Well, it's back to work for me. But the good thing is that after today I'll only have 9 days of work left. In one short month I'll be back home with all my friends and all the people I love. Can't wait actually. Now all I have to do is grin and bear my way through all the shit that is going to go wrong. >.< Stupid Army. I actually had to laugh because I pointed out the stupid way they are setting themselves up for failure and someone quite high in my chain of command (whom shall remain nameless) pointed out that my way wasn't the "Army way". Well of course not... it made sense to do it my way. But on the good side... ::thinks, drums fingers, scratches head:: Well, I guess that settles that.

Another Man's Rant about Anime

Well, yet again I have found (through Danielle) another shining example of the ignorance of man. However, due to my impatience with trying to write back to this man and the overall feeling that I shouldn't be wasting my time on such closed minded, empty headed, brain washed simpletons I will simply take the time to do a small amount of education and retaliation on here. First off, as any self-respecting anime fan will admit not ALL anime is intended for children. Some is downright violent and sexually explicit. But whatever happened to not condemning the whole of a culture for one (and may i add poor) example of deviancy. But most is simply a form of entertainment, not intended for an escape from reality or as a "mind programming campaign against the children of America". I was raised as a Lutheran my whole life, attended Boy Scouts, am current enlisted in the Army, and am attending college to further myself and ensure that I have a decent job later in life. Yet I am also an anime fan because (let's face it) there are some things you can't do in live action and there are a LOT of things that America is just too tight-necked to do on their own. Of course, take a Japanese production, slap a little spin on it, edit out a few things and call it American. Isn't that what channels such as the WB and Cartoon Network have been doing for the longest time? And I wonder in all his wide knowledge of all that is good and right if he ever turned his eyes on himself. America was founded as the "Land of the Free". Our first amendment gives up freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and implied in all that is FREEDOM OF THOUGHT. His whole rant (for that is what it is, a rant by a sad, pathetic, religios militant that has nothing better to do to point out the short-comings and faults of others to draw his own attention away from his own) contains biased, racial, and discriminatory remarks. I wonder... would he still be so up in arms against Anime if it had been endorsed by the Catholic church? Of course not, but I'll save him the trouble and say this. The Catholic church in their "all-knowing" way would never have endorsed such (as he put it) "filth". Why not? Because they are self-righteous, that's why. But anyways, I'm gonna get going before I become a ranting lunatic myself. Have a happy, open-minded day. P.S. I am not attacking Christianity in itself. I simply think that people who can't acknowledge faults on all sides are simply ignorant.

Wednesday, January 8, 2003, 06:38 p.m.
Well, I just finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire last night. It was really good. Now I have to go back and read the first and second books. I know I know... I should have read them first and then the third and fourth books but I like to do things my own way. Anyways, I've found out something rather interesting. Banana seats are making a come-back in Germany on bikes. Yep, kinda scary but it's still funny to see everyone riding bikes from the 1970's around. Heh. Yeah, anyways. I had a good day today. I only had to work for 4 hours and then I found out the AKO Instant Messenger is working again so now I can talk to all my friends again. Happy days! So yeah, how do you like my new background? Very cool, huh? I thought so. Anyways, I'm going to go relax now. Bye.
