Funny...

...I can't view the blog, but I can make an entry into it. Hmmm...

I submitted my seminar title yesterday; the seminar (15 minutes) is next Tuesday. It's almost done, I just need to have my boss go through it carefully.

It's raining right now...finally, it's relatively cool...

Sorry for those who were expecting a more interesting entry...perhaps the next one will be better. {oh yes...I should have instead been writing up an envelope instead of doing this ^^;;}

Gap filling

Heh heh heh...I'm glad you liked my new euphemism Tin XD. Yours though is pretty good with the "Everstanding Bunny". It keeps on going and going and going... (H_H in two different ways ^^;; -- e-mail me if an explaination is required ^^;; ) I'm curious to see the Sizzling Chemistry article. I don't suppose in involves coating one person in potassium, and tossing them in water does it? ^^;;

Kourin...don't feel bad...I got almost the same past life that you did...I think the only difference was the thing I was supposed to learn. Let's just punch it through here. "I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation.
You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Borneo around the year 575.
Your profession was that of a librarian, priest or keeper of tribal relics.
Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
Seeker of truth and wisdom. You could have seen your future lives. Others perceived you as an idealist illuminating path to future.
The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
Your lesson is to develop a kind attitude towards people, and to acquire the gift of understanding and compassion.

Hey...do I hear snerking? :P

Hmmm...not sure if I'll buy that copy of "Tale of Genji" that I saw... It's the 1st paperback edition in VG condition for a little over $20 CDN. A new hardcover (of that 1st edition) is $35 CDN plus tax...but I'm not sure if Chapters can get it in. Hmmm... Question is...do I really want the hardcover that badly? Do I have the shelf space? Hmmmm...I suppose I should call down to there and see how much it would cost (as their price online might be lower than in store).

{screeches to a halt}
Oh...I see. It seems as if the hardcover edition has some serious issues (at least the one that the bookstore could get): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0679417389/qid=997153837/sr=1-1/ref=sc_b_1/104-7725771-3811167
The review near the bottom. (1/5 stars)

Jackie...yeah...Tanith Lee is pretty good...I've read some of her stuff, and liked it a fair bit ^^; I can't remember which trilogy it was that was good, but a bit freaky.

Katelynne...it's difficult to scare me you know ^^. Remember...my tolerance to scaryness has been increased drastically (thinks of a certain fanfic that was written about SW:TPM that disturbingly accurately references another classic work o.o;;;;) -- {sidebar...I haven't read the fic...only told about the ~illustrated~ version @.@)

When my internal temperature and the external temperature differs by < 3 C, it's too bloody hot

I'm melting...and I don't know how people can put up with this heat continually. I'm more a cool weather person...and right now, it's too hot for my liking ;_;. I suppose this is better than the really cold winters, but still... Oh yes S-san...I now support cold houses in summer more than I ever did before :P

Oh yes...S-san...I was just hunting for a definition of room temperature. Let's see...our options are 20 C, 22 C, and 25 C (standard temperature). {looks it up on dictionary.com} Gah...that doesn't help...between 20-25 C -_-;
Okay now...a US government definition for RT: "The USP has defined controlled room temperature as "A temperature maintained thermostatically that encompasses the usual and customary working environment of 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F); that results in a mean kinetic temperature calculated to be not more than 25°C; and that allows for excursions between 15° and 30°C (59° and 86°F) that are experienced in pharmacies, hospitals, and warehouses."
http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/onctools/prepare.cfm?GN=gemcitabine

Hence S-san...your defintion and my definition both work (though I like mine better {cooler} in the summer than yours o.o;; )

Here's a scary thing...I was looking for a copy of the Seidensticker translation of "Genji" and was actually thinking of spending a lot more to buy the 2 volume hardcover (78 Knopf) in box...instead of the cheap copy -_-;; That's a bad sign of things to come ^^;;; (the one I'm eying now is a paperback version from Canada...and I think I'll get it so I'll have reading when I get back home).

Trying another futile question...finding cheap legitimate merchandise on Ebay and failing miserably. Gah...why do I even try ;_;

Not too much else to say. I completed my mission today which was to get a photo of myself done. I might scan it in...might not. I haven't decided if I want to break the scanner yet XD.

Hmmm...for those so inclined...a cheap DJ of the infamous Battou Romance (500 yen)
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1173103049

Ah yes...for those interested in the "Doki doki doki" phenomenon (those who might be interested know what I'm referring to)...I think there's a show on Discovery tonight dealing with that particular issue. As well...I was surprised that the Comedy Network showed an 18A show at 1:30 PM ^^;;;; I like the show (I won't mention the name here...for fear of disturbing referers) which will be on tonight at 11:30 PM but still o.o;;

Hey...sweet...I've got this doll hanging up in my room at home...and I didn't pay anywhere near this ^_^ Thanks Ryuuen ^__^.

So so hot ;_;

It was so hot yesterday...I think it was over 32 C in the house (at 10 PM ;_; ) which is about 88 F. It explains why I was continually sweating the whole night. I was wearing shorts, but as soon as my legs contacted each other, they stuck together. Yuck >_< After a shower (hot...I'm too wussy for a cold one) though...it was much better due to...wait, why am I bothering to give a scientific explaination? It isn't really necessary in this case ^^;;

I'm now highly considering buying a domain name...again, I'm looking for suggestions, although the idea I have in mind has some amusing potential (well, amusing to me...not sure about to anyone else ^^;)

Tin...ah yes...the only reason I said that is because your link to the archives disappeared on both of the blogs until now XD Heh...but once you archive on pitas, you can't delete it...not as far as I can tell at least.

It figures ^^;;;

When I finally figure out how to use AIM at work...no one is online ^^;;

If I have to pop in the lab on weekends (Sunday evening is surprisingly a frequent time o.o;), etc...take a look for me as I'll likely be on ^^;; (darkfacimile). I'll normally be on from 9:45-10:30 AM EST...as that's when I read e-mail in the morning ^^; [only wish I figured this out a while ago]

Damn you evil one...I think you're about 40 K more than I'm worth =P I'll get back to you though about whether things have arrived at home...I'll call home in the next couple of days I would think.

Slow day at work...but fun day...in that I got to BLAST poor things away ^_- {for those who think I'm being cruel, do note that the capitalisation ~is~ intentional.

Hmmm...looking at the tracker, its interesting to see who actually reads this blog...I know there are some people I don't know at all, but that's all right :) What puzzles me is how people find this thing without following a link (I don't see any recent referers no da)...{shrugs} I suppose its one of those mysteries of life...or its because I'm a clueless male, as the evil one might say ^_-

Kristina ^^;;;; Interestingly enough, "Dam Dariam" is one of the 3 songs I've gotten S on (or SSS on DDR USA). Trying it at the 6 foot incarnation doesn't bode as well ^^; The other two are "Dub I Dub" (4 feet) and "El Ritmo Tropical" (2 feet). I've come close to some other songs...but only those ones have I done perfectly. ^^;;;

Random American: "Congratulations Canada on getting the 24 hour clock" o.o;

As any Canadian will be able to tell you, I must have been watching "Talking to Americans" recently. (finally watched my taped copy...as I need the space ^^;) Basically, we have a Canadian comedian (Rick Mercer) go and talk to Americans asking them silly questions somewhat related to Canada. i.e. "Should the great seal hunt in Saskatchewan continue?" (when we have no water o.o;;)...and their response are so amusing. It's even funnier when they go to the universities and ask the students and profs. "Congratulations PM Horton, on your double double" {snerks} It makes me wonder...how much do Americans truely know about Canada. I've heard the horror stories from friends who when they've gone to the US (especially further south) being asked about living in igloos. -_-; You have to love the US...they asked Bush about whether he'd be going to the capital Toronto if he won (during the election)...and he didn't realise the capital is Ottawa -_-. Later, talking to one of his aides:
Mercer: something like: Do you think that Mr. Bush would know what the capital of Canada is?"
Aide: something to the extent of: Canada's capital is not an important thing to know >_<

Lovely -_-;;; At least the US always manages to amuse us...

My de facto supervisor is now on holidays...so I'm kind of alone (there are others in the lab mind you) until the end of my term...this should be...interesting.

Ah yes...the DDR tournament and how easy the songs are:
Round 1:
1.Xanadu (1 foot) 2. Upside Down (? feet) 3. Do it All Night (? feet) 4. Mr. Wonderful (4 feet).
Round 2:
1. The Race (3 feet) 2. Dam Dariam (4 feet) 3. Operator (3 feet) 4. Oh Nick, Please not so Quick (4 feet).
Round 3:
Butterfly (Upswing Mix) (4 feet) 2. Boom Boom Dollar (5 feet), Turn Me ON (4 feet?), 4. Flashdance (What a Feeling) (4 feet?)
Round 4:
Non-Stop: Captain 1. The Race 2. End of the Century, 3. In the Navy '99, 4. Captain Jack.

Damn you Priya :P I'm about 200 K less than you are...damn that degree of yours =P

Miscellany: Tin...I see you made your archive disappear...trying to cover up something? ^_-
I'll note that Jacques Villenueve (sp?) got himself 3rd in last weeks GP...that's good :)
Good luck on your run of work S-san...
So very behind in e-mail...but that's not new is it?

Originally supposed to be a light and fluffy entry, but now a hard compact rant

I had initally intended to talk about the DDR tournament that a local arcade is holding, how I'm annoyed that its during my work day, and how easy the songs are for the first 3 rounds...and how I'd all but make it into the finals o.o;; (Medium mode, on the standard level of difficulty). {Perhaps in the next entry I'll present the songs being done...anyone with a moderate level of skill could do fine...people like Priya who are masters would so school the competition it wouldn't even be funny [though it'd be boring dancing from 1-5 feet ne?]

Instead...I decided to look on Ebay for a few minutes trying to find a few CDs that I wanted (used legitimate Japanese anime CDs). My anger grew and grew as I kept looking and repeatedly found f****** bootlegs on there. Now, I'm not one to really judge, but I can't stand people making a profit from selling bootlegs. Out of all the DDR soundtracks...I think may be one was legitimate...may be. What really angered me was the number of people selling the Ever Anime/Son May CDs as part of a business (viz. several auctions with different stop times for the same product). What surprised me is that a company I know, and wouldn't have thought that would do that, was selling an Ever Anime copy of the Utena movie soundtrack. Grrrrr...

The fansubs and obvious pirate copies of things also rather pissed me off too. Gee...FY TV and OAV on 14 tapes...hmmmm...wonder if ~that's~ legitmate >_< So many VCDs...the Ayashi no Ceres subtitled on VCD, burnt on CD, on tape. It makes me want to go and do things that are probably not nice. {bangs his fist on the table}

If I recall what I've been told, Ebay doesn't care about these auctions...(I think Jackie told me this)...as long as they get their listing fee. ("Only the company whose copyright is being enfringed can do anything"). It'd be interesting to see a courtcase where Ebay got sued by the copyright holder for letting such an auction go through...

{growl} I think I've vented enough for now...

Active or passive...that is a real question

Active vs. passive voice...this might be a real issue for me to deal with.

Normally, when writing formally (especially) in the sciences, I use a 3rd person, passive voice as that is what I've always been taught to do. Sadly for my other instructors, I kept on using the passive voice outside of science...as I liked the sophisticated sound of it.
I suppose I should quickly refresh passive and active voice to save readers the strain of trying to recall. Passive is something like: 10ul alkaline protease solution was added to the miniprep. Active is like: I added 10ul of alkaline protease solution to the miniprep.

I've always tried (in my formal work) to never ever mention myself (i.e. 'I', "Me')...viz my FY theme essays. Informal style are the fan community essays where I relax the rules a bit ^^.

Now...here's the thing. I read an article in New Scientist saying that there is a growing shift to using active voice in publications @_@. I haven't quite detected this trend yet myself...but if that's the case, then I'd better start getting ready to change (as it'll take me a while to get used to it). My lab book is all in passive voice... ^^;;;

I did a bit of a change in the post format, after Venkarel made some suggestions. It looks a bit better I think now (less links to worry about). I can add in a URL if I want to...and it won't be automatic.

Slowly working on my presentation...which is taking longer than I thought it would. Not helping is the fact that I couldn't access the network directly to get the images I had saved on another computer...I have them now...but it was a pain to get them -_-;

Me: You seem to have some strange fascination with hourglasses don't you?

Title topic is a smart remark I made to one of the other students who invited me out to an anime session on Thursday. The show was Big O...and I cracked up emmensely at the opening. Lyrics are a bit challenging to remember though :P After watching the first four episodes (off DVD), I saw the first 3 episodes of Cowboy Bebop (DVD). Heh heh heh...nice stuff, though if I were female, I wouldn't quite classify Spike as being a god-like figure ^^;;; (sorry Katelynne). Must watch more of both.

Saw Blood: The Last Vampire today (at the comic book store) (subbed). It was okay...but not that great. The little bit of Excel Saga I saw (the OP) was funny...as was the Platrix trailer (must see that *_*). One episode of Noir played while I was there o.o;; but I couldn't really read the subtitles...so I really can't put that into the tally sheet of anime seen (wasn't paying full attention to it).

Katelynne: Congrats on getting to 4 feet. That's not too bad (this is DDR (no 2-5th mix) you're talking about? I'm still working on 5 feet to 6 feet (and Dead End was a lot tougher than it seemed...failed that miserably). I'm getting a little better at 6 feet...still failing, but progressing further. As for science students being on some sort of substance...I'm not allowed to divulge that information to non-scientists ^_- (I thought I had a blog entry in the past about being having to be somewhat insane...try looking at the entry of 13 July 2001). ^^;;; I think I've made too many jokes along that vein in the past. o.o;

My days...look what I found by chance {extra large evil grin}
http://www.solisnetwork.com/cgi-bin/biomail/users.pl
This will be a very useful tool for my evil plans.

Tin...congratulations :). On an unrelated point (which is not why she is getting congratulated ^^;), Tin got herself promoted up to a 3rd order (although the number stays the same). I won't bother explaining the justification for the promotion...but it can legitimately be done according to the already established custom of organisation. I have the ominous feeling from what WMC has been saying that Tin will probably move up further in the future (since I know the two of you have been plotting =P)

What else to really say...hmmm...ah yes...e-mail to write...a few people...including one that has been "highly encouraged"...I think I'll drop it a few points on the priority scale ^_-. Hmmm...I'll be in the lab tomorrow to work on some Powerpoint slides (evening)...so you might get almost instant e-mail response at that time (if you can get me when I'm on). A rapid fire e-mail exchange isn't quite as good as a ICQ/AIM, etc. etc. exchange, but due to the firewall, it's the best I've got. Priya...heh...I'd call people in the US, but my long distance plan only covers Canada ^_-...not that friends in the US would want to hear from me XD XD.

Mmm...that's what I wanted to post: http://www.wired.com/news/medtech/0,1286,45589,00.html?tw=wn20010727
Researchers working on a drug to eliminate menstration...allows pregnancy...or not depending on the woman's whim. Originally in J Human Reprod (I think that's the right abbreviation...not a journal I follow, so I wouldn't know unless I looked, but I'm too lazy :P )

Along the same line...on the ubiquitous cards I scribble stuff I get from journals in the library...more interesting stuff from New Scientist. Gah...it's on my bench in the other room, and I have no real urge to get up and get it. Another time then...one had to deal with nightmares in Republicans vs. Democrats (about 50% more in Republicans) and the other with a pheremone-like substance that might eliminate PMS/PMDD (DD = dysentry disorder).

I'm thinking of being bad and buying myself a domain name _o_. Suggestions are welcome...especially if you can come up with something that fits my personality well XD. I have something in mind...(won't quite say what it is)...but I'll have to think a bit on how to make the connection between the domain and myself...it's a bit of a toughy...but I think its managable if I try hard enough ^^;

How on earth did I get such a big post? {shrugs}

"innocuous briefs"

Title topic apparently was the only thing that was present on this blog Tuesday night (and the format flipped to the original style). It wasn't due to me...I was elsewhere. Kind of interesting that only those two words were on the blog...wonder if that's a message or something XD

Let's see...I was planning to work on a discussion of my opinion on fanfic...but that title topic stole away from the plans ^_-. Katelynne...it would have been boneheaded had I been ~trying~ to get dressing into my eye...the leaf arced upwards accidently -_-;.

TV watching...saw the infamous Big Brother 2 on Tuesday while eating. Children can behave better than those idiots -.-. One person in her brilliance decided to take her 'enemy's' toothbrush and freshen up the toilet. I can just see that her realtor business is going to drop after she gets out (I wouldn't want my realtor to be that childish).

"Murder in Small Town X". Interesting concept...Boy liked it (he watched an hour later than I did...on the local channel; I saw it on FOX). I see more 'interesting' programmes for FOX coming this fall including some sort of love boatish show. {shrugs} I won't be watching that.

Yesterday...I worked with the radioisotope alone for the first time. It's rather a bit unnerving...the past two times, I had my de facto supervisor (who goes on vacation for the last 3 weeks of my time here) watching...this time no. The lab coat started to get really hot and stiffling (partially due to the room) but I couldn't take it off o.o; My hands were always held out in front of me bent (think of like a monster staggering) when I had my gloves off since I couldn't really touch anything. The powder began to cluster and eventually became scrapable off my hands (think of like a dough like constituency) after the thing was done. Oi oi...it took longer than I thought it would (1h 40 min as compared to 1 h expected (in my mind)...hopefully it'll be faster next time).

For the notes...one of the people I have coffee with (she's a technical officer) had an interesting schedule. She worked from 8 AM to 5 PM yesterday...and then did another shift from 7 PM to 8 AM...she's taking today and tomorrow off...but oi oi...I'd be so tired after that (though I've done something like that once or twice @.@) Seeing both the sunset and sunrise ne? ({evil grin directed at someone in particular})

Jackie: Good luck with your move (though you probably won't see this for some time since I'm behind). Doh...yeah...Square did a re-release of Xenogears very recently. My friend bought that. It sucks that the person put the price on it...adding insult to injury.
Priya...I'm going to eventually get to writing you an e-mail about one of your recent blog entries...really, I am -_-;

What a day

Oi...I'm tired...the experiment took all day to set up (with little breaks in between -_-). I hope it works out well the first time (yeah right o.o;).

Gah...that glove powder is now on my pants...again :/ (I've been wearing/switching gloves all day due to the material I was working with)

Not much else to say...other than I'm headed home in a few minutes.

{whine whine}

Gah...yesterday wasn't that great (soccer wise). The second game was starting to get ugly...and I couldn't really see anything due to the sun. I'm ashamed at how that game went -_-. The third game was nice...didn't have to move that much ^^;;;;

Eating supper...I managed to get some salad dressing in my eye (Zesty Italian) which rather sucked due to its acidity. I woke up today with a sore throat...somehow managed to cut my uvula...and I don't know how >_<

Today...things aren't going as well in the lab as they should be. {sigh} :/

Upcoming readings ^^;;;

I saw this book reviewed in "New Scientist" (7 July 2001)...and it looked so interesting, that I want to read it ^^;; Um...yeah. ^^;;;;;;

Title: Warrior Lovers
Authors: C. Salmon & D. Synes
ISBN: 0297647016
It deals with slash and how it is an expression aspects of female mating psychology and studies the evolution of female mating behaviour. I think this book has to be required reading for me...as it might make a few things that I observe make sense XD.

On speculation on fictional characters (warmup)

I'm not quite inspired to address this topic at this point in time...as there isn't enough time right now and I don't really feel motivated to think too much now ^_-. I'll get around to commenting on this (as inspired by an e-mail from Usagi...who also darns WMC for her edits =P). I'll get around to replying as well ^_^;

{thinks} Gee...did I ever do my talk about fiction vs. reality here...I don't think so off hand o.o;; Hmmm...

Side point...apparently there are a few of you who want some diagrams of a certain physiological response ^_^;;;;. We'll see about that ^^;;;;;;

Drat...I was going to make a big deal about the 100th entry (as I was watching 300th Iron Chef challenger yesterday)...but I'm already at 115 (without duplicates). That's not bad...about one entry every 1.3 days or so? {shrugs}

Wanting to so use a bootwrench on his e-mail account

Gaaaaah. I've been here since 10 AM...and my e-mail is still down {very very frustrated Stephen typing right now}. {growls} I've readjusted the text size after S-san...so...nicely...made the suggestion o.o;; (okay...I admit, it was a bit tougher to read; I just have a tendancy of adjusting the font size down signficantly ^_-).

Katelynne...I see you've adapted my naming convention system ^_-. Good work. :)

Tin...in regards to your last piece of writing and the ol' 'doki doki doki'...I think you brought that upon yourself XD. What...you mean I had something to do with it? Nah...couldn't be...^_-.

WMC: Got to love bureaucracy ne? -_-; It seems like you've gotten some nice early mornings this week ^^;;;

On other fronts...I heard a knocking sound at 5:30 AM...thought it might have been my roommate at my door...nope...after the doorbell started ringing several times... o.o;;. It was the guy from downstairs...turns out that my roommate had gotten in and had the TV cranked up loudly. *sigh*

Oh yes...I got the term 'bootwrench' from a guy in my analytical chem class/lab. He's an interesting fellow (was my lab partner for that course)...but a bit sexist (as seen in the organic chemistry lab) -_-;

Gaaaah

Busy working up on some things that need to be done...and I'm tired already -_-. Let's just take a break...and clean out my inbox with another...quote XD

Me: <shrugs> Tasuki has been noted to be multitalented...heck, if he's really drunk, I'm not sure he'd even notice who he's with.
WMC: HMMM yes he can be with me.... I need someting to take the edge off my appetite.
Me: Ah yes...the second string bishounen...only useful for the warmup =P

Katelynne: ^^;; Sorry...you didn't ask...normally I would never ever dare to write fiction (non-fiction is my realm of fun)...but I figured...why not. ^^;;

I started laughing my head off twice on Thursday while reading journals. Firstly...one group decided to study the microbial presence in flatuence by having a volunteer flatuate over a blood agar plate. A fair bit of bacteria (especially the enterbacteria IIRC) were found at the blast radius as well as dead skin cells. Science does a lot of interesting stuff (and I'll bet I've made at least one person lose some of their appetite ;)

Next thing...was an ad:
There are TWO reasons you got into science:
minimal human interaction
and free t-shirts.
Come one step closer to your dream... (offering free t-shirts)

I laughed my head off at this...(it isn't true in my case...honestly it isn't :P)

Blah blah

I'm headed downtown to a) go the library, b) go eat ^_^. Nothing too too special...might try calling S-san later...that is if she isn't at work. Sorry that I missed your call BB...I was online at that time I think ^^;;;; Might (and that's a big might) pop on AIM tonight...but unlikely.

Now...let's go eat ^^

I am actually shocked at my actions

Yesterday was a great day...two experiments worked out as they should...and I spent some time online talking to friends...though sorry that I couldn't spend more time with you Kourin...the library was closing up and I was kicked out ^^;;;

Why am I shocked at my actions? Well...I wrote some fiction. This just simply doesn't occur o.o;; I was chatting with the evil one (WMC) on the Java version of AIM when she decided to ask for a story. Umm...I managed to create one...which was surprising enough. You can read the story right now at http://seika.pitas.com/ where she posted it up. Unfortunately, the evil one saw it fit to only post my part of the chat...and deleted her comments (which I feel should be there) :P. She's wiser than I would have thought for a lack of sleep...I'll try and explain a few of my notations (that are in {} on her pita)...and if I can't remember the quote exactly...I'll make up something worse XD. (that's what you get for creative editing :P) I suppose that the story is really for her...so she can do whatever she wants with it ^^;; WMC...might you send me the actual full transcript via e-mail? Thanks :)

The story is okay...I think. It was written in about 2 hours on the Java form of AIM...and the ending is rushed due to the fact that the library was going to close in about 2 minutes o.o; There were a few themes I wanted to develop a bit further...and some more description that should have definitely gone in. I was writing off the top of my head...with only the vaguest idea of where things were going. As time progressed, I had a better idea how things were going to go...and yes, I kind of followed convention. WMC didn't like the ending...she wanted a happy one ^^;; I didn't see it fit...it seemed too cheesy ^^;; There are some inconsistancies in the text...mainly because I couldn't always remember what details I mentioned earlier.

I actually had fun doing this...WMC's interaction helped and also influenced the story in some way. ^_^. The story (IMHO) is okay for the conditions that the work was created in...and indeed, WMC did enjoy this Chinese style fairy tale. That's probably all I can ask for/hope for.

Ah yes...its scary that WMC has mentioned me thrice in her last three entries...^^;; She's evil for posting that passage from my e-mail to her ^_- (though it is kind of amusing) I suppose I've tossed up some good quotes from her though XD

Clean up

Put the last batch of entries in the archives...interesting looking at the tracker stats...a lot of traffic coming from Tin's blog in the last few days...but then, I wonder why ^^;;;; (for those looking for that discussion, it's in the most recent archive entry).

From New Scientist 9 June 2001 (p 104), talking about a paper that you'd want to look at to find out what the title means: "Muscle function at the wrist after eccentric exercise" from Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise (v. 33, p 612).

Before I forget (for myself):

right-hand rule:

1. For a current-carrying wire, the rule that if the fingers of the right hand are placed around the wire so that the thumb points in the direction of current flow, the fingers will be pointing in the direction of the magnetic field produced by the wire.
