Miserable cold has confined me indoors. However it forces me to catch up on schoolwork and html coding...Yay, it's snowing. That was sudden. Anyway, "Days of Our Tennis Lives!" will be getting a permanent home soon, stay tuned!

++cherry-chan's got amnesia++

Computer crashed...need to recover old files so if you or you have any of my rough drafts for essays or fics I'd be really grateful if you can send them my way! Thanks!

In other news, spirits not really all that dampened because 1.) recovering my media applications has been very fast and easy, and 2.) a whole bunch of Prince of Tennis episodes came in the mail todaaaaaaaaa~aaay! Wai wai! I wasn't even going to go to the package room, but Chakkun had to pick up something and I tagged along. Happy surprise! ^_____________^ And to add to the PoT madness more fics have been posted on the mailing list! Hurrah!

Have to hand in job application today ^_^;;;, but tonight there's going to be DDR tournament! Yay! DDR so fun! Life is good.

++random afterthought++

I almost forgot tomorrow is my birthday. *falls over anime style* Talk about absent-minded. 'Tis weird that I'm going to be going to class and doctor appointments (*crosses fingers* no bad diagnonsis, please no!) instead of seeing everyone or heading down the city. Ah well...everyone is usually busy anyway. I think I'll go watch PoT to cheer up. Gay tennis boys can brighten up any day.

Lessee, in between coding and doing homework I read some Henry James short stories...I'd forgotten how much I enjoy 19th century literature. "The Landscape-Painter" somehow pulled off being fluffy and dark. Nevertheless a nice read. "A Light Man" was just frustrating. Great story, but frustrating. Well, it was more that you wanted to smack the main character, Max, for being such an idiot. Feeling the urge to ramble...

Quick synopsis(spoilers!): that Max's friend Theodore was on the verge of financial ruin because his parents and his sister's husband died. Which left Theodore to provide for both his two sisters and the two nieces. So he becomes the personal secretary for exceedingly rich and excentric Mr. Sloane. When he learns of Max's return to New York he invites him to stay at Sloane's place. Max has no real means for providing for himself despite education. To make a long story short, Max tries to win Sloane's favor(hopes to be written into Sloane's will and gain a fortune) and succeeds. Sloane is literally enamoured with the man and is ready to send Theodore packing. Theodore feels doubly betrayed by Max. Firstly Theodore needs the position to provide for sisters & nieces. Secondly, Theodore is in utterly in love with Max and is hurt beyond belief that Max valued their friendship so little. Sloane drops dead and due to a messy string of events neither M nor T are the inheritors. The two break off their friendship and Max sticks around the estate to meet the young Miss Meredith (distant distant relative and now inheritor). That's where the story "stays." From Max's earlier declarations of wanting to marry money, the reader can assume that he intends to woo Meredith. Makes you pity Meredith without her ever actually appearing in the story. So you see kids, try to play your cards too well and you mess up. Leave something for serendipity. That's enough of that for now...Uh, I recommend reading "Landscape Painter" after "Light Man" instead of before(the way I did).

But in case that gives you a headache:
Dreiser's Utena 'Scenes from an Elevator' is a much more fun read. I think I'll blog more later, about something interesting....

Eh, this layout is probably going to go in a week or two. Inspired by that Dios-forsaken movie and the fact that I can now create screen caps.

In other news, the fic blog I share with Goldberry has been updated with a teaser for her new LOTR story. And the layout isn't horrendous anymore. Yay.
