Before I forget, here is the thing that made our biochemistry class (part of it at least) laugh. It's a poster apparently from the University of Toronto Department of Otolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine (it's somewhat cut off (sent via e-mail, so I've filled in the missing words as best as I could)

"Participants Needed for Research Studies"
The Department of Otolarnygology is undertaking a joint (study?) with the Department of Urology examining the effects of semen on speech. Our objective is to establish whether "rigourous" fellatio may contribute to pathology of the larnyx. (We?) are currently recruiting males willing to receive fellatio. (The?) specific aim of this study is to ascertain whether proteases in human semen are deleterious to the tissues that comprise the oropharyngel cavity. Would you be willing to assist? A conditional honorarium of $145 will be provided."

Bwahahaha.

What an interesting week. I learnt a few interesting things (school wise and otherwise) that I do need to comment on here.... :/

Today's objective. FINISH genetics paper.

I'm going to hell...
Wednesday, March 7, 2001
04:07 p.m.

You're going to hell, we're all going to hell if we're not Lutheran. That's the message that S gleaned from her visit that she made to a church for her class (Charismatic). Interesting stories she told though...congregation members are expected to go around and "show everyone the light". Bravo? Sorry...just because a person says it's so, doesn't make it right. I really don't want to have people tell me that what I think is wrong because they ~~know~~ so >_<. I'm very very willing to consider alternate theories if reasonable evidence is presented to me. Just saying something is so, sans evidence fails my criteria.

I'm rather annoyed after today's midterm. It was rather not as I expected. {growl}. We'll see how it went...but I have the feeling that it's not going to be optimal. {growls again}. F***. I'm not very pleased at all. Oh well, it's done, and it's not worth too much (but still, every point counts).

I don't have the fax page with me that was spread about the biochemistry class. It's hillarious...and I'll post it here soon ^_^. We were laughing our heads off at it.

Jackie...I feel for you. I'll have to send you a good long e-mail one of these days...your comments are very apt. Everyone (the very few of you ;) who reads this log should really go out and check Jackie's blog. I highly recommend it no da.

I have to go find my lab instructor (who's hiding) around to ask some questions...that's what I'll do right after this message.

Tonight's projects. Try and finish up my o chem lab and secondly, try really hard to get that genetics paper done.

A funny sort of mood...
Monday, March 5, 2001
05:35 p.m.

I'm in a strange mood right now...partially happy, but partially not. Hmmm...

A few housekeeping points here. Priya, I know how you feel...I got a similar lecture not too long ago. You have my complete sympathies.
Katie...heh...good plan (re: spreading blame). Alternatively, people often blame me for things as well (don't take that as an open invitation though :P)
Kai Ling (not that you're reading this ;)...damn you. You've foiled my plans to unleash the voice of Mitsukake in the world...I mean...damn.
BB: I'll have to let you hear the Mitsukake songs some time ^__^.

Why didn't I mention Thursday's lab? I should have. I hate hate hate survey labs. The lab was ecology, and I got the fun job of looking at samples and trying to identify them <_> Gah...I hated it in Biol 100 and 101 and still hate it now. Luckily, there's only one more ID lab left in the course.

Speaking about courses, I'm working on choosing my courses for next semester. I know 4 of them...haven't chosen the 5th one yet. The one I'm considering taking may not in fact be offered next semester (a 400 biochemistry -_-). {Sigh...} (more on this in a future post)

You know, I had been asserting for the longest time that a male slut could not occur by definition...especially since Websters' restricts the term slut to female. On second thought though...perhaps there can be male sluts. (Most of the people I've spoken to say that the term exists). I think I'll admit error in this issue. However, I'm still trying to figure out why ~being~ a male slut is a good thing o.o;;

I spent the weekend working on o chem. I knew it was starting to get to me when a) mechanisms appeared in my mind and b) I was talking to the mechanisms. Oi oi.

Gah...so many things in the news that have been ticking me off. Let's see...the destruction of statues in Afghanastan comes to mind. I was sure there were others, but they slip my mind right now.

Oh...one addition to the last post ^^;; I love the one guy who when he found out that the really attractive student was in biochemistry, was cheering and quite happy...until he was reminded that he has a girlfriend already.
On a similar point, I was amused at the comment someone made that "one day a girl will hit you over the head leading to romance" (or something to that extent) by Juju IIRC. Heh heh. Remind me to get some head protection (the head containing the brain, etc no da ;P)

Let's go and deal with some of the topics that I said I was going to deal with some time ago. {For those who haven't figured it out, this log is kind of a conversation with myself. Yes, I do talk and respond to myself...a sign of insanity indeed ^^;;;;;;.}

Oh...I learnt the definition of choch and chochee not too long ago. Apparently, choch is a male who spends a lot of time grooming themselves while chochee is a male who spends a lot of time grooming themselves and then think they are "the man". Never knew that before.

The midterm round of exams went all right. I can't complain too much. I get a lab exam back tomorrow and have another midterm on Wednesday...so I'll be working hard on that (while trying to get the other labs, etc. done). Hmmm...

Paper wise...the clinical biochemistry paper is almost ready to be written...the research is all but done. The genetics is doing well actually...I just have to put a few more references in it (also go through the references I've acquired also) and that should be done.

Skanky clothing. A couple of weeks ago, the Globe and Mail, in its Saturday section had "trailor trash" fashion. Umm...excuse me for being a conservative, but seeing a nipple hang out is...well...rather skanky. O_o.

I will get around to the FY box set review some day...really I will...but where have we heard that before ^O^.

Priya's recent log about British Comedy reminds me that I need to get the other Monty Python script book (only have part 1). I'm surprised though Priya that you mentioned Black Adder, and Mr. Bean as Atkinson's latest work but failed to mention "The Thin Blue Line" ^_^. Sadly, you can't corrupt me to British comedy Priya ^_- (though I haven't yet seen Fawlty Towers, Upstairs Downstairs and there was one other important one).

The Mole is over. Hmm...I was wrong in my guess. Ah well ^^;;

Those I owe correspondance too (mostly snail, but some e-mail...I'll really try my best to get it done this weekend. I think I said that last weekend too :(...but I'll really try)

Time for home...some lab writeups and studying await.

A little chat with the gentlemen.
Friday, March 2, 2001
05:32 p.m.

I was initially planning to go and check out the artsale/reception (free food ^_-) today during my lunch break and perhaps play a round of the Laser Tag game they had out there. Instead, I met someone I wanted to talk to (I admit having ulterior motives in this...I wanted something of his) and wound up having a chat with the gentlemen.

Most of the topic was dealing with men/women relationships (surprise, surprise ^_-). We started off by criticizing some of the behaviours that people do...ie. men hitting on women with a boyfriend already, and vice versa. The relationships that the people at the table had came up, including one guy talking about how this one girl was starting to come on to him. Apparently, this one is really attractive (Japanese, model, 25)...one of her lines (reported second hand) is amusing. "Diamonds are no longer a girl's best friend..." The end wasn't filled in for me, but I managed to deduce what it was ^^;;. I think the guy's conclusion that she is very physical is probably right. ^^;;

Someone at the discussion made the comment that if a male says that they don't want a girlfriend, all of the women surround them...hmmm...^^;;; (I'm not saying anything no da).

One other important point to make (before I go to the library and do some work there). What was it though? Hmmm...^^;; (getting forgetful in old age). It had something to do...oh I remember. Apparently, anything goes well with "Oriental" people. Yay?.

Now...off to get some papers.

You know you're getting corrupted when...and other topics

11:26 p.m.

You come across someone on a webpage talking about their life. One day, they comment that they had their birthday and nothing unusual occured, except for the orgy. Now, I found nothing usual with this statement. There in lies my observation. You know, there could have been some sarcasm in that statement, but for some reason, I doubt it. {sweattrain}. It was in someone's journal, so that means they were willing to disclose. The interesting things we can find online.
Hmmm...I don't know what to say...^^;;. I know that I'd never be that candid in writing...ever. A good guideline is to not put anything incriminating in writing. I suppose it's good that people are being fully expressive in their journals/weblogs/term goes here. I'm usually fairly introverted (well, not super introverted, contrary to what my friends say...really). I think I'll just leave that issue alone for now.

Had a bit of fun harassing Priya earlier this week and yes, it's scary to think of her taking the Hippocratic Oath.
From the log
Darkfacimile says: (P) We may wonder, but that shouldn't stop me. Knowledge is n eutral...it's just how it's used that makes it good or bad. ^_^ Puu says: ho ho ho! Puu says: I tend to use my powers for evil, I'm afraid. Darkfacimile says: However, in your casee Priya, I think there's an exception wr itten in. Darkfacimile thinks of Priya taking the Hipocrates' Oath ^_^;;; Puu says: waaaaaaaaaaaiii~ v_^_^-V Puu says: I shall do no harm...unless the results would be really really funny X D
I can just see the University ripping the diploma out of her hands...remind me to not ever consider her as a doctor for me ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;. Remember Priya...try not to always use your knowledge for evil ^o^;;;.

To a few people (somewhat old):
Katelynne: Oh, you're actually following? ^_^. Actually no, I'm not moving the site to pitas. I was just referring to removing the "best before" date.
To those who know what I'm talking about. The shrine got updated today ^_-. Made several site updates as well. I'm pleased with the work today (Sunday).

More stuff to talk about

Bwahaha...All Your Base!. It's hillarious...especially the video I viewed using that line ^^;; Here's the URL for the official site: http://www.planetstarseige.com/allyourbase/. It's from the old Japanese game Zeta Wing I believe. For my amusement, I've included the text from the game below.

In A.D. 2101
War was beginning.
Captain: What happen ?
Mechanic: Somebody set up us the bomb.
Operator: We get signal.
Captain: What !
Operator: Main screen turn on.
Captain: It's You !!
Cats: How are you gentlemen !!
Cats: All your base are belong to us.
Cats: You are on the way to destruction.
Captain: What you say !!
Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time.
Cats: HA HA HA HA ....
Captain: Take off every 'zig' !!
Captain: You know what you doing.
Captain: Move 'zig'.
Captain: For great justice.

I really found it funny ^^;;

The look?!
Due to M passing out K(1)'s phone number, she got to deal with someone she barely knows calling her. Her response..."Um, I'll be busy for the next 2-3 months." Stephen's observation...the male is not going to pick up the clue o.o;; There was a bit of discussion today about the oblivous nature of males (in my case, it's done intentionally when I do it ^^;;;;;). K seems to attract all of the strange males (I heard other stories today o.o). Hmmm...but as for the look. Apparently, there's a look men give when they meet women for the first time that they are considering?! First time I've ever heard of it...it it's not in "The Guide to Being Male--Congly Edition"...hmmm...apparently, it's difficult to describe, but it's recognisable (subtle though). About the only thing that I can think that might fit the bill is an assessment look of the person, but I'm not sure. Might just be womens' intuition.

Good old hiring practices -_-
Apparently, the U of Regina managed to hire someone on staff (Engineering Department) who claimed they had a PhD and BASc...um...they didn't. It took 3 years for the U of R to detect it...the person resigned last week. Apparently, she stole her ex-husband's qualifications...he has a PhD and a BASc from the places she claimed she had a degree. Lana Nguyen is the person in the centre of the conflict. The engineer association thought that Lana was a anglised version of the actual name (forgot it...but read it). Needless to say, she's no longer even a part of the engineer association. Interestingly enough, she also took papers from her ex-husband and made modifications to it -_-. Kami-sama...the univerity missed the fraud on the 'original transcripts' submitted. God...pathetic. What an embarassment to the university...even though I'm in the Faculty of Science, it still drips down.

I think that's all I had to say right now...well, even if isn't, I'm done. Oh...one thing. "A Strict Structure: The Tokugawa Class System as a Model of the Fushigi Yuugi Fan Community" got a accolate as a Anipike site of the week for this week ^_^. I'm pleased.

On naming conventions and other such things.

Not that anyone cares, but in spite of the fact that I apparently mix and match initials and names randomly, there is method in the madness. People in RL get initials, people I know online get addressed by how I normally call them. Exception is that when I address people by their real names, who I normally call by a handle, also get initials. I'm sure the few of you that read this figured that out ^_^ (hint, you can claim you did and I won't notice/care ;)

What an interesting past couple of days it has been...interesting in the non-good sense :(.

12:38 a.m.

Yesterday (that is Thursday as I'm starting this Friday morning), my progress was pretty good. I almost finished my o chem assignment off (though I'm going to have to review the material quite a bit), I made it through my backlog of ecology notes, studied for my genetics lab exam and got some work done on my genetics paper. I also watched Survivor II ^^;;; (Kimmi is gone...next week, something bad happens to a Kucha member).
For some strange reason, my left shoulder hurts now...I need a pretty masseuse...or just a masseuse ^^;;. Owie...it hurts na no da (though it's not incapacitating)...massaging it with my hand did help, but it makes it a little more difficult to manipulate books. My other muscles have been stiff as well...but that may be explained below.

Productivity wise, Wednesday was horrible. I didn't get much sleep due to stomach pains and throughout much of the day, I was incapacitated with pain ;_;. I started to work on something, and then would have to lie down in order to feel better enough to keep functioning. Ugh...I still managed to read through the o chem notes (making anotations for the first run--incidently, the red pen is almost dead...lucky I have a spare :). I made it about half way through the clinical biochem paper work I wanted to get done...I've put about half of the methods in table form now. I think that's about the only work I managed to get done :(. I'll leave out the gory details...since I don't want to think about them.

Tuesday may explain why I felt so bad. I got up early and went to the university and did some work on both of the papers, and then got some lab work done. I then walked over to C's house where C1, S and M and I went to M's friend K's house where we were treated to a traditional Japanese meal. I'm not sure if it was the meal, or the fact that a stomach flu has been going around our house...but I was horribly sick on Wednesday :( [I said that earlier, but I'm making the point again]. The meal was good at the time though...

Later Friday morning

Where did this come from
Hmm...I have no idea how this dream came about, but it did. I was dreaming of Ryuuen for some reason (not the character Ryuuen nor the person Ryuuen persay, but some individual I associated with the person Ryuuen's personality--[probably because I was talking to the person just before I went to bed at 12:30 AM] Anyhow, I woke up at about 2 AM moaning in pain as both of my shoulders ached greatly. I had the quasi-waking dream that Ryuuen had used me as an experimental test subject to evaluate reaction to pain and that there were concerns over the research getting published (in Nature?!) due to lack of informed consent, but that the article was still getting published. I tried to bear the pain for a little, but got up and took two Tylenol and eventually made it back to sleep. I think it's clear what I've been doing recently o.o;;

Anyhow, that was a sidetrack from my original writing plans. Back to my continued adventures...on Monday, I went with S, M, C, J, and T to the spa (about 45 minutes away from here). I did manage to relax myself somewhat...though I sense that the trip could explain the fact why my muscles have been stiff recently. S gave a nice massage, though she was gripping really hard--my moans of pleasure/pain were embarassing her (wow, she has a strong grip o.o;;). My mom wasn't too pleased by my decision to take this trip--she was not pleased at me for much of this week :/.

Saturday, I decided to go and meet S, M and C1 out for coffee (in the east end)...that was all fine and good, but I probably spent a little too much time with them. S and C tried to get me to stay even longer than I wanted and almost coherced me into going along. I'm not too happy at being surprised like that, but I'm even more disgusted at myself for not having the courage to stand them down. I know that I shouldn't let people push me around, but that was almost a close call. I received a talking to for that one by my mom (incidently, she's been right, but I'm not going to let her know that). Ugh...what an unpleasant situation.

Brief summary of today. My dad took us out for lunch ^_^...we went to the Lakeshore restaurant which makes the loveliest hamburger dish (yum yum yum ^__^...'specially the fries). I managed to print out the outstanding copies of my paper that I'll have to send people ^^;;; (yes, I'm behind on that). I'm going to go and try and finish up an outline of the genetics paper sans specifics and references...those can come in later easily. Reviewed the o chem again this morning...it's making more sense (and that's a good sign ^_^).

To various people
BB--nice talking to you on Wednesday (of course the technology wouldn't work ^_-). Am I really that anti-social? ^_- Perhaps I should send you a few logs showing that in fact at times, I'm actually quite sociable.
WMC--long time, no hear eh? ^_^. I'll work on sending you a letter along with other things I owe you (no tape yet sadly ^^;;;). Oh...a paper on yaoi? Drat...you might just be stealing a little from next winter's planned topic ^_- (though a: the paper would be much shorter...may be 10 pp double spaced, b: it wouldn't just related to yaoi and c: I haven't decided on the topic yet...though rest assured, I'll make it controversial. Send me a copy no da.
Jackie--hmm...your server's stability has increased ^^; Your blog is always something to read ^^. BTW, where did you get this free domain from, and where can I get some ^o^
Priya--I should have a good chat with you about honours and other stuffs...have a few things to say on that line.
Venkarel--Good things may be coming your way soon ;)

So many things yet the time flows away

12:55 p.m.

My somewhat poetic attempt to say that I don't have enough time to devote to a good entry right now. I'm starving no da ^^;;

A few brief comments though:
a) Jackie, your blog server is the worst piece of excrement I've seen in a while. It won't load, or then it'll say the page is 404 when I know it isn't ^^;; (BTW, I wish I could write like you ^^;;;--and no, I don't want anything :P)
b) Made a couple of additions to the template; some by necessity (since I can never find my URLs for that stats page and the journal name page ^^;;) and some not (additions to Second Order)
c) Lesson of the day...don't type any mission critical material into a web e-mail program. I lost my initial work on my genetics paper, though I think I'm going to modify the topic a little to talk about Bacillus thuringiensis modified plants.
d) Kourin, I liked your advice generator...especially the line to create your own version of "Boy Meets Girl" ^^. Who does that song anyway...
{starts humming}
e) Last point for now. I've gotten my Princess Maker 2 FAQ up online now ^_^. It's at: http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/game/11213.html
