You're Yuna. You're hardworking and honest, and also a little naive. You can easily be lied to, but in the end your friends will look out for you. Kind and loving you'd never hurt a fly. You'd be willing to do anything to help others, even if it means some personal sacrifices for you.
Which Final Fantasy X Character would YOU be? Take the test.

For once, I honestly have nothing to say.

listening to: "Reunion" - Steven Cravis

Have you all sold your souls to Steven Cravis yet?

I almost forgot to blog about the weirdass dreams I had last night.

One of them was about a giant gorilla. I mean, seriously huge, King Kong sized. But it wasn't colored like a normal gorilla; instead of being dark gray or black, it had shaggy golden brown hair and flesh-toned face and hands. I remember being in a car with some of my friends (I don't remember who now) and/or family, parked in a parking lot on a street corner somewhere, watching the gorilla in the intersection. For some reason, there were no other cars around, like the entire area had been cordoned off. There was one guy trying to calm the gorilla down, and he didn't even have a tranquilizer gun. In fact, he didn't have any kind of weapon; he was just waving his arms and yelling up at the gorilla.

I got the cellphone of someone in the car and called 911. For some reason, I was very calm, even though everyone else in the car was freaking out. I described the gorilla and told them our location (names of the streets, etc.).

At one point, the gorilla came over to our car and started touching it. I don't think it was a convertible, but I remember being able to stare up and see the gorilla clearly, as if there was no ceiling to the car. He didn't seem angry or anything, just curious, and he just brushed his fingers over the car like he wanted to see what it was made of.

I woke up, fell back asleep, and had a dream about the Vietnam War. I'm going to try and be cool like Eggie and describe the dream in present tense.

I am a villager in South Vietnam (although for some reason my name is still the same). The American soldiers come to my village and say we have to fight. Most people resist, and I am one of them. Finally, I give in and say that I will fight under the condition that nothing happens to my village and that I will come back alive.

Later, I confide to another soldier that I know I'm not going to live, and that I would rather die than shoot anyone else. I don't remember his reply.

I think the last dream was more bizarre than the first, if only because I consider myself a pacifist IRL and I would never join any kind of armed forces (not even law enforcement) if it meant I might have to shoot someone. I'm one of those people who wants to learn how to fire a gun, but hopes to God that she will never have to.

I have, for sale, one (1) optical mouse, Windows 95/98/2000/ME/NT/XP compatible, with 3-dimensional 5-button function (includes scrolling middle button), brand Mitsuko. $14.00.

[Edit: It turns out that the speakers are, sadly, not for sale. My apologies.]

Email me with questions or if you want to haggle.

I feel it worth noting that while Charter is being a cunt, I cannot view:

  • anything hosted by voy.com
  • anything hosted by network54.com
  • Jasmine's blog (no, I don't know why)
  • any of the Keenspot comics
  • my email (mailcity/lycos)
There are probably numerous other things I can't view, but these are the things that are in the forefront, especially my email. I'm getting really sick and tired of this.

Couldn't sleep, so I watched a few episodes of a Sakura DVD I rented earlier today. Er, yesterday. Namely, the ERASE card episode, the GLOW card episode, and the MOVE card episode. There's one more left, but it features Meilin and I'm not sure I want to watch it. Blah blah blah possible spoilers.

I'd almost forgotten how much I love Touya. I looooove Touya. I almost went crazy during the Summer Festival episode because, man, I wanted to see more Touya. More Touya bickering with Shaoran! More Touya "oops my hand slipped" moments when Tsukimine is mentioned! More! More!

I must stop this sad, pathetic obsession over people who do not exist. I should obsess over Orlando Bloom or something, like Eggie does. Or Johnny Depp. Yes, I should obsess over Johnny Depp. Scissorhands goodness. But--but Touya! And Ashton! And-- **sobs**

I must also express my passionate hat--err, dislike for Meilin. I ha--dislike her greatly. Her voice is annoying. Her personality is annoying. Her treatment of Shaoran is annoying. Her treatment of Sakura is doubly annoying. I cannot stand her voice. She is the Possessive Little Bitch from Hell. Have I mentioned her voice grates on my nerves? God, I cannot stand Meilin. I am sorely tempted to stop watching the anime now that she has arrived. Why is she even in the series? What purpose does she serve? Is she there just to annoy the audience? ARGH!

Something tells me I should go to bed now.

I liked this song better when I thought it was just about growing up and losing your innocence.

Whitney's back! And she had nifty adventures. Sorta.

[Edit: Turns out Puff the Magic Dragon is not about drugs. Check it out.]

Watched the first three episodes of Kaitou Saint Tail today. I'm not going to blank out the spoilers today, because, uh, I'm lazy and I don't think the first three episodes are anything to worry about. If I'm wrong, well, hurl a brick at me later.

Anyway, Saint Tail is one of those fluffy series that you just kind of turn off your brain for, much like CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan, or CLAMP Campus Detectives. Actually, now that I think about it, the two series are very similar in that both are about crime-solving youths, except that CCS features a young bishounen trio and ST features a female protagonist.

Meimi is a young girl who attends a Catholic school (I have to mention the Catholic school thing, because it's somehow really prominent in the series) and moonlights as the mysterious thief, Saint Tail. But Saint Tail is not your ordinary crook; she only steals from bad guys and returns the goods to their original owners! Asuka Jr., however, son of a police detective, is determined to capture Saint Tail and bring her to justice.

There's really nothing to talk about in terms of plot. The three episodes I saw followed the same basic formula: someone is wronged, Saint Tail rights the wrong, Asuka Jr. screws up in some way or another, lather rinse repeat. I'm sure it gets more interesting later on, any in any case it was entertaining and worth my two dollars. ^^ It's worth noting that the Catholic school thing is, like I said, kind of prominent throughout. Meimi's friend is a sister-in-training and Saint Tail, before going out thieving, asks for God's forgiveness and blessing. So, um, yeah.

Lacking plot to talk about, I'll just ramble about the DVD instead, which appears to have been produced by TokyoPop. Those of you who know TokyoPop may now wince. Not having any formal education in Japanese, I can't say anything about the translation--I didn't notice anything wrong. Well, actually, I noticed that they couldn't spell "tiara" correctly; they spelled it "tiarra" throughout the entire episode. In what is supposed to be a commercial translation that people are paying large amounts of money for, this looks kinda bad. They also took the time to erase all the Japanese in Saint Tail's notes and challenges and replace them with English, which I didn't like, but that's a matter of personal preference. I just couldn't see the point, since all the notes and challenges were read out loud and, if you had subtitles turned on, were also subtitled. But like I said, personal preference. That and I'm a little dork who likes to pause the DVD and read the Japanese on the note. ^^;;

I did watch a few minutes of the dub and liked it. Meimi had the "arrogant brat" tone to her voice that grated on me once in a while, but it suits her a lot better than it suits, say, Sakura. ^^;; Asuka Jr. is voiced by Lex Lang, who's the same guy who voices Sanosuke in the Rurouni Kenshin dub, so I liked his voice (although how Lex Lang changes his voice like that, I don't know). Meimi's friend, Seira, has the voice I think they should have given Tomoyo. One thing I liked about the dub was that the kids actually spoke like they were American kids. You may not like it if you're very into the "Japanese authenticity" of your anime, but I like it. ^^;; I thought it was funny, anyway, when one of Asuka Jr's friends said, "That's, like, so totally in your face!" Meimi's mother also had a charming Southern accent which I think suited her well.

. . . . gee, when did this start turning into an anime review?

I found an mp3 of Dona Dona!

In the wake of the Audiogalaxy failure, I have had something called Shareaza recommended to me, a completely free gnutella client with no ads and no spyware.

Yeah, it seems suspicious to me, too.

And by the way, Charter's being an ass again.
