**we're tough dykes, we can handle this**

Wheeee, so much has happened since I last blogged. Our GSA went on a lil' retreat thingy this past weekend (hence the lil' header). We ate junk food, had a marshmallow fight, carried firewood back and forth, scared a conservative and her five-year-old son inadvertantly, were in turn frightened by up-staters in the parking lot, and watched campy movies (err, no pun intended). Fun fun!

Much to my surprise, I was one of the winners of the 12hr Marathon LOTR: FOTR contest. Even though the screening was yesterday, I'm still in shock. The screening itself was a great deal of fun. Many of the participents showed up in costume and all were friendly. New Line sure knows how to please the fans; we were given AMC Ent. cards with $25 on them for food during the day, and at the end received the Extended 4-Disc DVD, a nifty T-Shirt, and da' Ring! As for the content of the screening, we watched all the documentaries first...they were surprisingly entertaining to watch. I like a well done documentary, and these were quite entertaining. They taught you the terms, showed you the magic, and by the end you felt as if you met all these wonderful, dedicated people. When the credits rolled, the fans were cheering for the crew just as much as the cast! Isn't that great? ^________^ The extended cut of the film is wonderful, and it's surprising how a few extra lines here and there can really shape the characters. All the characters were better drawn and more backstory was provided. You also got a better feel for the cultures and the history of Middle Earth as well. Celeborn had lines! Actual lines! Woohoo! I like Celeborn for reasons I'm not sure I can put into words, but I like him and consistently like him. The Elven women I go back and forth with liking; sometimes I am utterly entranced by Arwen and Galadriel and other times I want to knock their heads together, hard. On another note...did anyone else (any Linguistics students out there?) notice that just about everyone in the movie used "trill r" NOT "flap r"? Thought that was interesting...watching all the documentaries and the film sparked my interest in embroidery once more. I seriously need something to keep my hands busy while I watch study or watch TV, otherwise I get jittery. Mel-jyou you updated your site! Hurrah! You look fabulous as Arwen! *squeals happily* You and Eri-chan are going to be quite the pair at I-Con! Had a funny cosplay idea for I-Con, but I need someone of my height to go along with it...well we'll see...

Have many appointments that I'm nervous about this week >_<;;; *blanches*

On another note...Miyuki Moon is my favorite of all the Seramyu Moons! She's SO hanyaa~aaan! She defines the character of Usagi for me. Miyuki-san just seems to sparkle! *hanyaan* Ahem...I really ought to get some rest for my Japanese test tomorrow instead of listening to Miyuki's singing...*sigh*

**orange blossom electric dreamer**

Went downstate for Halloween and the weekend. Quickly threw together a last-minute costume...I was No-Face from Miyazaki's Spirited Away! 'Twas creepy and fun! Didn't really feel like Halloween since half our buddies weren't able to come with us...;_; and it was so cold that there was a serious lack of trick-or-treaters! The horror! Pop said ya' know the economy's doing well when kids aren't hoppin' at the thought of free candy. Yes, Eri-chan, you looked quite ravishing and I regret I didn't say anything at the time. I'm positive Mel-jyou was the perfect Arwen. My lil' 'touto and his buddies were decked out in camoflauge and treated trick-or-treating affair as if it were a recon mission. It was so cute! I'm not sure if 'Neka or Michelle did the Halloween thang or not this year...

Friday I visited the High School and stayed for History Club. Was sick all day Saturday, but in the evening went to Mel-jyou's! Mel-jyou, 'Neka, and I watched movies all night. This morning we watched "Murder by Numbers"! That has to be one of the only movies where I liked the murderers a million times more than the police protagonists. There was so much UST between the two boys you could cut it with a knife and then some! And that's not a figment of my slashy lil' mind, Mel-jyou and 'Neka saw it, too! I swear I was just waiting for Rich and Just to kiss. Lisa should not have had as much screen time as she did, saucy wench. Rich and Just made the movie worth watching. And to think I had no slashy expectations for the movies, just goes to show you that there's always room for slash! Have been writing a Rich POV in my head since this afternoon, it will be written down tonight. 'Tis fun! ^____^

Uh-oh, I seriously need to re-organize my schtuff because this tiny room lacks shelves! If it had shelves I could nicely store everything without a problem! Must look for another solution...

**seramyu**

Seramyu! Fun! Just finished watching Dark Kingdom Gaiden and SMSS, and in the process of watching the SMSS Kaiteiban (Revision). Gaiden is good to watch to see how it all started. It's very laughable and to be frank I've seen high school plays with bigger budgets. However by the time SuperS rolled around, the acting and music and just everything is a thousandfold more professional and enjoyable. Anza (First Stage SailorMoon) kind of gets on my nerves. She's not a bad Usagi, in fact she's very true to the anime portrayal of Usagi, she's just irritating at times. Then again Usagi is irritating at times, so I'll chalk it up to being in-character. I do wonder why they SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER made Saturn into Miss Dream. It works pretty well, it was just a bit of a shock. The same with what happened to Mamoru. Some SMSS Highligts:

Tiger Eye flirting with Ami
The Amazon Trio, they're better in the musical than in the anime!
The "End of a Good Kid" Sequence--hilarious! It's better in the first SuperS myu than in the K myu, though.
Usagi Rabbit Circus and Crazy Showtime, need I say more?
The swings. They are downright comical!
A certain Mamoru scene...

On another note, the First Stage Outers are short. They're barely taller than the Inners, barely. The one thing I do like a lot in the SuperS K is the Chibiusa is actually concerned about Hotaru ("She was my best friend...") whereas in the first SuperS myu she acted as if she neither knew nor cared about Hotaru. Though the idea of all those people collectively going into another person's dream is creepy>

**plushie deliberations**

Not that I have time to make all the plushies I want to make, but here's a partial list. I've seen far more anime than these, but the ones that stuck out in my mind and don't have widely available UFO catchers are on da' list. The "Good" are ones I would make this afternoon if I had the materials. The "Bad" are ones that are just sqicky, but I would consider making as a gag gift. The "Weird" are ones I would make, but it would take work to get them right and I'd wonder 'bout them.

Good Plushies to Make:

Angelic Layer (especially Icchan and the Angels!)
Brother Dear Brother (a plushie sorority!)
Cowboy BeBop('cuz I wanna make 'em)
Detective Conan('cuz I don't like the official ones)
Duklyon(Kenpii and Takepon!)
Love Witch(Yuu and Ai!)
Lupin III('nuff said)
Nadia(awwww!)
ParaKiss/Neighborhood Stories('twould be fun)
PQ Angels(p-ko and q-ko)
Mima and Cham from "Perfect Blue"(idol plushies)
Rose of Versailles(I'd make a million Oscars)
Sohryuden (Clamp Style)
Tokyo Babylon(Subby, Sei, and Hokuto!)

Bad Plushies to Make:

Ai no Kusabi(shuuders violently)
Anyone other than Mima and Cham from "Perfect Blue" (okay, if you want a Rumi or the stalker guy as a plushie you've got more issues than me)

Weird Plushies to Make:

Angel Sanctuary(taboo defying plushies! plushie incest!)
Bastard!(dark schneider...@_@)
Eagle(polictical plushies!)
Gravitation(I'd wonder if they were having plushie orgies while I was out of the room)
Miyuki-chan in Wonderland(ditto)
RG Veda(tai-chan and ashura-ou)
Song of Wind and Trees(kinda of cute and sad and creepy to have as plushies all at once)
Wish(same as above)
Yami no Matsuei(Muraki-Plushie would do nothing but LEER at Tsuzuki-Plushie and others...)

What do you two think?

Friday 6:06PM October 18th 2002

**for example most statues**

Needs 'nother job, yes I do, Precious. Though I readily admit it's just for more materialistic bullshit, but hey we can't all be enlightened a la Tyler Durdin.

Watched "But I'm a Cheerleader!" Wednesday during our GSA meeting. Uber-kawaii! Seemed to have a strong French influence with its use of colors and sequence of scenes, but maybe that's just me.

Been itching to sew. Hopefully, I'll get time to sew next week. Want to make plushies, but what plushies should I make?

Friday 5:04PM October 18th 2002

I forgot how much it hurts to have your finger slammed in friggin' door. It also greatly hinders your writing, typing, and lots of other fun stuff. See, if it were broken my profs would feel bad and give me a break (no pun intended!). But no, it's just a lovely shade of purple and hurts like hell. I was hoping that I would grow out of my clumsiness. Apparently not. I'll stop bitching now and go hunt for ice...(then what?). Well, it wasn't the hardest slam my fingers have faced so maybe the pain will ease off in a couple of hours.

Tuesday 12:17PM October 15th 2002

Now Ronnie wants to dress GQ. Lottie's convinced that funky swimwear that looks like a train wreck between 18th century French attire and modern-art designs utilizing fabric with DaVinci's sketches printed on it would sell. Lottie has issues that I'm not going to touch with a ten foot pole. Never let the muses take over your brain, children. 'Tis a scary thing.

I have been introduced to Romanofsky&Phillips. Which means I will be singing aloud more than usual. Be afraid.

Watched "Fight Club" the other day. What a mind-fuck. Whoa. And I thought I had the movie all figured out too...I wanna write mind-fuck screenplays!!

On a different note (C sharp maybe?) I may be downstate on Halloween for all those concerned. Not sure though. If that's the case then maybe the week before I'll buy fabric and test out the new patterns Mel-jyou graciously picked up for me. Are they difficult patterns Mel-jyou, or can they be done on a weekend? I may even visit ol' MW high that Friday just because. Dunno, though.

Tuesday 1:13AM October 15th 2002

If my days are all October, and my nights are all December, then is November something between breaths?

It's a new premise for a screenplay. Though in some ways I think of it as a more palatable version of Ave Maria. It's not as weird premise-wise, but it is a bit weird style-wise. *bangs head on table* I think it'd make a better short story than screenplay, but it itches to be visually wonky. Ronnie wants to randomly re-invent herself fashion-wise and Lottie wants to try and outdo Ava's weirdness.

Lottie: Ava is nothing compared to Crazy Charlotte! Nothing I tell you! Mwuahahaha!
Ronnie: Lottie, darling, green velvet is not your friend. I thought we agreed to make your winter coat out of fushia-dyed wool.
Lottie: But lime green velvet is an eye-sore! I need to wear it!
Ronnie: I refuse to let you go around looking fashionably-impaired.

Ava: *snerks* Mara-Mara, and you thought I was bad.
Marie: I almost take back all those things I said about your sanity. *shakes head*

They run amuck, oh yes they do at that. Look out for a Jabberwocky update early tomorrow morning. Now to do homework and scrouge for food....

Monday 6:50PM October 14th 2002

I'm in TOO DEEP!

Despite the fact that subtlety is lost on some people, for everyone that knows me you all know damn well what this is about (I've only cried on everyone's shoulders the last couple weeks) and what it's directed towards. All emphasis are my own. This is exactly how I feel.

IN TOO DEEP by Sum 41

The faster we're falling,
We're stopping and stalling.
We're running in circles again
Just as things were looking up
You said it wasn't good enough.
But still we're trying one more time.

Maybe we're just trying to hard.
When really it's closer than it is too far

Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Instead of going under.

Seems like each time
I'm with you I loose my mind,
Because I'm bending over backwards to relate.

It's one thing to complain
But when you're driving me insane
Well then I think it's time that we took a break!!

Instead of going under.

I can't sit back and wonder why.
It took so long for this to die.
And I hate it when you fake it
You can't hide it you might as well embrace it.
So believe me it's NOT easy.
It seems that something's telling me,

Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Instead of going under.
instead of going under.

instead of going under again.
instead of going under.
instead of going under again.
instead of going under again.

Saturday 11:32PM October 12th 2002

This little activist is hoppin' pissed that she can't go to a rally this afternoon 'cause her ride bailed on her! Not that it was Jackie's fault. She can't be responsible for that family thang. Maybe, just maybe I can hitch a ride with someone else. Maybe. Doubtful though.

Grrh. Argh.

Remind me to tell you all the funny things about the last two days. Have fun at the Cirque du Soleil performance!

Mel-jyou, I know you've aced your SAT so don't even worry about it. Have fun at AnimeNext and glomp Dan for me!

Saturday 1:15PM October 12th 2002

Listening to: Paradise from the Trigun OST 2

This song is the kind of song that I would be willing to learn the guitar just so I could play this song myself. I consider it my theme music of sorts. Anyway...

Tom came over last night and we spent about five hours watching CowBoy BeBop and Perfect Blue. Whoa. CB is a lot like Trigun in all the best ways possible, though I've got a feeling that like Trigun it's gonna end on a downer. That won't stop me from buying the rest of the series! Perfect Blue rocks. Damn, it's one of those horror flicks you want to watch over and over to get it. Or something like that. *runs hand through hair* Got so much shit to catch up on. Ah well, back to work.

Wednesday 1:55PM October 9th 2002

I dunno, dahlin' maybe it's one of those weeks that it sucks to be Taurus? Wait, I am being facetious again? Shit. To give the facetiousness it's one more hurrah for the day, take a figurative Vorpal Blade to strike down those problems. 'Twas the blade that slew the Jabberwock!

Facetiousness aside, you can always gimme a call or email, and now instant messange (ceyloncay) whenever you want ot talk. Everybody's got problems, so all we can do is try to STOMP ON THEM (the problems!) LIKE THINGS YOU STOMP ON! or sort 'em out. Frettin' won't get ya' where ya' need ta' go, though it does do somethin' with them frayed nerves. Now cheer yourself up and call the Mick-ster!

BTW, Freud is everywhere. @___@ Don't worry though, I'm sure that Machiavelli is pretty damn hard to contaminate.

Off to the literary magazine meeting. Maybe crash at Ter-kun's later.

Oh, Mel-jyou! Kay Willow, of Clamp FanFiction fame is a student here! I saw her at yesterday's meeting, though I didn't realize it at the time! Can you believe it?

Tuesday 5:41PM October 8th 2002

Today was both a good day and a bad day. Though more good than bad. After the bad stuff, I hung out with CF for the afternoon until I had East Asian Cinema, he's so nice! Then that person was her usual annoying self, but luckily the film started early. Then went to the Anime Club...Woohoo, otaku! Glomped and was glomped endlessly by Ter-kun, what a sweetheart! Got to talk to Rika-chan and Kris-chan, because I never really got to know them in Japanese class. After the meeting CF, Kris-chan, Korpious, and I ate a late dinner at Campus Center which lasted another hour. All in all a happy evening. I'm really want to make Ter-kun's logo a T-shirt; "Otaku: We scare because we care!"

Thank you and you for listening to my ranting earlier. It really helped. Thanks again! *huggles*

I seriously sick of feeling like I'm going to break down and cry all the time. ;_; Some things need to get sorted out, ASAP.

Monday 11:34 PM October 7th 2002

Now that I have the much improved, high-resolution trailer I can comment on it more.

Whoa.

On another note, these are the inane thoughts that went through my head during the trailer...

-----------

Eomer: What business does an Elf, a Man and a Dwarf have in the Riddermark?...Speak quickly!

Aragorn: Well you see sir, the dwarf and the elf are going to apply for a marriage license and I'm on a quest regain the lost throne of Gondor. Oh, and our honeymooning hobbit friends were abducted.

Eomer: *furrows brow* Oh. That's outside my jurisdiction actually. You're on your own.

------

Gandalf the White appears.

Aragorn: It cannot be!

Gimli: *grunts* Now we'll never be able to tell 'em apart.

Legolas: Well, at least he didn't come back younger and prettier than me.

-------

Theoden: I will not risk open war!

Gandalf: You prefer closeted war?

Theoden: I'm a politician damnit! My whole life is a string of closeted wars!

----------

There's actually more of this silliness lurking around in my brain, but I've got early class. I hoped it amused you a bit. ^__^

Tuesday 1:22AM October 1st 2002

I just saw the trailer 'bout a half hour ago myself. Too bad the version I saw was of very low quality, so details were shot to hell. Still very nicely done. I liked everything I saw, except I'm having some reservations about how the whole Aragorn/Arwen (and Eowyn) thing is going to pan out. Not a big deal though because those two aren't among my favourite characters. They had OLIPHAUNTS!!!! Woohoo! That and the Sam/Frodo scene made my night. More Gimli would have been good, but Eowyn made up for it. *fangirly squeals abound*

Darling, check out Jabberwocky if you haven't already. You don't need to comment tonight, but I really want to work on it some more before I go downstate for the weekend and am deprived of a computer. Please? *sparkly eyes*

Monday 7:39PM September 30th 2002

For those who read this, though I really can't imagine who, I posted a teaser of a "Brother, Dear Brother" story I'm working on over at Jabberwocky. If you're interested check it out and feel free to send feedback.

Monday 3:08PM September 30th 2002

Just chilling out and watching "Nero Wolfe." Yes! They're using Royal Doulton again! I spot Centennial Rose! And that HAS to be Canterbury! Hurrah! I must congratulate the prop master for his/her exquisite taste in bone china and crystal.

You know what? Despite Archie's many affairs and his aggressively hetero behavior, he is SO married to Wolfe and Wolfe knows it. It can't be me imagining this all up! Do you watch "Nero Wolfe"? I can't remember if you do or don't. Thanks again for calling me! *huggles*

Monday 12:40AM September 30th 2002

Still sick. Went shopping for a little with Ange. Bought some comics. Something scary happened. Call me for details. Am depressed, can't tell if it's the meds, hormones, or something that knows no name.

Just when I think I know what it is I want, I know I can't have it.

Princess, please call me today!

Sunday 3:03AM September 29th 2002

*laughs head off* I'm watching He-Man! Teehee! I forgot how friggin' hilarious this show was. If they had Conan the Adventurer and She-Ra then I'd be in Heaven. Well, at least there's Johnny Quest. Makes me feel like a kid again. Ah, the 80's, how I miss them. Well, only some things. ^_~

No, not the Mystic Mountains!

BTW, doll, I ordered some Sailormoon Musical fansubs for us to be amused by. No one else will watch them with me, 'cept you! So sad!

Watches commercial for "Kingdom of Hearts." Shit. I think I'm going to have to break down and buy PS2. Or maybe I'll get it for Christmas...

Friday 6:06PM September 27th 2002

Day Two of the viral infection. Still really, really tired. And the meds make me extra drowsy to boot. Watched "The Wizard of Oz" last night. I haven't seen it in years and I forgot how much it amused me. To my surprise I actually like Glinda now. Before I thought she was annoying. However the Scarecrow will always be my favorite with the Flying Monkeys as a close second.

Now off to watch multiple episodes of "Brother Dear Brother" to get back into the feel of the show. Also so that I can take notes for the symbolism page and get to writing some of the fic ideas floating in my brain.

Friday 2:46PM September 27th 2002

I think I'm getting out of my writing slump, hurrah! In other news, I have a viral infection that will most likely keep me inside for a week or so. It wouldn't be so bad except the new prescription they gave me consists of very thick pills. The kind that are easy to choke on if you're not careful. Bleh. -_-;;

Eri-chan, don't faint now, but I think I'm starting to get into PowerPuff Girls. Yeah, I know...@_@. Oh! Before I forget, I found a gem of a mispelling on FF.Net, "beautyful." Ah, what you can find in that heap.

Thursday 5:54PM September 26th 2002

Jabberwocky it is.

In other news...I think I've caught something because I've been really rundown lately. Lessee this afternoon I watched the French Film "CRoss My Heart." Enjoyed it immensely. I finally realized why all the French films I like are about kids because they lack(Grace a Dieu!) the sometimes creepy and consistently sexual slant many F. films about adults have. Am now watching "Orange County", damn this is a funny movie. I wonder if I can buy the screenplay somewhere because I adore reading screenplays. Off to try to beat the Wonderland Woods level in Alice.

Tuesday 7:07PM September 24th 2002

It's down to:

pertinacious
fallacious
jabberwocky

Choose whichever one you like!

Tuesday 8:25PM September 17th 2002

Just so that I'm not going crazy with colors I'm going to use this site as my reference point. Tell me if there are any specific ones that you really would like...'kay?

Tuesday 8:17PM September 17th 2002

How about just a word that amuses us? We have a plethora of "pet words." Like..."insalubrious" or "lugubrious" or "schoolmarm" or "unctuous" or "broo-ha-ha" or "dnalrorrim" or "facetious" or "curiouser" or simply "jabberwocky."

Tuesday 7:58PM September 17th 2002

I'll play around with color schemes and send you the samples tomorrow. Still stuck on a name. We need something short and catchy....*racks brain*

Tuesday 7:43PM September 17th 2002

I think it was something to the effect of "Against Artificial Angst", but we'll need someting shorter for the user name&heading. Color scheme ideas?

Tuesday 7:34PM September 17th 2002

Eri-chan, good luck with all your ortho-schtuff! The October 12th thang shouldn't be a problem because I want to be home that weekend for at least one day of AnimeNext. I would love to come and I honestly don't care what we're seeing/hearing because it's sure to be good and even if it's not the company is well worth my time! ^_~ Off to beat another level of American McGee's Alice(tm) or watch one of the movies I rented from the library. It's a toss up between "The Brighton Beach Memoirs" or "The Importance of Being Earnest." Or maybe "Chinatown." I've become such a film junkie since coming to university. I still read, but now I have time to catch up on film, too.

Tuesday 7:23PM September 17th 2002

Listening to:Fancy LaLa OP--Very catchy! ^__^

The Great Dress and Shoe Hunt(tm) for the wedding has at last come to a conclusion. Even if the dress looks like Cranberry Cocktail Holiday Barbie(tm). To think I had just tried it on for a lark. *shakes head* Not too much more going on I suppose. Bought more manga. On a random note...I ADORE "Paradise Kiss"! It's so quirky!

Monday 10:37PM September 16th 2002

The only thing that really irritates me about all the 9-11 hype is how they harp on the widows and children of the businessmen's wives and how they're sueing as many people as possible for as much money as possible. Pardon me, but no one never gave a single fuckin' penny, or even a second thought to the widow/ers of pre-9/11 crashes or victims of other terrorist attacks. Poor Mrs. MacV, nobody gave a wit about her unless they thought it would make a nice humanities piece in a Sunday paper. RIP Mr. MacV and Uncle Can.

Eventually, one day these kinds of things may no longer bother me. It's not that day yet.

Remind me to tell you the funny thing my 'touto said about this topic.

11:41AM Thursday September 12th 2002

CLAMP North Side and South Side Artbooks....it appears that my little fangirlish wishes may have come true. So what exactly do these gems hold? I've heard that they have Wish and CGT pics, who knows what else they may contain. Hmmn...only one way to find out...^________^

Wednesday 3:38PM Septemer 11th 2002

Sweetie, I'm stuck on the chase scene of the Empty Message Board Fic, help? Suggestions? You say the word and I'll send you the latest draft. I really want to finish this thing before Christmas. Or at least a sizable chunk of it.

Should I start a fic blog?

In other news...my university email finally decided to work. Hurrah for bureaucratic crap actually working once in a blue moon.

Wednesday 3:15PM September 11th 2002

Today was a better day than yesterday. Lessee, watched "Ma Vie en Rose" [tran. "My Life in Pink"], a most excellent movie and one I highly recommend. Also "The Empty Message Board Fic" is now past the 12,000 word mark. Hurrah! A triumph! Did some light angsting while reciting some of Verlaine's "Romances sans Paroles." Especially: "O, triste triste est mon ame/A cause, a cause d'une femme." What can I say other than it was approriate.

No class today due to holiday, though I still got up early. It was an adventure and a half getting to Stuyvesant Plaza and back again, but not an unpleasant experience. Got Tarot cards read yesterday, was a bit surprised at some of the cards found in the spread.

Watched 'Vertigo' tonight. Definitely NOT one of my favorite Hitchcock films, it wandered too much. I prefer more concise stories. Off to watch a movie, or read a book before turning in. You better call me tomorrow! *pouts a bit* Please? ;_;

As a side note, I found the perfect place to play croquet on campus. Now I need to find more geeks to play croquet with. Do you want to come visit me in October? And I've been meanding to ask you, did you use 'dragondragon' because 'dragon' was already taken or because of the line in "Empty Message Board"? I know it sounds terribly egotistical of me, but I am druther curious.

Friday 11:54 PM Saturday September 6th 2002

Hey, Eri-chan go here for some wonderful Sirius/Lupin slash to hold you over until the next book comes out. 'Tis highly recommended!

Haven't beat the Duchess yet. Arghh.

Wednesday 11:59 PM September 4th 2002

It's official, I'm dropping orchestra ASAP for many, many reasons (and it's not that I don't like the conductor, he's cool and all). Anyway, I do hope that you find a moment to call me. Had Japanese class today. Mano-sensei is so cool! As an added bonus, she even encouraged us to adopt Japanese names for the class. We're having fun. Lesse, the Linguistics prof doesn't even want us to take notes. He told us to listen and then look up the outlines on his website. Couldn't bring myself NOT to take notes, the instinct is too ingrained. Cultural anthro is 'eh.' The prof reminds me of all the well-meaning English teachers I had and didn't care for. Found two of my classmates from high school, we hung after orchestra and traded numbers.

Am trying to beat the first boss in Alice, Duchess. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

Read Nakayoshi 08/02 again today. I ADORE the Tokyo Mew Mew two-page spread. Vibrant colors and it's a group picture, aliens and the cafe boys, too! Hmmn, I had my suspisions before, but now....pink shirt, pink pants, long and loose hair, Akasaka is most definitely a yaoi boy.

Not to mention Pie of all people has got his hand on his shoulder.

Tart's safari-esque outfit is weird. Purin needs a lighter color dress. Ichigo gets kind of smushed in the centerfold. Minto is so into Zakuro that it's not even funny. Quiche looks sweet and practically edible. Ryo doesn't dress like pimp anymore, he actually looks like a teenager for once. Silver hair on Pie is nummy. Aoyama-kun seems to be the only one without a cool outfit. Here's to more neat pictures like this instead of so many Mew group pics. Not that those aren't cool, there are just so many of them now. Need to watch more of the anime , hope it improves from the episodes I've seen of it. It just seems to pale compared to the manga. Now I'm off to go assemble the furoku box-thingies!

Hey, there Erichan!! No, it still hasn't sunk in yet that this is my new lifestyle for the next four years. Not bad, just different. I really did luck out roommate wise. Everyone's very nice and cool, which is good otherwise my first year would be THAT much harder.

Visited the library today...whoa, I feel so backwater after seeing such a huge library. Got some books for the Brother Dear Brother research thang. Can't wait to seriously get that up and running. Flipped through the latest monthly mags. It seems to be plot point season and that's all I'll say about that. Everyone's right, it's almost impossible to get good anime/manga up here. Bummer. Have to run off to orchestra, more later.

You know you have issues when...you have Law and Order slash dreams. Heavy slash. And I'm not talking Stone/Logan...I'm talking Briscoe/Curtis. This is what happens when you watch Law and Order four times a day, every day for an entire summer.

It was weirder than the dream where I was Harry Potter (for the end of the dream, the rest was third person POV) and he had such a THING for Oliver. Lots of surrealism, too. @_@;;

'Kay, at least I'm not having Monk slash dreams. Which beggars the questions: who the hell would you slash Monk with and why would you want to? I mean other than for the hell of it. As you can probably tell I'm watching Monk right now. ^_^ *adores Monk*

Am ogling Takara Jenny dolls on eBay. There are so damn cute! Especially the yearly kimono edition ones!

On a really random note, why does Disney feel the need to make badly written sequels to mediocre/and sometimes good films? Maybe if the writing (I'm not even going to go into the animation) was up to par of the films more people might buy them. Maybe they should just release the complete Gargoyles series on DVD.

testing...testing...1..2..3..

Seventeen days and counting until I ship out to university....

In other news, I went to Eri-chan's today. Watched some CCS, but mostly did some world-building and gameplay strategy because she'll be DM-ing in a week or so for our RPG group. Tomorrow is a cleaning day (again!) and an afternoon shift (yay). Boss is back from vacation, hopefully she won't schedule me past the 26th like she promised. *shakes head* Need to do a lot more shopping and cleaning before I leave, but it seems that there aren't enough hours in the day.

September Asuka seems to be gearing up for actual plot points in the near future. *crosses fingers hopefully* In the meantime...if according to X if someone you loves dies, your sorrow is equivalent to death....doesn't Kamui's angst rate put him at 'dead' a few times over?

Have feeling that Arashi is going to put self in extreme danger, Sorata get killed saving her (again!), then Arashi joins up with the Fashionable Dragons.

Still waiting for Clamp to reveal Keichii's purpose in X, and for Suoh and Akira to have a line. Any line.

In other news, have bought FoTR at Wal-Mart tonight. Am quite the pervy hobbit fancier. Now thinking that Legolas not so bad after all. If Eri-chan and Mel-jyou go as Galadariel and Arwen to I-Con, what does that make me? Not thin enough to be elf, not stout enough to be hobbit. Shall have to think of something that is not utterly ridiculous.
