Another topic suitable for the List... Today's topic given for me to research is breast reduction surgery...I've got the raw abstracts from PubMed...but I haven't filtered them yet. In the nature of public service, on the off chance someone other than the one who gave me the topic would find this information useful, send me an e-mail and I'll send the abstracts off. Isn't being a science-type person fun? ^^;
Didn't do that much this weekend...except trying to stay cool @_@...did a bit of DDR...and convinced my brother to play a game [snerks]. He didn't too bad for his first time...managed to beat a 2 footer...but he found the game a bit fast and he didn't like the look of the arrows going up the screen ^^;; I'm still not always guaranteed a pass on Kick the Can Maniac...but I'm working on it ^_^;; I've been saving this text from a spam I received for when I had some time to mock it: Now why is this important? Well our body naturally converts H2O into H3O.OH, but this conversion diminishes
(naturally and unnaturally) as we age or because due to our
ever increasing toxic environment. H3O.OH's role is to continually allow our bodies to regenerate at the cellular level by cleansing, detoxifying and fortifying our entire systems!
Way more hyperbole and dubious science can be found here.
Where do I begin with the mockage? Let's start out with the entire idea of H3O.OH...initially, when I saw the message, I was a bit puzzled, since I had never heard of water being written in that form before. I then realised kind of what they were getting at, due to the chemical equilibrium of H2O (autoproteolysis to be exact).
H2O(l) <-->* H+(aq) + OH-(aq) Thus, the idea is that H3O+ bonds with OH- and then produces H3O.OH. The extra period in the middle is supposed to be a free radical I suppose?!. However...as H3O+ is just a proton, really, all that is produced is H2O (perhaps two H20 molecules bonded together I suppose). Thus, such a product would be useless.
All right...so the body naturally makes this conversion apparently. However, let us take a look at that equilibrium equation mentioned above...that shows that a conversion in both directions will occur no matter what!! (even if you pour a glass of water and let it sit...that reaction will be occurring). It's just chemistry here with the equilibrium CONSTANT dictating this reaction...the body and its biochemistry has nothing to do with it.
As for "H3O.OH" apparently being better for the body? As I think I've demonstrated above, H3O.OH == H20 (or may be 2H2O) == water. There is no special property about it. I also dislike the notation used here...H3O.OH says to me a free radical...and free radicals let loose in the body can be bad news with creation of reactive species and then perhaps chain reactions. Thus, ironically with their own compound name, they're saying that the compound will be detrimental to a human.
The backstory of this bit of junk science has this Korean individual inventing it and how people are doing so very well because of this compound. [who has 2 PhDs apparently {Molecule Correction Medical Science and Physical Science}...pity they're from an online university that isn't accredited...} On the cached copy of the biochemistry.com web board, I found an interesting discussion between a layman trying to convince a PhD that this H3O.OH was special and that perhaps the reason the PhD hadn't heard about it before is because it's "new research". If it was so great...it'd be in the literature (Science or Nature, definitely)...secondly, more people would likely have heard about it.
I'm looking for a piece of claim on the "valuable" link above to mock...but while I was looking, I found these great claims:
H3O.OH Energy Water facilitates three primary processes:
Facilitates metabolism and synthesis of 300 million enzymes.
Delivers all the information coming to and from DNA.
Facilitates metabolism and accordingly oxygen and nutrients in the DNA to fully perform its functions. This improves the ability of cells to regenerate and renew correctly, and allows the body to cure disease by itself. Bwahahahahaha...DNA doesn't really get any information sent to it as it is the information. Yes, DNA can be modified somewhat through such stuff as mutations, but it's usually post-transcriptional (after RNA formation) or post-translational modification (after protein formation) (that is when it isn't in DNA form)... I feel for David Baltimore and the others (but more so Baltimore since his quote on signal cell transduction doesn't even fit into the topic well) for having their quotes perverted in such a way.
Ah...found it from World Wide Scam [incidently, take a look at the main page for some laughs and giggles]
The crystals, as I understand it, are basically Sodium Chloride, (NaCl, or recrystalized seasalt), but what they are comprised of is not the secrete of the Miracle Energy Water. What makes the crystals work is the proprietary "programming" of these crystals that when mixed with water (H2O) causes the molecular structure of the water to be converted into H3.OH
Oooh...crystals can be programmed in order to convert H2O ...[laughs hard again].
Have to wonder about the gullibility of people sometimes...although I concede fully that everyone has different levels of scientific knowledge and may not know all of these things...
I close with a challenge:
I challenge any H3O.OH promoter to prove me wrong and show that your product works or explain the science to me, a biochemistry/molecular biology type science student so that I can see the scientific merit (if applicable)...hell, I'll even be nice and not make it necessary to present peer-reviewed emperical studies [although they would help very very much in your proof].
How many takers will I get? ^_-
* I'm aware that the <--> actually stands for resonance, but I'm unable to draw an equilibrium arrow. No content here today (I was going to say that the content isn't really a drawing point here...but then...I realised that there would then be NO drawing point), just some Hikaru no Go text translation links I found (mostly for my uses...so I can clean up my bookmark list a bit).
Tanks 1-3 All I could find unfortunately :(
Next entry...Stephen mocks some pseudo-scientific spam...[notes that he'll likely have to revise when a chemist sees his remarks -_-] Another rehearsal tonight for the choir (of the only 5 total...eeep). I worked on the pieces a while last night...have a bit more of an idea of what's going on with them...but there's still more work for me to do with them...)
Just for those who care, the pieces that are being done are:
Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by Edmund Rubbra [both have some strange note patterns]
The student union meeting went by pretty quick (for funding for the biochemistry/chemistry student association) allowing me to type this quick entry right now before I head off to the practice...
I just skimmed Bush's speech about corporate goverance...seems like he had a good speechwriter here...I do note that it was only a skim of the article ^^;
It's good to see WMC back...but a pity that I missed on her on AIM three separate times today ;)
You know...I've had NO winners of Congly Quiz #1 claim their prizes =P...that either may be due to a) forgetfulness on their part, b) not caring or c) the prizes really sucked...[I'm guessing c myself =P]
I should get around to addressing some of the unanswered questions on the infamous question list in the near future...I note that I get a reasonable number of blog hits for menstration [and at least one query for immunity and menstration--so at least someone benefited from my answer {noting that Priya helped out a lot with that question specifically}].
Hmmm...almost time for an archival [sees the post number approaching 40 ^^;...should be by early next week or so I guess...
Strange Matter is still down...as is konaju.com...gah...
Ah...today the "squeaky clean" Bush will be making his speech to Wall Street executives asking for Corporate America to clean up. Unfortunately for him [I do note here that his goal is very laudable], his message will lose a lot of its force considering that there is the hint of being tainted by his own stock dealings in the early 1990s... In more amusing news...I'm quoting from today's Globe and Mail that had a snippet from the "5th" Harry Potter book (from Social Studies in particular)
Chinese collectors of Harry Potter (Ha-li Bo-te, in Mandarin) are being warned that the latest book, supposedly the fifth in the wildly popular series, is a fake. Harry Potter and Leopard-Walk-Up-To-Dragon, titled after its mysterious villain, bears the name of J. K. Rowling -- Harry's real author -- but is the work of an anonymous writer. In this counterfeit tale, Harry is turned into a hairy dwarf after a "sour-sweet" rain. The book's opening: "Harry is wondering in his bath how long it will take to wash away the creamy cake from his face. To a grown-up, handsome young man, it is disgusting to have filthy dirt on his body. Lying in a luxurious bathtub and rubbing his face with his hands, he thinks about Dudley's face, which is as fat as Aunt Petunia's bottom." Ah yes...I remembered what else I wanted to mention. I'll be involved for parts of the next two weeks with choir rehearasals for this chamber choir that forms intermittantly...so five rehearsals in total and the concert is on 20 July...that means I'll be working hard on learning music post haste for the next little while (which may mean that I won't be kicking around online at night for as long as normal...I can see the tears starting to run down the faces of some saddened people ;) ) I can't remember the song titles...but I've never come across them before. I also note that some may find it ironic that I'm singing chamber music considering my ethos...but I like singing and the music is really pretty :) No splitting of the bass section this time though except for a few notes...^^;...however, I think I'm the only Bass I around this time ^^;;;;;;;
Found this New Scientist Last Word link I was looking for concerning how to test the idea that "a male thinks about sex every 8 seconds"...seems to be an urban legend. Thought so...since that number seems really low. There'd have to be lots of males with lots of time on their hands to lower that time period between sexual thoughts...not that time is the only thing on their hands...[yes, I know that deserves a booking ^^;]
Finished watching through Slayers Try last week...okay...but all in all, I think I like Slayers Next better...mostly due to the fact that the throwaway episodes in Next were funnier than Try [yes, I like the throwaway episodes more than the story episodes]...
That's about all I want to say ~here~... No Strange-matter link today...as the site is down now as I'm trying to make this entry...
Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who has shown support for me in the past few days. I'm doing better now...but things are not quite resolved completely...hopefully matters will be resolved in the manner that I'm hoping for in the near future...in other news, the I did go out and see Lord of the Rings as mentioned in an earlier entry...I liked the movie...and it made sense ^^;; [in such that I understood what happened in the book better...although it's been ages since I read the trilogy]. It seems likely that I'll go and see the Two Towers at a first run...may be the movie can make me like that book ^^;;[I thought it was the boring book of the trilogy, but that's just me]. I do have to admit that Legolas is handsome and if I were female, I would think that he's attractive (and now can perhaps see why WMC has him as her second lust)...although I do have to say that he really looks boyish. I'm so reminded of the Legolas/dwarf guy slash that Priya couldn't take without screaming and collapsing into a little ball whimpering in the corner...XD. As for hobbits...ummm...no [then again, from my fantasy days, I'm an elf fan]. Hey...thought of the day...aren't halflings from the various AD&D settings saga kind of like a knockoff
of hobbits?
Eeeep Katelynne...can't help having a Y chromosome here o.o; [not that I'd want to give it up]...(as you can see Katelynne...I've been a bit behind in reading your blog). Yay for package...and I've now heard of MD players on this side of the bond ^_^;; [heard an advertisment on the radio featuring them on sale].
I wanted to highlight an interesting discussion by Joy [2 July 2002] concerning the distinction between shoujo and shounen using Saiyuki [which admittedly I've never seen] as a case study. Very interesting and well written. I'm not sure that I entirely agree with the net conclusion, as shoujo and shounen are strictly publishing conventions...basically, a title's classification depends on who published it/where it was published (more emphasis on the latter I believe)...and I thought [keep in mind that I know little to nothing about it] that it was a shounen title. What the chara designer says has little to do with its classification respectfully...it's simply a call of the publisher.
Hey...that links perfectly well into my next point...in that I'll likely buy Viz's Shounen Jump type publication [hopefully some good titles] as it'll be ~250 pp perfect bound...for get this, $4.95 US [same as Animerica-Extra @_@]...my wallet whimpers some more.
As promised from earlier...the Dam Dariam KCP Mix on Maniac stepchart...now picture never seeing that before...-_-;
BTW...Kristina is a bad bad person for sloring me on Hikaru no Go. Bad Kristina, bad!!. cc, still looking for text translations? I have the URLs to some...but not a complete set :( From the brilliant site Strange Matter You know it's bad when both a) you get the jokes and b) you find them funny. XD Lots more where that came from...I might post a link to a different cartoon that I find funny every entry ^_-...
Likely a more meaty entry later...I'm toying with addressing the idea of "words as power" (linked to the US Allegience issue)...but I also have weekend events to talk about (well...except for much of Monday that I won't talk about here). I had originally planned to write a long entry about my events this weekend...but any plans to do so have been [temperarily?] put by the wayside due to being drained by the events of yesterday. Drama, in its various incarnations is not pretty...even if one isn't directly involved...
In other news that I feel up to mentioning right now... Phoneline is now working again...fixed up this morning (some problem outside of the house...which means that we weren't charged). Modem just needs to be reconnected...shouldn't take too long except for the jiggling of cords.
Concerning Jackie's comments on DDR, I have this to offer.
From my experience, 3rd Mix isn't a really good one to learn on as there aren't too many basic songs. Actually, 2nd Mix is probably better (your machine may have that on
it as well) but DDR USA, in spite of its flaws is probably best for learning. It took me about 10 games or so before I started to become...okay I guess. What I used to do is on the DDR USA, dance the first four songs on Beginner (1 foot) and on the 5th song, do something challenging. Once I got good at the higher foot song...then song 4 was the song I was good at and then the 5th song again was something I wasn't sure about. Eventually, I got to the point where I could risk doing a song I wasn't sure about...sort of a confidence thing I suppose. My hint, if you're not doing it already is to first start by using only the left foot to hit the left button and use the right foot to hit the other three (unless you have to jump). Eventually, you can start
moving around a bit when you get better/get bored, something like that ^^;
Probably for the better that I couldn't make it out for Wednesday's radio station patio party. They offered nachos as a snack and three free drinks...to be chosen from three types of beer. Not being a fan of beer [bitter fizzy water]...it all worked out.
Oh...Ryuuen, not that you'll see it...got your package. Thanks :D Also Priya...sorry to hear about your problems with tech support. That just sucks. >_<.
Thought of the day (inspired by some...discussions elsewhere about the declaration of the Pledge of Allegance unconstitutional. There are two major concepts to a constitutional democracy: Majority rules...and minority rights...there cannot be a tyranny of the majority (I can't remember the catch phrase that has the better ring to it...so this will have to do).
I'll be headed out to see Lord of the Rings tonight...looking forward to it :D However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to understand WMC's Legolas fetish ^_-
I'll be going with some friends from work...although I think my family might be going to the same showing as well...hmmm...
Yay...caught up a lot on the e-mail I meant to write...still a few more stragglers...including the SoU -_-...soon, I promise. -_-
Lastly...[and yes, I know this has been a choppy entry]...as I likely won't update this weekend and I won't be coming in on Monday...happy Canada Day in advance :) [July 1st] Have a good long weekend Canadians ^_^ Gah...our phoneline went dead yesterday meaning that I have no internet access (or phone access) at home. I'm not too impressed...other related events of last night also didn't make me too happy...[growls]. Have to wait until I get home before they can do a line test (need to unhook the modem)...and obviously, I can't call home to tell them what's going on.
I added some people to the reading list yesterday...most of the ones added I know to be wise {luckily, not all details escape me ^^;}. I also added Sarah...although I don't think I know her, anyone who is proud of getting Molecular Biology of the Cell by Alberts et al. is somebody worth reading in my mind XD
I was going to mention this yesterday but didn't quite get to it: the US Pledge of Allegiance is declared unconstitutional. I think we've had similar discussions about the wording of our constitution and O Canada in general...but nothing has really come of it. However, in this case, if my Canadian history serves me correctly, the idea of a higher power existing was one of the frameworks of the formation of Canada. I'm not sure...I wonder if I have notes on that kicking around somewhere or if I'll have to go look it up. I think it's that difference that makes the two situations non-analagous (mind you, I can't rememember much about the formation of the US other than the Seven Year War and the date [I hope that's the right war @_@].
Didn't make it out last night which was a bit disappointing, but what can you do? I instead went to the arcade and manufactured a bit of fun ^^;;;;;. Some decent people on the DDR machine...I also learnt about...Dam Darian KCP Mix at Maniac @_@;;;; So failed that...but the guy that was on the other side managed to pass it. [admittedly, it was the first time that I'd ever seen it, and it is 7 feet...but still]. Wow...I might have to make that a song to tackle and eventually pass. I'll look up the steps for that and link it here.
Lastly...I close with mentioning the introduction of amazon.ca into Canada...leading to contraversy from the booksellers (may be violating the Investment Canada Act (Canadians must own the majority of a bookseller)...although publishers are pretty happy. I don't usually order books online though although it is a great comparision tool before I go to a "mortar and bricks" bookseller ^^;; I highly recommend Abebooks.com though when you're looking for old out of print books (I should link that on the main template of here...will do it eventually @_@)
Eeep...no time for e-mail...and I have a number of people whom I need to send messages to -_-. I will do that at lunch. Eventually, I'll get around to adding the wise regulars to the people known list (at least the ones I recognise). Heh. That's a near future plan...i.e. towards the tail end of this week, early next week. I know I have a few already listed here known through other means. I haven't decided if I want to mark them off...I'm leaning to not doing so...as I fear being hunted down ^^;
SoU...will work on setting up that ML...(rather adding people to it) and should really get around to writing it up [I think I'm repeating myself here -_-]
Tin...you don't know how Wrong that query to me sounds =P I'll send you an e-mail on it privately (yes, shocking that I'm not putting it on the blog...)
Genji status...notes typed in up to chapter 4, reading chapter 10. Probably have to read the volume of Akira I have first...as I think it's due soon @_@
Katelynne and Evil One...sorry for disappearing so abruptly last night...I needed to crash.
Vague social plans...finally will catch Lord of the Rings this weekend in the cheap theatre...plan to go out tomorrow due to a colleague winning a stack of passes to a local radio station's patio party...heh.
Oh yes...I note that Boy (my brother, and not his real name for those keeping score) has his graduation ceremonies today.
Sorry...hope to get a more content filled entry sometime o.o;;; I have a stack of URLs that I've dug out my e-mail that I need to look at and might be worth commenting on. I can comment on one thing though...it was interesting to see the Wired writer shocked at the idea of real life people being slashed (here in this case Bill Gates and Steve Jobs). I seem to recall being told of boyband slash a while back...friend/colleague of mine got hooked on N-Sync slash due to Thea ^^;;;;;;...so it's not that it hasn't occurred before. Throwaway entry alert...
Somehow, I manage to acquire a lot of roles for myself online. Firstly, I do recall for a fact that Priya was to be my paid sidekick...but through some events (that I still don't even know what they are), I'm now her minion and she's my master. May be it was the fact that I was offering Canadian money. Perhaps? Might be some other cause. I'm sure that there are a few of you out there who might consider this rather fitting. ^^;;
This is interesting though...since I seem to recall that both Priya and I were rated 'uke' on that uke/seme test [oh...I guess I wasn't supposed to mention that result again was I XD]. This might bring some merit to Kourin's claim that she controls Priya...and I suppose through that logic, Kourin'd control me. As you might guess, Priya and Kourin disagree very strongly on the material facts in the matter. As for me, I have no comment...[yes, I do eventually learn to shut my mouth after awhile ^_-]
Anyhow, that's somewhat off the topic I was headed to. Coupled to this is the fact that WMC has made claims on me to be ~her~ minion. This one I know I didn't agree to at all. I suppose that I can be somewhat flattered that I'm considered worthy enough to be minion material...or rather should be disturbed considering the hierarchy of minion and master/mistress. Could lead to some conflict though if plans turn out to be similar o.o;;. Of course, we all know who will get blamed. Me.
Now...both the evil one and the twisted evil one have made claims on me for minion status. What's next? The semi-evil one making a claim?...[Stephen sighs concerning his weaknesses]
Third role...being male on a particular IRC channel means that I get to be in charge of keeping the floor clean o.o;;. I sort of dug my own grave here due to a few sardonic comments I made on there...and Kourin then decided to extend it further tossing a rather...unique quote on the bot. (notably referencing ~who~ exactly was making the mess). What's wrong with cleaning up after yourself I ask =P [which reminds me of one of Kristina's rants...but I digress]. I have a few more comments on this matter, but I think I'd better not continue along this topic path.
Overall lesson...don't let your male children hang around with fangirls. They're a corrupting influence and will try and capture as many males as they can for various purposes [some better than others]. At least Boy won't follow my not-so-wise footsteps in this regards...I've scared him enough with stories. Hmmm...I wonder, is it entirely due to fangirls or is it my personality that makes/made me susceptible? [grins]
In all seriousness, congrats to Ingrid for completing her last high school final exam ever. Ming-Ling, nice summary of the year. It makes me feel bad that I still haven't written mine up yet (which only has to cover a semester)...and I'm almost two months late with it @_@. Damn...should have typed out that letter...then I could have copied and pasted and been really far ahead. Like normal, a random mix of topics thrown together and linked in only the thread-barest of ways.
Firstly, I wish I had saved the short AIM snippet with Kristina about celebratory comments and the differences in celebration in soccer and football. I can remember the general gist of it, but not using the exact quote detracts from it. Conveniently, this actually does link into another topic on the agenda. The catalyst for this discussion had to do with remarks I had made in jubulation in getting a great deal that WMC had tipped me off on: the Chronicles of Lodoss War TV VHS boxed set (26 episodes subtitled) for $10 US. List price, $150ish US. Yeah...so clearly, I would be estatic.
Or so I thought...apparently they made a mistake and they cancelled my order and now offer it to me at half price. Although they may have had good intentions with this, it now really looks like 'bait and switch' to me (based on my reading of the regulations both US and Canadian). [please note: I'm not a lawyer, this isn't legal advice and I'm not practicing law]. Yes, I appreciate they may have honestly made a mistake, but WMC has been looking into the FTC regulations on the matter and from what she's said to me, their lack of appropriate disclosure of their site policy [read not blindingly obvious where it is] puts them in violation of FTC guidelines...and hence, the order should be fulfilled?
Next set of topics is just two URLs I came across in my e-mail: Adding nicotine to water. Seems to be a somewhat contraversial matter due to the fact that kids can easily get their hands on it. Some want it to be regulated by the US FDA which is probably a wise idea. Myself, I have a few worries about adding such stuff to water (yes, in bottles but still)...especially if the drinking supply is contaminated (it might be trace amounts...but I don't want any more stuff coming in my water than the stuff that's already there naturally)
Earlier and earlier onset of puberty in females is starting to be a growing concern. This Globe and Mail article basically gives a short primer on the matter (not overly complex scientifically) and mentions that some are getting their children (almost always female) treatment to delay the onset of puberty. It's an interesting read...should only take 5 or so minutes.
Oh...to a different gear altogether. I watched "Dog Eat Dog" on Monday. I sat through the entire episode...in order to be justified in saying that the show...is bad. However, bad is an understatement. It's closer to abysmal and putrid. Stupid premise...and the host seems to be rather stupid. Forgive me for saying this, but she seems to be a representation of the infamous "dumb blond" caricature. Her reading of the teleprompter was poor...and the fact that she had to make symbols every time to signal how many points each side had in the "final showdown" was annoying. Oh...lots of product shots...I think Netzero supplied the clock and it was a Circuit City monitor.
Last note...check out Kris' latest entry (18 June 2002)...some links there that are interesting. The gamer girl commentary is decent there too, but not super interesting to me [admittedly, I only skimmed it]
In the next installment of "Stephen rambles on and on", hear about why a male should be careful around fangirls, or "This wasn't in the contract?!" Before explaining the title topic, let me vent a little about Yahoogroups. I signed in this morning to set up a ML for the Congly SoU (which I ~will~ get about to writing very very soon) and to do some stuff for the biochemistry/chemistry student association. I did some admin stuff on animemangasales and cleaned up the bounces (and reset them)...until I noticed that MY e-mail address is listed under a Hard Bounce. My e-mail account is alive and running fairly well.
This explains many things (in that I wasn't getting any e-mail from a few lists that I would expect e-mail from...). Grrrrrr. Now...the kicker is that I can't reset my account status on the other lists so that I'm back to normal again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. In fact, on a few of the lists I own, I can't even reset my status so I can post online. I'm not very amused...not at all.
What's the title subject about? Simple...that catchy DDR 5th Mix song that is horribly fun to do. I was playing 5th Mix on Sunday (after going to see Van Wilder [not bad...not extraordinarily intelligent, but amusing for the $2 I spent]). I was very bad on the machine XD...doing a few can-can steps on the second game [admittedly, that was on my second game...the first time I tried Kick the Can, it didn't really work out that well]. I managed to beat Maniac without too much of a problem (2nd time...since I didn't overexhert myself on the first two songs). What is Kick the Can you ask? It's the can can song at 144 bpm...and at Maniac, every time there's a note, it's a step XD. (Length: 1:33, # of steps is 313.)
Read a fair bit of translated manga this weekend as well (up to #9 of Ah My Goddess). Also watched the subbed uncut version of Perfect Blue from the library...now that I watch it again for the second time, it is much more clear...
A few other points in passing. I'll eventually get around to adding certain wise blogs to the reading list...I just haven't had the time, etc. Related to this topic...I'm going to go and dig out lots and lots of quotes XD. Lastly, my grandmother is coming in tomorrow for at least a week (not sure exactly how long) as Boy graduates next week... Lastly: (due to Seimei and Kourin)
I couldn't come up with a title that both expresses what I'm feeling right now and is oblique enough for my needs and wants.
A few URLs for me to read (yes, finally going through the BMJ again...)
Limits of teacher delivered sex education: interim behavioural outcomes from randomised trial Essentially suggesting that sex education doesn't work at all.
I found the information about rabies that I was looking for earlier. They don't give 21 odd shots in the stomach anymore after a bite from an animal potentially afflicted with rabies. Instead, 6 shots over a month in the upper arm. Information from LSU School of Veternary Medicine Finished my judging yesterday for the Virtual Science Fair...submitted my scores today. Top mark I gave was 80/100 [50% on design, 50% based on scientific content]
Tried two different types of Coke (the brand of carbonated beverage, not the generic word used for pop in Texas ^_-...and smart alecs, note the capitalisation :P). Cherry Coke wasn't very good at all -_-...it just seemed wrong I guess. The Vanilla Coke (yes, it's a new flavour they've just introduced) was interesting. I'm reminded of one of my Slurpie mixes I am often want to do...it also reminded me of a cream soda flavour in some way. It didn't seem totally natural mind you. It was interesting though...curious ones might want to try it...because it is an unique taste (kind of like the Nestea Slurpies, but I digress ^^;).
Ah...I might as well mention that the hit of Infinite Ryvius yesterday was very very very good *_*. I had thought that it was Wrong before...oh...how incorrect I was XD. The Wrongness level increased greatly...things happen on the ship that I suppose one could say that are inevitable, but they are major changes. Also saw Cowboy Bebop Ep. 13 Session XX which was kind of funny (clip show not on video). It reminds me that I should eventually get around to seeing the rest of that series. Android Announcer Maico anime is kind of cute, pinyon. However, pinyon, it is nothing pinyon like the manga pinyon at all pinyon. [bonus consideration pinyon for identifying the pinyon reference ^_-].
Just a quick mention that I finally managed to beat both Dam Dariam and Stomp to the Beat at Trick on DDR ^^ (no spins on Stomp though ^^;)...oh...and Kristina is being evil again XD (I'll work on reading it...really ^^; Not quite WMC. I have been spending my spare blogging time judging projects...although I was this close to screaming at my computer screen and writing up a profanity filled entry as I was very upset at a particular matter [some of you can probably guess what it was]. Judging status: 11/15 complete (6:02 PM) If there is a lack of bloggage this week, it's because I'm busy judging the Virtual Science Fair. I'll edit this post later today.

A stunning image of Jubei-chan, from Jubei-chan, The Ninja Girl a short
13 episode OAV. The first episodes are hysterical; it dies down towards the end, but over all, I liked it. It's a good series for marathoning (did so last year XD)
