[Who Killed the Electric Car?] You know after seeing "Who Killed the electric car" and reading more supporting facts..it is not hard to see why the poor EV1 did not make it. I remember years ago when people talked about the electric car..I was a kid. It was about the same time they were dreaming of the first hovering vehicles. They dismissed both as "too into the future" to be practical. In fact, I don't even remember ANY advertisement or promotion for the Electric cars in those days..I barely heard of them because it was in the news briefly (but it was mostly about the solar power racing model). The years went by and all I thoought to myself is "hmm whatever happened to the flying cars and solar cars" thinking perhaps the technology was not advanced enough yet. Boy was I wrong! Come to find out we had it all along. You know all this makes even more sense when you watch this movie along with Inconvenient Truth. The problem leading to Global Warming is not only in our over-use of energy but also our addiction to money. It's time to wake up and realize money does not go to the grave with you people..I wish those at GM and other Car manufacturer's realized that. There is only so much money can buy..but a dying earth money simply wont fix! Such simple solutions one could implement but since powerful people have something to lose it simply wont happen naturally. Such a shame. What car manufacturers should do to wean themselves off the oil is to once again launch the cars but this time invest in the energy BEHIND keeping those cars running. Let them pour money into wind, solar, and water energy solutions. Let the automotive field corner the market on batteries and other energy efficient car accessories! Let Gas stations turn from oil pumpers to electric charging stations. I don't see how it could be so incredibly hard. We have already ruined foreign relations..no need to feel sorry about investing our billions on self sustenance, there are plenty others to feed them money for oil, the important thing is to set the example ourselves first. The world will follow (actually they are ahead of us really). To make it popular and easy on consumers..have high value trade-ins for their old gas-run cars that they can use towards a new electric car, or vouchers, discounts, low percentage ratings on monthly payments even. Give the car manufacturer's incentives to make the cars in the first place, invest in it's future stock, give them tax breaks, easy partnerships with energy industries rather than oil. It's a shame I was searching online earlier looking for electric cars..all I find are Hybrids (which still cling to gas in the end) and scooters. Damn shame. No wonder our country (along with Australia) refuses to adopt the Kyoto treaty. It would be too much of an effort. American cars are not even accepted in China..they are below their efficiency standards. CHINA PEOPLE! That's a wake up call when our largest trade partner wont accept our cars!! It's entirely up to us whether the electric car comes back. We need to write our politicians. Congress. Elect people who share the same views..election time is the best time to do it! They would be desperate for your vote, and they need to know it's an issue in the first place. Elect a president who is firm on environmental values (rather than proposing to ruin national parks for...yeah..more oil) it is the ONLY issue that is important enough to threaten our very existence! We have a responsibility to protect this planet from ourselves. As voters and consumers we have the ability to change the course of events. Use your vote, and if no one stands for your issues, run yourself!! If not..speak out, organize protests, rallies, marches. Advertise! Something as simple as wearing a custom-made button or bumper sticker, or T- shirt can raise awareness. Show your support online. Include a link in your e-mails under your signature, on your blog or website! And always keep in mind.. the only time big business starts to listen is when we start to hit them where it hurts..with the money. Start car pooling, using public transportation, walking, riding bikes or investing in a scooter if possible. I know it's not the solution for everyone but if you start steering away from the need for gas..they will notice and pay attention to demands. Every bit counts, but it's up to us...

Decided to tinker around with Myspace today..for the pure hell of it. I had just drawn a new background and I decided..what the hell why not set it up on my Myspace. I still HATE Myspace sooo much..but what the hell, what can ya do? I still know people on it.. I haven't done much at all since the last entry. I watched a few new pre-streets though, since that seems to be the only thing I do these days. I was very impressed by "The Illusionist". Edward Norton is just great..he's so poised and he makes the cutest grief face lol! Nothing cuter than his puffy beady eyes hahaha. Ah well the story was great the drama, mystery and catchy ending was great..though I must say I predicted the ending way before it came...hehe I didn't let me eyes fool me and by the time I got to the part with the prince baracading himself I was sure of the mystery's answer! Watched a sad movie called "on the Downlow" it was set in chicago, about two latin lovers who belonged to rival gangs, 2-sticks and LK. Well one of the guys decides to join his lover's gang 2-sticks but when his gang finds out he was former LK..well let's just say the ending was heart wrenching and tragic. Good little independant film, won at various festivals, absolutely beautiful! Bandidas was the last one I watched before coming down here to write. This movie has Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz in it. Now I am not a big fan of these two, but I knew they were good friends and had wanted to do a movie together for a while so I wanted to see what they came up with. It was FUN! I loved it..not only was it sassy girl-power fodder but it was just good clean fun. Althought they were robbing banks you still had to cheer for them and their cause (as cliche as it might be) I would compare them almost to Zorro, only female and err robbing banks. Anyway it is definitely worth the look!
Well damn..almost 8 a.m...looks like another sleepless night for me *sigh*

Well this sucks. I had two days off finally after working new years..I thought I would be able to just relax but..I dunno I have been so mopey. My head is so full of thoughts that I can't sleep well at night..sometimes I wake up early and can't go back to sleep at all! I've just been playing video games all day....decided to pick up a random save point on the old FFX and continue on for the hell of it..*sigh* I even got the Twilight Princess game yesterday in the mail but I just haven't had the wish to play it..almost 4 years waiting..tracking the damn thing from day 1 of it's rumor, here it is in my hands and I am not quite in the mood. GC version no less..I dunno. My sister decided to drag me off the couch today, we went down to the Rio to see a movie. Actually I had been wanting to see it for a long time..ever since I saw it in previews on DVDs I rented. Well since my damn ex doesn't like movies I never thought I would get the chance to see Apocalyto..but I finally did! And wow! Let me tell you it is the best movie I have seen in a long time (next to Happy Feet in Dec, but that was a totally different genre)..if you haven't seen it yet you MUST..it's epic. I know lots of people are put off my Mel these days..and yeah I don't agree with his anti-semetic idealisms but sweet jeebuz does the guy kow how to make a great movie! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I don't think my eyes have been as wide EVER! It had a nice funny moments and then it had the darkest, realest moments reminiscent of the drama from good ol' Platoon almost! The storyline? Well it takes place near the end of the south american empires, right before white men came to settle the area. In this era the Mayans were peaceful jungle villagers...but up in the north the Aztecs were experiences droughts and disease. In order to keep their Gods appeased the Aztecs had to sacrifice strong brave men. Well they weren't going to give up their own right? So this is set right when the Aztecs start to pillage the small villages. It is a powerful movie illustrating the courage of one man against the cruelty of a society trying to ward off bad omens and survive in uncertain times. It was beautiful, harsh and simply amazing. If you are the type of person who has a short attention span, this movie is for you..not a dull moment. Next I would like to see the Charlotte's Web remake movie..and maybe Eragon. Then I will feel complete ^_^ I'm glad my sister got me off the couch. She has been supportive, and tough at the same time, with me lately. I'm grateful. I don't know how I would be doing right now without her. Still even through all the drama, I catch myself wondering how Eric is doing. I suddenly myself saying something he'd say or remembering little things as if they happened just yesterday. I think most of all I miss his energy and naive optimism..*sigh* I just plain miss him, but I know I'll move on. Every night I close my eyes and get closer to sleep if a good night..rare but good. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Speaking of which I don't know what I work!? Eeeep!

Well it's well past midnight. We are well into the New Year, still..already it has been the worst year ever. I don't think I ever remember crying on the new year, I guess there is a first for everything... Eric and I broke up, I'd like to think it was mutual, but it really really sucks. I guess I'll never find the right person for me. Right now the only thing I want to do is curl up and forget the whole thing ever happened, cause the good memories are painful, the bad ones worse still. Oh well all I know is I gotta move forward and I've had enough of men for a long long long long time. Relationships are the pits, love does not last forever, and it is better to not have loved at all than to have loved and lost, if you feel differently you are a damn fool.
Other than that I would like to start this year by reminding everyone to visit the website above! Think seriously about your lives and your future. Watch Inconvenient Truth..it's a very important movie! The future is bleak people..but then so is my present *sigh*
