like that, I'll try and really simplify it here, since I know ~everyone~ just loves hearing the details of something like the urea cycle, or cholesterol testing or something like that -_-;). However, I'll try to avoid the great details of the school work. Also, I don't tell all of the stories I have...the few that there are, as remember, science students have no life ^_-.

Gaining those lost days

01:34 a.m.

This was originally written late Friday evening/early Saturday morning (I can't remember which of the two). Just wanted to say that it's amusing that everyone thus far has been amused by the last entry ^^;; I wonder if that says anything ;)

Where I left off was Tuesday evening...though I'm glad you found the last blog entry amusing Kourin ^_^. Wednesday featured the colloquium of biochemists having a symposium about the assignment due Thursday. The team took about 3.5 hours to make it through the assignment...of course with random tangents along the way (such as feelings about the prof, etc...). I think in total, I invested about 10 hours into the assignment (including initial work, discussion and recopying the answers out). Hmm...it was nice seeing the old teamwork and comradarie again (reminds me of high school), but it was less pleasing seeing certain team members not really pulling their weight in the discussion. Before anyone decides to criticize the discussion, I should point out two things. Firstly, the prof knew about our discussion session and was amused. Secondly, as I was told once, "It's not cheating, it's collaboration."

Thursday featured a good lecture on evolution in my genetics class ^__^. I was very happy about this, and actually stayed awake through a good majority of the class. Heh heh...I have strong feelings on this debate...perhaps another time, I'll discuss them here (haven't decided yet). On a similar topic...it is possibly forseeable that I hear bells ringing distantly...

I'm going to try and scan in my chibi on Monday...and finally show some people who are very interested in its appearence...I'll put a link on the blog of course. ^_^;;.

Not much tonight...except I went to buy subs for supper from Mr. Sub, and some punkass (explitive deleted) stole the VIP cards and stamp...which meant I couldn't progress further to a free sub (on one card, I had 8 of 9 stamped >_<)....{growls}

Ah yes....I spent some time talking to my biochemistry lab instructor, about more bigger things (i.e. future plans and what not...a fairly good conversation...mostly relaxing and other such stuff). My o chem course...I'm not saying anything about that right now -_-. I know the material mostly, but ...I keep forgetting different conceptual concepts along the way, which definitely doesn't please me much.

Plans for the weekend...begin reviewing notes for finals, and write up my take home exam for biochemistry (due Monday, high noon).

As promised, I said I was going to comment on that point I always hear about from my friends (female) that males have it easier than females do. Actually, they're right...I concede that point entirely. I was commenting to S about how incapacitating my stomach cramps were (during the Wednesday of reading week--see archives) and she said, be thankful you're not female. I think she made some comments also about low threshold of pain and other such related topics). ^^;; Yeah...I'm not sure about others, but I guess I do have a somewhat low threshold of pain in some regards. I did use to try and work through headaches without taking some sort of ASA, acetomenophen (sp), or something else...eventually, I just gave in and began to take something for the strong headaches (infrequent, not chronic). I can't remember the description that S gave about the menses on Wednesday, but I seem to recall pudding, diapers and something else...(disturbing K as well [side effect]).

Let's see...I seem to recall a few other points as well including that being male is cheaper than being female ^^;;. I think I heard at least 3 people say/agree with that. Unfortunately, I missed hearing the underwear discussion that occured one afternoon [^^;;;;], but I think the general trend is as above.

I think that's about as far as I'm willing to go into this tonight...not sure if I'll examine it further here (though, yes, there are other issues as well) but I think I've made the point. I'll keep my Y chromosome myself...even though it makes me genetically inferiour, and more suceptable to certain diseases (also thinks about the clinical biochemistry lecture talking about prostate cancer in males : ( -- 1/2 odds past age 50 ). Anyhow, I'm diverging.

What happens when two hentai types communicate?

07:53 a.m.

I had a good day Tuesday...I did minimal work and spent much of the night online talking to various people. One conversation was frightening, the other somewhat disturbing. Here's the transcript of the disturbing one ^_^;.

S: How's life treating you....any answer other than "like a bitch" is accepted. ^^;;

like a bitch no da

S: That wasn't an acceptable answer :P
<pats ~~ on the head and puts the Chichiri dolly in her hands>

chichiri *addresses her dolly* life's a bitch! and you don't hug me back no da!
*CRIES*
*wants a chichiri lolly to suck on*

S: <hands ~~ a Chichiri lolly....it's a kasa on top...(don't want to be hentai here...though I think I might be able to get one of ~those~ Chichiri lollys (at the price of losing a hell of a lot of face) ^^;;;

ooh yes one of those chichiri lollys and doens't a kasa on top sorta look like well the head of a penius?
:P

S: Damn...you had to ask for the embarassing one.
<gives ~~ the H Chichiri lolly wrapped in a brown paper bag....and is beet red while doing so >

a brown paper bag, it shpould be a kesa patterned bag
8takes it out and happily starts enjoying ehr lolly*
want the other one? it's orange, must be Tasuki's?
^_^

S: I'll pass on that one... ^_^;; On second thought...I'll take it. I'm sure I can put it to good use somewhere along the way ^^;;

no you should ENJOY it, not pass it off to someone else *MAU*

S: True...but it's a H lolly ^^;;; Kind of feels wrong to consume it ^^;;;

nay take delite in it, just like how I always lvoed bitong offthe head of gingerbread cookies and animal crackers

S: <shrugs> I'm a scientist...so I have no fashion sense or self-dignity left.
<pops the lollipop in his mouth>

that's the spirit!
*slurp*

S: What would Freud say about us now? ^^;;; (Perhaps best not to think about it)...

Freud would say I'm a woman who has quite a libido
:P
he would say you are harboring a homosexual fetish :P

S: Yep...that's right o.o;;

that and you ahve an Oedipus complex :P

S: Yep...that's right....and that everything is a phallic symbol...and you....with the penis envy.

no not penius envy, just want a penius, attached to my mate for life :)

S: At least you said attached...otherwise, memories of Bobbit come to mind. >_<

ew... um no I don't want the penius without my man, takes allt he fun out of the picture, if I wanted that I could go order a dildo

S: Heh...well, remember, we're talking about Freud here.... =P

yeah but even Freud said sometimes a cigar is jsut a cigar :P

^^;;; I know, I know...^^;;;;;;;;;. It was amusing though.

4/10/01 I corrected some of the coding from the last time...take a look at this again to see the actual correctly attributed lines of this convo. SC

05:30 p.m.

Finished the lab exam just now...going to take the night mostly off (would have watched some anime, but S forgot the tape ^^;;). I think I might actually work on my web page a little o.o;. I should be on ICQ and MSN tonight (for either of the contact infos, for those who want it, send me an e-mail no da). I do have to have an interesting conversation with someone tonight. {^_^ I think}

I remembered two stories that I wanted to mention. Firstly, last Tuesday, the issue of Nature I ordered (free ^_-) came in...it's the Human Genome issue. It's nice...I'm slowly working my way through it...starting with the ads in the beginning o.o;. Wow...so chock full of ads, it isn't even funny ^^;;. I'm too cheap to buy the Science issue to complete the collection.

Secondly, for those readers who have been following this log for some time may recall my previous discussion on how I overloaded classes. Well, my hunches were right. They cancelled the techniques of measurement in biochemistry class...so luckily, no harm done...but o.o.

Hmmmm...may be I should work on those letters I've been putting off (snail and e-mail) ^^;; Novel idea isn't it? I also owe someone a tape {bows in embarassment...I thought I could get it done during the semester break...I was wrong :/).

I knew scientists wasted their life...

05:31 p.m.

From yesterday's episode of The Simpsons ^^;. The other good line is:
Homer: "Oh no! We've got a hungry hungry hippo".
Heh...I really liked that game as a kid, though we never bought it for our house.

A few comments of housekeeping to deal with right now.
a) Just as a clarification, I don't actually believe in Moon's comments...I just found them amusing. Key distinction here.
b) One more lab exam to go...that's tomorrow. After that, an assignment or two and then finals (got to really work on studying post haste).
c) Kourin suggested to me that I redesign this blog. ^^;; I didn't think it was that bad though. Hmmm...any suggestions or designs would be gladly entertained.
d) Archived today...which is rather obvious mind you.

Future entries will definitely address the topic that "Men have it much easier than women"...and I'll link a few stories to this theme.
