Chemokinetic...NOW Den.T35.Com

Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 05:26 p.m.

I've decided to minimalize the blog to nearly nothing; I originally planned on shutting the site down, but it remains a small web journal by popular demand. After a while, I will close down den.t35.com and remain at chemokinetic.pitas.com. I won't have a guestbook, so you all will have to email me, no editorals either. The music will also be gone... I won't bother changing layouts, either. Once I get one I like, I'll stick to it. Until then, I'm experimenting with layouts--not to mention I got a job...so I'll be VERY busy. Thanks for checking in.

Kudos for now.

MOOD: Blah

The new layout is taking longer than expected. I apologize for not blogging the last few days, but to be honest, there's nothing much to blog about, and I haven't really missed it. I am still working on a new layout. Oh, and if anyone has any cool Internet surveys, I wouldn't mind taking any. They're such a great way to pass up time. And, Happy July 4 (belated) to everyone. Happy Birthday to America! Hehe. We're 226 years old. Whew. Did anyone hear about the plane crash and shooting at the LA airport? Can't people just celebrate over the holidays? All these sadness...Kudos for now.

MOOD: Relieved

Screw PSP! Adobe Photoshop is so much easier to use. Although it may lack some of the neat image effects PSP has, it certainly (in my opinion) is much more user friendly. New layout is still being worked on.
Bretabel.com and Denny's Utopia recently announced an Alliance for Tolerance. Here's a brief new bulletin: the Alliance for Tolerance's first campaign will be a display of tolerance facts and interesting tidbits in the form of banners on member affliated websites. More to come.
Happy Friday! Kudos for now.

MOOD: Worried

Blah. I'm bored, but moreover, worried. I have decided to completely change the layout of the site, but that might...scratch that...will take some time. My capabilities in PSP and other design related programs has not and probably will not improve in the future. I won't give out any more details about the next layout... Instead of a simple banner change, I think Denny's Utopia needs a revamp. I'm working on it. More color, again, is promised. As for the editoral

all I have to say that Malayasia's Prime Minister seems very stupid. First, he says he's going to resign...then, seeing how everyone was so shocked and sad, he decided to withdraw his resignation. Now he's leaving in 2003. What sense does that make? Obviously, if he didn't really need to, he shouldn't have resigned. Being one of Asia's longest serving politicans, you would think he would have a little more experience! Geez.

Kudos for now.

MOOD: Blah...

Excuse me, I'm kinda bored right now. Just checking in. I'm trying to make a new banner for Denny's Utopia...nothing fancy. However, my handicap with Paint Shop Pro has proved extremely challenging. Meanwhile, T35 still has yet to reply to my email concerning their server and the problems I am running into. If anyone else knows of a free server without ad banners and has unlimited space, let me know. BTW, thanks to everyone who signed the guestbook. As usual, it is your comments and frequent checking-in with the Utopia that make it what it currently is. Your comments and thoughts are always welcome. Editoral soon to come. Kudos for now...

MOOD: Interested

Welcome, everyone to Denny's Utopia. First up, a review of The Bourne Identity...Denny's Utopia believes unless you're a Matt Damon fan, you should not see The Bourne Identity. The plot, while action-packed, lacks focus and point. Although the acting is excellent, the movie just is not worth the money and maybe even time. The ending/conclusion of TBI did not fit in with the whole point (if there was any) in the movie--a little too Bradybunch-ish for me. Kudos for now...

MOOD: Bored...

I didn't realize summer could be this boring. We're wrapping up our second week away from school. I am relieved, of course, I don't have to attend 6 hour long clases with a following 3-4 hours of homework. But, I'm just so bored. I guess I'll proceed to the editoral. Blech. I'm too bored to do an editoral for this entry. Perhaps later, when there's more interesting news to write about...meanwhile, the search for Elizabeth Smart is on--I could care less. Kudos for now.

MOOD: Relaxed

Emma came over yesterday. We had fun. Of course, we played stupid games, but it was still fun overall. It was, definitely, much better than staying at home all day with nothing really to do (way too warm outside), unless I want to stick to the computer forver.
All this boredom (so soon!) resulted in my doing even more homework. I finished the Bucs' Blade assignment, except for journaling one more entry. I still have yet to do the Euro assignment. It looks boring, already. And if I'm bored, that means bored to the second power. Ick. I'm just glad I have something planned tonight! Movies--I believe it's going to be The Bourne Identity.
Another news brief, which does not affect Denny's life directly, is going to be the "News" section. I will be posting some current news events, and Denny's Utopia's official position on these events. I extremely doubt it will continue throughout the school year, but much happens during the summer. Basically, in addition to hearing about my boring life, readers of the Utopia will also get a side-dish of current news and my opinions on it. Here's the very first issue of Denny's Utopia Editoral.

Elizabeth Smart has been missing for weeks now. Her family waits impatiently everyday for her return. Police and FBI are desparately searching for her and the kidnapper. Her younger sister is extremely shocked and terrified. What's wrong with this picture? The only reason Elizabeth's story appears on CNN (believe me, avid viewer) every five minutes is because her family is wealthy and affluent. Other families who lack the power and prestige of the Smart family with missing relatives and children are not as lucky. Denny's Utopia believes if any child, despite socioeconomic conditions of the family, goes missing, equal attempts must be made to try and rescue the child. Of course, this is not true with the Smart case.
Hong Kong's Legislative Council approved Thursday one of the largest changes in government structure since its handover from Great Britain in 1997. Tung Chee-Hwa, the Chief Executive, has proposed a restructure of the civil service, instead of civil servants who have worked their way up in their careers, Tung will now appoint 11 (unconfirmed...) members in his exclusive cabinent. Denny's Utopia believes this further corrupts the Hong Kong government. It is not accountable merely because the appointed members and CE Tung are not directly elected by the people of Hong Kong. With the backing of Beijing, anything can be done. It is predicted, not only by Denny's Utopia, this shift will erode Hong Kong's freedoms. Perhaps it will not directly, but indirectly...

Wow! That was an extremely long Editoral. Look forward to more editorals and even more news in Denny's life coming soon. Yeah, I definitely won't have time to write that during the school year. Yeesh. Kudos for now.

MOOD: Tired...

Just got back from a two mile hike and a very long swim...so, naturally, I'm tired. I'm sorry for not updating over the weekend, but there wasn't much to update about. I went shopping. Rivertown is bustling. I got a new book called Understanding China. It's really good so far. Hopefully, it will broaden my understanding. And Emma is coming over on Wednesday...just confirmed.

The proposed Alliance for Tolerance between Denny's Utopia and Bretabel.com is in full gear. It should be up and running quickly. Our goal is at the end of July, but it is very possible it could be earlier. I'm not the greatest at creating banners, so Bretabel.com will take up that responsibility. However, Bretabel.com's work might be delayed with the new Bretabel.com approaching. If you haven't seen it, check it out by clicking here. Kudos for now.

MOOD: Numb

Yes, that's right...I'm numb. No, it does not mean that I cannot feel physically, but yes, it is more like a mental state of being. Fridays used to be filled with joy and excitement--one more day of this horror called school and we're done for the week, right? Well, during the summer, I am numb towards Fridays. I do not particularly care for them--it seems like everyday is Friday here. Again, enjoy it while you can.

On an another note, I have started reading The Radical Write for the Bucs' Blade, Adv. Journalism II next year. It's kinda boring...and we're supposed to write a log for it or something. I'm on Chapter 4 out of the assigned 7. Yeah, I know, don't worry about it. If I get it done earlier, then I don't have to worry about it, right? Kudos for now.

MOOD: Happy!

Everything on the site is good to go! The event was a smashing success yesterday, except for a few minor glitches. Anyways, the alliance proposed by Denny's Utopia and Bretabel.com is still progressing, to keep y'all updated. After discussing the options, we have finalized the name, at least, called, "The Alliance for Tolerance", aka T.A.T. More to come, later.

In addition, more color, slowly is being added to the blog. That is my next goal for the blog--more COLOR! Kudos for now.

MOOD: Calm...Relaxed

Thanks to Jamie, really being the only HTML person to offer me help by contacting me. I have it all worked out now, for the most part. The music is back, needless to say, but it is not on infinite loop, so if you don't care for it, just hear it out once. If you love it to death (highly doubt unless you're Alli P), then you can refresh when necessary. I uploaded the entry break to a different server, and now it actually shows up! At first, the .png format was not working, but thanks to nifty gizmos like PSP, I changed it quickly to .jpg. Sorry, Jamie, the music does not work on Netscape. Don't you have Internet Explorer?

The proposed alliance of den.t35.com and Bretabel.com have progressed. When the issue is finalised, it will be reported by both sites. Denny's Utopia thanks you for your extreme patience.

The weather looks downright nasty. It's raining all over the place...I hope it does not spoil this afternoon's plans. Kudos for now.

MOOD:Frustrated

Well, after much work, I finally have the music working. Unfortunately, I still need an HTML expert sometime soon. I have uploaded both the break image and the song to my server at T35, but it simply will not come up! I think it might be something with direct linking, but I am so confused. I have spent hours trying to make both the break work, and now the music is working, only when I had to direct link it from another page. Hello...I wanted my own server for a reason! Yeesh! Any HTML EXPERTS want to help a confused kid on summer break, give me an e-mail. My inbox is waiting...

In other news, the alliance proposed by Denny's Utopia and Bretabel.com is on delay. That is the only information we are able to provide at this time. Enjoy summer, and kudos for now.

MOOD: Worry-free

As promised, III Utopia is being updatedly (slowly but surely). A new "break" between entries was created and uploaded last night. Please note that the t35 server is usually down, so the break may not be viewable until it is back and running again. Other updates, perhaps even more COLOR as recommended by many Denny's Utopia readers, may be on the journey to improvement.

In other news, I have survived with all A's for my sophomore school year. Note the earlier entry where this was also mentioned...now it is confirmed through electronic gizmos such as the Parent Internet Viewer. That B+ of an exam grade in Chem will blemish my record, but it is nothing to grow white hairs over. Colleges look more importantly at the grades overall, I hope.

Thanks to all the beloved souls who signed the book. I will updating the index HTML page to link Jamie and her infamous cartoons.

And, last, but not least, discussions are pending as to whether or not Denny's Utopia and Bretabel.com (finally up and running again) will form an alliance against...more to come. Details will be given later. Kudos for now.

School is done. I am done with all A's. I'm terribly sorry I haven't updated in such a long time. Finals and Nationals really mounded the school work. I'll be back with more... Kudos for now.
