Holy crap! I can't believe it's near the end of October and I haven't written one thing @_@ ok so like back track to the beginning of the month.. I saw the Corpse Bride and it was cute even though the ending was a bit cliche @_@..but I actually liked Emily and I sorta wish Victor had just drank the poison, died and gone off with her *shrug* cause Victoria was so blah to me. My B-day rolled around and it was ok..I got drunk, spent time with the family..got some neat presents..one of which was a gift card that I have yet to use but must! >_< The only thing that bothered me was my fucking uncle..whom I hate with a passion, he was funny during certain parts of the night..but I guess that was just my inebriated tolerance being optomistic. But at other parts he was as insufferable as ever...augh. My sister couldn;t make it and I was very dissapointed about that, but she was working which I guess I could understand, anyhow she felt so guilty that she took me on a 0 shopping spree..holy shit! XD I loaded up on CDs and Video Games hahaha. So all in all I guess it was a pretty good B-day..well definitely better than last year cause I was in the freakin California desert and shit >_< I finally got to meetup with Dalla and that was a blast XD her family was very civil with me, the poor girl was so afraid they might not be @_@..but I had fun. It was the first time I ever took the VRE so I really enjoyed that trip..it reminded me so much of the Chicago Metra that it was a pleasant nostalgic ride! So that's how it started..too bad it was a rainy day from the get go..argg, but at least it was warm weather. Anyhow after I got to the train station I stuck my head out briefly and she found me..it was rather quick, but she had been waiting for a bit I guess @_@. It was a nice drive to her place, very pretty scenery! I met her adorable lil kitty and the two chihuahuas her aunt and uncle keep..omg they were so adorable! Oh did I mention we ate at applebees!? I haven't eaten there in forever and it was great! We were so full we had to get a box for the rest haha. We also went to Borders to browse for reading material. I ended up buying the 10th Darren Shan book (which I still have to finish reading omg..I am so backed up) and Lord Loss which I anticipate to be very good and can't wait to start on it. We met a nice guy there who was such an informed Otaku we talked about good manga and FFAC for a looong time it was so great..and he might go to Nekocon too! Well we left and of course it wasn't only drizzling like when we went in..it was pouring, we got soaked running to the car and that in itself was a trip (putting the new books under my coat and running from borders to the car..omg we looked like fugitives hahaha). Oh we also drove by the movie theater in an attempt to catch a flick..well there's wasn't anything too interesting playing and at the time we got there most movies would last too long into the night..but the best part of all that was a new inside joke between Dalla and I to match the evil water incident at Otakon..getting out of a car ninja style will never be erased from my head as long as I live (I bet she wishes she could forget haha). XD Anyhow the first night we tried our best to get to bed early but I did get to see this awesome korean anime movie called Wonderful Days or something like that and it was a great story..I forgot how interesting the Korean language was like..I was captivated by all of it..truly beautiful movie! Heheh we couldn't stop chatting it was great XD the next day started the drive down to Hampton Roads for the meeting and it took us exactly 3 hours but that was with a stop to eat breakfast and ask for directions plus a few U-turns getting there..but overall it wasn't too hard! It was a damn good trial run..though it should be easier the second time around >_< anyhow we got to meet Rob and the rest of the GR staff..but it was weird we really didn't have any questions..everything was pretty cut and dry, so most of the time was spent with light crazy banter and getting a feel for each other..I think they were a nice kooky bunch so I am sure it will be a blast. I am a bit intimidated though that it will be my first time doing this and already I have 4 guests total to handle..the art-related guys should be ok..dunno about the others *sigh* I just hope it isn't too taxing in the end I have heard some horror stories about really understaffed cons in the past. The only trouble is getting crash space..my budget wont be too much..and neither will Dalla's so we were kind of dreading that part >_< but I think we can manage. Anyhow the drive back was probably quicker than getting there..once we did I caught up on her awesome doujin, then we watched Adult Swim together which was such a trip..I don't think I'll ever have that much fun watching FMA and rest, cause Dalla has the most interesting commentary ever! She also introduced me to one of her buddies on the phone and I think we scared the poor guy XD haha..Oh! I almost forgot she gave me a nice tour of her art on her comp..good lord it is amazing that talent like hers exists and I saw it with my own eyes..the raw files *_* nyah! It was a priviledge that few of her fans may ever witness *sticks out tongue* hehehehe lucky me! Nya nyah. Well Sunday was bittersweet..I was worried about my dog since I knew my mother wouldn't look after her too well so I was happy to come home and see her but at the same time my visit felt too short! It was fun and I can't wait till we do it again! XD Too bad we live a good distance from each other though...otherwise I know we'd have way more fun meeting each other more regularly ;_;
Well after that there really hasn't been too much at least not that I remember too many details, I wont be here this weekend cause I'll be at my aunts..and then the next week will be Nekocon..and I am still debating whether I go to AnimeUSA or not in the end arrgg. Anyway the only eventful thing to happen today was an trip to the emegency room, not for me though it was for my aunt's sister's baby..and I had to go along to translate. Aarg and all for a freakin fever..I hate being around sick people as it is, but to do it for like 4 ours? yeah I ended up getting home at almost 1am-ish and for nothing..cause in the end the end his fever had gone down and all she had to do was give him some tylenol and stuff..augh. Well I had fun talking to her anyway it was neat, and with my medical training it was easy to pick out if the lady was doing things right..specially with the straight cath thing, I was eyeing the sterility of those gloves like a mofo. Ah well..at least I was of some use. Oh did I mention I'm, sick myself? yeah..it's tea and cough drops for me well let's hope the rest of October is nice and peaceful..anyone looking forward to Halloween? I seriously wanna dress up..seriously, it's been a long time (besides Cosplay) that I got to be something creepy XD
